Statistic of use of HTMLDB

A fasts question
¿Where I can see the statistic of use of HTMLDB pages?
Thanks in advanced.

Hello,
A fast answer …
In the Apps Builder Administration tab, under the Monitoring Activities section, you can find bunch of reports about using your application.

  • Using AE(htmldb 2.0)  as for reporting tool for other oracle databases.

Maybe I was mistaken, but when I first saw the HTMLDB demo's I saw this as a slick way to build a browser based reporting tool for the masses for quasi-ad-hoc reporting on some of our larger databases that currently have limited reporting capability, and also as a possible replacement for the many MSAccess applets we have.
I just got 2.0 installed and working on a 9i database and went through the basic tutorials, but I can't find much info on how to connect to other oracle databases.
    Are my options as follows?:
create dblinks from the local database that houses htmldb to all the other databases?
    or
install htmldb schemas on each database I want to access from htmldb?
    or
I'll keep looking, but if any of you have any pointers or know of a tutorial that explains the best way to do this it would be greatly appreciated!
    tia

As for question 1, yep, that's what I mean. Example:
In a schema in the App Express instance, create a user called "APP1_USER", and then
create view app1_user.people as select * from people@link_user@remotedb
As for the next question, using the built-in insert/update/delete processes will give you
ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG column
among other errors. Apparently version 2.1 will fix this. See Cannot Update VARCHAR column in Remote DB
We address this problem by creating pl/sql APIs for DML, and then writing our own insert/update processes. Slows us down a little, but even with that, App Express remains a productive choice for us.
Another weird problem: auto-row fetch (built-in to HTML DB) doesn't work over db links when you have two columns for a primary key. Many ways around this, e.g. create sequence-populated primary key, create a view with single column that concatenates primary key column values (key1|key2)
    Hope this helps!

  • Use report to display html data

    Hi
I have multiple rows of text in a clob field that contains html tags. I want to display this data in html format in my htmldb application. Can I use an htmldb report to do this or am I better off using an item?
    Thanks

has anyone a solution to this?
I have a form that allows users to add raw HTML code. Now I want to display the formatted version in a report but the tags show in the report instead...any suggestions?

  • Using the Import Test Data Wizard

    Using Oracle HTMLDB 1.6.0.00.87
Whenever we try to use the import test data wizard, even using a simple text file such as: "Forname","Surname"
    Joe,Bloggs
the file does not import correctly. We are trying to import to a new table and uploading a txt file with the above content. What we get in the set table properties is something like: Column Names : rom_wwv_flow_file_objects
    Data Type:VARCHAR2
    Format:
    Column Length: 30
    Upload: Yes
    Row 1: Where n
Any ideas? We tried the same test at the UK Oracle user group conference with success. Is there a set up problem on our server?

  • Performance problem with using API_SEMBPS_GETDATA

    Hello, colleagues.
I use API_SEMBPS_GETDATA to get data from Planing Format. This function works very long time and aggregates are not used. But then I open Planing Format in BPS0 - it work very fast and aggregates are used (I saw BW-statistic and statistic of using aggregates in RSDDV).
Can anybody propose way to improve performance?

    Czesc,
This is a paragraph from this FM documentation (accesible in se37):
"This API function explicitly does not assume any installation of a SAPGUI, since no API module sends a dialog. This results in the restriction for the module, that the header characteristics of the planning layout, can only have one single value as a selection. This way the combination of header characteristics is clearly definite at the point of the selection. Therefore (in contrast to manual planning), no user intervention is necessary to ascertain a header combination."
When you create planing layout in BPS header area should be combination of unique values (e.g. in header area you have characteristic 0country - you can execute layout when 0country = Poland but you can not if 0country between Antigua and Poland (more than 1 value)), more on this you can find:

  • HTMLDB

I have been able to install 10g and add the HTMLDB tables using the htmldb.zip file from Oracle. I was also able to use the companion cd to load Oracle HTTP Server into a separate Oracle Home. Since it's clear that there are HTMLDB components that are on the Apache side as well as components on the DB side, I tried to load HTMLDB from the companion CD. It always hangs on the screen that wants your database identifier info. I put in localhost, 1521, the global db_name from my listener.ora file and get an error message that I have an incorrect connection string and says I want hostname:port:database like I would put in for a JDBC connection.
Has anyone been able to get HTMLDB working on OSX? Can you give me some advice here? Thanks.

  • Statistical Forecasting - Directing Forecast Results to Spool

    hi,
We are executing planning jobs ( /n/sapapo/mc8g) for Statistical Forecasting. The planning jobs have been set up through /n/sapapo/mc8e with the required parameters and forecast profiles attached.
Post successful completion of the planning jobs, we get the results in the following manner :
    1. Forecast Results are getting stored in the specified key figure in the interactive planning book
    2. Job execution messages and information on parameters such as MAPE, MAD etc are directed to the spool.
Is there anyway in which we can also direct the forecast results to the spool ?
    regards,
    Anirudha

    hi Luiz,
Basically I wanted the forecasting run results to be directed to the spool to be viewed at a later point of time.
What we are currently doing is trying out the various models for statistical forecasting ( using Univariate profiles ). SInce we are having to execute a large number of runs, it is pretty time consuming as we have to execute it for a specific brand, note down the forecasted numbers ( populated in the interactive planning book for the forecast horizon ) and then move on to the next model / brand.
To simplify and speed up the process, we wanted to try out the following :
    1) Create the required number of univariate profiles with various models and parameters
    2) Create Planning Activities ( with the corresponding profile attached ) and Planning Jobs
    3) Execute the planning jobs through mc8g
    4) View the job output in the job spool at one go
The issue we are facing is that the forecast results are getting written only to the interactive planning book. And not directed to the spool. I have listed the sample spool output of the planning run job below. If you observe the spool, only run related info and MAPE, MSE etc are listed.
How do we write the forecast results ( for the forecast horizon ) to the spool also ?

  • Form on table: Using stored procedure to update?

I have a view which joins a handful of tables. I have a PL/SQL API that contains all the necessary business logic and translations to update the tables underlying this view.
If I use the HTMLDB wizard to create a form on this view, it would automatically generate plain INSERT/UPDATE statements for DML against the view. How can I make it use my API instead? (Yes, I can probably plug in my API in INSTEAD OF triggers on the view, but I really dont want to do that)
[Of course, the reason I would use the built-in form-on-table wizard is to get the automatic lost-update detection, locking, etc features]
    Help? Thanks

The wizards are there to help you build typical pages like "form based on a table", "form on based a stored procedure".
There is no wizard for "form based on a view, using my own API for inserts, updates and delete" - but that doesn't prevent you building such a form by hand. I have built similar forms, and found it quite easy to approach it like this:
    1) use "form based on a stored procedure" to create a form based on your API insert procedure
    2) add further buttons and processes to call your API's update and delete procedures
    3) add an "on load" process to select the row from the view and populate the form for update or delete
You need to add some logic for context-sensitivity - e.g. Update and Delete buttons only appear when in "update mode", etc.

  • SSO and HTMLDB

    We have Oracle® Application Server 10g Release 2 (10.1.2), HTMLDB 1.6.0.00.87
and the Based on authentication scheme from gallery:Oracle Application Server Single Sign-On (HTML DB as Partner Application).
The best way I believe I can explain this issue is by explaining the user actions:
1.User Authenticates through SSO login page.
    2.From Portal Launches HTMLDB Application.
    3.Authentication is successful.
4.All links, buttons and actions work properly on htmldb application.
5.User clicks link to open page in portal or in discoverer.
6.When the user comes back to the HTMLDB Application and clicks on any link or button the following error is displayed.
    500 Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
We have gone through the configuration steps for SSO with HTMLDB and everything looks fine.
    Any clues??

I'm sorry Scott, I'll try to clarify.
When you do step 1, how do you first get to the login page, by visiting your application page first?
    By Going to the Portal.
Step 2 is not clear to me,
What I mean is that we have a link on Portal to the HTMLDB Application.
I've never done that. Step 3 is not clear to me, if step 1 has already happened then authentication was successful at that point.
I said authentication is successful in step 3, because my understanding is that while the user is authenticated when he/she goes to the portal, once they go to the HTMLDB Application HTMLDB_SSO is used by HTMLDB to verify the credentials of the user. (This portion works fine, and this is what I mean on step 3).
Step 6, "when the user comes back" is something I don't understand the mechanism of. How does this work?
This was pretty bad on my part: What I mean is, the user through a link on the HTMLDB Application opens a page in portal, then leaves portal (either by closing the browser or by selecting the original link the user used to go to the HTMLDB App) and returns to the HTMLDB Application.
If you run your application by first visiting one of its pages before login, then you authenticate to SSO, and then just navigate around in your application (without any Portal/Discoverer links), does it work properly?
Yes, the HTMLDB Application works perfectly, until I go to Portal or Discoverer. If I use Database or HTMDB Authentication everything works perfect.
The error only happens when using SSO.
Thanks if you and I can't figure this out, at least we have made my questions clearer.

  • HTMLDB requirements

    Hi all,
sorry if this question has been disscused previously. I couldn't find prerequirements for installing HTMLDB.
The installation guide has short section:
    ========
HTML DB requires the following software:
    * Oracle 9.2.0.3 or better database, with JServer, XDB installed
    * Apache with mod_plsql
    ========
I'm not clear if we can use Oracle Standart Edition or Oracle One for using with HTMLDB? As I remember at least JServer is an option for EE.
What exactly HTMLDB features does rely on JServer and XDB?

    Edward,
To the best of my knowledge, JServer is included in 10g with Standard Edition One, Standard Edition, and Enterprise Edition.
    http://otn.oracle.com/products/database/oracle10g/pdf/twp_general_10gdb_product_family_0104.pdf
XDB is used in many places where XML is processed in HTML DB, including translations, XML data importing/exporting, Web services, etc.
JServer is used in a handful of utilities. We hope to remove the JServer dependency in the future.

  • Applying a Template to a Dynamic PL/SQL Report

I have an application in which there are several reports, all based on the wizard and using standard templates.
One of my reports, however is a Dynamic PL/SQL Report, using htp.print statements to create the output.
I'm not quite sure, how I can specify that I want to use the same template as the rest of my reports, so as to maintain the look and feel of the whole application.
Can someone tell me how this is done, or where I can read about it?
    Thank you.

    Sergio,
I have a table with two columns I want to display. The columns aren't wide but there are 15 or 20 rows. What I would like is that after 10 rows the report starts another set of colums beside the first ones. The standard report continues on down so you have to scroll down to see the bottom. I'm not sure if my explanation is clear so instead of:
    1 info1
    2 info2
    3 info3
    4 info4
    5 info5
    6 info6
    I want:
    1 info1 4 info4
    2 info2 5 info5
    3 info3 6 info6
Not being too picky, it could also be:
    1 info1 2 info2
    3 info3 4 info4
    5 info5 6 info6
I don't see a way of doing this with standard reporting so a PL/SQL report seems to be the way to go (which works fine except for the formatting). Sorry if I've just missed it in the options. I'd prefer to do it using standard HTMLDB
    Thanks.

  • Creating a debit memo request with reference to an invoice

    Hi,
An invoice shows wrong MWST value because of incorrect customer tax classification as Tax exempt. I corrected the cust tax classification to "Liable for Tax". Then I tried to create a debit memo request with reference to the incorrect invoice. Thats a requirement by the customer. Invoices with incorrect VAT are not to be cancelled. A specially created VAT only sales order (Debit memo request) is used to create a sales order with 0 net value and correct MWST . But while trying to create the debit memo request, the system picks up the same old condition record for the MWST. How to overcome this situation ?
The copy control for the item category from billing doc to debit memo request is set to "B" that is  new pricing. I even tried to update pricing. But it does not work. Changing the Service rendered date or the pricing date to current date also does not help.
    Please help.
    Regards.

This is working fine. What I did was
1: create a new pricing procedure
2: made the PR00 condition statistical
3: using a routine calculate the MWST based on the PR00. But PR00 itself does not contribute to the net value. This part is working fine. I could create debit memos successfully.
The problem is if we change either the customer or the material tax classification after creating the invoice, and then create a debit request with reference to the incorrect invoice, the system still considers the old tax classfication and therefore the old MWST rate. If I create a debit request without reference, the new rate is applicable.
I hope I have made clear.
    Regards.

  • Free of Charge Process in CIN Version

    Hello CIN gurus
My CIN experience is little rusted. I  have a question around Free of charge process CIN specific.
When I use item category YANN (copy of TANN) and the Pricing field is blank the table J_1iexcdtl is not updated with the BED . However if it is flagged as "B" the BED is updated in the table.
I am not convinced that this is the solution as we have the free goods functionality for other countries and it would impact those processes.
Any idea how I can achieve this requirement in CIN without the flag"B"?.
    Thanks a lot
    Sunny

    Hi,
As per my openion don't use the TANN item categeory. Define new pricing procedure there please keep price statistical and use  R100 condition type with G/L assignment (expenditure).
    Hope you got Idea.
    Thanks

  • How to keep transaction control in a wizard of more than one page

How do I control a transaction across multiple pages with multiple row DML?
I have a complicated business process. I want to build a wizard in my application. For example, to apply for a loan from a bank. A sequence of pages to take the user through a series of steps in the process, click Next and Previous to navigate the pages, click Cancel to undo, click Ok on the final page to commit work.
I know there is a wizard widget in HTMLDB to generate pages 1 .. n in a wizard. But ...
My question is this? How do I control the transaction. How do I stop HTMLDB commiting the steps as I go along. Somehow I want HTMLDB to remember all the information. I want to save everyting or nothing at the end of the process.
I know this works if each page is a form with items. You can build a summary page. But what if a step requires multiple rows.
    For example
Step 1 : A report to select Department to a form to Create/Update department
Step 2 : A report to Form to Create/Update/Delete all Employees for that department.
Step 3 : A report to Form to Create/Update/Delete some other thing for that department.
    What if
I update department Sales, press Next, delete employee Rod, create employee Jane and Freddy, press Next. I have a change of heart to decide not to hire Jane and Freddy but keep Rod on to give him a second chance so I press Cancel on Step 3. HTMLDB has already saved the changes to the employees. How do I rollback to the original state of the world.
1 ) f_g memory structures? No. I know I can get at a data structure if I use a multiple row update tabular form. Using the htmldb_application.f_g0n index by tables in the database. But I do not think it is possible on page x to get at the arrays for both the current page and the previous page? I dont want to use a tabular form in any case.
2 ) Database Memory Structures ( in package x create type t is table of t%rowtype; ). No.
3 ) Global temporary table ( create global temporary table t .. on commit delete rows )? No.
2 + 3 is not an option because HTMLDB seems to me to use a connection pool. The session in the browser is constant. The session to the database USERENV('SESSIONID') may change every time you click something or refresh the page. In the web model every time you request an action you connect to the database with a new session.
    3) My solution. Have a copy of all the relevant tables. Do dml on the copy using the htmldb session as a unique identifier. Then to move the data from the copy tables to the real tables at the end of the process. Hope I catch all the cancel events to delete data from the copy tables. Just in case run a batch job run in the night to clean out the copy tables assuming no one is using the process at the time.
My solution is ugly ! There must be a better way ?

Ahhh, sorry for the confusion. What you need are "Collections". If you click the "Review Demonstration Applications" link then install the "Collections Showcase", this should give you a good working sample.
Collections are comprised of an HTMLDB_COLLECTIONS package and an associated table. Use the package for creating a collection and adding members (rows) and use the table to query what's in your collection.
Essentially, here's what you need to do. Let's assume your multi-row form is on page one and you have a confirmation page on page 2:
    - Create a process that fires on submit of page one that uses create_or_truncate to create your collection.
    - In the same process, loop over your collection items and add them (as members) to the collection.
    - Make sure your multi-row form queries from the collections view. This way if you go to page 2, then back to page 1, you will see your rows. When you go to page 2 again, you can just over-write the existing collection. There's another option, but I'll list that later.
    - Create a process on page 2 to loop over the collection view and insert the rows into a table. Make this conditional based on the button you press, such as "Save".
    - Extra credit: Either the collections package or the htmlb_utilities package as an md5 function. You can call this when querying the data out of the collections table, then call it again as you are looping over the data on submit. Basically, you are checksumming the row on the way out, then again when the page is submitted. If the 2 are equal, the data is unchanged. If they are not equal, the data has changed. Based on your needs, you can use this technique to insert / update records. I have an app that uses this technique because I have a before update trigger on the table that I only want to fire if the user actually updates a particular row.
    Hope this helps,
    Tyler
