When I was simulating the 'eMail Response - Process Message', I had been getting the below error when entering to 'Create activity Process' step.(provided all the inputs per testmode.xml file)

I increased the log level to 5 and got the below message in log file

Oracle BI 11g: Error at the step - "Creating BI Server System Components"

I am attempting to install Oracle BI 11g on a Windows VM. The installation process completes successfully. However, the configuration process errors out at the step - Creating BI Server System Components. The last entry in the install log is as below:

The resource utilization seems to be normal. Netstat confirms that all of the above ports are free. Since there is no explicit error message in the log, we are unable to decipher the exact source for this error.
Virtual Machine details: Intel Xeon @ 2.67 GHz, Windows Server 2003 SP2, 4GB RAM, 50GB HDD, Static IP
Oracle BI Schema DB: MS SQL Server
Any inputs on this error will be greatly appreciated.

I recenty started instaling OBIEE 11g and got the same error : "Creating BI server system components". I read your solution and would like to know that if this patch is okay to install on a Windows VM (win server 2003 EE, SP2). If yes, after rebooting, do we reinstall ?
I am also getting the following errors:

Help !!! Homogeneous system copy hold on step: Create Database

Group,
we use homogeneous system copy to install PRD system. The system hold on step : create databse.
When we check the server and found the data library has been restored from tape. The installation just hold on the step and can't going on. And there is not additional information on install directory except to see the file keydb.xml were updated.
Could we adjust the file keydb.xml to continue the installation ? If we could, how ? Thanks in advance.

Hi Jenny,
The first question would be:
Is the database restored properly ?
How many objects are in there ?
First stop the SAPinst program so that no "duplicate updates" happen on the log/xml files.
Most likely you are doing this on another server and therefore the old users are not available which creates an error during restore. This causes often/always an abnormal end of the SAPinst.
If this is the case, you might want to check the keydb.xml after that you copied that and search for "ERROR" in uppercase and the finally try to set this to OK. If you then rerun SAPinst, this problem is hopefully solved. Unfortunately this is more or less an "standard-error" in this procedure - at least up to 1 year ago I don't know on any generic solution. That's why I do not use this procedure if not really necessary.

the installation process aborts in "Create sap license" with error message "library iamodora missing", some libraries needed are missing to work around this, either after it aborts or event before staritng the installation unpack the libraries into the installation directory using:
SAPCAR -xvf /<sapinst-CD>/SAPINST/UNIX/LINUX_32/SAPPROD.SAR
1. Copy the installation media dvd to a directory on a files system
2. change directories into the sub-directory which contains the executable (sapinst)
3. run the command sapinst -extract
4. It will unpack the missing libraries into the same directory where you executed the command..
5. copied these libraries to lib folder
6. Stop and restart the installation

Step create SPFILE ....*ORA-12560: TNS: protocol adapter error.*

Hi All,
by the installation of R/3 4.6C for a pilot system for the upgtrade from 4.6C to ECC 6.0 the installation hangs at step:
Create SPFILE: (this step creates the oracle server profile (SPFILE) from the up to now used PFILE (ini<SID>.ora). -
when I try to connect to DB via: connect /as sysdba I get the error message:
ORA-12560: TNS: protocol adapter error.
I know this oracle file can means many things and the R/3 is running fine. I copied the brtool from source system but it does not help. Until now there is no data from source. Its a new installation and we want to fix this error before we began to copy the data to the pilot system.
Anyone from you has a good feedback for me?

The funny thing is that in the previous steps when it created users and called RFC_SYSTEM_INFO, there was no problem. Only when it gets to this User.
Note that before the FJS-00003 error, the line before it in the trace file stated "RFC Connection closed." This is for one of the successful BAPI_USER_CREATE1 calls it had made.
Please help if you can...I want to desperately to complete the installation.

LiveCache Server Install stuck on step "Create database Schema"

Hi,
I am trying to install LiveCache Server 7.7 using MaxDB as the database on a Windows 2003 Server (64 bit). However, it seems to be stuck on the "Create database schema" step. This is the last step on the installation. We run it for 24 hours without the step completing. We retried several times but the same result. I have seen that this happened to somebody on a different forum but no solution was provided. Any help is appreciated.

You can download the newest policy files on the IBM Website. The file is named unrestricted.zip

Step by Step - Create Oracle Standby DB

Dear all,
 I am tring to create oracle Standby DB by brtools.
 The steps is :
 1. Mount Standby DB /oracle/QAS to Primary DB /oracle/QASCP
 2. Copy Primary DB
 On the Primary DB, use brtools-> 4.backup ... -> 3.Database Copy
 backup device type = disk_standby
 backup type = offline
 new_db_home = /oracle/QASCP (initQAS.sap)
 3. Open Standby DB at standby mode (i am not sure the following path is correct)
 On the Standby DB, user brtools-> 1.Startup... -> 1. Start up database
 Database startup to-state = standby
 4. On the Primary DB, use the following command to copy offline redolog files to Standby DB
 Mount Standby DB /oracle/QAS/oraarch to Primary DB /oracle/QAS/saparch
 archive_copy_dir = /oracle/QAS/saparch (initQAS.sap)
 brarchive -sd -d disk -f -w -u SYSTEM/password
 5. Apply Offline redolog
 On the Standby DB,
 brarchive -sd -d disk -f -m 10 -u system/password
 Now when Standby DB apply offline redolog file, the following errors occurs:
 ORA-01547: warning: RECOVER succeeded but OPEN RESETLOGS would get error below
 ORA-01152: file 1 was not restored from a sufficiently old backup
 ORA-01110: data file 1: '/oracle/QAS/sapdata1/system_1/system.data1'
 I also check the data file SCN on the control file and data file header, and i find that the data file SCN on the data file header is bigger than the SCN on the control file.
 How should i solve this problem? Or the creating step is wrong?
 Can anyone give advices?

Hi,
There are several links available on internet to create and manage standby db.
Just google for the same.
In short,
1. You need to take database backup of source system including redologs, datafiles, archivelogs.
2. Restore it on Target system.
3. Generate standby control file on source system.
SQL> Alter database create standby controlfile as "/path/to/new_controlfile/control.dbf";
4. Copy standby controlfile to target system.
5. start target database in mount mode
SQL> startup mount;
Check the status..

Loop step creating more than 1 workitem in PO release wf

Dear Experts,
I am using copy of std workflow ws20000075. I have three release codes (three approvers - L1, L2, L3). So i added a loop step in my workflow that is until bus2012.releaseindicator = 'R' the loop will iterate. Now problem is that for first level i am getting one workitem for his release. In L2 level i am getting 2 workitems for same PO. In L3 level i am getting 3 workitems in inbox for his release.   I have in tcode SWEL. There instead of single RELEASED event for BUS2012 there are 3 entries for a single approver level. This is SWEL output i get for L2 approver level.

Thanks a lot for your reply. I went to the following path Olme(Tcode) -> Goto Purchase order -> release procedure for purchase order -> define release procedure. There for three levels of release codes L1 - creator, L2 - Checker , L3 - approver.
I have given below settings in under each button.
Release Prerequisite : There are six checkbox. three on top right and three on bottom left. All three boxes in bottom left are checked.
Release Statuses: There are four rows with three check box in each row. First row no box is checked. Second row L1 is checked. Third row L1, L2 are checked. Fourth row L1,L2,L3 are checked. In input help for release indicator first three are set as B and last one is set as R.
Classification: When i click this i am getting message as Error in classification (class Z_RFQ class type 032).

Step by step Create a Desktop Administrator to have full and total control over desktops only

I have been trying to setup a Desktop Admin so that the group has full and total control over all desktops. I am using SCCM 2012 SP1. I have found very little documentation that explains in detail on how to set this up. I have read about role based access,
but found nothing that explains in detail how to setup an administrator that can do everything but only with desktop machines, not servers.

Great link John, thank you for that. I did follow the instructions to a "T", but the Desktop Admin is still having problems. He is trying to image a new machine (so it is not in the collection yet). When he tries to import it by using the "Import
Computer Information Wizard", he gets to the "Choose Target Collection" tab, selects the "Browse" button, but cannot see any collections. I have verified (using the instructions that Matthew provided - thank you) that he is a "Full Administrator" for
the Desktop collections and folders where they are located.
Could you please tell me what I am missing?
