Status light problem

I'm not sure if anyone else has had this problem, or if there is even a fix for it but here goes. On my 8330 I have this strange problem with the blinking status light. Whenever I turn my phone off (at night, or to recharge), then turn it back on the status light will work for a while and then stop. I have to go into options/screen (or whatever it's called) and change the status light option to "off", then save my change (which by the way makes the status light start blinking again), then change it back to "on" then save the change and all worked fine until I power it off (at which point I have to go though the whole convoluted process again). This is not that big of a deal (just kind of a pain in the butt to have to do all the time). Any help would be appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the forums!
On the status light what color are you referring to?
Green is the coverage indicator
Blue is Bluetooth
Red is the message indicator
Amber is the low battery/charge indicator.
Thanks,

I plug my iPod into a USB port and everything works great, except the light keeps blinking orange. When I start up iTunes it stops blinking and goes to solid orange, but never goes to solid green. Yesterday, I had only used it for about 10 muinites so plugged it in just so it would be fully charged next time I used it, but after about an hour, it never stopped blinking orange. Am I just not waiting long enough or something?

Where is "enable disk use" in settings? I see a
    few
options, but "enable disk use" isn't one of
    them.
Scroll down OR make window bigger...
Oh duh... Well I did that and the light is still
solid orange (it went to solid orange when I started
iTunes. But now I seem to have another problem. I
plugged to USB dock into to back of my computer
instead of the front, but when I go to My Computer,
it comes up for about 5 or so seconds and then turns
into removable disk and then just disappears. It
still shows up on iTunes but not My Computer. I've
    never had that happen before...
    Windows XP
Ok I actually fixed that last problem, but I took it off the dock and back on it and now it's still just blinking orange.

  • HT204492 If you're using the paired remote and the Apple TV status light flashes white, the problem isn't with the remote.

If you’re using the paired remote and the Apple TV status light flashes white, the problem isn’t with the remote.
Then what is the problem since I have troubleshoot my remote, it is working but cannot do anything on apple TV?

If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
    Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.
(You may already have a micro USB cable if you have a camera or other digital device)

  • HT3728 No status light at all on Airport/Time capsule. I can plug internet cable directly into bac of my MAC and have internet access no problem. Is my Airport dead and need to be replaced??

I have NO status light on my Airport/Time Machine, I unplugged the internet connection from back of Airport and plugged directly into my MAC and am able to get to the internet just fine.
The Airport is almost 6 years old
Is my Airport dead and just need to get a new one??

Unfortunately, yes.  On the upside, your Time Capsule lasted about twice as long as normal.

  • I have a new Airport Extreme and an old airport express.  I am getting an amber light on the new Extreme and a green light on the Express.   I have internet no problem but the status light is blinking amber

I have a new Airport Extreme and and old airport express.  I am getting an amber status light on the Extreme and a green light on the Express.  The Extreme is blinking amber all the time.
I have internet and everything seems to be working.
I have reset and pulled the power cord on both the extreme and the internet block
How do I make it Green?

If things seem to be working OK, but the amber light is flashing......the AirPort Extreme has a message for you. To see what that might be......
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click on the AirPort Extreme icon
Click on the amber dot in the small window
It might be a message that a firmware update is available for your AirPort Extreme.

  • Solid amber status light on ASA 5505

    Hi,
    I have a Problem with a ASA 5505
when i power on the ASA  the Power LED change to green and the Status light to solid amber.
There is no Console output or anything else.
Is this a DRAM or Flash Problem?
    What can i do ?
    thanks a lot!

Had the same problem, and this fixed it for me.  If i plug the power supply into the ASA then plug the power supply into the wall, i get the amber status light and green lights flashing failure.  However if I plug the PSU into the wall first, then wait a few minutes and plug the tiny little adapter(Fail on the adapter design Cisco) into the ASA 5505, ta-da it works!   It seems like the PSU needs to build up the power before being plugged into the ASA.  I don't know for sure, but this works for me.   I never wanted to plug in the tiny adapter first because i was afraid of it arcing in the adapter and that causeing problems, but this method works for me, hope it helps.

  • Apple TV 3 Status Light turns ON and stays ON when I turn ON my Broadband Modem. How do I stop this ?

Since I updated my Apple TV 3 to 5.1.1, the Status Light turns ON and stays ON when I turn ON my Broadband Modem. How do I stop this ?
At the moment I have to go to the HDMI channel that my  ATV 3 is connected to, wake the ATV, then put it back to sleep, to turn OFF the status lght.
When I first got my ATV I did not have this problem, when it was running 5.1.0.
I sent in a Feedback form, but they only as the option to select the OS version of a NON iOS device.
Is there a fix to this that wont involve me leaving my modem ON all the time ?
    I turn my modem OFF when I am not using the Internet because I am a bit paranoid about the security of the data on my devices, and if I leave the modem turned ON all the time it might make me an easier target for hackers etc. { This is NOT part of my question, just explaining why I turn my modem OFF ( I feel safer ) }
    <Edited by Host>

The ATV3 does that to me when I turn on my TV. the light goes on and stays on. If I switch to the ATV3, it seems to be half asleep with the light on ... I do wish Apple would enable the HDMI CEC and then everything would make sense. I've turned off my wireless and on again but the ATV3 light does not turn on automatically for me.
As you pointed out, I guess this could be a small glitch on the new firmware/software update... I wonder if this could be fixed by doing a restore from the iTunes app. I might give it a try tomorrow and see what happens...
    Cheers!

  • My Apple tv status light is blinking fast - how do I troubleshoot?

my Apple TV gen 2 status light is blinking fast and I am not able to see anything from my Apple TV - how do I troubleshoot?  What I read on the Apple site is that my Apple TV has issues.  My Apple TV is hard wired to my Ethernet network.  It is connected to my TV using an HDMI cable.  It worked in the past but when I turned it on today it did not work.  I have not used it in several months and we had a bad thunderstorm here a couple weeks ago.

I'm having the same problems as you. Any solutions? This is what i'm facing
    1. No video signal at all
    2. Plugged in power cable only, there is no light
    3. Plugged in micro usb, there is flashing light
    4. Restore via iTunes is sucessful but problem still persists

  • Mac Pro 3.1 status light is always on

    Hello
    I have a Mac Pro 3.1
Since last week I have a problem, and could't yet found the solution. Sometimes (most of the times, actually) the Mac Pro doesn't boot and just stops after the chime (just as it was powered off). But what I found strange is that the white status light is always on (not blinking, always on) from the moment I connect the power strip.
I've run multiple times the Apple Service Diagnostic tests (running then again at this moment) and there´s absolutely no error reported.
I've changed memory, video card slot position, everything I could think off, but still haven't found a solution.
    Thank you for your help

I will try the UPS as soon as I can get one working (it seems my trusted Ellipse Max 1500 isn't working anymore). But how can it explain the fact that the light always stays on?
Another thing. In one of the last reboots to seemed that the Mac Pro couldn't find the startup disk. Past the chine nothing happened. After I started again with the alt key pressed and chooses the correct disk it appears to be working (the light problem keeps the same).
So, maybe there's a problem with the SMC, could it be? Yes, I did the SMS (and PRAM) reset, but the problem keeps the same

  • Status light in AP1130 doesn't work!!!!!

I have a AP1130, it's working fine, except the status light is always green, even when there are clients connect to it through wireless in which case it should be blue.
I've upgraded the firmware and the same problem still happens.
Does anyone knows how to fix this??
    Thanks in advance,
    regards,
    Hugo

Is it possible that you are actually connected to an adjacent LWAP? In other words, can you unplug the LWAP in question and still connect via wireless?
The reason I ask is that there is a known issue where the 1131 LWAP turns status LED turns light green when it is not actually connected to the WLC.
This behavior ocurrs when the LWAP is not receiving an IP address via DHCP.

  • My ipod 2nd generation won't charge.  No status light when conected to computer.

Recently found an ipod shuffle 2nd generation.  When I tried to charge it there was no status light on it at all.  Thinking it could be beyond use as it hadn't been used for a long time.  Any advice welcome.

Are you using the USB docking cable that came with your 2nd gen iPod?  It has a mini-dock at the iPod end.  The docking cable for the 3rd and 4th gen shuffle does not work with the 2nd gen shuffle, because the connector is different.
If you are using the original cable (or a compatible third-party replacement), there are three possibilities.  (1) A problem with the computer's USB port not working or supplying sufficient power.  (2) A faulty docking cable, even if it's the right cable.  (3) A problem on the shuffle.
If you can do some tests to rule out (1) and (2), then it is likely to be (3).

  • Interpretation of status lights colours when starting up a new time capsule

Time capsule documentation on the booklet included in the packaging about the light status is relatively uncomplete and leading to confusion when interpreting the colours on the fisrt start up.
The light indeed may not come green at all despite the fact that the Time capsule is already connected to the Internet. It may flash slowly amber and you may have as well the Airport section connected. Consequently the amber flashing light is not only reflecting an Internet connection problem
The status light in fact reports about to main activities 1 the Internet connection status 2 the network status.
Using a home DSL modem to connect the Time Capsule with an ethernet cable, open Airport Utility, waiting a few seconds. One can see two leds on the screen. Top one is for the Internet status and left bottom one for the Network status.
If the Time Capsule flashes amber, it may have a green status led on the Internet connection while having an amber status led on the Network side.
When being on the Airport Utility screen clicking on the Capsule will bring up a comment about the problem, asking to change the parameters of the router.
Choosing the bridge disconnected mode will clear  the problem and the status light of the Capsule will finally turn to green colour. On the Aiport Utility screen both ledswill be then green.

By default, it should use Ethernet if both are available, but if the "service order" in your Network Preferences gets shuffled, it may not.
Be sure it's really using Ethernet (turn WIFI off briefly).
There's a single, fixed partition on the TC's internal HD -- you can't partition it.
Something is clearly wrong; you should get something like 20-25 GB/hour (overall, with a lot of variation), in that configuration.  See #D2 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting.

  • Three status lights keep flashing on the base station

I was using my Airport extreme, it was a-ok, then the power went. When the base station came back up all three status lights starting flashing rapidly and simultaneously and since then i cannot get any signal from the base station. I've tried to unplug for 5, 10, 60 mins then re-plug....it still goes back to the same situation. I had this problem before when i just got this replacement base station and usually after unplugging the power chord and waiting for say 1 minute, then plugging it back in, the flashing stopped and the base station started sending a signal again. Except this time all three signal lights continued to blink after re-plugging. Can anybody help at all..I could use some suggestions..I have already tried using the re-set button, it doesn't work. Airport admin utility cannot pick up the base station because there is no signal coming from it..I've checked the manual and it says that the base station has failed its power on self test...what can i do now...I had asked this question b4 when it was initially giving trouble (and i didn't have a manual handy) and was told that it should b ok..that was when i had the chance to return it to an apple-authorized service provider....now i don't so i would like to know what to do....this is a replacement base station!

    Kurt,
You posted in the AirPort Express forum. You would probably get better help/suggestions from the AirPort Extreme forum.

  • Status light wont go out

Hi all - I bought a new ATV V3 at the weekend.  The white status light will not go out.   I can hold in the play button on the remote and the ATV appears to go into sleep mode (Picture goes off), but the Status light remains on.  I can select sleep from the menu - same result.
I have another ATV I used to use on the TV with a different HDMI cable and didnt have the issue.  Could it be a problem with the HDMI cable ? Any other suggestions gratefully received ?

Greetings Kalebj80, and welcome to Palm Forums
Are you having any other issues with the device? If everything is still working and you can deal with the flickering light I would just ignore it, How wet did the phone get was it submerged in water? If you want the device fixed call in and do a repair/replace 877-426-3777. You could try leaving the phone out no battery in it back cover off to dry out a little more may still be damp still. Unfortunately electric and water don't mix very well.

  • Status light is blinking

How do I fix my AirPort Extreme?  The status light is blinking and I no longer have Internet access.

A persistent, flashing amber light indicates that any of the several potential conditions may require your attention:
The base station has not yet been configured because it is new, or the reset switch has been set.
You have selected a security configuration that is not recommended.
One of several other conditions, such as a disconnected Ethernet cable or invalid IP address has been detected.

If you run the AirPort Utility, it will show an amber circle on the summary page next to the area(s) causing the problem. Click on this amber circle and it should provide an explanation. Please post back your results.
