Status shows "Down" in EM in 10g Home page

My current Oracle 10g Status on EM Home page shows "DOWN"
What must I do to change the status to show "UP"? Is this normal? Any suggestions?
Please can someone help?

Thank you. Its works...
Below are the steps...
Set the ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID environment variables to the ORACLE_HOME and
SID of the 10G database.
- Stop the dbconsole using :
$ cd $ORACLE_HOME/bin
$ emctl stop dbconsole
- Re-configure the port used by the dbconsole by running this command :
$ emca -r
- In the above command, enter the listener port details as 1522. Enter the database SID and service name.
Specify the passwords for the sysman, dbsnmp and sys as sysdba users.
The dbconsole will be started automatically after the configuration has been completed. Access t
he URL and verify the status of the database.

You can open the Menu Panel with the "3-bar" button on the right-side of the Navigation Toolbar, then hit the '''?''' button at the bottom of that Panel.
Then open '''''About Firefox''''' and use the '''Check for Updates''' button to get the new version of Firefox 36.
Basically, don't ever use any "bars" or buttons on any website for Firefox updates.

2nd firefox browser window shows 2 bars at top & no home page?

2nd opened browser window or 3rd, 4th, etc show an additional blue bar with a small orange box which says firefox with a drop down menu, plus there is no home page loaded.
Also, I could Not uninstall so I could re-install.

thanks for your hlelp! i omitted to say that i am a Mac use and so don't have an f10 key ;-( ...and so some of the other instructions don't work either!
I have tried some of the other suggestions( like looking in customize tool bars) ..and I don't think that something has gone missing. I think firefox may have changed the look of the window?!
I have attached a screen grab below...to help explain...
See the long window at the top that has google written on left hand side ?! This is where the url used to be displayed.
I have discovered that when you are on a page if you click on the icon on the left hand side of the little window/bar...that is to the left of the long one ...and then click more info you can see the page details in a pop up window ( as per the screen grab) . However only the site details can be copied ...and not the individual page URL ...although this appears at the top of the pop up!
I also noticed I do not have latest version of firefox running ...so will remedy that
and maybe that will sort it ...what do you think?
If I do the same thing but use safari as a browser i don't get the same problem ...and the complete URL for the actual page is displayed !

Postage stamp effect from the Show Me flash movie on Elements home page

The Elements home page on adobe.com has a little flash movie labeled Show Me that demos some of the nifty new features of version 4.0. In the Enhance section of this movie, right after the liquify/stained glass demo, the picture is cropped using a postage stamp effect. The demo seems to indicate that the selection and cropping are done at the same time, with whatever tool was used. I found a post about using the Custom Shape Tool's Objects.Stamp1/2 shape to create a postage stamp effect, but this demo shows it to be much simpler.
Any ideas on which tool was used in this demo movie?

From the video it looks like they are using the postage stamp custom shape as the base of a clipping group (the family group photo is on a layer above a blank layer and is grouped with it -- when the lower layer filled with a black postage stamp custom shape the portions of the grouped layer that intersect the shape become visible). I don't have PSE4, so I can't say what they are doing for sure.

I have tried all suggestions to have my home page in english. All setting show english, but not only my home page shows me in the Nederlands, but others too.

I have checked all my settings, and they are correct, but my home page (yahoo) has me in the Nederlands using their language. Not english. I have to click the USA tab several times to bring up the USA. Then when I go to another website occasionally it returns to the foreign language. What can I do?

Since down loading Firefox 5 my home page and other pages leap to the right so I only have half a page.

My home page was OK till I downloaded 5, now every time I log on the search bar and Logo leap to the right. I only have half a page, I am truly fedup I downloaded 5

Open System Preferences > General
Deselect: Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps
Assuming you are using Safari, from your Safari menu bar top of your screen click Safari > Empty Cache
If that didn't help, back to the menu bar, click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
Click: Remove All Website Data
Quit then relaunch Safari to test.
If you aren't sure how to, "quit" an app, you can do that from the menu bar. Safari > Quit Safari or Command + Q on your keyboard.

Contribute shows blank or wraith connections on home page. Why?

When the Contribute home page appears, several 'wraith' or blank connections appear. These go no where. And, they are multiplying. Why? How do I fix?

I am not 100% sure, but I believe it gets it from your staging server.
For each site configured on the server there is a folder in the site called "_mm".
I believe Contribute connects to the server and gets the details of the site from the files in this folder.
You should be able to delete this file on the server (take a backup of it just in case)
Also look at the folder
C:\Documents and Settings\<your id>\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\Contribute CS3\Sites
It contains the cached details for each site. It must get this from the server because you can delete all the sub-folders and Contribute will recreate them when you start the application next.
So I suggest you delete the sub-folders in "Sites", delete the "_mm" folders from teh server for the sites you dont want and restart CS3.
Hope this puts you on the right track, but as I say I am not 100% certain it will fix your issue.

I click on firefox but a dead tab shows up and I cannot find home page and it won't go away by pressing the red close button. What can I do to restore my tabs?

10g express, how to change port number for the database home page

10g express uses port 8080 for its http listener. However this number has been used by Tomcat on my computer. How can I chang the port number for the 10g home page?

Andy, thank you very much, I have been able to changed the port number following your advice.
I hope you do not mind I ask a further questions along this line:
I installed 10 express db on 2 computers. One with Tomcat and the other without. Following your advice, I successfully changed the port number on the one without Tomcat.
On the one with Tomcat, I believe it was because I installed the 10g express while the Tomcat was running, I can neither go to the 10g's home page (page cannot be displyed), nor logon to the database from sqlplus (ora-12560: TNS:protocal error) even after I shut down the Tomcat. By checking with 'netstat -an', it is known that the http listerner is not listerning.
Can I change some configuration file to solve this problem? Or do I have to reinstall 10 ex? I prefer the 1st aproach of changing config file, even it is not as easy as reinstallation.

CRS 10.1 with Endeca 3.1.1 -home page doesn't show image and promo products

Thanks to this forum and especially cmore I'm close to setting up my local dev environment, but still have something to resolve.
I have ATG 10.1.2 + CRS + Endeca 3.1.1. I installed BCC with Staging and Production (switchable) stores.
The problem is with Production CRS - both US Store and Home Store don't show image and promoted products on Home page.
What I see below Top Category pane is empty square. Unlike Production, home page on Stage works fine - I see homepage_promo_storeSiteUS_en_anonymous.png and promoted products.
I think the problem is not related to Endeca, as I currently connect both Stage and Prod to the same Endeca CRS, I also believe that issue is not related to configuration - I tried to run production with Stage configuration, and it changed nothing. I believe the issue is somewhere in data (DB) - but I did full deployment for Prod and it didn't help. I verified targeters and slots on Prod through ACC, and they looks fine. So don't know at this point what to do next.
While doing full deploy I see some errors in the log which might be related to the issue, But the same errors I see on Stage as well and still Stage works without issues:

Last update: I compared Stage and Prod home pages HTML code, and notice that the first difference between two pages is absence of endeca-slot Div, the below code present on Stage, and is Not present on Prod:

After some analysis and experiments:
Most likely the issue is with Scenarios. HomeTheme Slot is populated by Theme scenario.
For some reason the slot remains empty on "bad" environment. On "good" environment the slot contain promo content item after the first call of the slot. I checked respective targeter and promo content item, and they look OK, so I believe something wrong with Scenarios.

FC publishes my 12th page as first, instead of showing the home page immediately. Page order?

I created a site in Flash Catalyst and when I published it everything was fine. Then I went back in and created a site map and suddenly, when I open the web page, the Site Map shows up first, instead of the home page. Is there a way to determine page order? I've checked to make sure that this page is not showing in any of my other states/pages. Help?

Have you checked which state is set as the default? You can see which state is the default by the dark dot in the upper right of the color bar. To set it, right-click (option-click) on the state that you want the as the default from the contextual menu that will appear.

Problems with the Oracle Home Page (maybe Norton Internet Security)

Hello Everybody!
Like others messages, I've got problems to see the Oracle 10g Home Page. I can log to the database in SQL Plus perfectly, but not in Home Page. I tried by the following ways:

http://127.0.0.1:1521
http://{my_ip_adress}:8080
http://localhost:8080
and I can't display anything. I've got WinXP Professional Edition and Norton Internet Security. I tried to connect changing the options of Norton's Firewall, but the Home Page doesn't work. Somebody has any idea what´s my problem?? If so, tell me please. I've worked many nights in the solution, but the problem still be there.

To diagnose a installation issue:-
Please provide the following
1) The output (from the DOS command line) of lsnrctl status
2) The output (from the DOS command line) of netstat -a
3) The output (from the SQL Command line) of
connect / as sysdba;
select select dbms_xdb.gethttpport() from dual;
Please note that the output of netstat -a can provide information that could be used to compromise your system. If the system is on the network, please upload the output to the upload site.
If this checks out correctly (8080 is the port), then it is a browser issue. These can be legion. Check that you are not going to a proxy server for 127.0.0.1 or host. Check that you are not disabling access to 127.0.0.1 or host in your browser. Check that cookies are enabled. If possible, try a different browser (copy and paste the URL from one to another) Check that the host name you are providing actually resolves to your local machine (ping host)

Safari - cannot change home page

I've been struggling to change the home page but cannot seem to get rid of the default Mac page. I have changed home page in preferences, and the required page is showing clearly. However, the Apple page still loads every time I start Safari or open a new tab. Obviously there is something I am doing wrong. Any views on this?

This is really odd indeed two years of this! Sorry for your frustration.
I think trying the Test or new account as Andy; )recommended would
be very telling.
Then you may have shipped the corrupt preference file over as well.
you say Change home page to either another URL or "blank"

Close Safari
Open and apple page appears yet again (despite preferences being to, say, blank).
Just to be clear In Safari pref. the General tab;
In the -> New windows open with: drop down is that set to "Home Page"
You paste the preferred Url or you browse there
Click on use "Current Page" when on the page you want
and this does not work for you.
it will not work if it is set to anything but the "Home page"
I reiterated because you speak of "blank" does that mean you set it on
Empty.
I don't mean to be stubborn, it is just that i have had this issue.
Mine was caused by an over site with the Empty/ bookmark etc. option
on the drop down.

When I open Firefox to my home page then go to a secomd page firefox does not remember my home page when I try to go back to my home page by using the back button

When I open up Firefox it goes to my home page, then I surf the web but when I go the the back button it shows my history but not my home page (or the first page I went to).

Do you get the same two tabs when you launch a new window (Command+n) or only at startup?
You may want to check your extensions in case something snuck in. You can review and disable those on the Add-ons page. Either:
* Command+Shift+a
* "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable.
Usually a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
Does that shut down the extra page?
