Stemming on app keywords?
Hey guys, quick question: does any of you know if Apple is performing stemming on submitted keywords, and respectively on the keywords that people use to search with in the app store?
To give an example, let's say I plan on submitting an iPhone app about cars, and I want it to show if the user searches for "car" or "cars" in the app store. Do I have to add both keywords, "car" AND "cars", or is it sufficient to add "car"?
Couldn't find anything related to this in the "App Store Quick Reference:
Assigning Keywords For Your App" document.
Thanks.

I am interested in exporting the meta data and keyword information from a series of events. Basically, I'd like to be able to subsequently import this data into a spreadsheet, so I could have a table that presents clip name, duration, keywords, etc. I would like to share this "inventory" with others, as part of a planned collaborative effort.
I've fooled around a bit with the XML export, but the data is not parsed and seemingly difficult to use.
Anybody solved this issue?!There is an fcpx app in the Mac App Store for this now called Keywords by Rainer Standke:

Cannot update apps because of wrong Apple ID!
Hi,
I bought a new MacBook from Apple Store yesterday and updated to Yosemite. There are updates available for iPhoto, iMovie, Pages, Numbers, Keynote and GarageBand but I can't update them. The following error occurs:
"This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled."
I don't know how to deal with this. If the Apple ID is not mine!!! so how did I update the OS? It is just me that used the laptop and the only Apple ID that is used in this computer is mine, if the updates are not applicable for this Apple ID why does the Apple Store show them to me?!Please test after each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved. Back up all data before making any changes. Keep in mind that no one here represents Apple or can help with customer-service issues.
Step 1
A purchased app can only be updated by signing in to the App Store with the same Apple ID that was originally used to buy it. There's no way around that limitation, which also applies to free apps. If you can't sign in with the buyer's ID, delete the app and reinstall it. You'll have to pay for it again, if applicable.
Step 2
If you get the alert when trying to update a bundled iLife app, select the Purchases page in the App Store and locate the app in your purchase history. If there's a button marked ACCEPT on the right, click it.
If you have a used Mac, the bundled apps were linked to the original owner's Apple ID and can't be transferred to you. Reportedly, customer service has issued redemption codes to some second owners who asked, but it's not guaranteed.
Step 3
If you're trying to update iLife or iWork apps that were installed from a purchased DVD, or if you have a refurbished Mac bought directly from Apple, contact App Store customer service for a redemption code. You may be asked for the part number of the DVD.
Step 4
From the App Store menu bar, select
Store ▹ View My Account
Enter your Apple ID password at the prompt. At the lower right corner of the window that opens, click the Reset button. Close the window.

Hi.,
I am using a link in my bar chart. In the new page there is showing a report. I need to give reset pagination for that page so that whenever I enter there by clicking the link it should display the the first 'n' set of records. I have tried to create an unconditional branching to the new page in which I have given the reset pagination. But in my first page I am using a button which is just submitting and showing the same page. As I have given the branching it is going to the new page when I click the button. Can anyone help me to resolve this.?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks & Regards
CharlsHi,
Please see URL syntax

In URL you can reset pagination
>
ClearCache:
To clear cached items on a single page, specify the numeric page number. To clear cached items on multiple pages, use a comma-separated list of page numbers. Clearing a page's cache also resets any stateful processes on the page. Individual or comma-separated values can also include collection names to be reset or the keyword RP, which resets region pagination on the requested page. The keyword APP clears cache for all pages and all application-level items in the current application and removes sort preferences for the current user. The keyword SESSION achieves the same result as the APP keyword, but clears items associated with all applications that have been used in the current session.

If you report is interactive, use RIR or CIR instead of RP

Can commas within topic titles and *.htm filenames affect hyperlink jumps?
I have two topics that I'm trying to jump to from other
topics. The thing these two topics have in common is that I
originally used commas and apostrophes in the topic titles and
*.htm filenames. This seemed to screw things up, since my jumps to
the topics never worked.
I deleted the topics that were causing problems and re-added
them without using the punctuation. I still can't jump to these
topics. To test whether there was a restriction on the maximum
number of jumps you can add in one project, I created a jump to an
entirely different topic - the jump worked.
So, I think something got corrupted with these topics. I
could try deleting them and adding them "fresh" again, but I
thought I'd post here to see if anyone has come across the problem
before.
thanks in advance,
ChristyGI was able to fix the problem by re-creating (for a second
time) the topic titles and files and not using any punctuation
whatsover. I think the problem stemmed from the keywords that were
used/unused/deleted/reused. I went to the Index tab, selected "See
Also" from the drop list, and deleted any keywords that were
bolded.

Our apps use the NTLM single sign-on with the page sentry code posted on this forum. But there are some authorization schemes that run once-per-session and use some session state that is established in the post-authentication block of the authentication scheme.
Short of closing all browser windows and re-launching the app, is there some way in Apex to get a new session, similar to logging out and logging in? I see that the APP keyword in the f?p= URL's purge-cache position clears out all session state but it retains the session id so it doesn't address the issue I mention above.
Thoughts? ThanksHello Vikas,
>> How would that API be invoked?
Unfortunately, I’m not really the guy to help you with all the intricacies details. I believe you should try Jason Straub from the development team. You can try through his blog.
In general, there isn’t one procedure that covers the entire logout-login-authentication cycle. You actually need to invoke several procedures, one after the other.
>> Ideally, it would be via a link available from anywhere in the application, like a Navigation bar entry. But links don't submit the page and so can't invoke a server side process …
Yes, but they can invoke a stored procedure. As you mentioned the Navigation Bar, you should hover over the ‘logout’ entry of the Application Builder Navigation Bar and see how it invokes the logout procedure. You can do something similar with your own procedure, which will invoke all the necessary procedures to complete the full cycle you need.
>> Thinking out aloud, would the session timeout feature introduced in 3.2 be of use here?
This feature can be controlled using the APEX_UTIL.SET_SESSION_MAX_IDLE_SECONDS procedure.
Regards,
Arie.

I'd like a search keyword-based RSS Feed for iOS apps. Possible?
It's great that Apple offers a variety of RSS feeds for the iTunes store. I'd like to be able to further hone the feed to particular search-based keywords. For example, limit the top paid apps to just those about dogs or some other long-tail (I did NOT mean that as a pun :-) ) keyword term. Is this possible?
Alternatively, if one could convert Apple JSON-based searches into an RSS feed, that would do the trick, too. An example JSON feed:
http://itunes.apple.com/search?term=dog&entity=iPadSoftware&limit=200If you want more, then see these (if you're not coming from windoze, skip the switching stuff):

IOS photo app vs iPhoto, keywords, smart albums, face detection?
greetings,
i have some questions about iOS photos app in comparison to iPhoto (in 10.8). i've done a little searching on the web and in the forum, but didn't see this covered...
i always sync my iPhone to my mac, copy/import my photos to iPhoto, and use iPhoto to organize my photos. in iPhoto, i tag photos (keywords) and use "smart albums" to access all my photos based upon the keyword tags. face detection in iPhoto is GREAT!. i have all my friends faces named and finding them by "people" grouping is fantastic. the down side to all of this is that i have everything working great on my mac, but usually i'm using the photos app in the iPhone to show pics to my friends since that is what i have with me. i'm not sure if this information in iPhoto ever gets synced back to my iPhone.
1- does the iOS photos app have any of these features from iPhoto?
in other words, can i tag photos, lable the faces of friends, set up smart albums in iOS photos? if so, please point me to some info. i haven't seen an obvious way to do any of this.
2- can i sync what i do in iPhoto back to my iPhone?
in other words, can i get the tags, peoples' names on their faces, and smart albums copied from iPhotos back to my iPhone? is there some setting or command in iPhoto, or somewhere else?
3- i just turned on photostream. can/does this iPhoto data transfer via photostream to the iPhone?
i have an iPhone 4.
i am just about ready to upgrade from iOS 5 to iOS 6. so if any of these features are specific to iOS 6, please let me know.
i'd appreciate it if you could mention if there is anything special about iOS in the iPad, because a friend has asked me how she can do in her iPad (iOS 6), what i do with iPhoto in my mac.
thank you for any suggestions or advice. You're best bet would be to do your own comparison: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/iphoto/id497786065?mt=8

Import keywords and ratings into Aperture from adobe apps?
Hi,
I'm currently using adobe bridge/ps2/pse etc as my main apps. I use keywords and ratings extensively.
When I import my photos into aperture, will I also be able to keep my current ratings/keyword tagging?
Thanks.I also used Bridge/ACR to rate and add keywords to RAWS (Canon) and also used Adobe DNG converter to make DNG files from these.
No ratings or keywords have imported for any RAWs and DNGs. And, for some DNG files (which I can see in Bridge and iViewMedia), they cannot be displayed in Aperture. It's very strange since I've used the same workflow to create the DNG files over the past year. Some can be imported/viewed, some cannot be viewed. All originally from the same camera/RAW file. I've read in this forum that Aperture cannot read things like keywords from sidecar files.
I am hopeful that Apple will make DNG sidecar file import a big priority.

I have a large number of apps that exceed the capacity of my multiple idevices and I want to be able to create app lists (similar to playlists) so I can change what goes onto my idevices quickly depending on what is going on. Individually picking apps in itunes each time is time-consuming so I was wondering if there was a way to associate tags or user-assigned keywords to apps so they could be filtered/ searched to select the ones I want.

Search keywords on a purchased app
Ok, this is going to sound silly, but a few weeks ago I wanted to download this app but my iPhone didn't have the latest update that was required for that app, so I could not download. Instead I downloaded a similar app that was listed in the same search results. I have now updated my iPhone (and here comes the silly part...) and I cannot for the life of me remember the name of that app, or the phrase I used to search for it and cant find it in any other relevant searches. So my dumb question is, is there any way to maybe view the keywords of the other app I did download and use them in my app store search so maybe I can get similar results to my original search and find the app I was looking for? Also for future reference, is there any way to bookmark an app in the store so I wont have this problem again? I know, its dumb and probably impossible, but doesn't hurt to ask right?
Try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that app and use the 'Report a Problem' link and fill in details about the problem (iTunes support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours).
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work (it's been taking some people to this site on a browser instead of showing a form in iTunes) then you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page.
