Transportation of plng areas in bps

i have two plng areas and upon this one mult plng area(MPA). Upon MPA plng folder built. i have to transport this model to production.
i have transported two transactional cubes to production. now i have to move plng areas & then MPA. first i have to move 2 plng areas and then mulitprovder. And after i have to transport plng folder? is sequence correct. can i store 2 plng areas in same customizing req. Or can i put all plng areas(2 plng area + one MPA) in single customizing req? For plng folder it's single req.

Display Blocked BPs-Can we see all detailed analyses in a one step process?

Before releasing any BPs blocked by the system our compliance users check the details of the blocks.
Currently it is a 2 step process (after they are in the detailed screen of the Display Blocked Business Partners menu):
1 u2013 Double click on the name of the blocked BPs.
2 u2013 Click on icon u201CDisplay All Detailed Analysesu201D to show detailed analysis of all hits.
Is there any way we can make it a one step process and see all details analysis immediately after selecting the blocked BPs?
SAP Compliance Management -> Sanctioned Party List Screening -> Monitoring -> Business Partner -> Display Blocked Business Partners.

We can go to the SPL BP blocked list from the path you have mentioned. In the list select a line item and at the header there is partner. If you click on that you can see detailed analysis in there. Just click on it and it would be one step for you. But from here you can't release.

can anybody say me how I can learn SEM-BPS/BW BPS in release 3.5
I'm very new and i have no idee what i can learn this.
Is there an ebook or a special page.
Please refer not to a normal book.
I want an ebook or an internet page for free.
I need anything which I can learn step by step with good examples.

I believe that hardly noone can learn a software with the complexity a flexibility of BW-BPS, without a significant investment, both in time and resources. Having work for the previous 7 years in SAP I would say the same about any other SAP product I worked with.
Presentations and elearning may show you glimpses of functionalities but ...learning BPS...forget it.
The best way to learn is by attending an SAP Education course. Still I haven't found an investment with a better ROI.

How to call function module in BPS for step by step execution.??

Hi All,
I used the Exit(function module) in char relation ship for derivation,combination check and proposal defined the source char and target char and function module for Derivation,every thing working fine.But how can i call the function module once i entered the data in my planning layout.Just i need to validate my function module working fine or not???
How can i debug the function modules in BPS ,because we are using the exits in different places,please any one can explain each place how we can do the debug??Where we have to put the break points?? .
Just give the path i can try in my system BPS 4.0 version we are using.
Note:I know how to debug the function module only.but I don't know Using BPS screen's .

Reg MDM - BP "Consolidating Master Data" in Solution Manager

Hi,
In solution manager there are standard Business Process (BP) and Business Process Steps (BPS) defined for each BP under any functional area. Similarly when we look at the standard BP for MDM we have "Consolidating Master Data" as one of the BP. Under that we have a two BPS called 1. "Change or enrich records " - I understand that this BPS is referring adding or changing some field values in data manager. The second BPS is "Use external data quality services to cleanse and enrich data". - I understand this step should be the Validation rules that we run. Is my understanding correct? because the 2nd BPS say "external data quality service" - this is where am bit confused.

Hi Arumgam,
Validations belon to "Change or enrich records". "Use external data quality services to cleanse and enrich data" means that you can connect MDM to other third party services (e.g. for address data cleansing) using MDM's enrichment controller.

Default Pulldown value is not getting displayed on upper form of Second step of Unifier Workflow

Hi,
I'm new to Unifier and facing one issue while using the PullDown field on Upper. If I use the Pull down field with Default option selected in DataDefination on Upper form of Workflow's first step then it works fine, whereas if I use it on upper form of workflow's second step or any other step apart from first then it doesn't displayed. Please let me know how can i get the default value on upper form of any step.

I assume that you are referring to a brand new field on the second step that was not on the form of the first step. If this is the case, then you should put the field in a hidden block of the first steps form. Default values and Auto-population from shells/single record BPs only occur of the create step, even if they are not used on that step. As long as you put them on the create step (even in a hidden block) they should initialize.

SEM 4 to SEM 6 upgrade Steps.. Need immediately. Thanks

I searched a lot in SAP Forums and as weel as in SAP Service Portals but could not find any straight documentation available for doing an upgrade of SEM 4.0 version to SEM 6.0 version.
Apart from this I find few links that drives me to SAP Support Portal and there the links are not working.
Could any one specifically guide me through High End Summary Steps that need to be followed as part of SEM 4 Upgrade to SEM 6 keeping in view of both SEM BPS and SEM BCS functionalities.
Current system is on BW 3.5 hooked up with SEM 4.
if there are no straight documents that available atleast Please guide me through few crucial Checks I need to do before my BASIS Person do install Upgrade Software. Note that this is purely a Technical upgrade and my role eeds to be strictly to make sure that system should be running the way it is running currently after upgrade.

Hi,
I have no how to and no long list of experience doing this, but there are very important things you should be clear of before you upgrade:
1. Check
- which queries won't work after upgrade?
- are there any programmings reguarding consolidation (BW / BCS) ?- very important
- to be save: secure everything in files or make a syscopy or create a archiv-cube (maybe make use of multiprovider scenario)
- is COI running ? If you use COI, please beware of note 855382
- never forget, there will be changes in BW, the infoobjects may change - in case of using the standardobjects beware of activating those changes
2. Make the upgrade
3. check everything in detail after update
without engagement. =)

Hi,
T.code : UPSPM
1. Go to that t.code and create a planning folder . (tech name & description)
2. once you given the details then it will you take the next screen there you will find all your planning area , level , variable , layout and function.
3. In the Right hand side , you will find the planning folder under the planning folder you will find variable , global planning function and input layout.
4. Drag and drop your variable to Right hand side from the particular planning area which you want to make a planning folder.
5. then drag and drop the layout and function under the the planning area to Right hand side of input layout folder.
To execute the planning folder you can use t.code UPSPL.

Bi 7.0 for cube and master data steps

can u give me step by step comparision between bi 7.0 and bi 3.0 for cube ods and master data, ple explaing me what are the steps difference for those in bi 7.0 .

what abt master data, in master data we are using only transfer rules, here also we are using transformation and dtp again.
Yes we would be using transformations and DTP's on the masterdata too. but the system would prompt to make IO a infoprovider in order to use the new functionality. There is another work around for it, but we can discuss it later, orelse search the forum for that option, i have replied to couple of questions regarding that.
what abt reporting any things other than calculated kf restricted kf, filters rows columns, free chaststics, variables, any chnages in screen.
The basic functionality of all the above mentioned objects havent changes, and the query designer itself, there are hell a lot of changes in the appearance and it will take a while to get used to it and find your way with all the functionalities.
i have doubt bps menas businees planning simulation what is this, bec i have idea we can use transactional cube and transactional ods for write accress for planninmg also
BPS is something I have no clue abt... (you dont see me answering in Business planning forum)
