Step by Step Post Installation activities

Dear Gurus,
We have EP 6 on Windows and SQL Server. I have installed the dev system. Can anyone kindly advice me in steps by steps, the post installation activities? We are planning to have ESS / MSS on EP. Initially I have been asked to connect this EP DEV Server to the ECC DEV Server.
Can anyone help me on this? How / where do I start with this configurations?
Best Regards,

Sujeet,

Also, if you are planning on having ESS and MSS configured.
You will have to download the business packages from
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/contentportfolio
Once you are done with downloading the BP's, visit this weblog and you can configure ESS BP on your system.

    2) As per installation document give above there are two point

    3) How to integrate LiveCache and SCM sytem. Can somebody give the steps to of the integration of SCM and livecache.
Request you all to reply which will help me for SCM and livecache implementation.

  • SAP Mobile 7.1 post installation activities

    Hi,
I have installed SAP Mobile 7.1 ABAP stack.
can any help in locating the post installation steps to activate the mobile contents?
I followed the steps given in the installation guide.
after that I tried to carry out the basic steps like "Create an Administrator Profile" as in the help document under http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwmobile71/helpdata/en/45/1b199aa3f021a1e10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm.
I am unable to locate the roles mentioned there SAP_DOE_ADMINISTRATOR, SAP_DOE_TECH_ADMIN.
I believe I have missed some steps to activate the mobile contents.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Ram.

    Hi Ram,
if I get yur issue right, you do ask for the installation parameters you need to enter.
I simply istalled the usual ABAP stack - once you have done that, run the function SDOE_WB for example. If that is available, you have done everything fine.
There is not really an MI stack you can select in the installaiton window.
And once you have done that, and SDOE_WB is accessible, please run TRX SDOE_SR for the post installation process.
Furthernore you will find a guid on all necessary steps for post inst here:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwmobile71/helpdata/en/45/17a790d8000064e10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm
    Hope that helps!

    Hi Shriraj,

    "SAP Solution Manager 4.0 (SP10)
    End to End Diagnostic
Powered by SAP NetWeaver 04s SPS 11"
This document was very helpful and i successfully configured SMD.
Moreover you will have to download Willy Interoscope also.
Hope this will help you out.

  • Post Installation Steps for ERP add-on Inventory Manager 4.0

    Hi,
I need to confirm what are the post-installation activities we must to perfom for ERP Add-on (Inventory Manager 4.0), besides de BC Activation. I did not find any information regarding the post installation steps for the ERP Add-on of Inventory Manager 4.0 (the installation guide for IM 4.0 on service marketplace does not remark the steps only explain the theorical part of the installation)... And we need to confirm if the steps are the same of Inventory Manager 3.2 Add-on or we must do an additional step?
    Best Regards,
    MC
    Stephen Streeter Manju Venkatesha

    Yeah...of course...
    I forgot to specify it.
I install the first ERP 2005 SR2 on Oracle 10.2.0.2 and the other have to be installed on the same version of DB.
    All installation are not MCOD.
This mean every installation has its own DB with different SID for every installation.
And of course I have at least doubled the space required by installer. Taken from sap notes the required space for ERP 2005 SR2 is about 90 GB.
The total space of mount point is about 500 GB....
    Thanks

  • Post Installation steps of SAP Data services

    Hi,
Could someone provide screenshots/steps  of the post installation of SAP Data services on Unix.
    Thanks,
    Rajiv

    Hi Rajiv,
Once DS is installed you need to do few more things to make the system ready to use
    Configuring repositories
Create a database for the repository on your database server (take assistance from DBA)
Create the repository in the database with the Repository Manager.
Register the repository in the CMC with the Data Services application(here you have to give database details which you have given for creating repository (refer point a &b)
Assign user access to the repository with the Data Services application.
    Configuring users and groups
Log into the CMC Use Admin credentials
Create user accounts and assign them to Data Services user groups with the Users and Groups application.
Assign repository access to your users and groups with the Data Services application
    Configuring Job and Access Servers
Add and configure Job Servers with the Server Manager
    Add the Job Server configuration
Associate local and profiler repositories with the Job Server
Add and configure Access Servers with the Server Manager
restart the Data Services service and verify that the Job and Access Servers are running
Deploying web applications (BODS automatically installed web app if not you need  to manually deploy
    Configuring profiler repository connectivity
Login to the Central Management Console (CMC) and register the local repository and select the repository  connection type on the Data Services Repository Properties screen
Register the profiler repository and select the connection type to also TNS-less or DSN-less.

  • Post-installation security activities

    Hello,
We have recently installed ERP 6.0 SR3 on DB2. As part of the post-installation activities, we don't see any activities which are relevant to SAP security and roles. We are not sure whether we suppose to do any type of Security and Roles related activities.
I would appreciate anybody can share their experience
    Best Regards,
    Kris

    > I would appreciate anybody can share their experience
I would recommend using DDIC for as little as possible, so that you only need to assign authorizations to the user during upgrades.
In particular, I would recommend against scheduling DDIC into any jobsteps or running any transactions which automatically schedule things, or create things, as all you will ever see is DDIC all over the place and you will have a tough time trying to get it back again.
This should be one of the first post-installation activities.
    Cheers,
    Julius

From the R/3 Implementation Guide screen in TA SALE
      choose Basis
        Application Link Enabling (ALE)
          Modeling and Implementing Business Processes
Maintain Distribution Model and Distribute Views
Clicking on Maintain Distribution Model or using TA BD87, I immedeately get the following error:
The initialization of the logical system has failed.
With TA BD64 the error: Local logical system is not defined arises. I also looked at
    /people/swaroopa.vishwanath/blog/2007/01/22/ale-configuration-for-pushing-idocs-from-sap-to-xi,
    /people/vikash.krishna/blog/2006/10/15/replicating-hr-master-data-part-1 and
    /people/kevin.wilson2/blog/2006/11/13/ale-scenario-development-guide describing the same actions
to find an explanation, but without success
I assume, the error does not occur because the trial version does not support it, but
because of other post installation activities that must be done.
I already created two logical systems and assigned them to newly created clients 100 and 200,
but this did not have any impact on BD87 and BD64 as i was hoping.
Does somebody know what to do here?
Thanks in advance and kind regards,
    Andreas
