Step-by-step: how to install OID

Folks:
Can you please explain me step-by-step of how to install OID. I'm using Oracle DB 10gR1. I can't install AS10gR2 because I can't configure OID.

Hewjang,
if you want to use OID with an existing DB you have to create the metadata repository (within your 10.2 DB) first using repCA,
(see Oracle Application Server Repository Creation Assistant User's Guides
http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/getstart.htm)
then use the AS10gR2 installer to install OID into this existing metadata repository. Check use existing meta data repository during the infrastructure installation.

Assuming your rig can support virtual machines, you can use Hyper-V and run another OS there.
Better practice however is to use a dedicated machine and use remote desktop to the server.

How to install OID connector using OIM API in 11g?

Hi All,
We are using OID connector in OIM 11g environment. It is a simple process to install OID connector by unzipping the connector zip file to ConnectorDefaultDirectory and goto Admin console and load the connector.
However, we are looking for API methods to simulate "load the connector " step in GUI.
Please help.

I am not aware of this API to do the 'Deployment Manager' load task. But III try to help you using another way:

Can someone give me a step by step instruction on how to install windows?

I'm new to the forum. I'm going to be getting a MacBook Air within the next week and would really like to install windows on it. I've never owned a MacBook before so this will be my first time using one.
I'm asking a few days in advance as I work on board a yacht and will only be on land for about 2 days next week then I'll be out at sea for about 2 months. So I nee to know exactly what to buy/get on land before I leave. I'll have a good Internet connection the entire time though.
I don't mind windows 8, but would prefer windows 7.
I've searched the net and just can't get a definitive answer on how exactly to do it. I've never done an install using boot camp so I'm going to need some basic and detailed instructions if possible.
I presume I'm going to need to buy an external cd drive as well as a copy of windows 7 or 8.
Is there anything else I need to add to my list?

You can install Windows on Boot Camp or a virtual machine > https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3321
If you decide to use a virtual machine, install Parallels, VMware Fusion or VirtualBox. You can install the Windows version you want.
If you decide to use Boot Camp, you can install a 64-bit Windows 7 or 8. In both cases, you have to use a System Builder or full Windows 7 or 8 version, which you can buy at Amazon or NewEgg. You will need an external disc drive.
There's no risk in installing Windows on a virtual machine, as it's installed on a virtual hard drive. If you install Windows on Boot Camp, follow Apple's steps to install it > http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/boot_camp_install-setup_10.8.pdf

Is there a step by step instruction on how to install and use the ae render engine?

The answers on the adobe are in computer-ese and I just don't get it. Currently I am using ae 5.5 on a 2.8 eight core with a quad core waiting to be accessed for rendering.

I'm not sure I understand your question. The render engine is installed with you installed CS5.5 If you want to use another computer for rendering all you have to do is to install AE on that computer, open up the render engine (it says what it is in name of the app) and then open your project file, pick the comps you want to render and press render.
If you are trying to get the render engine to work in the background then you need to do a bunch of other stuff and we need to know all about your system, operating system down to the last decimal point, memory, and projects to point you to what may be the best setup. We also need to understand what you want to be doing with this machine while it is rendering. Things like working on another project in AE while rendering may require different settings than working in Photoshop or answering email's while rendering.

Sometimes, some devices in device manager are hidden due to corrupt or missing drivers.

Type Start DEVMGMT.MSC and hit enter.
Once in Device Manager hit the View menu and select show hidden devices.
From here, remove each instance of the AMD or Nvidia card you see as well as each unknown device. Exit Device Manager and reinstall the latest drivers you can find for your graphics card.
After you install the drivers, reboot and see if you get any different results.
If the above solved your problems and the Graphics Card is now working and is now being properly detected/displayed in Windows Device Manager:
If your graphics card is now being detected by Windows 8.1 in Device Manager, but has a "yellow exclamation" mark (or video drivers are not found or not properly installed or the device is disabled) then install the latest graphics card drivers and proceed with this Step-by-Step Tutorial on how to install AMD Radeon graphics card drivers in Windows 8.1 Pro.

Hey Molugu,
you shouldn't have to install the client certificates on KeyStorage Service, for receiver adapters. The server's public certificate is sent just in the SSL handshaking. What you should have is the certificate authorization tree in your Trusted ACs Service (if the issuer of your client's certificate is not already there).
You need to install client certificates in sender adapters, when your client uses authentication through certificate. Then you need to install that authentication certificate for the authorized users.

Unfortunately, you can't. Windows has never, ever been able to install an upgrade, or even the same version over itself without essentially destroying the drive.
Make absolutely sure all of your personal data is backed up, first.
When you install Win 64 from the DVD over an existing installation, it gives you two choices, both of which stink. One simply replaces all of the standard directories with all new data, fully erasing all third party apps you've installed and all of your settings. The second choice isn't any better. It moves all of the standard directories into a folder named Old Data (or something like that). Which again takes all of your third party software with it, along with your personal settings.
No matter which lousy choice you make, you have to reinstall all of your third party apps and set everything up again as if it were a new computer. The only thing that's different from a brand new computer is that your pictures and other such data should still be in your user folder. But everything else will be broken.

This is used when you are using FTPS in your communicaiton channel. The Certificates are installed in the visual administration. I have not seen any guide on how to install this. But you have a detailed step by step procedure of how to install in this link:

Apart from this you may also need to install SAP Java Cryptographic Toolkit. You get some help on this at this link:

Once when you do this your certificates can be seen from the communicaiton channel. In your communication channel in the FTP Conneciton parameters you have to select Conneciton security as FTPS and check the check box X.509 certificates. In keystore if you press F4 you will see the keystore which were installed earlier. Select the keystore and the X.509 Certificate.
Once you are done with this run your scenario. If you have any errors you will see in communicaiton channel monitoring.

Scroll the top to make sure "all" is clicked on.
Then find your the attachment that you saved and click on it.
