Status bar turned red

While I was using my iPad, the status bar at the top (the black bar all the way at the top with the clock) suddenly turned red for a very brief moment. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw some words there. But when I shifted my focus to read what was there, the words disappeared and the bar turned back to it's normal black. So I have no idea what this was all about; it was so quick. But it was obviously a warning of some sort.
Anybody know what this could have been?

I found it. It says "Garage Band Recording.". Strange, considering it pops up after quitting the app.

After using the Firefox Reset feature, a folder named Old Firefox Data should appear on your desktop. This folder should contain all your old extensions. However, there is a gotcha: many of them are filed under alphanumeric identifiers rather than readable names. Still, it's worth a quick look.
Actually, here's a thought: if you drag a .xpi file from the Old Firefox Data\extensions folder and drop it on an open Firefox tab, you should get the install dialog which, presumably, will tell you the extension's name. In theory you could try one after another until you find the one you want. Please note that installing an extension from disk rather than the Add-ons site may make it impossible for Firefox to find updates, so it would be better to figure out the name and get it from the source if you can.

Powerline adapters both turn red

After switching off my powerline adapters overnight, they are ok for a few days and then both adapters ethernet and status lights turn red. Does this mean they are faulty or need replacing?

How do I turn off and on the icon size slider bar at the lower right status bar of a folder window.

I have been trying for days to help a friend with a new iMac to turn on the icon size slider bar that on my iMac appears at the bottom of ever folder when it is open when in the "view" > "icon" mode. I cannot find anything that discusses this slider bar. I can turn this status bar off and on on both my machine and my friends machine, but I cannot turn off or on the slider on either machine.

This did not help. I am a Mac User since 1984 and generally I am never stymied buy the Mac OS, but this one has me. I can open and close the lower status bar, as you described, and that works fine for me because I have the icon slider bar already there and it works fine; however when I open the lower status bar on my friends machine there is no icon size slider bar, and I can't seem to find out how to get it there, as it is on my machine or at all. The icon size can be controlled from the View menu, but as a photographer, it is really handy to have it at the bottom of the folder window. Thanks for trying.

Hi, Just put phone in the recovery mode and restore to the factory settings. It should work.

My blue task/status bar at the bottom of the page is no longer visible. How do I turn that back on? The status bar feature under view does display it.

For some reason the blue status/task bar that would normally display at the bottom of the webpage (shows time, etc.) is no longer visible. I do not know how it got turned off and going to view-status bar simply enables a gray bar to display that says "done". I have searched using terms like "display task bar", etc and nothing comes up but view- status bar.

That is the Windows Taskbar and not part of Firefox.
The Firefox Status Bar shows messages like Looking up and Waiting for and loading and Done.
If you do not see that Taskbar with Firefox closed then you may have hidden it.
Try to move the mouse at the bottom and see if you can pull it up with the left mouse button pressed.
If the Taskbar disappear if you open Firefox the check the Properties of the Taskbar to make sure that it is always visible.

Pages not loading, suddenly today, status bar at bottom of page has red "J" for Java and I cannot figure out why or what to do

After using Firefox successfully for months, it started not loading full pages today, but showing "done" in the status bar at the bottom. I also noticed icons for Javascript, Java, Silverlight, etc., on the right side of status bar, JAVA one is red, but I don't know what that means.

App for audio recording on ipad that doesn't have the red status bar.

I need an app that still records audio but doesn't have the red status bar that shows I'm still recording when I exit the app. Does it exist? I have heard apple apps require the red status bar to be there.

You need to have the capability to export the presentation in a format your teacher can use. Ask your teacher what format she wants the presentation in. If she wants PDF then you have to send her a PDF file. If she wants something else send her the presentation in that format.
Be warned that not all apps supporting opening presentations preserve or support all layut and formatting. The best approach to ensure your presentation looks as you intended when she opens it is to write it in the same app she will be viewing it.
It is not unreasonable for the teacher to specify a format/application. Otherwise a teacher with 100 students could find herself having to deal with multiple apps, formats, standards, layouts, being sent to her.

If your iMac is Intel base, resetting SMC as well as NVRAM(PRAM) could solve the problem.

NEED HELP ON HOW TO TURN STATUS BAR OF A JSF PAGE OFF

I need a pop-up within my application where a staff can select his HOD(An hyperlink named HODNAME with text SELECT ) and on click it shows a pop up of a page (allstafflist.jsp) which has table and contains all staff. It has Select link which return name of the HOD to the parent page. My problem is that if I set the url of HODNAME (allstafflist.jsp) and set target to (new window), it shows the page as a pop up and if I select anything it returns what I want but I don�t WANT IT TO HAVE /SEE STATUS BAR.
So I thought of writing a javascript and call the function below on click i.e

but my problem is that it shows the pop up with no status bar but it display it at the back of the parent page, so if I don�t minimize the parent page I won�t see it.
So my problem is
1.     how can I make javascript run first on a page so as to disable the status bar.(i.e if it run first on allstafflist and disable its status bar) or
2.     how can I make the pop up from the javasript above not to be disappearing(i.e to appear as pop up and not to appear at the back of the current page)or
3.     how can I set the property or the url to be displayed not to have status bar(i.e if I set the property of hodname i.e url = "/faces/allstafflist.jsp", target="_blank")

How to turn on the status bar in ver. 24.6?

I'm running 2 accounts of TB ver. 24.6 and the status bar at the bottom is off in the older account. I'm not using Add Block plus or any other ver. of this. So why can't I see the status bar?

When using my power adapter, the light is green for a two seconds and turns red.

When using the power adapter for my MacBook 2.1, the little light on the connector is green for 2 or 3 seconds and then turns red. I bought a new adapter, but it is the same thing. It looks like the computer is charging. What's wrong with it.

Nothing wrong. Here is what Macbook manual has to say:
When you first connect the power adapter to your computer, an indicator light on the
power adapter plug starts to glow. An amber light indicates that power is going to the
battery. A green light indicates that no power is going to the battery, which can mean
the battery is fully charged, is not installed, or has a problem. If you don’t see a light,
your plug probably isn’t seated correctly. Check for any debris and remove it. You can
monitor the battery level using the Battery status menu in the menu bar or by
checking the battery level indicator lights on the bottom of the battery (see page 74).

Status bar, RGB colour as 0-255

Is there a way to show RGB values as 0-255 rather than percentages in the status bar? The RGB option displays floating point numbers, then there's percentatge and HSV options only in the prefs.

If you have a really good reason to do so (otherwise, just for fun) you can build the ability in a project.

You can drag the RGB 0-255 group to your Favorites folder in the Motion Library for reuse.
All it is, basically, is 3 number generators (animation turned off) linked to the red, green, and blue color values and scales these to 2.55 times their value. The way Numbers works is the value will be 100 times what you might expect (you can choose different display types -- my preference was Hexadecimal -- aka HTML color).
It's not that difficult to retrain yourself to see number values as decimals or percentages. The range 0 to 255 comes from the Hexadecimal representations translated as base10 values. It really doesn't matter what the "counting" system is, the 3 values represent magnitudes and RGB color is relative to the combination of magnitudes (including saturation and brightness). If any one of the 3 values is 0, the saturation is 100%. All 3 values equal to each other, the saturation is 0%. All colors are the combination of any 2 values with the third value "contributing" to the desaturation (or 1 value and the other 2 equal to each other contributing to desaturation). The maximum of any of the 3 values determines the brightness. If you know your color wheel, that pretty much covers it.

Status bar shows "iPad" instead of signal strength

my ipad shows "iPad" in the status bar area where you would usually see signal strength/wifi/3G. I cannot get the 3G or wifi to connect. any suggestions?

If 3G and WI FI are enabled, and you are still having problems, tap Settings / General / Reset / Reset Network Settings.
Then restart your iPad. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPad. To turn iPad back on, press and hold the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears.
See if that makes a difference.
Make sure Restrictions is turned off. Settings / General / Restrictions.
