Std SAP Quetionaire for Implementing for WM & Batch Management

Hi Friends
Can you help me for Std SAP Quetionaire for Implementing for WM & Batch Management. As i want to implement Batch Mangement & Warehouse Management in Client System.
The Document i am looking for shall be roadmap in order to fully utilize the availble functionalities.
Please Help ASAP.
Thanks

Dear Saurabh,
Don't take it other-wise, But my Approach is Far-Far Different from Others:
In any Implementation, for any Software Module, Two Important Aspects:
1. Knowledge about that Particular Software/ Module. Functionality-wise, You must know the Capabilities of Software -
a. What Process can be Mapped, in Standard Package
b. What Process can be mapped via Customization
c. What could not be achieved i.e. System Restrictions
2. One must be able to understand Clients' Industry-Specific Business Processes and Requiremements.
Untill-Unless, One is not able to Clearify himself on above Two-Basic-Points, How could he able to resolve/ assist others?
Also, Its not like that one fine day, I got-up and find myself in Consultant's Shoes. I think, Your Company must have provided Basic Assistance, in order to groom, as per your Profile.
Consult your Senior Consultants - WM (MM) for the same.
Best Regards,
Amit
Note: I, myself, upgrading as BW Consultant from SD-Consulant, for an Upcoming Project. A sufficient Time-Frame is being provided my Org., in advance as well as,  proper guidance has been provided by my Senior-Mates, at my Professional-end.

    Hi,
Use RTA on SAP BASIS 7.00 System for any system other than ECC which has ABAP and Basis Level 7.00 with Kernel 7.00
I don't see any option for 7.20, may be it will be available later on.
We have SRM connected to GRC so I can cofirm, yes it is possible to connect SRM to GRC and work with SRM rulebook. RTA and Post-RTA activites and JCO and RAR connectors are a must to get it work properly. In fact all configurations are required as it is in ECC system.
No HR RTA is required ,as there is no HR module in SRM.

  • Set batch management  for reasons of cost management item cannot be deleted

Discovery was made that a material should have had batch management MARC-XCHPF selected.  Within that time sales orders were created as well as sales order stock.  411E movements were done to get rid of the sales order stock, and it can not be seen in MMBE.  MD04 is also clear.  New attempt to add batch management in the plant displayed errors - SD Documents exist (orders or deliveries) that have not yet been
processed or that have been processed only in part.

For reasons of cost management, item 000020 cannot be deleted.
    Diagnosis
You tried to delete a sales document item for which cost management is carried out. Cost management can exist at item level for
       - make-to-order production
       - make-to-order stock
       - service contract item
    Procedure
Enter a reason for rejection at item level.
I found a similar problem on the forum but not really a solution other than throwing in the towel and making new materials.

    Hi
What I understand from your thread is:
    You have chekced batchmanagement in
material master & after working some time you want to remove that tick mark.
First of all one should understand that for what ever reason batch management is ON, you can not reverse it .
Either activation or deactivation of batchmanagement is irreversible.
Oflat SAP had come with a note telling that how to proceed with reversal batch management.
I have gone through that note .Finally SAP wants to take consultancy with some fees to make reversal.
It is all pain ful job.
If you can do it abandom thta material & create new material.
This is the solution I can give.
Hope it is celar to you.

  • Batch Management-Change of batch level

    Hi Friends,
I would like to convert the Batch level using T-Code "OMCE" from "batch unique at the material level" to "batch unique at the plant level." When I attempt to change the configuration, I receive a message that "This type of conversion is not yet implemented"
Could any one tell me to change batch level from material level to plant level.
Your help is very much appreciated.

    Hi,
First check is there any stock available for any material with batch managed if it is there then stock out means make stock zero for current & previous period then try to run the conversion program as per procedure given by SAP.
If you choose plant level, the batch number is unique in conjunction with the respective material and the plant. If you choose material level, the batch number is unique together with the material. At client level, the batch number is unique in the whole client.
To change the batch level, you have to start a conversion program. This program first checks whether conversion is possible and outputs an error log containing all batch numbers that occur more than once at the new level. Now you need to manually transfer these batch records to batch numbers within Inventory Management using a transfer posting 'material to material'.
If you change the level from plant level to a higher level, it is possible that batches with the same batch numbers in different plants are actually identical.  In this case, all you have to do is remove stocks (including previous period stocks) so that all batches with the same batch numbers, except one, can be reorganized.
When you convert from plant level to material level, the material is then to be handled in batches in all plants in which it is defined.
To change the batch level, proceed as follows:
    1. Choose the level at which you want your batches to be unique.
    2. Save the new settings and choose Back.
    3. Choose Batch level -> Conversion.
    4. If necessary, carry out the conversion in test mode first.

    According to my understanding:
    1. creste charachteristic and assign the chts to class.
    2. assign class to material master, and batch is activated in all area.
3.sort sequence is assigned to chts.
4.batch search strategy  is assigned with strategy type.

  • Batch management and returns

Hi we are a soft drink manufacturer, we have batch management for raw materials but also need it for finished goods.  OK so no problem works well so far.  However we do send out trucks with product on board, those truck may not sell all of the product on the truck that day so we need to bring partial pallets / batches back to the warehouse.  In SAP how do we do the batch management on partial pallets or batches.  It is not convenient to create a new batch for one case of soft drinks or maintain an existing batch for one case.  Anyone have any thoughts on how to manage this process?
Looking forward to reading your thoughts on this.
    Regards,

Hi Mario, I've been reading up on documentary batches and a few questions if you are able to answer.
    The information say
You can enter document batches in the following process steps:
u2022 Goods receipt for external procurement
    u2022 Goods receipt for subcontracting
    u2022 Goods issue for subcontracting
    u2022 Goods receipt from production
    u2022 Goods issue to production
    u2022 Picking delivery to customer
Doesn't mention bringing the product back into stock .... is this supported
    And
No functions in batch status management (in other words, no stock postings take place when the batch status changes
So will docuementary batches support my scenario where product is loaded onto a truck partially sold then returned to warehouse to be loaded again the next day?
Can you hightlight the steps to complete this process if possible?
    Thanks

  • Article with Batch management in POS Inbound

    Dear SAP Experts,
I encountered problem for POS inbound for articles that activated Batch Management in SAP Retail. The system always send error message to require the batch, however, I cannot give SAP the batch number I want to update the stock by using POS inbound (both aggregated sales and sales per receipt). I cannot find any IDOC type that support that.
I don't know whether SAP Retail supports batch management for article or not. In case they support it, how can we do the POS inbound for the articles.
    Hope to get your supports,
    Thanks in advance,

    hi,
"Batch management requirement cannot be changed" -
Once the material is made relevant for batch -by putting a tick in any of the relevant views in material master -it cannot be changed again if any delievry / stock is already maintained for that material.

  • New Batch Management & Retest Dates

    Dear SAP Techies,
For my Pharma company, batch management needs to be activated for the materials which are not batch managed(some are managed) as of now.
'For that matter, the current stock of such materials needs to be consumed temporarily and needs to be brought back to the system in a single batch after activating the batch management.
Then the inspection type u201C09u201D needs to be added and activated and inspection interval needs to be defined.'
This was solution given by SAP Team.
But can someone help me as HOW SHOULD I CONSUME STOCK TEMPORARILY & BE BROUGHT BACK IN BATCHES.?
ALSO HOW TO ACTIVATE SCHEDULING OF "NEXT INSPECTION DATE" FOR BATCH MANAGED PHARMA GOODS.?
It would be grateful if you all can help on this. Thank you.

You have two separate issues here.
The first issue here is activating batch management for a material of which there is inventory.  This is not easy.  There are many threads out there on this.  Here's two of them.
wants to activate batch management for a material which already had a Stock
    http://www.sapfans.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=289203
Basically you have to remove your inventory of the material from the system via a material movement like 562, activate batch management, then bring the material back like via a 561 movement type.  You can reload the inventory using 561 directly into the batches you want to create from your exisiting inventory or as SAP suggested, load it as a single batch, then use standard stock movements to transfer the inventory into the actual batches.
Once you do that, you must update the batch records with the proper expiration dates, (MSC2N) for your exisitng inventory.
As far as reinspection, there are many threads on setting that up.  Here are some to get you started.

  • Why Batch Management is required?

    Hello Experts,
I am going through all notes available in SPRO related to Batch Management and able to understand the settings for the same.
However, I do not have any idea what is the importnace of Batch Management? Why do we do that? And where its required?
Can you throw some light on the same?
    Thanks And Regards,
    Krupesh Kothari.

In various industries u2013 particularly the process industry u2013 you have to work with homogenous partial quantities of a material or product throughout the logistics quantity and value chain.
There are various reasons for this:
Legal requirements (for example, the guidelines set out by GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) or regulations on hazardous material
Defect tracing, callback activities, and regression requirement
The need for differentiated quantity-and value-based Inventory Management (for example, due to heterogeneous yield/result qualities or varying constituents in Production.
Differences in usage and the monitoring thereof in materials planning in SD and Production.
Production or procedural requirements (for example, settlement of material quantities on the basis of different batch specifications).
    Integration
Batch Management is integrated in all applications of the R/3 System. It supports the management and processing of batches in all of a companyu2019s business processes.
    Features
    Batch number assignment
You use this function to assign a batch with a number that uniquely identifies it.
    Batch specifications
You use this function to describe each batch uniquely using characteristics and characteristic values. You specify the permitted value range in the allocated material master record.
    Batch status management
You use this function to indicate whether a batch is usable or unusable. You set this status:
Manually in the batch master record or at goods receipt
Automatically in the usage decision in quality management
    Batch determination
With this function, you can use various criteria to search for batches that are in stock, for example:
    when posting goods issues
when combining suitable material components for production orders and process orders
when creating a delivery according to particular customer requirements
    Batch where-used list
The batch record contains all quality-relevant planned and actual data for the production of a batch and complies with the GMP guidelines (Good Manufacturing Practices) for the pharmaceutical industry and food industry.
The path of the batch from Procurement to delivery to your customer is shown in the batch where-used list.
For more information, refer to Archiving Batch Records (PP-PI) in the BC - SAP ArchiveLink Scenarios PP documentation.
    Active ingredient management
You use this function to administrate and process materials with active ingredients that are to be handled in batches.
    also see following:
The following process chain describes how batch management could look when integrated into the relevant SAP component.
    Process Flow
    Sales & Distribution
A sales order for a material subject to handling in batches is posted.
You have previously agreed with the customer that the batches of the material he is supplied with must meet certain specifications.
you run a batch determination, as well as a batch availability and usability check. The system determines that the sales order cannot be met with the present stock.
a requirement is transferred to production.
    Production
A production order (discrete manufacturing) or a process order (process manufacturing) is created for the material to be handled in batches due to the posted sales order.
A batch number can be assigned for the quantity of material to be produced.
As raw materials with certain specifications are required for the manufacture of this material, batch determination is triggered.
If a sufficient quantity of raw material is available, the selected batches are reserved for the production or process order
    Purchasing
If there is an insufficient quantity of raw material, the required quantity with the appropriate specifications is ordered from the vendor.
    Goods Receipt
Due to the purchase order created by purchasing, the raw material is posted to the stock in quality inspection during goods receipt.
The batch is assigned a batch number.
    An inspection lot is created.
    Quality Management
The delivered batch of raw material is subject to quality inspection.
The inspection results are recorded, and become available to batch determination as soon as the usage decision has been recorded.
The batch is posted to either restricted or unrestricted stock.
    Warehouse Management
The batch of raw material is placed into stock at storage bin level.
    Production
Before production commences, an availability check is run as part of batch determination.
The production or process order is released.
A batch number is assigned to the material to be produced.
The shop floor papers (PI sheet, for example) are created.
An order-related inspection lot is created for quality inspection.
The raw materials warehouse is notified of the transport requirement for material provision.
    Warehouse Management
Using the transport requirement, the batch of raw materials is provided at the correct time and date.
    Production
The manufacturing process is completed, the batch of raw material is consumed.
    Inventory management
The goods issue for the batch of raw material required by production is posted.
    Quality Management
Inspections are conducted during the manufacturing process.
    The inspection results are recorded.
    A usage decision is made.
    Inventory Management
The batch produced is posted to the stock in quality inspection.
    An inspection lot is created.
    Quality Management
The batch produced is subject to a quality inspection for final release.
    The inspection results are recorded.
    A usage decision is made.
    Inventory Management
The batch produced is posted to unrestricted-use stock.
    Sales & Distribution
During delivery, batch determination is conducted with reference to the sales order.
During batch determination, an availability check is carried out.
Using the inspection results for quality management, inspection certificates can be automatically created.
    Inventory Management
    The goods issue is posted.
For detailed information on batch management in Inventory Management, refer to the MM - Inventory Management documentation.

Now every transactions and data are working properly. But we need clarity on the master data upload and inventory upload.
Suppose if we need to carry out the for the same material Batch to be activated or whether we need to go for new material and batch management active , Pleaes clarify on the process and also how we could upload the existing inventory from the existing NON Batch material into BATCH material (Which is created wholly as a new materail with batch)
KIndly provide on the above 2 points which would be helpful for our business.
    Thanks and Regards,

    Hi
I think with the help of  FI create a dummy cost centre and issue the material to the cost centre ,
Look no Purchase requisitions or purchase orders are open on the material
activate batch management to material and using 202 movement get back the material .
as the process is very tedious use the help of badis for updating and cancellation if required
this may be only process for activating new batches for material
