Statistics process chain

All,
Could we modify BI statstics process chain as I've seen some discreapncy in the chain like in ACR they does not included anything.
And what is the frequency of BI statistics master data.Pls advice
Thanks
R

For frequency of statistics loads, that's completely dependent upon your reporting reqiurements. If you only need to have this data available and wish to analyze weekly, then weekly is appropriate. We happen to execute it daily.
Modifying delivered Process Chains to meet your requirements is completely acceptable. The delivered Process Chains contain everything, usually, and if you're not using portions of it, then it makes sense to remove that portion from the Process Chain because it's using up resources that could otherwise be used elsewhere.

    hi
go to table RSLDPIOSH enter the infopackage technical name you have mentionned.
take note of the OLTPSOURCE name
then go to rsds replicate and activate.
After that take the technical names of the process chains go to business content installation and reactivate theses chains (with option only necessary objects)
    This will solve you issue
The reason of your error is the following, some master data datasources from the bi statistics business content is delivered in 3.x and some other with 7 therefore you have a mix up with the dataflows.

  • When to use the "construct database statistics" process chain' item

    Hello, everybody.
    Information 1:
In our BW system we have a job from DBA guys that build statistcs for the entire database. This job runs every day in the dawn.
    Information 2:
In several process chain flows, we use the item "Construct Database Statistics" to update the statistics after cube upload.
    Information 3:
I checked the log from both jobs and found several tables analyzed in first and second cases.
    The question:
Is this step inside the process chain unnecessary? Exist any situation when this step is useful?
    Thanks in advance,

  • Statistics technical content activation issue with MD process chain in BI7

    Hi,
Let me give you history of the issue first.
I had to activate the Statistics in BI7. I followed the SAP Note 965386 and activated the Technical Content.
Faced activation issues in MD process chain, Content Master Data-0TCT_MD_C_FULL_P01. It dint get activated, Followed the SAP note 1065919, which asked me to remove the below process from RSPC and activate it.
Load data- Process Variant Attribute and
    Load data- Process Variant Text.
I did the same and it got activated after removing them.
Issue is. Later knew that manually activating the Process chain from Content would have activated those Infopackages aswell.
Now how should I get those processes into the chain and activate? Based on your suggestions, I can let you know what all I have been trying to fix it?
    Relying on you for solution.
    Thanks
    Pavan

    Thank You Neethika,
I have this issue solved. I replicated the data sources, activated those infoPackages manually and then added those variants into the process chain manually. So my MD chain now has all the necessary process.
Now i need to schedule them and see if it runs with out any errors. I will keep this thread open till i run it to take your help if i get any errors while running them.
    Thanks

  • Where will I specify process chain and query time statistics to be loaded .

I am on BI 7.0. I see on my system, BI Statistics Technical Content has been installed because when I run
RSDDSTAT transaction under Info Provides I see cubes such as 0TCT_C01, oTC_C02, oTCT_C03,  oTCT_MC01, 0TCT_VC01..
I also see process chains installed on my system such as oTCT_C2_INIT_P01,  oTCT_C2_DELTA_P01.
I see various RSDDSTAT* tables being populated on my system as well.
    My questions are:
    1.     How does data gets populated in 0TCT_C01, C02 etc? Is it by scheduling TC process chains or there are other means?
    2.      Where does one specify what kind of statistics will be copied from RSDDSTAT* tables. My IT lead tells me that process chain statistics are not being collected. I also thing query times are not being populated  in 0TCT tables. Where can I specify what should be loaded in these cubes.
    3.     Does ST03N transaction display data from 2.
    THANKS A LOT.

    Hi,
    1.     How does data gets populated in 0TCT_C01, C02 etc? Is it by scheduling TC process chains or there are other means?
You can find the DataSource in RSA1. For example, 0TCT_C01 is updated from 0TCT_DS01. And you need to schedule process chain 0TCT_C0_DELTA_P01 for query statistics and 0TCT_C2_DELTA_P01 for data load statistics on a regular basis. Of course, as they are delta chains, you need to first run initializaiton chains for just one time before scheduling delta chains. The initialization chains are 0TCT_C0_INIT_P01 and 0TCT_C2_INIT_P01.
    2.      Where does one specify what kind of statistics will be copied from RSDDSTAT* tables. My IT lead tells me that process chain statistics are not being collected. I also thing query times are not being populated in 0TCT tables. Where can I specify what should be loaded in these cubes.
As I know, the statistics data are first stored in RSDDSTAT* tables. For example, query data are stored in RSDDSTAT_OLAP. And the data are loaded to corresponding cubes when you executing InfoPackages.
You can refer to this link and search "Recording BI Statistics" in this page:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/44/3521c7bae848a1e10000000a114a6b/content.htm
    3.     Does ST03N transaction display data from 2.
Yes. If BI Statistics content are not activate you would be unable to view statistics data in ST03N.
Let us know if you have other questions.

  • Why process chains for BI statistics Technical Content are not showing in 0

I am looking into 0TCT_MC21 which shows process statistics from 0TCT_C21 and 0TC_VC21.
I know process chains such as 0TCT_C2_DELTA_PO1,  0TCT_C2_INIT_PO1 have been run, yet
They do not show in 0TCT_MC21 which included  real time data (via virtual cube) as well as
    Collected data 0TCT_C21u2026
Do I have to specify somewhere on which process chains statistics are to be collected, if yes, how??
    Thanks.

  • DB statistics - Use of 'Construct Database Statistics ' in process chain

    Hello,
I would like to know the differences (or is it complementar ?) between:
    - using Business content Statistics cubes + Tools / BW statistics for infoproviders
    - variant 'Construct Database Statistics' that can be used in process chains
Have the 2 techniques to be used together ?
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards

    Hi Thomas,
Statistics should get loaded in the Business content Statistics cubes .........now by using the process type 'Construct Database Statistics' we can automate the process............actually ...........The DB Statistics options for the InfoCube allow to collect current DB statistics about the tables associated with the InfoCube............the collection of statistics can be automated.........

  • DB statistics failed in Process Chains

    Hi BI Experts,
We are maintaining 6 process chains in our system.
Today every job was running successfully.
But in every process chains, the DB STATISTICS are failed. When I check in the performance tab , it shows green.
So i could not solve this problem.
    The log message is:
The exception 'CX_SDB_ORA_PROGRAM_ERROR' was raised, but it was not caught
         anywhere along
        the call hierarchy.
Since exceptions represent error situations and this error was not
adequately responded to, the running ABAP program
         'CL_SDB_ORA_UPDATE_STATS=======CP' has to be
        terminated.
Please can anyone tell me the process.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Anjali

    Hi Anjali,
Check the OSS Note 998904 - Statistics check shows red or yellow traffic lights.
I am pasting the contents of the Note here:
    Symptom
After an update statistics run, the check (in transaction RSRV or transaction RSA1--> Manage) continues to show yellow or red traffic lights.
    Other terms
RSDU_ANALYZE, analyze, statistics, yellow traffic light, red traffic light, performance, RSRV, incorrect statistics, manage
    Reason and Prerequisites
This problem is caused by a program error.
    Solution
The check for current statistics on InfoCubes contains a static time query and as a result of this, statistics are incorrectly displayed as 'not current'. This is just a display problem.  After an update statistics run, the statistics are actually up to date.

Import Support Package 10 for SAP NetWeaver 2004s BI (BI Patch 10 or SAPKW70010) into your BI system. The Support Package is available once Note 914304 "SAPBINews BI 7.0 Support Package 10", which describes this Support Package in more detail, has been released for customers.
In urgent cases, you can implement the correction instructions.
You must first implement Notes 932065, 935140, 948389, 964580 and 969846, which provide information about transaction SNOTE. Otherwise, problems and syntax errors may occur when you deimplement some notes.
To provide information in advance, the notes mentioned above may already be available before the Support Package is released. In this case, the short text of the note still contains the words "Preliminary version".
Before you implement an advance correction (if one exists and you want to implement it), see Note 875986. It contains notes regarding the SAP Note Assistant. These notes prevent problems during the implementation.

  • BW Statistics query with process chain run times.

    Hello Guru's,
We are using BW 3.5 system and the client have asked if it is possible to create a report in BW based out of the Statistics Cube that shows the current status of the Process Chains .i.e. the start/end time of specific process chains along with some sort of Exceptions to show successfully completed chains as 'Green', chains finishing with errors as 'red' and chains presently running as 'Yellow'.
I have seen such a report in my previous project, but that was using BI 7.0, I am not able to find such Statistics Info Cube in BW 3.5 which meets my requirements.
Has anybody created such a report in BW 3.5? If yes, would very much appreciate if you can share your way of approach with me.
    Thanks
    Arvind

    Hi Arvind,
Yes you can achieve this functionality using BW Technical Content. I already implemented this for one of our client. We have some Standard InfoProviders where in wee can get the Start and End time of chains. You can build a query on these Cubes & Multiprovider and there in create exceptions to reflect which step got completed with in stipulated time limit and which took longer than usual......u can display those time statistics in different colour.
Here are soem cubes names from BW Technical content which may meet your requirement specification:
    1. 0TCT_C01
    2. 0TCT_C02
    3. 0TCT_CA1
    4. 0TCT_C23
    5. 0TCT_C21
    Hope it helps

  • BW statistics for Process chains

    Hi All.
We want to do some analysis on our process chains... like which process chains takes the longest to run, which InfoPackages (or other steps) in a process chain takes up most of the time etc...
The BW statistics cubes like 0BWTC_C05 keeps nice statistics on these types of things, but the infopackage (0TCTIPAKID) is not linked to a process chain.
Does anyone know how to get pass this problem, or  know of an alternative method to do this analysis.
    Greetings
    Rudolph
(Points will be awarded as always)

    Hi Rudolph,
You can get the log id for your process chain run in table RSPCLOGCHAIN. Give this log id as the input parameter for the function module RSPC_RUNTIME_ANALYSIS. You will get the runtimes of all infopackages involved in the process chain.
    Hope this helps,
    Sudhakar.

  • Process Chain statistics (new stats in 2004s)

    Hi,
We have activated and are loading all stats (new ones) for 2004s.  We are checking the stats through the portal.  We have many stats showing in the default web templates used in the portal to display stats.  Process Chain stats are the only ones showing no data...which can't be true because we have only been loading with process chains.
Where do you "activate" stats for Process chains themselves?  I am aware of RSPC_API_CHAIN_GET_STATUS, but it appears with 2004s, delivered is a process chain statistics?
    Thanks,  Mark.

For data-load statistics of process chains and processes:
    use 0TCT_C21, 0TCT_VC21 and 0TCT_MC21
    For more Insights -
    The new InfoProviders are:
For more highly aggregated query-runtime statistics:
    0TCT_C01, 0TCT_VC01 and 0TCT_MC01
    These replace InfoCube 0BWTC_C02.
    For more detailed query-runtime statistics:
    0TCT_C02, 0TCT_VC02 and 0TCT_MC02
    These replace InfoCube 0BWTC_C02.
    For data manager statistics:
    0TCT_C03, 0TCT_VC03 and 0TCT_MC03
    These replace InfoCube 0BWTC_C03.
For data-load statistics of process chains and processes:
    0TCT_C21, 0TCT_VC21 and 0TCT_MC21
For data-load statistics of data transfer processes:
    0TCT_C22, 0TCT_VC22 and 0TCT_MC22
    For data-load statistics of InfoPackages:
    0TCT_C23, 0TCT_VC23 and 0TCT_MC23
These deliver essentially the same information as InfoCube 0BWTC_C05 but they use the new InfoObjects. The remaining new InfoProviders also use the new InfoObjects.
For the current data-load status of process chains and processes:
    0TCT_VC11 and 0TCT_MC11
For the current status of requests loaded to InfoProviders, InfoObjects that have been updated flexibly, and PSA tables:
    0TCT_VC11 and 0TCT_MC11
    Hope it Helps

  • Process Chain Statistics

    hi,
    I am workign on BI7.0/SP09.
There are many process chains running in my system daily, but not able to capture the process chain statistics (Cube is 0TCT_C22). When ran datasource 0TCT_DS21 in t-code RSA3, it shows no records extracted. Now unlike Infoprovider, queries and Web template, there is no option to start the statictics of process chain. For others, we can start the statictics via menu --> tools --> Setting for BI statistics.
Also I checked the table RSPCLOGCHAIN, there are many records in it and also field ANALYZED_STATUS is properly filled with values.
Now what to do? Please advice ASAP as struggling with this since long time.

    PS

    Process Chain Statistics Tables:
    - RSPCLOGCHAIN, RSPCPROCESSLOG
    <b>Data Flow</b>

  • Re: Statistics Query for Total runtimes for Process Chain incorrect

    Hi Guys,
I am building a Query for Total runtimes for Process Chain Statistics. I used the Cube 0TCT_MC21 for Query - 0TCT_MC21_Q0101.
I dragged in Keyfigure section - startdate, end date, Start time are all correct and fine but the End time (0TCTENDTIM) is coming incorrect. Is something else i should use to get the End time?
Please let me know if any suggestions?
    Regards

Just check if the end times are in GMT ?? usually happens with timestamps....

  • Process Chains for BW Statistics (Technical Content)

    Hi Guys,
Just a quick question - anyone know of any Business Content Process Chains for BW Statistics?
I can't seem to find any - but just looking for confirmation that none exist and I will then have to built my own.

    Hi,
Yes, you have to build your own. Thats the same scenario we faced too.

  • Collecting Process Chain Statistics

    Hi anyone,
I'm looking to write some ABAP Code to collect Process Chain Statistics so they can be coherently evaluated and not by looking at the process chains individually. I'll be looking to identify variances in # of records, load times, etc. so I can send out alerts.
I've been able to collect a lot of Process Chain Process information so far using existing API and FM calls.  I'm able to get down to the Process Log Levels so far, but I'm trying to think how to go about collecting the actual key figures I need.
<b>I'm looking to capture things like the following:</b>
    - Statistics of each process chain and related process chain process like I need to know that my ODS activation started @ 10am actived 10,000 records and ended at 10:01 am. (how long it took).
    - I need to know that my data load loaded 1,000 records and how long it took.
    - I need to know that my rollup compressed x number of records and took how long.. Etc, Etc, Etc.
I know the BI Administration Cockpit in 2004s might provide some/most of this information, but it isn't an option right now.
The way I see it I really only 1 option with a 2nd potential option:
    1. Most likely option is to write a program to go out and collect the statistics for all the processes executing the program on a scheduled basis.
    2.  Modify/Copy the process chain process classes to somehow output the statistics I need.  No idea how I would do this yet.
So again I am currently down to the process level logs and just don't know how to collect the statistical key figures I need like how many records were loaded, compressed, activated, etc...  I'm thinking of somehow parsing the logs to get the key figures, but that seems like it would be difficult.
Anyone have any suggestions or ideas how to collect this information so I can report on it?
I posted this here because I thought the bw abappers would frequent this area.  Also, If anyone thinks this would be better suited in another forum then please suggest.
    Thanks,
    Ken Murray
