Hi All:
Did you happen to read this:

DO NOT request such material nor distribute such material on SDN, and for your own good I would not recommend you do it anywhere else either."

Step Guide to learn BW 7.0
Hello,
I have Henry Fu's book "Step by Step guide to SAP BW". But it totally speaks in terms of BW 3.x
I wanted a similar book which tells about BW 7.0. The UI is pretty much different in 3.x and 7.0 and thats why I am facing problems in learning from Henry Fu's book.
Can anyone suggest me a good book for BW 7.0
Thanks n Regards,
AbhishekHai Abhishek,
if you are a new learner, i would suggest learning 3x first. BW 7.0 actually called <b>NetWeaver 2004s </b> is pretty new and even SAP hasn't released all the documentation. I agree that there are many changes in the new version but there no books as of now to explain that detail. I would suggest understanding the 3x and then when the documentation is out, u can adopt to NW2004s.
Good luck. -

2. Create the logical systems and assign clients to logical system in SALE transaction both on CRM and R/3.
3. Create a user in the R/3 table CRMCONSUM with the name CRM.
4. Maintain the Middlware Parameter tables on CRM : Table SMOFPARSFA:
Create an entry for following parameter entry:
Key - R3A_COMMON
Para name - CRM_DEFAULT_DESTINATION
Value - R/3 logical system
5. Maintain the parameter tables on R/3 system : CRMRFCPAR, CRMPAROLTP
CRMRFCPAR :
Create new entry with following data:

Object name - *
RFC Destination - RFC destination for CRM
Load types - All Load Types
In Queue flag - X
Send XML No XML
CRMPAROLTP :
Create the following parameter entry:

RajHi Aaron,
I don't know your scenario and your ECC and PI versions but I learned how to use ABAP Proxy more than 1 year ago with the following tutorial:
Edit--> The forum doesn't allow me to post external link, just search "ABAP Proxy Communication Scenario" in google and visit the 1st result
The way to develop ABAP Proxys has changed a little if your PI is 7.1. In the ECC side, the transaction SPROXY looks much better too if you have a recent version of the ECC.

I've found that SDN Document. Maybe the scenario is not the most simple to start with ABAP Proxy but is very well documented and is for PI 7.1. The document also handles the inbound and outbound proxys

Could any one point me to any good resource for testing an ABAP web service? What are the pre-requisites I have to check to test a web service?
It would be great if anyone could point me to a step-by-step guide for ABAP web service testing in SAP version 7.0.
( As I am not a developer and new to this web service area. I do not need to develop a web service but i would like to know the steps we follow when we test a existing or custom developed web service in our systems)

Is there a full step by step guide for using MDM for data consolidation/harmonisation?
So far There are reference guides, which shows you each component of the various MDM applications but nothing that gives a full start to end scenario.
For example If I have Master data source from few different sources (tables), How can I compare the (records) values from the 3 sources and produce one output file by using MDM?Hello Ray:
That greatly depends on which scenario we are talking about. Let's say we use <b>Employees</b>, so you can compare and de-duplicate using MDM Import Manager and the employee's security number for instance.
In other scenarios, this relationship might not be that transparent. It comes to my mind the case of <b>Materials</b>, where each material has its own ID, and you don't even know if they are dups, because the Material ID was autogenerated by the legacy system.
In this case, a common approach would be to divide all the materials into smaller groups, let's say, all the Office Supplies, then the Raw Materials, and so on.... Later, people with business knowledge of these materials can look up them and check for inconsistencies/duplicates.
Manual searching and consolidation might not be very appealing, but remember that this is sometimes the only way. However, after the technical guys manage to group the 100,000 materials into let's say 100 big categories, then the division can be further analized by 100 guys, each with 1000 records. This helps to make the transition faster and way more accurate.
Anyway, you can find some how-to's on http://service.sap.com/nw-howtoguides -> Master Data Management
Alternativly you can visit SAP RKT's or e-learning here on SDN.
I hope that helps
Kind Regards
