Status Profile in Item Category Definition
Hello All,
Whats the significance of status Profile in Item category definition. Please provide your inputs.
Thanks & regards
Vittal
Status Profile is used to control user statuses.
A status profile is created by the user in general status management.
In a status profile you can: Define the sequence in which user statuses can be activated Define initial statuses Allow or prohibit certain business transaction.
There are two status in SAP. Once is system status and one is user status. This is currently used in my project under service management.
I will give you small example to be very clear.
Consider a product X is having some problem and needs service. So you call a service agent and he creates a notification in SAP (tcode IW51). Now once this is created, the overall completion status of notification like OPEN, closed, in process etc are system status. This can be seen in table JCDS.
Now user status are the customized status client defines if any further transaction according to business process should happen or not. For example, if the unit is out of warranty and he needs a replacement, then customer will need to give money at discounted rate. Now once notification iscreated and there is no payment details, like credit card, the notifcation will go on credit block status which will change to released once payment is done. Now further processing of notification is not possible once this status of blocked changes.
You can see the status profile and it connection to different status in table TJ30 and assigning this status profile in item category will define that item to behave accordingly as item cat are used to define behavior of the item in any document.
This will surely give you a better idea of status profile. Reward accordingly.
Kind Regards
Sandeep

Status Profile at item category
Hello,
Anybody could tell me please how to get "object status" button appeared at item line level without assigning status profile to item category.
RamchandraHi
If you assign the status profile to your item category then only it will appear at the item level in the status tab.
Or you can try in the below path so that the status can be seen in overview screen
SPRO-Sales & Distribution-sales--Sales Documents--Define Display Status in the Overview Screen

Preceding Ref Mandatory issue Item Category definition
Hi Friends,
Here I am facing a problem that, I have created an item category which will be used in Quotation creation.
And Maintained Preceding Ref. Object type as 'Opportunity', made its as mandatory.
But while I am creating Quotation, its not showing any error even though there is no any preceding reference document.
Please let me know the reason.
Thanks,
ManojYou can try this.
Go to IMG SD > Basic Functions > Partner Determination > Set Up Partner Determination > Set Up Partner Determination for Sales Document Item.
There create a new Partner Det.Procedure say Z, by copying standard N. Next click on Partner Functions in Procedure. Now, against this new Z procedure, you can see that special stock partner. Against that partner, select the box Mandatory.
Next click on Partner Determination Procedure Assignment and select Item Category KEN and assign Z.
Finally, assign this Z to your item category in VOV7
Now try the process and update the forum.
thanks

Change the status profile assigned to the line item from PROFA TO PROFB
Hi Experts,
The issue we are having relates more to the fact that the code we have written is changing the item category, however the status profile has already been retrieved from configuration based on the original item category and therefore the status selection that we are getting is incorrect.
Item Category A -> Status Profile PROFA
Item Category B -> Status Profile PROFB
For example we have a line item and item category A is determined through config, this then retrieves its associated status profile PROFA. However we have then coded the system to change item category A to item category B. However the status profile still remains PROFA.
We need to find a way to change the status profile assigned to the line item from PROFA to PROFB.
any quick inputs from any one please......
Thanks in advance
hemanthHi
There is perform which moves the values to VBAP field.
This PRCTR field is stored in VBAP (i.e., SO line item table)
USEREXIT_MOVE_FIELD_TO_VBAP
Hope it works.

Status Profile - System Status Set Relased Automatically
Hi Experts,
We have created a new status profile for item category X and and have assigned the same. When editing an order the user status is "In Process" at item level and automatically the system status is set as "Released" , ideally it should have been "In Process".
Not able to conclude on why this is happening. Request your expert opinion.
Thanks,
Chaudh.Hi Chaudh,
What business transaction have you assigned to the user status? For In Process it should be INPR and not RELE.
Kind rgards,

Dear All,
Can any one give me the configuration settings step wise to be done in SD for maintaing the "status profile" and also please explain the benefit and maintainance method.
thanks.
MansurHello Mansur;
Just to ray some hints for you related with Status Profile:
A status can allow, prohibit or issue a warning for any subsequent process. A status profile is then assigned to the document type for the header or the item category for the item.
Example: User status for the order
IMG -> S&D -> Sales->Sales document -> define and assign status profile
1.Define status profiles
2.Assign order types / status profiles-----same for VOV8
3.Allocate status profile to item categories------Same for VOV7
To define and change status profiles for any of the documents you can use transaction BS02. The status profile needs to contain following information:
1. Object type: sales order header, sales order item etc.
2. Business transaction: create, change etc.,
3. Influence: The transaction has:
a. no influence
b. permitted
c. warning
d. disallowed
4. Call up BS02 again->choose one user status->double click->New entry-> Set the Influence for business transactions->Save->Display again->
5. Allocate the profile to the order type u2018ORu2019 (VOV8)
A status object will be created for an item in any of the following cases:
1.The item has been customized to get an own CO object (VBAP-KZVBR = 'E')
2.Calculated costs determination is active (T459K-KALKU <> SPACE) for the requirement class of the item
3.A user status profile has been assigned to the item (TVAP-STSMA <> SPACE)
4.Export control is active for the sales document type (TVAK-EXCOK <> SPACE)
5.The item is a repair item
In all other cases, no status object will be created. You can trace through the FV45PF0S_STATUS_OBJEKT_ANLEGEN to understand why a status object is created or not created in your case.
So, that´s it.
I hope it can be helpful

Status Profile : Status not changing in CRM
Hi Gurus
Created order with header status as as " In process" , item status is defaulted to " open" and order replicatd to ECC , billed aswell . But when I checked in CRM still status not changing to completed but retains with In process at header level & open at item level.
I would expect order status should be completed at header level & Item level.
Is there any thing wrong with status profile settings at header & Item level? , I have created status profiles with following settings.
I have copied standard status profile " CRMORDER" and assigned to trasaction type and made following settings:
Under Open : following transactional contorl selected
To be distributed : Selected options "Forbidden " & No active
Under In process:
In process : Selected options " Allowed " & Set
Undo Rejection : Selected options " No infulence " & Set
Under Completed:
Complete : Selected options " Allow " & Set
Created status profile for Item i.e. copied standard CRMORD_i and made following changes:
Under Open : No transaction control selected
Under In Process :
Edit : Seleted options " No influence" & Set
Undo Rejection : Selected options " No Influence & Set
Under Completed:
Completed : Selected options " Allowed & Set"
Rejected : Selected options " Allowed & Set"
Actually we are using material which is non deliverable but should be billed, while creating order , I can see staus at item level is open and remains open even after billed in ECC. And also we are mapping Business activity reasons to order reasons in ECC.
Is any thing i am selecting wrong options in status profile at header level & item level? Much appricieated for solution.
Thanks

Question on dispute management status profile
Dear Friends,
I have a quetion on SAP FSCM dispute management status profile. While setting up the status profile we would specify the status values. A number is assigned to each status and it will have corresponding system status. In the standard delivery the numbers assinged to status are (10,20,30..etc). Does any one know what is the significance of these values? My question is it required to use this numbers or it can be anything.
Any help will be greatly appreciated..Hello,
The status profile is used by definition of the Case Management configuration behind each Dispute.
A number is assigned to every step, and the number controls changes in the status, and can only be moved to a new number if it is customized to do so.That forbids you to jump into undesired states...
My general recommendation is keep them in ascending order, since the default when opening a case is to give the lowest value, and generally, closed cases are 98 or 98.
Configuration is done via: SPRO->FSCM->Dispute Management->Dispute Case Processing->Status Management->Create Status Profile.
Here is an Example for Legal Claim:
10 10-New Case 001
20 20-Pre-Presentation of Case 002
21 21-Case Presentada 003
22 22-Case - Rejected 003
23 23-Case - Ammended 003
30 30-Payment Order 003
40 40-Personal Notification 003
41 41-Notification via Advise 003
42 42-Notification via Presentment of Charges 003
43 43-Notificatio via Conculding Behaiviour 003
50 50-Rebuttal 003
60 60-Proof 003
61 61-Questionning to the Parties 003
62 62-Testimonies 003
63 63-Document Exhibit 003
64 64-Judicial Inspection 003
70 70-Final Debate 003
80 80-Sentence 003
I hope this answers your question. -
Assign partner determination procedure to Item Category/Sales document type
Hello All,
How can I assign a partner determination procedure to an item category or sales document type? That field is disabled in item category config step. Please suggest.
Thanks,
lavanyaHI Lavanya,
The partner determination will happen through a different way and not through item category definition.
The path would be
S&D->MAster Data->Bussiness partners->customers->Customer hierarchy->set partner determination for hirearchy categories.
In this you will have one option to define by item category.
Hope this helps.

Thanks in advance.
S Kumar ValluruKumar,
Please go through the path for config or settings of status
IMG --> Sales --> Sales Documents --> Define and Status Profile You can
1. Define status profile Tcode BS02
2. Assign it to sales document type
3. Allocate status profile to item categories too.
Please take the help of BASIS consultant it will be much easier while defining status profile.

Availability check problem - with item category(TAN and TANN)
Hi All,
We have a problem with the availability check in the standard order. Suppose if I give the item category as TAN, the availabilty check is green for that line item. If I change the item category from TAN to TANN, then the availabilty check is red.
How Item categories influence the availability check? Is availability check also depend on customer?
Thanks & Regards,
Anil.Hi ,
please check in this path.
Customer Relationship Management>Basic Functions>Availability Check>Assign ATP Profile to Item Category
In this step you assign the ATP profile to an item category:
1. Choose the relevant item category.
2. Enter the name of the ATP profile in the ATP profile field.
If this field is empty, no availability check is carried out.
ATP profile-
1. A key that is assigned to the item category of a sales transaction item to control whether availability check takes place for this item.
2. If availability check is carried out in SAP Advanced Planner and Optimizer (SAP APO), the name of the requirements profile in SAP APO is used for the ATP profile in CRM Online to carry out the following functions in SAP APO:
-ATP check
-Transfer of requirements
-Delivery scheduling
-Transportation scheduling
Hope it will useful.
thanks

How to change the status profile of equipment?
Hi Experts,
Is it possible to change the user status profile for already created equipment? I tried to change the assignment of status profile to equipment category and found it works only for new equipments. It is not applicable to already created equipments. The status of the status profile is already used in equipments.
Please suggest and do the neeful.
Thanks and best regards,
Praveen. No you can not change status profile assigned with already created equipment.
Eg. You assigned status profile 00000003 to equipment category M of equipment. so whnever any new equipment created will get status profile 00000003 only.
For your case, dont make any change status profile no .00000003--> make whatever changes you have to made about status naming, sequence keeping same status profile.
After that goto equipment change master edit>change category>selet same category for assignment. so equipment will get same status profile with status changed.
Hope this will help you. -
Item Category - Serial number status Link
Experts,
What is the link between item category and serial number status in sales document. When I create an outbound delivery for one item category, the serial number in outbound delivery becomes ESTO to ECUS. For another item category it becomes ESTO to ECUS ESTO. How is it maintained.
I want to change the transfer status from ESTO to ECUS instead of ECUS ESTO for one item category. How can I accomplish this. Please advice.
Thanks
Manassha.Manassha
These are system statuses that are maintained and delivered by SAP. They are activated or deactivated by performing an application procedure, or directly.
typically when the Eqpt. is in stock, it will be in ESTO-' in the warehouse' system status.
Once you assign it in a delivery, it will have 2 statuses- EDEL, ESTO- ' In the warehouse' ( as it has not been Goods Issued yet) and ' Assigned in delivery note'.
Once you do a GI of the delivery, I t will be in ECUS- 'At customer site'- status. This is for normal items.
For customer Consignment Fill-up orders, once you deliver and PGI, the eqpt will be in the unusual sounding state of ECUS ESTO, because it is goods issued to a customer at the same time because it is associated with Consignment Fill-up ( and not consignment Issue), it will be in ESTO status as the eqpt is still in our stock. I am guessing even Equipment related Made-to-order (MTO) items will have similar status when received from Production Order to sales order stock.
There is no way you could influence this because this is 'system status' and gets determined by what you did- Transactions like PGI, Good receipt etc.
Hope this is clear. -
Status profile at header and item level
27.11.2007
Hi friends,
I have created a status profile at the header with option like CRTD and APPRD. The transaction control is Forbid billing when CRTD and Allow Billing when APPRD. I have attached this profile to the Sales document header.
At the item level i have created status profile with option like DUE and INST with transcation control Forbid billing when DUE and Allow Billing when INST.
My problem is when I set the status as APPRD at header, the billing of items with status DUE takes place.
Please suggest how to restrict billing of items where the Status is DUE.
Regards,
Udaynath.Dear Lisa,
In which tab you are maintaining delivery block in the delivery item data or order item data.
As per my concern there is no field called Delivery Block in the item data of the sales order and delivery.
In the header data you have.
I hope it will help you,
