can any one tell step by step for BPEL Deployment Plan as I am a new bibe.I have followed the following link but unable to find the flow
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12524_01/relnotes.1013/e12523/bpelrn.htm#BABDDDBE

Hi kevin,
Thanks for ur response as I am using Jdev and have build all those thing as per the url but after making the attachment of deployment plan with the jar file and deployed in the BPEL Enterprise Manager.I am not able to see the changes.So If you have an experience please give me a step by step procedure for deploying the development plan asap.

• Single-step deployment article from July/August Oracle Magazine Question

Hi,
As I worked through the article "Single-Step Deployment" on Oracle magazine July/August Issue,
I ran into a problem on substep 9 of Step 3 to
change the option of P2_MANAGER_ID with LOV.
The error I got is
LOV query is invalid, a display and a return value are needed, the column names need to be different. If your query contains an in-line query, the first FROM clause in the SQL statement must not belong to the in-line query.
Did anyone encounter same problem?
Any suggestion to deal with this error?
Thanks for any advice.

Hi,
Have you given your column names aliases?

• BPEL deployment plan in 10.1.3.4

Hello guys,
I've downloaded the MLR patch to upgrade to 10.1.3.4 and wondering where to find and how to use the BPEL deployment plan.
According to Robert Zimmerman's presentation titled Oracle BPEL Process Manager Update - April 22 (http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/soa/cab/oraclesoacab-webinar-04-22-08bpel_10_1_3_4_update.pdf), this release includes the new BPEL deployment plan, similar to the "old" ESB deployment plan.
Any help is appreciated.
Kind regards,
H

Hello Heidi,
Thanks for the quick reply.
That chapter is not quite what I was looking for, but nevertheless you pointed me to the right document. I was looking for chapter 3.10.10 "Automatically changing URLs and properties for Dev, Test and Prod.-environments".

• Steps to plan and save data in Workbook

Hi all,
Please provide me steps to Plan and save a data in a real time cube using workbook.
I have gone through different articles in SDN and tried to relicate but failed to save the data.
May be I am missing some thing, some steps. Please provide me with steps as giving links will not help me.
Thanks
Sunny

Hi,
You will have to follow the below steps to create a workbook which can save data in realtime cube.
1. First create Aggregation level(mandatory for input ready query which can save data) in Planning Modeler.
Aggregation level you will have to create on Reatime cube.
Transaction code for Planning modeler is RSPLAN.
2. After you have created aggregation level .
-> Create Query in Query Designer on the Aggregation level.
3. Make sure that you have made the setting for keyfigure as Input-ready.
Also make sure to make you have set the Query Property as 'Start Query in Change mode".
-> Then only query will be eligible for entering and saving the data on execution.
4. Now when you execute the query in Bex Analyser and save it as Workbook.
-> Data can only be entered and saved when the query open in input-ready mode.
5. The best way to check in Bex analyser whether query is input-ready or not is
-> In the query result layout , use Right lcik of Mouse -> then in the context menu
-> you should see the following two options apart from other options
Two options are:
1. Transfer plan values
2. Save values
If you get these two options then query is input ready and you can enter data and save it in realtime cube using the
Right mouse click -> Save values
6. If query is not coming as input-ready then it means that not all charateristics are drilled down
-> means that rows does not contains unique records.
In that case you will have to drilldown to make each rows contain unique records.
-> The best way is to restrict the characteristics with variable or single values in filter area.
-> this will give you drilldown data and so the query will come as input-ready.

• Error in Step Copy Plan version in Process Chain

Hi all,
We have step in Process Chain called 'Copy Plan version'.This stet is getting failed quite frequently. I just repeat it and the error is getting solved. I just wanted to know that is there any permanent solution for that. We cant afford to getting it failed that frequently.
I dont have any idea about this step. Can you please provide me information about this step and a possible remedy aw well.
The error messaage is :
Selection accesses data that is currently locked; user
Job cancelled after system exception ERROR_MESSAGE.
Please suggest.
Regards
sunny

This is due to "Selection accesses data that is currently locked; user" , there is another process from another process chain which locked the object at the same time frame , so due to that this step is failing
you can increase waittime 30mins(example)before this Step Copy Plan version executes in the process chain.
OR, change the schedule time for this process chain

• How to map a resource-ref in Jdev11 deployment plan editor

Hi all,
I have a ADF/BC web application where the BC4J application module does connect to a JNDI data source.
The ViewController project does declare the Datasource as needed resource in its web.xml:
<resource-ref>
<res-ref-name>jdbc/wlogDS</res-ref-name>
<res-type>javax.sql.DataSource</res-type>
<res-auth>Container</res-auth>
</resource-ref>
Now i need to map that resouurce-ref to an actual data source that exist in the application container at deploy time.
As already in JDev 10.1.3 the deployment-plan editor provided during deployment from JDeveloper does not provide any means to enter the deployment mapping for that resourc-ref (When clicking on the node (which is named resouce-ref - that becomes very confusing in case you have defined three resource-refs in your web.xml) the right pane shows a gray pane without any edit controls) So I cannot enter the resource-ref-mapping unsing the Jdev UI.
My workaround in 10.1.3 was to save the deployment plan to disk and manually edit it, adding
<resource-ref-mapping name="jdbc/wlogDS" location="jdbc/wlogTestEnvDS">
</resource-ref-mapping>
to the orion-web-app document for that webapp
But in Jdev 11 the deployment plan file format changed (including some binary inline checksums???)and when doing exactly the same thing, the loading of the manually edited file into Jdev Deployment plan editor fails with

So no chance here to add a resource-ref-mapping. The alternative way of specifying a resource-ref-mapping using the web-based deployment proces of the Enterprise manager is impossible because the 11g preview OC4j does not include an enterprise manger web-application.
So how do I deploy the application correctly other that manually modifying the deployed orion-web-app.xml file in j2ee/home/application-deployments/earName/warName/orion-web-app.xml after deploying the app without a resource-ref-mapping? Because doing that step manually each time is quite annoying.
Greetings,
Thomas

Seems i'm slowly answering my own questions :-) I finally got my RMI service, even using several methods. But ...
It doesnt help me as the lookups are not done on the context classloader it seems. That means i need to add all my service jars to the global class path causing massive sealing issues with the war contained jars. Pretty useless. All the needed stubs etc are in the war.
But as it seems that the web app needs to contain deployment site info (sun-web.xml) anyway, i could just as easy read my own web xml from the context and resolve the services myself. But i do wonder how this is supposed to work with EJB and CORBA stuff. The samples actually also needed to add stuff to the global class path.
I'm probably not the easiest customer as i write this kind of middle ware for a living but i really like sjsws. It makes my own one partly obsolete as it is almost as fast and has all the fancy deployment stuff (in my case i use an in-house mobile agent frame work and agents that travel the various networks ) and infinitely easier to learn to work with and understand In case anyone is wondering i wrote Uhura because 1. i needed speed so it is a servlet based webserver and not a web server with a servlet module. 2. could not wait on ibm to fix bugs in webspere and we only used the servlet bit. 2. i needed full J2EE security and 3. i needed it to run on many OS'es
That is why i still need the same war files to be able to be deployed in both systems as i still need my systems going on IBM iservers etc.
Again i would welcome some feed back on such and related issues
Cheers,
Peter

• How to deploy WebService and BPEL to Application Server in EBS R12?

hi all,
I have R12 EBS on linux machine.
Can i deploy WebService/BPEL to Application Server of EBS?
or i must install new application server to deploy WebService and BPEL ?
Thanks
Benny

Hi,
You can find many articles on oracle site for this subject.
However in brief following are the steps
1) Create a directory source,executables,images,reports and logfiles.
2) Copy all your forms, menus and pll's in source directory
3) All your images in your image directory
4) All your reports in reports directory
5) All yuor fmx,mmx and plx in executables directory
6) Any log files in logfiles directory
7) Add path of images and executables directory in FORMS_PATH in default.env
8) Configure your formsweb.cfg as your need.
9) Configure report.conf and rwservlet.properties according to your applications.
10) Make jar of icons say myicons.jar.
11) copy myicons.jar in forms/java directory
12) Check yuor form services if they are running or not.
13) Invoke the URL in internet explorer
http://<ip_address>:<port_no>/forms/frmservlet?form=testform.fmx
I think that's enough from my side.. For more info you can go through the documentation.

• Deployment plan to update web.xml

Hello,
Is it possible to use a deployement plan to update the web.xml file of an war inside an ear ?
I would like to map a servlet on a new URI using a new workmanager by configuration (I mean once my application is built) I suppose it is possible to use the deployment plan to add a section inside the web.xml.
For example, I would like to add the folowing section :
<servlet>
<servlet-name>DummyServlet</servlet-name>
<servlet-class>com.company.servlets.DummyServlet</servlet-class>
<init-param>
<param-name>wl-dispatch-policy</param-name>
<param-value>DummyWorkManager</param-value>
</init-param>
</servlet>
<servlet-mapping>
<servlet-name>DummyServlet</servlet-name>
<url-pattern>/myDummyServlet</url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>
Thank you for helping me on this point
Best Regards,
C.

To my knowledge you can not add elements to your deployment descriptors, but you can change them, for example
say we have the following ejb-jar.xml
<ejb-jar ...>
<enterprise-beans>
<session>
<ejb-name>Bedrijf</ejb-name>
<env-entry>
<env-entry-name>something</env-entry-name>
<env-entry-type>java.lang.String</env-entry-type>
<env-entry-value>iets</env-entry-value>
</env-entry>
</session>
</enterprise-beans>
</ejb-jar>and we want to change the value of something. Now we can generate a plan.xml (for example by using weblogic.Plangenerator
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13222_01/wls/docs90/deployment/wlplangenerator.html). When we do this for an EAR
file we get something like the following:

• Deployment plan cookie-name not applying

I have a ear containing multiple wars. The EAR has a weblogic-application.xml containing:

<weblogic-application xmlns="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/90" xmlns:j2ee="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/90 http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/920/weblogic-application.xsd">

<param-value>UTF-8</param-value>
</application-param>
<session-descriptor id="ID000193">
<cookie-name>ZSESSIONID</cookie-name>
<timeout-secs>900</timeout-secs>
<id-length>14</id-length>
<sharing-enabled>true</sharing-enabled>
<url-rewriting-enabled>false</url-rewriting-enabled>
</session-descriptor>
</weblogic-application>
That is the only place the cookie-name ZSESSIONID is mentioned in any config file in the ear.
I have a deployment plan that has in part:
<deployment-plan xmlns="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/90" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/90 http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/90/weblogic-deployment-plan.xsd" global

The change is not having any effect. I know that the plan is being applied since I see "References were found in deployment plan for module ..." in my startup and if I intentionally syntax error the file it fails to launch. This is Weblogic 10.0 MP1 / java 1.5. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this or what might cause it?

• How to store deployment plans to custom directory?

Hi All ,
I am deploying Jmsadapter.rar to weblogic 10.3.6 (admin)server which contains 2 managed servers.
Below is the command
java weblogic.Deployer -adminurl t3://${admin host}:${admin port} -remote -verbose -username ${user} -password ${password} -name JmsAdapter.rar -redeploy -upload -plan JmsAdapter_Plan.xml
The deployment plan JmsAdapter_Plan.xml is saved under domin home folder /appl/webuser/domains/DEV_Domain/JmsAdapter_Plan.xml.
Instead I want the deployment plan JmsAdapter_Plan.xml to be stored under a custom folder "jmsplan".. for example /appl/webuser/domains/DEV_Domain/jmsplan/JmsAdapter_Plan.xml
Can anyone let me know the steps to instruct the server to store the plain in certain directory?
Basically my idea is to have separate directory(jmsplan,adplam) for each plan types like JmsAdapter_Plan.xml and DBAdapter_Plan.xml?
Thanks in advance
Thanks,
Bob

You can refer the same post
makeDeploymentPlanVariable(myPlanJms, 'ConfigProperty_eis/JMS_JNDIName_ConnectionFactory_Name_13102979357210', JMSConnectionfactory,'/weblogic-connector/outbound-resource-adapter/connection-definition-group/[connection-factory-interface="oracle.tip.adapter.jms.IJmsConnectionFactory"]/connection-instance/[jndi-name="'+JMSJNDIName+'"]/connection-properties/properties/property/[name="ConnectionFactoryLocation"]/value',moduleOverrideNameJms)
using this you can create the variables and the assignment in the plan file.

• Orchestrating a reboot as part of larger deployment plan

So i'm putting together my small building blocks to make a functional "Install Server" plan.
However i've hit a stumbling block. I need to perform a reboot and then perform a "Software Installation Profile".
However there is a reboot configured in Ops Center, but it is a "Software Update Profile" and in the "Install Server" plans, Update software comes AFTER Install Software.
I need to have the ability to put Install Software (pkg/RPM deployment) after Update Software (system defined reboot profile), However I cannot find I a way to change the order of things for my Deployment Plan.
Has anyone got any pointers on how to shuffle the Profiles around, or leverage the "Execute Pre-Install" Steps to initiate a reboot prior to the Install Software kicks in?

Hi,
place the pdf file into a folder which is marked as a source folder in your jdeveloper project. When you take a look at the properties of your deployment file you see some FileGroups. Each FileGroup corresponds to a target path inside the deployment archive. Now WEB-INF/classes should already picked up your pdf file. Take a look at the filters entry under WEB-INF/classes.

• AIA FP 11.1.1.3 - Deployment Plan Generation for migrating from Dev to Test

Hi All,
Can you please validate the following from a Deployment from Dev to Test perspective. We have almost completed the development for an interface using AIA 11g, and are in the process of moving the interface from one instnace to another, and any help is highly appreciated.
Let us the take Purchase Order Integration between a legacy application and Oracle Purchasing, File Adapter-> Requester ABCS -> EBS -> Provider ABCS -> DB Adapter, which is a classical flow.
1. The Functional person defines a project in the Project Life Cycle Workbench
2. Functional decomposition done through Purchase Prder Business Task, and Service Solution components for each composite in the classical flow
3. The ABCSs are created by linking the corresponding Service Solution Components from the LCW using Service Contructor. These composite.xmls will have the annotation populated by the Service Constructor. It is okay for these composites to have concrete wsdls during development phase, but the concreate ones have to be replaced with abstract ones before geenrating deployment plans.
4. The EBS is not changed, it will have the annotations prepopulated, and there is no need to add any annoations to them
5. The File Adapter and DB Adapters (Transport Adapters?) have to be annotated based on the developer guide
6. The xsds and wsdl go into the mds based using the scripts provided. Any other common components can also be placed into MDS.
7. Once the development is done, Harvest the composites using the AIA Harvester.
8. After harvesting, from the AIA LCW, Generate the BOM. If we harvest all the 5 composites for the Business Task together, and do Generate BOM, does it capture all the composites? Or do they capture only the composites created using the Service Constructor? Or we have to add all the compistes manually to the Business Task?
9. Add Harvested Contents by Editing the BOM -> "Search and Add Existing Composite" option. We couldnt locate the "Add Harvested Composite" option while right clicking the Business Task.
10. Once all the harvested composites have been added to the BOM, export as XML
11. Using the BOM, generate the DeploymentPlan. The deployment plan will have references to the xsds and wsdls in the MDS
12. Using the Deployment Plan and AID, deploy the composites into a new instanec.
These are the questions I have,
1. Is the above understanding correct?
2. Since the MDS is in the Dev database, a pre-requisite for AID seems to be deployment of xsds and wsdls into the Test MDS schema. Can you please validate?
3. What happens to the bpels, xsls, mplans etc? How do they move from one instance to another?
Regards,
Anish

Hi Anish,
Following are the responses -
These are the questions I have,
1. Is the above understanding correct?
1. The Functional person defines a project in the Project Life Cycle Workbench - Yes
2. Functional decomposition done through Purchase Prder Business Task, and Service Solution components for each composite in the classical flow - Yes
3. The ABCSs are created by linking the corresponding Service Solution Components from the PLWB using Service Contructor. These composite.xmls will have the annotation populated by the Service Constructor. It is okay for these composites to have concrete wsdls during development phase, but the concreate ones have to be replaced with abstract ones before geenrating deployment plans.-Yes but location attribute in binding.ws section of composite.xml should always have concrete WSDL location.Use <replaceToken> in DeploymentPlan to replace the ip and port.
4. The EBS is not changed, it will have the annotations prepopulated, and there is no need to add any annoations to them - Yes
5. The File Adapter and DB Adapters (Transport Adapters?) have to be annotated based on the developer guide-Yes
6. The xsds and wsdl go into the mds based using the scripts provided. Any other common components can also be placed into MDS.- Yes
7. Once the development is done, Harvest the composites using the AIA Harvester.-Yes
8. After harvesting, from the AIA PLWB, Generate the BOM. If we harvest all the 5 composites for the Business Task together, and do Generate BOM, does it capture all the composites? Or do they capture only the composites created using the Service Constructor? Or we have to add all the compistes manually to the Business Task?-The 5 composites created by you should have a corresponding service solution component defined.When you define a service solution component in PLWB then a GUID is generated in the database table.You need to retrieve that value and manually enter in the annotation section of composite.xml except for ABCS.Then only the BOM will contain information on all the composites.
9. Add Harvested Contents by Editing the BOM -> "Search and Add Existing Composite" option. We couldnt locate the "Add Harvested Composite" option while right clicking the Business Task.*-Once you harvest it will be visible.*
10. Once all the harvested composites have been added to the BOM, export as XML - Yes
11. Using the BOM, generate the DeploymentPlan. The deployment plan will have references to the xsds and wsdls in the MDS - Yes
12. Using the Deployment Plan and AID, deploy the composites into a new instance.-Yes
2. Since the MDS is in the Dev database, a pre-requisite for AID seems to be deployment of xsds and wsdls into the Test MDS schema. Can you please validate?
Yes the 'UpdateMetaData' section under 'Configurations' in the DeploymentPlan will upload XSDs, WSDLs, DVM,Xrefs into MDS.
3. What happens to the bpels, xsls, mplans etc? How do they move from one instance to another?
The 'Deployments' section will deploy the project into server and write the information into MDS.

• How do I change the context-root of a web app with a deployment plan?

I've been trying to figure this out for several hours.
I'm deploying a .ear file which sets the context root for the single web application it deploys in its application.xml deployment descriptor:
<application>
<display-name>MyApp</display-name>
<module>
<web>
<web-uri>MyAppViewControler.war</web-uri>
<context-root>MyApp</context-root>
</web>
</module>
</application>
I want to change the context-root from /MyApp to something else when deploying the ear file. It seemed to me that using a deployment plan was the way to do this. But when I use this plan:
<deployment-plan>
<application-name>MyApp<application-name>
<variable-definition>
<variable>

<value>foobar</value>
</variable>
</variable-definition>
<module-override>
<module-name>MyApp</module-name>
<module-type>ear</module-type>
<module-descriptor external="false">
<root-element>application</root-element>

<variable-assignment>

<xpath>/application/module/web/context-root</xpath>
</variable-assignment>
</module-descriptor>
</module-override>
</deployment-plan>
I get an error:
weblogic.descriptor.DescriptorException: VALIDATION PROBLEMS WERE FOUND
/bea/user_projects/domains/devod1/nullplan.xml:0: problem: cvc-complex-type.2.4a: Expected element 'web-uri@http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee' instead of 'context-root@http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee' here in element web@http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee:<nullplan.xml>
I looked at http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs103/pdf/deployment.pdf which says:
"You cannot use a deployment plan to change the context-root in an application.xml
file. However, if an application is deployed as a library, you can either change the
context-root through an weblogic-application.xml file or use the deployment plan
to change the context-root in an weblogic-application.xml file."
I don't understand what this means. I'm not deploying my application as a library.
Does anyone know how to change the context-root for an application?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi James,
I am quite new to Welogic if i am wrong please correct me.I have re-deployed my application (.war) with this Plan.xml
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
<deployment-plan xmlns="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/deployment-plan" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/deployment-plan http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/deployment-plan/1.0/deployment-plan.xsd" global-variables="false">
<application-name>BrowserR08.003</application-name>
*<variable-definition>*
* <variable>*
* <name>CONTEXTROOT</name>*
* <value>BrowserWeb/servlet/BrowserServlet</value>*
* </variable>*
* </variable-definition>*
<module-override>
<module-name>BrowserWeb.war</module-name>
<module-type>war</module-type>
<module-descriptor external="true">
<root-element>weblogic-web-app</root-element>
<uri>WEB-INF/weblogic.xml</uri>
<hash-code>1231953167814</hash-code>
*<variable-assignment>*
* <name>CONTEXTROOT</name>*
* <xpath>/weblogic-web-app/context-root</xpath>*
* <operation>add</operation>*
* </variable-assignment>*
</module-descriptor>
<module-descriptor external="false">
<root-element>web-app</root-element>
<uri>WEB-INF/web.xml</uri>
</module-descriptor>
<module-descriptor external="true">
<root-element>wldf-resource</root-element>
<uri>META-INF/weblogic-diagnostics.xml</uri>
</module-descriptor>
</module-override>
<config-root>/export/home1/tecapp/BrowserR08.003/plan</config-root>
</deployment-plan>
I do not know wether i will require the other module descriptor definition in this Plzn.xml. Now when I go to following link.
Deployments --> MyApp --> Testing
It gives me following url as a test page:
http://localhost:7001/BrowserWeb/servlet/BrowserServlet
as soon as i click on to the above link it redirects me to following.
http://localhost:7001/BrowserWeb/servlet/BrowserServlet/servlet/BrowserServlet
Same if i remove these context-root part my normal Testing menu shows me following link as my webapp access path
http://localhost:7001/BrowserWeb <-- My war file name is BrowserWeb.war so it is default name of my deployed application if i am not wrong
and as soon as i click on above link it redirects me to the following one.
http://localhost:7001/BrowserWeb/servlet/BrowserServlet
It means application server know that my full web access page is with '*servlet/BrowserServlet*' because its adding it in both the cases.
What I want is a constant URL whcih does not change?
Hope this helps :)

• Replacing web.xml values with a deployment plan. Not working on WL 10.3.2

Hi All-
I am trying to replace a value from web.xml with one in a weblogic deployment plan. I deployed the application on WL 10.3.2 and used the deployment plan below. No matter what I do it doesn't seem to want to take the value.
web.xml:

<web-app>
<context-param>
<param-name>TokenGroup</param-name>
<param-value>oldvalue</param-value>
</context-param>
</web-app>
Deployment Plan:

<deployment-plan xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/weblogic/deployment-plan"
xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
xsi:schemaLocation="http://xmlns.oracle.com/weblogic/deployment-plan http://xmlns.oracle.com/weblogic/deployment-plan/1.0/deployment-plan.xsd"
global-variables="false">
<application-name>APPName</application-name>
<variable-definition>
<variable>

<value>Key123456</value>
</variable>
</variable-definition>
<module-override>
<module-name>APPName.war</module-name>
<module-type>war</module-type>
<module-descriptor external="false">
<root-element>web-app</root-element>

<variable-assignment>

<xpath>/web-app/context-param/[param-name="TokenGroup"]/param-value</xpath>
<operation>replace</operation>
</variable-assignment>
</module-descriptor>
</module-override>
</deployment-plan>
I've also tried other formats for the xpath such as:
/web-app/context-param/{param-name="TokenGroup"}/param-value
/web-app/context-param[param-name="TokenGroup"]/param-value
Any ideas why this doesnt work?
Thanks,
Joe

It works for me... I think your "web.xml" is causing the issue.
Try replacing

Hope this helps.
