Statistics\Reporting from a Wireless Conrtoller
After explaining all of our requirenments to the local Cisco Partner they prepared a quote and we purchased a Cisco 5508 Wireless Controller and 6 Aironet 1141 wireless access points. The wireless coverage in the building is great.
The problem is, we paid over $10,000 and one of the big reasons we upgraded is that I really need to get statistics. How many devices are using the wireless over a period of time. I need to be able to report how many and what type of user are accessing our wireless on a monthly basis.
I cannot find a way to do it from the software on the Wireless Controller and now theCisco partner has no clue how to get that information for us either.
Has anyone else found a way to do this?
Thanks,
Anna
Hi Anna,
We can use Either Cisco WCS or NCS for this or u can go for any freeware SNMP walk tool on Google and use WLC MIBS on the same.. however... these can answer only the first part of ur question that is..how many and what type of user are accessing our wireless on a monthly basis.
But i am not sure of any device on this earth telling us what type of device users are accessing.. may be this will give u the MAC address and then using OUI i thing u need to get the vendor information..
Please dont forget to rate the usefull posts!!

Deleting Discoverer report from Admin
Hi,
We have exported a discoverer report using Admin from a database D1.
Then imported that report using admin in another database D2.
But i couldn't see the report in the desktop of database D2....don't know why....
Can anybody sugggest a way to delete this report from Admin of database D2 ?
Thank youThanks for the reply.
Actually we were not able to see the report in the desktop though we tried in different ways.
So we did the following to delete the report from Admin using command prompt as follows
dis4adm.exe /connect <eulowner>/<eulowner password>@<database> /delete /workbook "<workbook name>"
where "<workbook name>" is either "EUL Data Definition" or "Query Statistics". -
I am unable to stream Netflix to my Iphone or Apple TV, from my wireless router . . . even though I am able to watch Netflix on my WII (also wireless) and desktop computer (not wireless).
On the Iphone and Apple TV I can connect to Netflix . . . it recognizes me and my account settings . . . and I can veiw all my recent programs and show titles, descriptions, etc.. But when I select one to watch I get a message saying:
"ERROR A PROBLEM OCCURED WHILE PLAYING THIS ITEM. TRY AGAIN LATER, OR SELECT A DIFFERENT ITEM. GO TO WWW.NETFLIX.COM/SUPPORT FOR MORE INFORMATION. (139)
Netflix support say there is nothing wrong on their end . . . that it is an Apple issue. They see the request for the show, the devices are registered . . . but it shows 0 bandwidth to the device.
My Apple TV did this when I first hooked it up a couple of weeks ago. Then after a few days started working with Netflix, for no apparent change . . . now doesn't again for the past couple of days (I think that it auto restarted the other night after a virus scan).
Very frustrating, and driving me nuts! Has anyone else had and been able to resolve this problem?Troubleshooting
Apple TV2 update one day and netflix is browsing but not launching the actual content (error 139)
Ipad2 (another ios device) forces me to update netflix if I want to use it and I get the same error 139 on it.
**** now I have two not ways not working where prior to some update it was fine.
Nintendo Wii is still working ( mind you running an ancient version of netflix ) Dusted the Wii off and gave it to the kids use. Now they are happy again...
PC is also still working ( using some other flash client ) but that's just of interest, we're not going to be watching tv with that.
My wife's iphone 4s is still working. Odd.. still ios but for somereason I am not forced to update the version. So basically she could mirror stream up to the apple tv with it. Nice feature of Ios5. Later found out it is using 1.4 version of netflix. The most useful thing out of that is that all 3 of the devices are Ios and it was actually the iphone with the 1.4 version of netflix that still worked!
I heard from a friend who was on a different ISP he was still working so I took my appletv2 and ipad2 over to my brothers house who is on that same ISP as my friend and both started working. So the ISP is involved too!
Brought the appletv2 and ipad2 back to my house hoping it would maybe still work. No dice Broken again.
Searched the appstore for a decent packet analyzer and there isn't really anything. I was able to sniff the traffic with my PC and also on my juniper ssg5 confirmed that. Turns out port 80 traffic is actually failing and authorization is not happening. The other clients do not do this...
Asked a buddy from work who used to work at the ISP if he could make a call to some one who might actually know what is going on. He came back pretty quick and said yea they are trying really hard to get the beta patch in from Bluecoat asap.
So knowing that it was actually Netflix that changed when it hit 2.0 and in my case the ISP made the adjustment it's pretty safe to say this issue is going to be ongoing unless netflix changes again the way they authorize for licenses.
So that's the summary of what went right down the troubleshooting path but I'll tell what what didn't
2 calls to Netflix (useless... waste of time... they are too quick to blame anyone but themselves)
1 call to apple support (support call was going to cost more than it cost for me to change ISPs)
2 calls to ISP (through the normal means - regular support number)
So why is this intermittantly working sometimes? If you are lucky enough to authorize to an IP address that is not cached they voila you are going to get an authorization / a license to watch the show. Some people report after defribulating their appletv (reseting, rebooting, dns changes, you name it) they get it working. Over the past month we all seem to have got it working for some period of time only to lose it a day to two later.
It's now been several days since the beta patch to the bluecoat and 4 of us who have been communicating on the issue appear to be online all at the same time for those several days and that is a good sign that we might be out of the woods on the issue.
Hope this turns into something helpful for someone else out there. -

Hi all Experts,
Early watch report from SAP has suggested to delete data from BW statics table but has not specified any frequency of deleting data like 15 days, 30 days.
at present we have Number of entries in table RSDDSTAT_OLAP is 1095081 and Number of entries in RSDDSTAT_DM is 151687.
so my questions is that how to delete these data from table.
There is a program RSDDSTAT_DATA_DELETE which can be sheduled in background to delete data from these tables.
but I am not sure how many months of data should be stored in these tables, and if I delete data from these table how it will affect the delta loads for BW statistics cube.
there is one program which can automatically delete data from these tables
Use the report se38-->SAP_RSADMIN_MAINTAIN to set the parameter
object = TCT_KEEP_OLAP_DM_DATA_N_DAYS
Value = 14 (Default ..)
Please advice which option should I use.
I am in BI7 versionHI
I scheduled Program to delete data which is older than 30 days.
now my problem is solved -

BEA-473225: Aggregator rejected statistics reported by server...
I am getting occasional errors and warnings associated with the WLI-Monitoring Runtime subsystem in my WebLogic logs supporting my ALSB installation. Errors and warnings include:
BEA-473224 Aggregator did not receive statistics from...
BEA-473225 Aggregator rejected statistics reported by...
BEA-473233 Timer (checkpoint) has been triggered...
I could not find reference to these errors in any message manual. Can anyone provide additional insigt into what these messages indicate?I am using ALSB version 2.6. Of the three errors (warnings) mentioned in my original post, the one occurring most often is BEA-473233. I see this warning just about every two hours. About once or twice a day it does seem to work and no warning message is generated. The other two messages (BEA-473224 and BEA-473225) have shown up about 12 times each in the last 2 weeks.
I did find reference to these messages in the ALSB documentation, but their description is a bit thin. The messages appear to indicate some sort of communcation issue between the managed servers, but I cannot detect any adverse impact from these messages. There is no other indication of communication issues between the managed servers in the cluster that I can see. -
Non-Immersive Endpoints Call Statistics Reports - jitter, packet loss
Hi,
We are trying to have reports from calls of Non-Immersive Endpoints. We need to have info about jitter and packet loss.
I know it is saved in the logs in file called call_history.txt and available via Web interface under "Diagnostics - Call History".
Issue is how to collect/download such data from Non-Immersive Endpoint automatically. I am not talking about download logs, extract the files, go to specific folder and open specific file.
We have such reports for Immersive Endpoints because Call Statistics are included in MIB.
Any idea/experience to collect such data from Non-Immersive Systems?
Many thanks,
Josef@Raju_raju
Many thanks for this - its what I expected but its still disappointing to hear. I think Microsoft are missing a trick here, even WebRTC (in Chrome at least) and most other conferencing applications have call statistics built in.
The lack of true real time monitoring in Lync out of the box worries me somewhat. I know that there might be third party options, including Microsoft's own SCOM (which of course, not everybody uses), but I would like to see some real time monitoring of this
real time system as part of its native functionality. True stats available at the client would still be a great help - even if it meant a ALT+Click type procedure.
I need to dig deeper into the normal Lync monitoring options but I'm used to environments where we can analyse each "video hop" as often, there are specific network segments that cause glitches. For instance, in a call where media is routed via
an edge, I would liek to see the stats on the leg from the client to the edge then from the edge to the FEP or Director etc.
Thanks for the heads up on the Snooper documentation. I have read this page previously but will re-visit, yet this is somewhat over kill for some basic real time statistical output.
@Eric - Great table. I must say I have never come across this and it certainly has useful stuff. I can almost understand why Microsoft shows the simplistic feedback by default, but for an advanced user or engineer having to look up the dumbed down feedback
against such a table is simply a waste of time. The actually stats (including both percentage and raw packet loss data) is eminently more useful and immediate.
Microsoft - are you listening?

Web Monitor - Statistics available from
Hi
I'm trying to generate some user statistics via the Web Monitor, however it is only able to return statistics available from the 1st January 2014. However the logs files go back to May 2012.
I've set the "Maximum Report Size" to the max allowed limit of 65535 and saved and reactivated the configuration but I'm still having the same issue.
Am i missing a trick somewhere?
Any help appreciated. The log tells us NOTHING about why the stats arent working.
In the admin interface we get the following error mesage when trying to view the stats
Error
Failure obtaining statistics from Web Cache cache server: bad response code received.
Please check that the cache server is up and running.
BUT the cahce IS running and we can access pages and the "LOGS" DO show activity.
Any idea WHY the admin page won't display the statistics

Video streaming of DRM movies, purchased from iTunes and other vendors, to any iOS device is not working.
I am not sure if you really understand the issue at hand. Possibly that you are just scanning, not reading the whole text, or simply that you just want to close a thread with your last words or derail it for whatever strange reason. So far you have been more destructive than helpful, but again this could be ignorance at best.
If you would have had the decency to read the entire thread you would have come to the conclusion that every manufacturer, I came across, has posted FAQ's to this issue but Apple. Find a short excerpt below:
SeaGate http://knowledge.seagate.com/articles/en_US/FAQ/006135en?language=en_US <http://knowledge.seagate.com/articles/en_US/FAQ/006135en?language=en_US> Playing DRM (Digital Rights Management) protected movies in Seagate Media App Information regarding remote streaming of DRM protected movies. Most forms of DRM (Digital Rights Management) will prevent playing movies on unauthorized devices or from remote storage hosted on wireless drives or NAS drives(Seagate Wireless, Seagate Wireless Plus, Seagate Central or Seagate Personal Cloud). Movies purchased from iTunes can be streamed to iOS 6 and iOS 7 devices which were authorized from remote storage (the video could be selected in Seagate Media App and would be played in a Safari browser), however in iOS 8 this has stopped working. A bug has been filed with Apple, however this functionality has not been restored. Therefore, DRM protected movies purchased on iTunes can no longer be played on devices running iOS 8.
SanDisk http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/16668/kw/itunes <http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/16668/kw/itunes> Videos purchased or rented from iTunes will not play in iOS 8 The SanDisk Wireless Media Drive and Wireless Flash Drive support streaming of DRM protected iTunes purchased movie content to authorized devices in iOS 6 and iOS 7 ONLY. The DRM protected content is opened in Safari where the DRM is decrypted and the video is played. iOS 8 issue In iOS 8 Apple device has NOT enabled Safari based DRM decryption. Therefore DRM protected content, i.e. purchased movies or TV shows from iTunes, CANNOT be streamed from the Media Drive/WFD in iOS 8. This issue has been reported to Apple. We do not have any estimated date when Safari will support DRM decryption of iTunes purchased content.

With the SanDisk Connect Wireless Media Drive and its companion app, you're free to share and stream high-definition content between your iPad, iPhone, iPod touch or Mac devices without a cable connection. Simply connect wirelessly from your iOS device to the media drive and instantly stream your HD movies, browse photos and listen to music from around the house or on the go, while avoiding the common hassles of cables, attachment limits or Internet availability

Here are the remaining issues that we are aware of in the iOS 8 general release: • Video streaming of DRM movies (purchased from iTunes and other vendors): iTunes purchased videos and all DRM movies will not play on iOS 8 devices when streamed from AirStash (or streamed from other wireless devices). These movies are digitally protected and the AirStash app sends them to the Safari browser to play (which works for all prior iOS versions). However, in iOS 8, Safari will no longer allow DRM movies to play. These movies will play when the video is transferred to the iPhone/iPad and played in the Apple's Video App or the corresponding App from the vendor.

If this is the case and Apple will not address this issue or fix it since Apple believes that movies should be protected this way, you need to let the community know that movies are restricted this way. It appears that Apple finally fixed an issue they had with their movie DRMs. The files should have never played in the first place. Can I FAX from a Wireless hp6700 printer
Can I FAX from a Wireless hp6700 printer? Do I need to connect it to a phone line or does it have fax software that will allow me to fax to a fax number via my home wireless network->Internet->Fax number.
SudhirHi,
You need a phone cord as mentioned in its manual:
Test fax setup
You can test your fax setup to check the status of the printer and to make sure it is set up correctly for faxing. Perform this test after you have completed setting up the printer for faxing. The test does the following:
• Tests the fax hardware
• Verifies the correct type of phone cord is connected to the printer
• Checks that the phone cord is plugged into the correct port
• Checks for a dial tone
• Checks for an active phone line
• Tests the status of your phone line connection
The printer prints a report with the results of the test. If the test fails, review the report for information on how to fix the problem and rerun the test.
Regards.

Error publishing reports from BW
Hi,
I am facing some issues while publishing reports from BW system. I have taken care of all the settings mentioned in Integration Kit guide. We are using BOXI 3.1 SP3 OS:windows 2008 (64-bit)
The error that we are getting is:
"0000000001 An error occurred when retrieving the role metadata for YBW_BO_CONTENT_PUBLISHER. Returned with RFC code 18 and message: See RFC trace file or SAP system log for more details"
I have enabled the trace also, still not able to find the root cause.
Need help urgently. Thanks.
Amit TewatiaHi Startos,
I have matched the auth. as per the admin guide, everything is fine with the role. I have checked the trace file logs, part of which is below:
"Starting up callback server at 10.239.30.2 sapgw00 with prog-id SEGIDC8BBB5A3
GetRfcHandle() returned with handle 0
Connection cloning failed. Message: See RFC trace file or SAP system log for more details
ERROR: .\job_defs.cpp 52: l_rfcDownloadRoleMdata failed with return code l_rcRfc = 18 Exception:
Leaving job processor CPubJobGetRoleMetaData(YBW_BO_CONTENT_PUBLISHER)"
No idea why it calling this IP. This is not the IP of our BW server. please suggest where to check for this.
Regards,
Amit
