Step by Step guide to transfer movies to iPod - using PC

I am looking for a step by step guide to transfer movies to my iPod... i have a PC and need to transfer DVD movies to my iPod. i know that there is a process, somewhat tedious, but i cannot find instructions anywhere on the steps to do it. i purchased quicktime pro and i know that i need to decrypt the DVD (??) and rip (??) the files to my harddrive, then convert the .vob files to .m4v using something like Videora (??). I just am not sure about the actual steps. Please help!!!

Trying to help. I think you will find that any answer that gives directions here on Apple <might> be a contravention to agreements regarding licensing abp from Apple therefore your directions (and efforts) would best be spent on 'another search engine' for an answer to that question. Note that I am simply respecting Apple's position and the fact that movies are not free to rip or copy them for any reason outside of licensing agreements.

  • Can't transfer movie to iPod

I got a digital download with a Bluray purchase and (regrettably) decided to download it through itunes. I thought it would then be an easy transfer to my iPod Classic. This was not the case, however. When I try to transfer it, a pop says "'Movie' was not copied to the ipod ('my ipod') because it cannot be played on this ipod."
I've seen some people say that the "Create a new version" has worked for them, but when I go there, all the options are greyed out.
    Please, can anyone help?
    Thank you!

    Hello, LaylaSparrow.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I understand that you received a Digital Copy when you purchased a Blu-ray movie and are running into an issue syncing to your iPod Classic.  I am curious if you are going straight to the Create an iPod version option or are you selecting the movie and then selecting the Create an iPod version?  The attached article below may help walk you through this process.

  • Transfer Movies from iPod to PC

Ok, so my PC recently crashed, all my movies and songs going down with it. I had about 2000 songs and about 50 movies. All of the songs and movies are on my iPod right now, but how can i get them back on my PC in case my iPod Classic crashes?
    Thanks

If they were bought from Apple then with the iPod connected to your computer's iTunes you should be able to do File > Transfer Purchases to copy them over. If they were not bought from Apple then have you not got a backup copy ? If not then you could try searching for a third-party program to copy them off

  • How to transfer movie to ipod classic? Other questions too

I have been using an ipod mini for ages, just gave it to my daughter and bought a 80gb ipod classic. When I set up sync movies, does it copy every movie from my movie folder to my ipod? It doesn't seem to work even I set it up properly. Can I copy movie manually? I have copied 2gb of music last night, this morning I plug my ipod to sync the address book, eject properly, the songs are gone! Photos are still there though. Do these ipods come in window format? In itune it shows window format, it makes me wonder, I only connect ipod to my macbook pro. Thanks!

When I set up sync movies, does it copy every movie from my movie folder to my ipod?
Not if you choose to sync selected movies. There should be options for you when you choose to auto sync movies.
Do these ipods come in window format?
Yes. For quite a while now all new iPods come Windows formatted out of the box.

  • How to transfer movie into IPOD?

    I really confused

iTunes won't convert rmvb format to mp4. For Mac, you may try this http://mac.hk/appletalk/viewtopic.php?t=29157 Well, the site is in chinese, but all you need to do is to follow the link and download the app. If you use PC, try this.

  • Is there a step by step guide to transfer licences?

I have a PC that has started having the following message: 'windows detected a hard disk problem. ‘Back up your files immediately to prevent information loss and then contact the computer manufacture to determine if you need to repair or replace the disk.' It is highly likely I will need a new hard disk and if it is sent to the manufacturer it will need to be re set to factory condition. I believe I may lose some registry settings etc.
Since buying the PC I have purchased Adobe Design Premium so if I do end up with a new hard disk or even a new PC - how do I ensure I can transfer the software without any license implications? Some threads have contradictory info about deactivating or not deactivating first - I'd really appreciate a simple step by step guide - would be good if Adobe could issue an authorised one too!
    Many thanks in anticipation

Help --> Deactivate in any of the suite apps, then simply instal lthe software on teh new machine. if the activation doesn't work, call support to reset it server side. Nothing more required.

  • Step by step guide to create a RFC connection and data transfer

    hi
could i get a step by step guide to transfer/read data from SAP and legacy system using the concept of RFC.
    Regards
    Shiva

    hi
    Here are the steps.
SM59 Transaction is used for Connection Establishment with Destination.
When you establish a connection to a client through a destination, the HTTP connection must first be entered in transaction SM59.
There are two types of HTTP connection in transaction SM59: Call transaction SM59 to display the different RFC destinations.
The HTTP connection to the external server (connection type G) and the HTTP connection to the R/3 system (connection type H) are different only in their logon procedures. Their technical settings are the same. To display the technical settings, double-click a connection.
You can choose from three tabs. Under Technical Settings, you can specify the following:
    · Target Host: The host to which you want to connect.
Note that if you are using HTTPS as a protocol, you have to specify the full host name (with domain).
    · Service No.: Here, you specify the port. The destination host must of course be configured in such a way that the specified port “understands” the corresponding protocol (HTTP or HTTPS). See Parameterizing the ICM and the ICM Server Cache.
    · Path Prefix: At the time when the connection to this destination is initiated, the system inserts this sub-path before ~request_uri.
    · HTTP Proxy Options: Here, you can configure a proxy for HTTP connections: You can determine the proxy host and service, as well as users and passwords for the HTTP connection.
The tab page Logon/Security will be different depending on whether you have selected a HTTP connection to an external server (connection type G) or a HTTP connection to an R/3 system (connection type H).
HTTP Connection to an External Server (Connection Type G)
Choose the connection you want to use. You can choose from the following logon procedures:
    · No Logon: The server program does not request a user or password.
    · Basic Authentication: The server program requests a user and password. Basic Authentication is a standard HTTP method for authenticating users. When a user logs on to the target system, he or she provides a user ID and password as authentication. This information is then sent in a header variable as a Base 64-encoded string to the server, through the HTTP connection.
    · SSL Client Certificate: If you use client certificates for authentication, the client authentication is performed through the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol. In this case, you must also select the SSL Client PSE of the SAP Web AS that contains the relevant certificate for the authentication. The target system must handle the issuer of the SAP Web AS client certificate as a trusted system.
Under Logon/Security, you can also activate SSL to ensure that HTTPS is the protocol used (if you select SSL, make sure that the correct port is entered under Technical Settings). In the security transaction STRUST you can determine which type of SSL client is used. (Getting Started with the Trust Manager, Trust Manager).
The field Authorization for Destination has been implemented as an additional level of protection. We recommend that you specify a user and password for the RFC destination.
HTTP Connection to an R/3 System (Connection Type H)
Here, you can specify more settings for authentication in the target system.
The settings under Technical Settings and Special Options are the same as for connection type G. Under Logon/Security, the connection type H has additional logon procedures. As with external servers, you can activate and deactivate SSL and specify an authorization.
Because the target system is an SAP system, you can set the client and language for the logon as well as the user name and password. If you check Current User, you have to specify the password.
The following authentication procedures are available: Basic Authentication, SAP Standard, and SAP Trusted System, and SSL Client Certificate.
    · HTTP Basic Authentication: Logon with user and password
    · SAP Standard: This procedure uses an RFC logon procedure. The RFC Single Sign-On (SSO) procedure is valid within the one system. The same SAP user (client, language, and user name) is used for logon.
    · SAP Trusted System: Trusted RFC logon to a different SAP system (see Trusted System: Maintaining Trust Relationships Between SAP Systems)).
    · SSL Client Certificate: The SSL protocol enables you to use client certificates for the logon.
    Type G/H (SM59)
    Timeout:
When sending a HTTP request, you can use this parameter to specify the maximum response time for the connection.
    HTTP Setting:
You can use the HTTP version to specify the protocol version of the HTTP request (HTTP 1.0 or 1.1).
    Compression:
You can use this option to activate the gzip compression for the request body. This can only be activated in HTTP Version 1.1.
    Compressed Response:
In the standard setting, the SAP Web Application Server sends the Accept Encoding field as a header field with the value gzip, if the application server can handle this compression. This notifies the partner that the caller can handle gzip decompression, and that the partner can send compressed data. If you want to prevent a compressed response being sent, choose the option No.
    HTTP Cookie:
You can use this option to control the way received cookies are handled.
You can specify the following for cookies:
    · Accept them automatically
    · Reject them automatically
    · Accept or reject them in a prompt
    · Use a handler for the event IF_HTTP_CLIENT~EVENTKIND_HANDLE_COOKIE to process the cookies in the program.
    · In the next section, you can read about the parallelization of requests.
    Thanks,

  • I want to update my IPad's operating system but when I tried to so,  I got a message at Itunes advising all my apps would be removed?  Is there a step by step guide for doing this update and retaining my apps?  I am completely lost....

I want to update my 1st generation IPad which has a current OS of 4.2.1 to the latest 5.0 OS.  I tried to do this through my ITunes account but got a warning that continuing would delete my apps, etc.  I don't want that to happen!  I have ZERO tech ability/know-how and need an idiot-proof, step by step guide to performing the update.  Any help most appreciated.  I haven't got a clue how to back up anything on the IPad, either.
    Many thanks!!

First copy any purchases off the iPad to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases. You should also backup the device (right-click the iPad 'device' and select 'back up'), and copy off any important documents, files, notes etc (e.g. by email, the file sharing section at the bottom of the Apps tab on your computer's iTunes, via wifi, whatever the apps that you use support) - the update process should backup and restore the content but it's best to be safe.

  • Operating system reload step-by-step guide

It's that time again, time to wipe and reload the OS hard drive. Too many bugs - Safari crashing for no apparent reason, system locking up instead of sleeping, general running slow, etc.
What I need is a step-by-step guide to backing up current data so that I can restore the system once I'm done reloading. Anyone have such a beast?
One side comment: I have a second hard drive partitioned into 3 sections. My music and most of my data files reside on it. There are a few data files I need to move to it when I back up.
Also, my primary drive is partitioned with OS 9 and OS X on each partition. I don't plan on reinstalling OS 9. I'm just going to reformat the OS X partition.
Thanks for any help you can give.

    Backing Up
Get an external Firewire drive with sufficient space to store the entire size of your hard drive. Whether you use a separate drive or partition of a drive do the following:
    1. Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
    2. Select the startup volume from the left side list.
    3. Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
    4. Drag the startup volume to the Source entry field.
    5. Select the backup volume from the leftside list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
    6. Check the box to Erase Destination.
    7. Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Next, test the clone by booting from it. Restart the computer and immediately after the chime press and hold the OPTION key down until the boot manager screen appears. You should see an icon for the external drive's backup partition or the drive itself. Select it and then click on the large right arrow button. If this does not work then restart the computer. After restart open System Preferences and choose Startup Disk. Select the clone partition from the icon list, then click on the Restart button.
    Last, install OS X.
For more on backup and restore see: How to Backup and Restore. Also, visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on Backup and restore.

  • Step by step guide

Does anyone know if you can produce a step by step by step
guide in captivate? Eg can I link the Microsoft step by step help
file to a captivate movie? I would like to be able to press a "show
me" button at the bottom of the step by step guide and captivate
    demonstrates the action?
Any help would be very welcome.

I'm unsure what you are referring to by "... Microsoft step
by step help file ..." but if you mean MS HTML Help ("RoboHelp"
outputs HTML Help) like Captivate's own Help system, that is
exactly what Captivate is designed to do best.
Which leads me to believe that so far, you haven't had the
opportunity to actually try Captivate, or look at any of the
tutorial movies?? I advise you download the free trial and see for
    yourself.
This link takes you to a
page of available Adobe products for sale or download.
    Hope this helps!

  • Need Step By Step Guide For Data Archiving

Can anybody provide me step by step Data Archiving guide for ECC 6.0 system.
I searched OSS but did not get any guide.
    Thanks

    Hi
You can go through the below links related to archiving which transactions we use for archiving the objects and how we do that.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_srm30/helpdata/en/15/c9df3b6ac34b44e10000000a114084/content.htm
    http://help.sap.com/SAPHELP_NW04S/helpdata/EN/43/f0ed9f81917063e10000000a1553f6/content.htm
Basically Data archiving process comprises three major phases. They are:
    1. Creating an archive file: The archived files of data are created in the SAP database by the Archiving Management system. The Management system reads the data from the database and writes it to the archive files in the background. In instances of archived files exceeding the maximum specified limit, or if the number of data objects exceed the stipulated limit in the system, then the system automatically creates new archive files.
At the end of the process of saving data into archive files, ADK triggers the system event SAP_ARCHIVING_WRITE_FINISHED, which is an indicator to the system to start next phase of archiving process.
    2. Removing the archived data from the database:
While archiving management system writes data on the archive files, another program deletes it from the database permanently. The program checks whether the data has been transferred to the archive. It is quite important too as it is the last check performed by the system before deleting data permanently from the database. Several deletion programs run simultaneously, because the archiving program is much more faster than the deletion programs. This is important as it increases the efficiency of archiving process.
    3. Transferring the archived files to a location outside the SAP database
Once the Archive management system has finished archiving the data, the next step is to save the archived files at a different location other than the SAP database. This can be accomplished by an automated process in the system or by a manual process. This step is optional since many enterprises may wish to keep the archived files within the current database. However, large enterprises transfer their data periodically as a part of their data archiving processes.
    Hope this helps!!
    Thanks and Kind Regards
    Esha

  • Step by Step Guide Details for RFC to File and File to RFC scenario

    Hi Guru's
Good day to you. I am tyring to develop some scenarios based on RFC adaptor. so i want to start up with basic scenarios like RFC to File  scenario(Here i just want to pull some data from SAP using RFC and put it in destination folder as an text file) and FILE to RFC scenario (Here i just want to take some data from the file and update into SAP).
For doing these scenarios i would like to request you people to send me the step by step guide which explains me about the complete steps of configurations required to do the RFC to FILE scenario and FILE to RFC scenario.
I found some scenarios and i am in confused state. so i request you to please put your experience to help me out.
    thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Raj

    Hi Aaron,
I don't know your scenario and your ECC and PI versions but I learned how to use ABAP Proxy more than 1 year ago with the following tutorial:
Edit--> The forum doesn't allow me to post external link, just search "ABAP Proxy Communication Scenario" in google and visit the 1st result
The way to develop ABAP Proxys has changed a little if your PI is 7.1. In the ECC side, the transaction SPROXY looks much better too if you have a recent version of the ECC.
Edited by: Marshal on Oct 8, 2009 5:08 PM
I've found that SDN Document. Maybe the scenario is not the most simple to start with ABAP Proxy but is very well documented and is for PI 7.1. The document also handles the inbound and outbound proxys
