Step 3 in Adobe Reader Load

I get to step 2 of 3 at Finish of the Reader load.  I've waited 5 minutes for Step 3 to display but no luck.  What's wrong?

Please try to download Reader from this link: http://get.adobe.com/reader/

  • I can't see pdf files. Have Adobe reader loaded

sometimes I can and then I can't. as far as I know I am doing nothing differently. Very frustrating. Am new to mac and on a very steep learning curve. Help witl be appreciated.

As Rick mentioned Preview is very useful, if you don't know how to get to it there are several ways. My favorite for launching apps is the use Spotlight (that is the magnifying glass in the upper right of your screen) by using a keyboard shortcut of Command + Spacebar then typing the name, that way I don't have to take my hands off the  keyboard. You can also navigate to any App in your Dock  or using Finder by going to the Applications folder. Because you are new to OS X I'd recommend bookmarking and beginning to use:
    Switch 101
    Mac 101

  • How to enable my plug-in for loading by Adobe Reader?

I create a plug-in for Adobe Reader, but after 5 seconds by Adobe Reader loaded my plug-in,  the Adobe Reader will prompt "Invalid plugin detected. Adobe Reader will quit", and then the Adobe Reader will be disabled.
what's the problem? what should I do?

    Yes, I read this section.
    The contentis as follows:
Visit the Adobe web site and fill out an Adobe Reader Integration Key License Agreement. There is a fee involved. The Adobe Reader Integration Key Licensing Agreement can only be submitted as a web form. Information can be found at http://www.adobe.com/go/acrobat_developer.
Once your Adobe Reader Integration Key Licensing Agreement is approved, you will receive a contract package that includes your contract number and other information that is unique to you.
but when I click the web link: http://www.adobe.com/go/acrobat_developer, it will jump to http://www.adobe.com/devnet/acrobat.html, as follows picture:

  • Adobe Reader or something else

I have tried to be patient and loyal to my Adobe Reader on my Android phone and tablet but now I think I am finaly going start making the break from Adobe Reader to something else. I purchased ezPDF Reader almost a year ago and haven't used it much but have started using it again and am liking what I see. There are more annotation features. I have a PDF document with an emebedded sound file that won't play in Adobe Reader but will in ezPDF Reader. Text reflow, while far from perfect in both readers, is somewhat cleaner in ezPDF Reader than Adobe Reader. There are lots more features and I'm just getting started with my exploration.
It doesn't seem to me that Adobe is very interested in mobile. Case in point is when they got rid of a load of mobile apps and kept just a few with most of the few iOS only. I used to have Adobe Ideas but since I got rid of my iPad Mini I don't have it anymore and now only have Photoshop Touch and Adobe Reader. Is it because PDF is on it's way out or not a viable solution to mobile platforms? In the nearly two years I have had Adobe Reader very few useful improvements have been added or updated to it. There is no mobile prerelease program. There is no noticable way to give feedback or feature requests. If there is something then like a lot of things on the Adobe site you have to really dig to find it. There is this forum but most of the time it's like posting to a black hole and you wonder if any of the developers read it. There is very little feedback.
If Adobe created a paid version of Adobe Reader loaded with great features Adobe is noted for then I would purchase it.
This isn't a total abandonment. I'm still going to keep an eye on Adobe Reader but Adobe you're moving too slow.
    A short wish list
JavaScript capability in forms so I can fill out an order form or billing form and totals will be calculated.
More anotation features such as more flexible highlight colors and choices and note icons.
    Play embedded sounds and movies.

Truth be told, we have quite a few people working on the Mobile Readers. I'll be honest, it's pretty hard. For many reasons, we can't just directly port the existing desktop product directly to these mobile platforms. They aren't yet powerful enough and the experience with touch is totally different. It's important to remember that we have 20+ years of history developing the desktop product. We've been working on the mobile products 3-4 years. I don't expect that we'll completely catch up anytime soon =).
To answer some of the specific requests on the short list:
    * On android, we do have some JavaScript capability. Most specifically, calculation, validation and formatting for forms has some limited support and we're adding to it all the time.
    * We've actively avoided adding too many options to the product to make it simpler and make experience better. In fact, some of us think one of the mistakes we added in the desktop product was adding too much. We have an easy way to choose from 8-10 highlight colors and feel like that's enough. We thought a color picker would be overkill. I'm curious how you'd use this. Maybe we are missing your use case in our thinking!
    * We don't play embedded videos, sounds and movies, though this is on our backlog and at some point we'd like to get to it. That said, the primary reason we haven't done it is that we're limited by the devices. In many cases, the devices will only play very specific codecs for audio and video. It's simpler to explain to users that "it just doesn't work on mobile" than to try to educate them about audio/video codecs and why it works sometimes and not others. For what it's worth, if you add the audio/video as an attachment AND it's properly encoded in a way that the device can handle it, you can play the audio/video.
Bottom line, we're working on it. I should say though that "Feature Parity" has never been a design goal. We want to add what makes sense rather than blindly moving every feature from the desktop to mobile platforms. Progress is always slower than you/we like, but know that we are working on improving the product.

  • Adobe Reader 9 can't detect corrupted files?

I have a program that checks whether a pdf file is corrupted by opening the file using Adobe Reader and detecting any errors raised by it.
We recently upgraded to using Adobe Reader 9 from Adobe Reader 6. Now, the program can't detect some corrupted files if I don't check each file per page.
I think this is because th newer versions of Adobe Reader load pdf files on demand instead of loading the whole file upon opening.
Is there a setting or command line parameter I can use to force Adobe Reader 9 to load whole pdf files upon opening them?

The application doesn't actually integrate with Adobe Reader, it just opens it by calling it with the command line and using the filename as a parameter. The application only checks if the Reader's window raised an error.

  • HELP HELP : Registration of Adobe Reader Installed in Nov-2014

I have a computer guy who installed the free versin of Adobe Reader (10.1.13) last November 2014.  I have not had occasion to use this software much, but 2 days ago I needed to.  I finished a document in MS Publisher and needed a PDF version.  I hit print, chose PDF in the print dialog box and hit go.  Adobe Reader loaded and made the PDF except that there was a large diagonal watermark across the document saying "UNREGISTERED".
Clearly my computer guy didn't establish an Adobe account and register the software's use.  For the last 24 hours I have been trying to register this product and failed.  I have set up an Adobe account but there is no where I can see to retrieve the registration number of this installed product.  I have tried to install Adobe XI but I use Vista on a 32bit PC and as far as I can ascertain XI will not install on Vista.  I have tried to re-install Reader X but it just stops and tells me that the software is already installed.
How can I register my Adobe Reader X that was installed in November last year and thus remove the large diagonal "UNREGISTERED" watermark that apperas across my PDF's???????
    Please help I'm getting desperate.

Thank you so much for this answer - it started a little investigation and you are correct.  The PDF Printer was win8PDF software and it was unregistered.  So I downloaded an MS plug-in and I can now create PDF's by saving to as opposed to printing to.
    Thanks again.

  • Unable to save LiveCycle PDF form in Adobe Reader: Steps on Adobe don't work

I went to follow the steps provided in the help video on Adobe. Two issues I couldn't solve:
How do you login to LiveCycle via the web as an admin? How do you get to the LiveCycle admin portal?
The local host (http://localhost:8080/ReaderExtensions) is unavailable. Every time I try to go there I get a 500 error message page. What is the new local host?
    The steps I followed were:
So according to a video on its official website, in order to enable LiveCycle forms in Reader so they can be saved you need an Adobe Reader Extension which means we need a Reader Extension Credential loaded onto the server. For that you need to purchase a Reader extension license from Adobe.
However, there is a trial version Eric or Jay could instal for me on the Remote Desktop. They can find it at:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/livecycle.html
They will want to download the “Trial Reader Extensions Certificate” under “Downloads and updates”. It’s a 30 day trial which should work fine for our needs.
The credential then needs to be imported into the Adobe Administrator. To do that they need to:
Login to LiveCycle as an admin (via the web?)
    Go to “Settings"
    Go to “Trust store management”
    Go to “Local credentials”
    Click “Import"
Trust store type should be “Reader Extensions Credential”
Give it a name (i.e. Alias)
    Browse to credential file
    .pfx is the credential file
    .txt is the password
    Right-click the .txt
    Click “Open”
    Copy password from notepad
    Close notepad
    Open the .pfx file
Paste in password copied from .txt file under “Password” in import form
    Click OK
Then there’s something about going to Adobe LiveCycle Reader Extensions program (http://localhost:8080/ReaderExtensions). Don’t ask. I’m personally lost at this point.
In Extensions program they need to:
    Select the Extensions credential
Click the check box next to
    “Basic form fill-in”
    “Import and export data”
    “Submit outside of web browser”
    “Database and web service connectivity”
    “Digital Signatures”
    “Commenting”
    “Online Commenting"
    Set “Draft Level” to “Final”
Click the check box next to “Full Save”
“Browse” to the SNAP Survey I created and saved on the server.
    Click “Apply”
    In new window that appears:
    Click “Download”
    Save back to the server

If you're on the machine that's running LC the administrator console is http://localhost:8080/adminui
If you're not able to get to localhost:8080/ReaderExtensions then I suspect the LiveCycle server is not on your machine.  If that's the case you'll have to find out the name of the server running LiveCycle and connect using that name instead of localhost.

  • "can't load because some files are already in use" - Adobe reader!  How do i close whatever i can't find that they say is in use!?

Can anyone help me get Adobe reader 11 installed??? The error message when I'm practically done says the file can't be loaded because some files are already in use - and it refers to Adobe reader!  What do I do to get past this??? Help!  I need to install adobe!

    Hi Jody414,
Use the Acrobat Cleaner tool ( Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs ) to remove Reader completely from the machine.
Download Reader 11 from: Adobe - Adobe Reader Distribution   and install and check.

  • Unable to load pdf documents on internet after downloading adobe reader XI

    Hi,
I have just downloaded adobe reader XI. However when I try to load pdf documents off the internet there is an error message that says there is a problem with adobe reader with error 507:507. I am running on windows 7. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
    thanks & regards,
    Selin

my os is 32-bit windows 7 version 6.1 , i am using internet explorer 9. It works fine when i download it to my disk and open it from there.
The problem suddenly happened for Adobe Reader X previously which I then uninstalled and installed Adobe Reader XI, but it didnt seem to solve the problem.

  • Adobe Reader XI is not working. I have used the cleanup tool and reinstalled it. I try to open a .pdf file in the program the window will open and load all the tabs but I am never able to actually interact with them.

I am unable to use adobe reader xi. I have tried to use the clean up tool and re install the reader. That doesn't seem to help. I go to open the pdf file in the reader and the window will load but I am not able to do anything past that point. Almost as if the program freezes once loaded I never get a not responding error until I open the task manager on the computer.

Can you open Reader by itself?  If so, try disabling Protected Mode [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].

  • PDF is searchable with FoxIt but not in Adobe Reader X. Exact same .PDF file is loaded. Why?

I have been trying to figure out why my .PDF file was not searchable in Adobe Reader X. I downloaded and installed FoxIt PDF software to see if it was a problem only in Adobe Reader X and to my amazement it was Adobe Reader X that is the failure. But why? Does anyone else experience this issue. That is, loading .PDF files that are not searchable in Adobe Reader X but work perfectly fine in FoxIt?

    Hi,
What i understood from "searchable" is "searching text in a PDF document" , am I right?
which version of Adobe Reader are you using ?
Please also share the PDF file in which you are facing the problem in searching with Adobe Reader.
    Thanks.
