  • RSRV: Oracle statistics info table for table /BIC/FCube1 may be obsolete

    Hi,
I run RSRV on cube1 and got several yellow lines such as:
Oracle statistics info table for table /BIC/FCube1 may be OBSOLETE
Oracle statistics info table for table /BIC/SSalesOrg may be OBSOLETE
Oracle statistics info table for table /BIC/DCube1P may be OBSOLETE
DB statistics for Infocube Cube1 must be recreated.
I read here on SDN that running Correct Error in RSRV is only a temporay fix and that the best solution is to fix it from the database level with BRCONNECT.
But the DBA says she has already run BRCONNECT yet there was no change in these several of the lines which came out as Yellow.  ... still same OBSOLETE messages.
    1. Any additional sugestions to fix these problems at the database level?
    2. In case I decide to fix with Correct Error in RSRV, what issues can I encounter with the cube?
Can this lead to a failure of the cube?
Will users encounter any issues with report?
Does fixing the OBSOLETE in the error message in RSRV have any hazzards?
    Thanks

    Hi,
it is years of data but how do you decide that the data is huge to warrant creating a new cube?
    You noted that
"verify if it makes sense to copy the data into a new cube "
    How do I verify that?
Is creating a new cube the only solution to this OBSOLETE problem?
Why is it referring to only particular tables as OBSOLETE and doesn't that indicate that this is not a problem with the overall cube?
    Thanks

  • How to retrieve Statistics info from Crystal Report file

In Crystal Reports designer,  if you go to File|Summary Info that dialog has two tabs. The second tab is called "Statistics" which contains the following:
    Last Saved By
    Revision number
    Total Editing Time
    Last Printed
    Created
    Last Saved
How can I retrieve this information via either the .NET SDK or the RAS SDK?

    Hi David,
Actually I did understood your question. I did say that some of that info is available from the hard drive file system.
Use the Object Browser and find this source:
    public System.DateTime CreationTime { set; get; }
        Member of System.IO.FileSystemInfo
Looking at the properties you'll see all the info you are looking for is there. As I said, some of the info is available from the Summary API's and some are available from the file system. The file system is not CR but basic Microsoft API's. Search their help for more info on how to use them.
    Thank you

  • Get timing/statistics info.

    Hi,
I love the tree form of the explain plan output. Is there something similar for the output that would normally come from statistics and timing options? I'm doing a lot of query profiling lately, and it would be nice not to have to jump out to a character-based interface to get my statistical information.

I'm connecting through sql *plus or SQL Developer without client.

  • Any way to get more statistics and response-time info from cache processes?

I'm currently involved in an evaluation of Coherence for use as a global in-core cache/DB for data in the GB range. We'll try to run multiple cache process per cache in order to stay below 512MB heap-space per cache process.
In order to tune cache access times and understand the dynamic behaviour of the app we'd like to see some statistics info for cache access, e. g.
    - requests processed per cache (process)
    - requests answer time (per request, min, max, avg, median etc.)
    - request answer size (number of cache entries returned, size of entries etc.)
    - whatever else that helps ...
We are in position to get this kind of statistics info on the application side (when we call Coherence-APIs) but we'd need to see the statistics on a technical level per cache process.
We know about JMX/MBeans but that does not allow us to come up with log-files for statistical analysis and there is no way to correlate requests from the application to any statistics information (what request did cause what effect).
Any way to tell the cache processes to provide this kind of (logging) info (mesurements per request) and some summary.

    David,
In addition to statistics that you can collect at the client tier (measuring the latency of individual cache calls), you could use a number of attributes exposed by the ServiceMBean.
If you look at a ServiceMBean for your partitioned cache service, the RequestAverageDuration and RequestMaxDuration attributes describe the latency of the underlying communication tier as seen from the client and does not include the serialization/deseriation cost.
The TaskAverageDuration, TaskMaxBacklog and ThreadAverageActiveCount expose the latency and expenses as seen by the server side, excluding the network tier expenses.
Also, there are number of statistics exposed by the CacheMBean related to the underlying backing map efficiency such as AverageGetMillis, AverageHitMillis, AverageMissMillis and AveragePutMillis.
You can also create your own subclasses for backing map implementation and implement custom MBeans that would expose any addition information you wish to collect.

  • BW Statistics query with process chain run times.

    Hello Guru's,
We are using BW 3.5 system and the client have asked if it is possible to create a report in BW based out of the Statistics Cube that shows the current status of the Process Chains .i.e. the start/end time of specific process chains along with some sort of Exceptions to show successfully completed chains as 'Green', chains finishing with errors as 'red' and chains presently running as 'Yellow'.
I have seen such a report in my previous project, but that was using BI 7.0, I am not able to find such Statistics Info Cube in BW 3.5 which meets my requirements.
Has anybody created such a report in BW 3.5? If yes, would very much appreciate if you can share your way of approach with me.
    Thanks
    Arvind

    Hi Arvind,
Yes you can achieve this functionality using BW Technical Content. I already implemented this for one of our client. We have some Standard InfoProviders where in wee can get the Start and End time of chains. You can build a query on these Cubes & Multiprovider and there in create exceptions to reflect which step got completed with in stipulated time limit and which took longer than usual......u can display those time statistics in different colour.
Here are soem cubes names from BW Technical content which may meet your requirement specification:
    1. 0TCT_C01
    2. 0TCT_C02
    3. 0TCT_CA1
    4. 0TCT_C23
    5. 0TCT_C21
    Hope it helps

  • Is there something wrong with my battery? (have battery charge info)

Have had my Macbook Pro for a year and a half now, and thought I was having over-heating problems a few months ago but they said it was "normal." But lately I have been noticing that with a full charge the battery will only last (on average) 1.5-2.5 hours (not video, just school work internet browsing and typing documents), and that's not as good as it was when I originally bought it...in fact, much worse (as I know batterys diminish over time).
Here is the battery info: (from coconutBattery)
    Current Battery Charge: 3900 mAh
    Maximum Battery Charge: 4187 mAh
    Current Battery Capacity: 4187 mAh
    Original Battery Capacity: 5500 mAh
    Battery-Loadcycles: 339
Age of your Mac: 17 Months
So the max battery charge has dropped from 5500 mAh to nearly 4000 mAh in just over 300 loadcycles? That seems a little more than "average"...and it just feels that the battery is draining quite quickly.
I have Applecare extended warranty, will this be covered based on the battery statistics info? Or am I just over-reacting?

The battery in your specific machine should generally hold its full charge up to about 300 cycles depending on use... then it will drop down to roughly 80% and gradually decline. Going from a capacity of 5500 mAh to 4187 mAh is a drop of about 24% (or about 76% of the original capacity). These numbers aren't really out of wack for normal battery wear. Some people will experience slightly worse... others slightly better... but I don't see an issue considering the age and cycle count on your battery.

  • Issue with Export of 4.6D System

    Hi guys,
I am trying to run an export on 4.6D using Oracle 9.2, but unfortunately I get the following message in my INSTGUI..
Would anyone have any ideas on how to solve this issue?
I've read that we need to check if the users have permissions or are locked, but how would one do that, and which users must I look at?
    Thanks!

  • Problem converting air-ap1131ag-a-k9 to Lwapp

i have a person on my team who converted some autonomoous air-ap1131ag-a-k9 to lwapp. I don't think they did it right.
what they did is , booted the ap ( at this point it was running in autonomous mode), set the ip to 192.168.1.200 and their laptop to 192.168.1.100 connected the laptop directly to the AP. (I have found out that these AP's were old AP's that previously had configs on them, ( static ips, a whole config) they came from another building , they were the ones that other lwapps replaced.)
they then went to the web gui of the AP , went to software upgrade and loaded the lwapp recovery image on the ap (c1130-rcvk9w8-tar.124-10b.JA3.tar). the software loaded fine, and converted the AP . and thats all they did
(I had mentioned that we should use the upgrade tool, but they didn't listen)
the aps got mounted , on the ceiling in the hospital, but when they went to turn them on, they didnt show up right on the controller , they kept joining and unjoining..
i think there is a problem with the SSC, i remember, something like the time had to be the same on the ap and on the WLC.
anyways, these could be older AP's before 2005 ( unknown to me) which would mean they dont hav MIC's and have SSC. and the ap is refusing them is my thought.
the WLC is setup to accept self signed certs.
    anyways...
these aps are now mounted on the ceilings , and when you do a show cdp nei, it has an ip address from when it was an autonomous ap.
Also, what is the best process you have found to convert Old autonomous 1131 AP's to lightweight mode?
    thanks
the controller is running 4.2.176 WLC code. i currently don't have Access to WCS or a spare controller to use with the upgrade utility.
    the controller is a 4404-100

i went to the wlc and issued the command
    debug lwapp events enable
    i got the following output

  • Reindex Container in dbxml shell.

    Hello,
I am in the process of upgrading from 2.3.10 to 2.4.13. In the release notes, I read the following:
"Most queries will benefit from reindexing 2.3.X-based containers to add new structural statistics information used in query cost analysis. Reindexing is required in order to enable the substring index to be used on 1- and 2-character strings (a new feature in 2.4)."
OK, so I would like to have these statistics info added. According one of the other documents, I need the following parameters:
    name
The path to the container to be reindexed.
    context
The update context to use for the reindex operation.
    flags
Use DBXML_INDEX_NODES to change the container's index type to node indexes, and use DBXML_NO_INDEX_NODES to change the index type to document indexes. Use DBXML_STATISTICS to add a structural statistics database to the container during reindexing, and DBXML_NO_STATISTICS to remove an existing structural statistics database.
The name of my container is system, but what should I use for context when I use it in the dbxml shell?
    dbxml> reindexContainer system ????? DBXML_STATISTICS
What goes on the place of the ????.
As a general note, it would be helpful to add examples of commands to execute when upgrading from one version to the next.
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Regards,
    Bas.

    Bas
The syntax used by the dbxml shell is different from that of the C++ API. The syntax for the shell for reindexContainer is:
    dbxml> reindexContainer <containerName> <d|n>
To get the syntax and description of any command just use the following in the shell:
    dbxml> help <command>
Although, it appears that the shell cannot be used to add the statistics database to your container. To do that you will have to write a small program that uses the C++ API.

  • What is run stats in bw ?

    Hi guys
i have heard a lot of ppl talk about running stats but what does it actualy mean, and how do u run stats.
please explain what running stats does in the background.
    thanks

    Dear ADNAN ZAFAR ,
When you create BW statistics the statistics will be created in the DB allowing the optimizer to elaborate the querying plan.
BW Statistics is a tool for recording and reporting system activity and
    performance information.
BW Statistics gives information about queries, loads, compresses, etc. It's all very good stuff.
The BW OLAP Statisitcs are great way to see what is really going on in your BW. You can also get a lot of the query statistics from ST03N in Expert mode, e.g. how many times a query ran last week, avg run time, avg nbr of rows selected, etc.
The BW statistics info comes from a group of tables that start with RSDDSTAT. So if you are not loading the BW Statistics cubes, you can browse these tables. RSDDSTAT has the very granular info on each query that runs - how it performed, who ran it, when, etc. It would be a good expereience to browse RSDDSTAT to see what's there.
You can refresh statistics for an InfoCube from the BW Admin workbench from one of the tabs under Manage.
For a SQL statement, many execution plans are possible. The database optimizer
generates the most efficient execution plan based on either the heuristic ranking of
available execution plans or the cost calculation of available execution plans.
Statistics is the information that the cost-based optimizer uses to calculate the cost of available execution plans and select the most appropriate one for execution.
BW uses the cost-base optimizer for Oracle databases

for infocubes there is program called
    SAP_ANALYZE_ALL_INFOCUBES
it gathers statistical information for all tables related to infocubes, including masterdata & aggregates.
it is multi cube named 0BWTC_C10, it contains six basic cubes, each of which stores specific performance information.
in tcode DB20 we can see the statistics of the cube by entering the f fact name.
for bw statictics refer the note 309955.
for DB statictics refer the note 588668.
    Also

    also
DB statistics are used by the optimizer for retrieving data on database level. It is the one of the aspect to tune query performance also.
Every time you upload data into info cube you must do DB statistics.
DB statistics is to refresh the database statistics of the table of InfoProviders
(You can also see that in the manage cube / performance tab)

  • Queries/Workbook USAGE

    Hi,
My task is to find out least used queries & workbooks so we can clean up unused queries & workbook.  I ran BW STATS queries on 0BWTC_C10 and able to see some information on queries but I can't find any information for Workbooks like usage, Last Used date etc. from BC queries that are build on BW statistics Info Cubes & Multi provider.
Where we can find these type of information??
I would appreciate if some one can helo on this issue as it is very urget and need to give status by end of today.
    Thanks

    Dear all,
Can anybody suggest me, what is the best method to analyze and check the abnormal growth of database?
Currently our database size is 3.8 Tera , we have more then 1300 concurrent users and we are collecting statistics info on daily basis from DB02, ST04, ST10, and program RSSTAT10.
Can any body suggest me an answer with regards to various options available?

    Mohammed,
Lot's of work to do. No easy fix for that.
As far as GLPCA you need to work with application teams to do data archiving. As far as I know, this is the only way you can shrunk this table.
TST* tables are spool/temse related tables. You can go over OSS notes 160083 48400 and make sure that spool and temse consistence check jobs are running periodically based on your company's retention period limitations.
CDCLS (data table) is change pointer related. You can get more maeningful information on CDHDR ( header table) such as how old data is out there. You need change pointer deletion/reorganization or archiving jobs scheduled. I do not have OSS notes handy but check OSS and schedule changepointer deletion jobs based on your company's retention period requirements.
After running cleanup jobs, do not forget to run an analyze table statement at the DB level and see how much space you have gained. If it is more than 40%, I recommend full table reorganization otherwise unbalanced indexes might cause you performance loss and you cannot allocate the space back to tablespace as freespace to be shared by other tables.
    Good luck!

  • 1250AP's with 4400 Controllers - LWAPP WAN Bandwidth consumption

Does anyone know and, preferably, have a link on how much bandwidth a Lightweight AP consumes when deployed across a WAN link? I know Cisco keeps saying no more then 8 across a WAN managed by a centralized controller, but I can't find anything specific. Thanks so much in advance.

There's a lot of components in LWAPP packets which will vary according to different situation.check this for LWAPP detail: http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-ohara-capwap-lwapp-02
actually, A discovery request packet is 97 bytes (including the 4 byte FCS),A discovery response packet is 106 bytes (including the 4 byte FCS), Packet sizes for the join request and response messages will vary based on the MTU supported by the transport(1596 or 1596+1500),The initial exchange between the AP and the WLC (ap-manager interface) is approximately 6,000 bytes and a one-time configuration change averages 360 bytes and involves 2 packets each from the AP and the
WLC's ap-manager interface. An RRM-related information exchange takes place once the AP has been provisioned. A typical exchange
between the AP and the WLC (ap-manager interface) is approximately 1400 bytes. In the event of an RRM-related configuration change, there is a four-packet exchange between the AP and the WLC's apmanager
interface. This exchange averages 375 bytes. The system heartbeat, coupled with fallback mechanism, is 4 packets every 30
seconds and comprises of the following packets:
LWAPP ECHO_REQUEST from AP (78 bytes)
LWAPP Echo-Response to AP (64 bytes)
LWAPP PRIMARY_DISCOVERY_REQ from AP (93 bytes)
LWAPP Primary Discovery-Response to AP (97 bytes).
There are two ongoing RRM exchanges. The first one, at every 60-second interval is the load and signal
measurement and consists of 4 packets. This exchange always adds up to 396 bytes, as following:
LWAPP RRM_DATA_REQ from AP (107 bytes)
LWAPP Airewave-Director-Data Response to AP (64 bytes)
LWAPP RRM_DATA_REQ from AP (161 bytes)
LWAPP Airewave-Director-Data Response to AP (64 bytes)
The second sequence of packets is the noise measurement (including a statistics information request and
response sequence) done every 180 seconds. This is a short (0.01 seconds typically) exchange of packets
and averages 2,660 bytes approximately. It consists of the following packets:
    LWAPP RRM_DATA_REQ from AP
    LWAPP Airewave-Director-Data Response to AP
    LWAPP RRM_DATA_REQ from AP
    LWAPP Airewave-Director-Data Response to AP
    LWAPP RRM_DATA_REQ from AP
    LWAPP Airewave-Director-Data Response to AP
    LWAPP RRM_DATA_REQ from AP
    LWAPP Airewave-Director-Data Response to AP
    LWAPP STATISTICS_INFO from AP
    LWAPP Statistics-Info Response to AP
    LWAPP RRM_DATA_REQ from AP
    LWAPP Airewave-Director-Data Response to AP
    LWAPP RRM_DATA_REQ from AP
    LWAPP Airewave-Director-Data Response to AP
    LWAPP RRM_DATA_REQ from AP 00:14:1b:59:41:80
    LWAPP Airewave-Director-Data Response to AP
    LWAPP RRM_DATA_REQ from AP
    LWAPP Airewave-Director-Data Response to AP
    LWAPP STATISTICS_INFO from AP
    LWAPP Statistics-Info Response to AP.
Rogue measurements are done as a part of the scanning mechanism (for more details, refer to the Auto RF
and Rogue Detection whitepapers) and included in the above RRM exchange every 180 seconds.
The LWAPP data frame header adds 6 bytes to the existing 802.11 packets.
Since LWAPP frames can be fragmented, a Fragment ID field is included and the total packet size can be
determined by adding the original frame and the IP Fragment that follows (It is important to note that the IP
Fragment that follows is not encapsulated in any LWAPP headers).
In conclusion, operation of LWAPP does not introduce heavy bandwidth requirements on the infrastructure and in most typical deployments, there would be no such need to add extra capacity to the infrastructure to accommodate Cisco's Unified Wireless Architecture.
