Status bar ticking forward

Hi,
I am using a servlet application which when I call up a certain page, the status bar just keeps on ticking forward, you know the progress bar at the bottom of the screen.
This is happening only on one page. I am doing nothing differnt to this page that I think would cause this. Any ideas?

Why does the address/status bar not work?

After updating to 9.0.1, my status bar will not work, or my address bar. If I try to type in anything and press enter into the address bar, nothing happens. Also, I cannot press forward or back as they always remain grayed out. The only way I can get to a website is by pressing home, which is thankfully google. I have to google the url to go to it.
Remembering now actually, I copied all the folders from the main firefox folder and pasted them into a new install of firefox (I had this problem actually before firefox updated). I was hoping that copying these folders would save my addons and etc. after I downloaded a new firefox and re-installed it. I put the folders back and firefox is still messed up :/
I just want it to work more Q_Q

I have v. 3.6.8. It will display blank white pages at some site and not at others. I use safe mode and the access is reversed... what used to open doesn't and what didn't does. . .
Is anyone trying to fix this problem - or are users just left to chasing their tails on this issue?

IPod Touch Graphics Weirdness - Status Bar mirrored at bottom of screen!!!

Okay, this is VERY weird and I have no idea what's going on - This morning when I woke up, I grabbed my trusty iPod Touch (4th Gen, 32GB with iOS 5) to check my calendar and noticed that the Status Bar (if I'm calling it the right thing - the white bar at the very top of the screen that shows the time, battery charge, WiFi signal,etc) was not only at the top - but also at the BOTTOM of the screen too!
The mirrored Status Bar has the correct time and battery life as the top and the time updates just as it should. I can also see the lock icon when I first turn it on. However, to the extreme left the bottom bar is sort of "washed out" and is so white that I can't make out the word "iPod" that shows on the top bar. In fact, it's also sort of translucent as I can see the dock, icon name and part of my wallpaper behind/thru it! I also just realized something else weird - if I pull down the Notifications panel, I can see the notification panel sort of "scrolling" thru the bottom Status Bar!!! I hope I'm explaining this well enough - but it's like..I dunno, like the ideo memory for the top of the screen is being mirrored over the bottom of the screen too - I can see what should be there as well, it;s like it's overlayed or something. The Notification panel is especially weird since it totally obsured the top status bar as it's being pulled down - and this is exactly what the bottom status bar area shows me - what's in the section in the top bar is prescisely what is showing in the bottom bar section!!!!
It stays displayed along the bottom no matter what app I'm in, even a full screen video, game, lock screen, etc; nor does it disappear when rotating to landscape mode - it still stays in the exact same place (tho in landscape it's now on the right side as it were). I have soft reset, synched, etc but it wil not go away. As I said, I deleted all recently installed packages, but I didn't install anything the night before (remember I just found it this way this morning) - i.e. I wasn't doing anything weird or experimental or anything remotely like that with my beloved little iPod (never JailBroken it or any of that stuff - am happy as it is and never been tempted to do anything like that to it). I also have never used any of the AV Out cables or whatever they are called that allow you to mirror an iPod screen on a TV or monitor or whatever - never used anything but the sync cable (now at my sisters), my Belkin charge auto charge cable, and that's it (I'm mentioning all this since I see other people asking this sort of thing for other problems when I was trying to find anyone else experiencing/ed this issue).
I have not tried a factory restore yet, and wanted to post here before I go that route to see if this is maybe something Apple has seen before and can offer a quick and easy fix. Otherwise I'm guessing a hard/factory reset is the only way to go - I'm a bit worried about this since (of course) my sync cable is no longer here - gave it to my sister the last time she was in town and have just been using my charge cable (no sync capabilities, just power) since I don't really need it with iOS5's wonderful WiFi Sync. I do use iCloud - but if I hard reset/factory reset, will iCloud restore the synching info so I can sync all my apps and music & videos back via iTunes from my Laptop, or will I need to buy another sync cable? IF factory reset is the only way, please let me know (anyone that knows!) what I'm in for in regards to restoring from iCloud if anyone here is experienced with that. I know my non-iTunes music and videos are not backed up in the Cloud, but as long as it restores the ability to sync wirelessly with iTunes on my Laptop that's fine. Asuming, of course, that a factory reset will even fix this Status Bar oddity - I'm really afraid it means my little iPod's internal board is going fry-happy or something awful like that. :-(
I tried taking some screen snapshots (home + power off) to post, however the camera roll just displays a standard beautiful looking screen, no double bar - not sure what that indicates. However after some fiddling and emailng to myself, I do have a couple pics posted below. I apologize for the lack of quality - I took them - and don't laugh - with my Android Phone (yes, I have every intention of upgrading to an iPhone 4S as soon as I can - having a bit of enforced financial conservatism going on at the present unfortunately - which is one of the main reasons I'm so worried my beloved iPod Touch 4 is having issues as it's either very close to warranty expriration and can't afford another right now, and really don't want to have to rely on my Android Phone for everything I do on my iPod Touch - there truly is no comparison!).
If anyone has any ideas or has seen something similar please let me know! I did search the Apple forums prior to posting this, and even googled the web but could find nothing like this ever happening to anyone else. I absolutely love my iPod Touch and would be uterly lost without it, so I'm hoping with all my might that this isn't some sign of a bad board or something in my beloved little beautiful iPod Touch!

I understand the various methods - I was just worried because I've never restored via iCloud - from the limited experience I've had thus far, I'm impressed! But of course if Apple does it, it's going to be the best experience possible! :-)
And as you may have guessed from my now having iCloud restore experience, it is due to me going ahead and trying a reset to factory settings/wiping it clean. And unfortunately - the bottom bar is STILL THERE! <much argghhing! and %^$#@*&^%$'ing loudly>
I did try wiping it a couple of times, but no joy. At this point, I'm guessing this means there's something majorly wrong with the graphics subsystem and/or main board? It's not a screen issue as it's working fine - in fact it's working double-time displaying two things at once - dimensional transcendentalists take note! <grin>
So unless anyone else has some fantastically bright ideas, I'm guessing this means I need to call Apple next? I'm guessing one of these pages has the appropriate contact info - I'm just not at all looking forward to being without my favorite gadget in the history of gadgetdom (and as you can tell from my username, I've been a fan of Apple Gadgets for quite awhile now!).
Anyone know if Apple offers any advanced replacement options? Or if there's anyway to tell if my Touch is stil under warranty? I can't remember the exact purchase date but probably coming up very soon - have they been out a year? Sorry if thee questions are silly, as I said, I'm a newbie to Apple Support - first Apple product I've ever owned that broke!

Status Bar Disappears in Mail App

Vonage sends me email attachments containing my voicemails in WAV (G.711) format. Although, G.711 encoded WAV's are very popular in telecom I understand they are not supported on the iPhone. I now convert these WAVs to MP3 and forward as an email attachment to the iPhone.
When I try to play the WAV attachment from the email app, the status bar disappears (only when in the mail app).
When I play the MP3 attachment from the mail app, the status bar no longer displays correctly (only when in the mail app).
I must power off and power on my iPhone for the status bar to return when in the mail app. I've restored by iPhone multiple times and the problem still occurs.
Email me, [email protected] and I'll forward the email containing the attachments.
How can I fix this?

This blog post discusses when support for MP3 and WAV email attachments was added by Apple. The supported was added in 1.1.1.

It also appears that the status bar may have disappeared in that screen shot too.
So, MP3 and WAV email attachments are supported.

Dispalying a Status Bar from Servlet

Hi team i am in a situation i am using a servlet which will do all talking to my database create Array objects, Linklist objects and finally Dispatchs to an JSP page. From say abc.jsp i am sending a request to a servlet passing a set of keys to create a report and servlet is taking like 5 min to create report on each key, so if user selects 10 keys and submit it is taking 10*5 minutes, we gota request from users that they need a Statusbar like thing which says like Processing 1 to 10 /n processing 2 of 10. like wise

Should a Status Bar be in the Root Pane or Content Pane?

Hello, I wonder if you can help...
Should a status bar be built into a JFrame (much like a JMenuBar, by extending JFrame and JRootPane along with its layout manager)?
I have created a status bar using the method above, but it seems to be more complex than it need be; so I am wondering whether to simply add it to a JFrames content pane.
Advantages of extending JRootPane and building the status bar as part of a frame:
1. It allows the frames content panes south region to remain unoccupied, and thus will not conflict with a JToolPanes positioning.
Advantages of adding the status bar to the content pane south region:
1. Keeps the design nice and simple, so no knowledge of the root pane need be known;
2. We can use composition (rather that inheritance) to define the frame and its parts.

( I search for iChat questions when I have finished in the iChat Forum)
So the menu bar reads iChat, File, Edit, View, Buddies, Video, Window and Help
There is no Buddy List open.
There is no other window for iChat open.
In the iChat Menu you only have access to Status.
Is an item ticked in the list ?
Is this a green (Available item) or Red ( an Away one) ?
Can you access the Accounts option ? (Sitll in the iChat Menu)
Is anything in here ticked ?
In the Window menu any Logged in account should appear in the list (Between the Next Chat and File Transfer items)
It would be useful to know which version of iChat this is.
If no account is ticked (iChat Menu > Accounts) or not showing in the Window Menu, plus you cannot determine the Status and you cannot access the Preferences then you need to access your Home Folder/Library/Preferences
As the Library in the Home Holder is Invisible in Lion you will need the Finder's Go Menu > Go to Folder option (you can use it in earlier OS versions if you want)
Type in:-
~/Library/Preferences
Find the file called com.apple.ichat.plist
Drag it to the Trash and Restart iChat.
This will lose all the settings in iChat that you have changed from Defaults but there is no way around this.

How do i have status bar and a back button for applets?

I have an applet which displays a set of panels in order. Is there any way that i can have a status bar like in an browser and a back button so that it can go back and go forward. What do i need to do? Is there any sample code to do so. I am new to java and learning.

Status-Bar -- a long thin panel with a long TextField. Perhaps use something from the BorderFactory class to seperate it from other parts of the screen...
Back Button -- Keep track of your panels in a CardLayout, for example, then use a Button with an action listener that uses the CardLayout's previous() method to move back to the last panel.

Hide Status Bar

I have a personal domain name from godaddy. I enabled masking and forwarding so that my .mac created pages can be accessed via my personal domain name. That works fine.
Here's where the problem is: When I'm at my personal domain name website and hover over pages created from .mac, the status bar first shows my .mac site (go to http://web.mac.com/username/......) and then loads the personal domain name.
I went to several sites but cannot figure out where to put the code to hide my web.mac.com.username site for the brief moment that it shows up in the status bar.

Domain masking in the status bar?

Hi, I setup my domain forwarding and masking on Godaddy but when I checked out the website....I noticed the web.mac.com/username was coming up in the statusbar. Is there a way to mask that as well? I just don't really see the point of masking if people are gonna see your web.com address in the status bar when the page loads, haha. Any help would be appreciated!!

I think the only way to do that is to add some kind of script to your page to hide the status bar. A google search on those terms should give you something.

Status bar isn't showing even though it's checked in View

I can't see the bottom, navigation / status bar. Status bar is ticked in View menu.
It was showing yesterday.
I can see a tiny part of the right hand bottom scroll arrow but the bar and the icons in it aren't visible. In effect, the viewing area has increased by a few mm.

Are you sure the bottom of the window isn't just off the bottom of the screen? Try maximising the window and seeing if the bar reappears.

Task Status bar?

Hey all,
Running a procedure in forms that reads from a spreadsheet, and then writes the data to a flat file. For the 500 or so lines it has to write, it is taking a considerable amount of time. I would love to have one of these "Task in Process" things come up so the user sees something ticking away instead of just staring at the screen. Help?

That is the Windows Taskbar and not part of Firefox.
The Firefox Status Bar shows messages like Looking up and Waiting for and loading and Done.
If you do not see that Taskbar with Firefox closed then you may have hidden it.
Try to move the mouse at the bottom and see if you can pull it up with the left mouse button pressed.
If the Taskbar disappear if you open Firefox the check the Properties of the Taskbar to make sure that it is always visible.

All my menu bars, status bars, address box, links etc. have disappeared, and I don't know how to get them back!

Everything was OK earlier, but when I started Firefox again, the only thing that shows is the tab! I can't search, there are no menus, I can't enter a URL, I can do nothing! I had to (shudder) use IE to enter this question!

hi all just upgraded to lollipop 5.1.1 (from 5.0.2). Thank you sony devs. Went without a hitch - apps preserved, etc. However, decided to start afresh so wiped internal memory. I've noticed that priority mode is no more (at least it doesn't appear now when you press the hard volume keys - you just get 'normal' volume controls).
"interruptions" are now described in sound and notifications as "silent mode". I've also noticed that the few volume symbols in the status bar seem no more. For example, I'd know with the star symbol that my volume settings were in priority mode i.e. quiet or silent. With the struck through circle, I should be on silent and the phone with the wee vertical bars meant I was in vibrate mode. I can only now get the vibrate mode symbol to appear. Finally, what's the status of alarms? There used to be a note in the interruptions menu about alarms always being treated as priority events. Sorry if this is straight forward. Regards,

Thanks for the reply. Worked it out. It hammers the volume keys but basically, you volume down to zero - this takes you to vibrate mode. One more down-press takes you to silent. Here you get your priority controls and the ability to silence alarm too, as necessary. Star and struck-through-circle symbols are active in the status bar, depending on whether you toggle the "allow exceptions" switch. It's annoying that you can't shortcut from the power button menu like you used to but I think it's a lot clearer now, in terms of the layout i.e. these are the permutations you can have in silent mode.
