Using scripts created in CEP (2.0) in Audition (3.0)??"

I can use SOME of the one-step scripts I created with CEP, but multi-step scripts are a no-go in Audition. As of now, I use CEP to run older scripts I created (before I had AA), and AA to run new scripts I've created in that program, but cannot mix the two. How can I get my CEP scripts to run without a hitch in Audition?

Script inside launchd plist

Hi,
playing with lauchd plists to get some feeling about how certain things works I came up with this script inside the plist

Its close to what I try to do in my trial stage one (1), but see some unwanted and unexpected issues
1. why is there a tab at the first line?
2. Where is the first Item, is it replaced with the date or just ignored?
3. Should I see the result(s) of date as a multi word? If I keep a space between +%d-%b-%Y and %I:%M i get a wrong result.

Absolutely true, but to learn the effects of the shell created by the launchd and a comment somewhere on the web about "if it can in launchd do it there" and that I dont want to install to much, I choose for this, for now.

Launchd has many uses, but it's not the right place to put a multi-step script with umpteen pipes and dependencies.
Besides, I'm actually surprised it even remotely works, since launchd normally requires each element in the command to be in a separate <ProgramArguments> array element. In other words, your original:

The first line is gone because you're using getline within your awk statement, which tells awk to skip to the next line.

No. As per man awk:
The ``function'' getline sets $0 to the next input record from the current input file;
so getline moves onto the next line.
How can I return a value from a launchd?
What do you mean 'return a value from launchd'? You don't normally interact with launchd, so getting a return value from it doesn't make much sense.
And why does my script keep running?
because that's what launchd is for. By default, launchd is tasked with launching a process and keeping it running. So if a process fails it automatically gets restarted. This is normally what you want for system-level processes.
Now, that said, launchd has a number of variations that you can use to tell it to launch processes at specific times, or when certain events happen, or only at boot time, etc., but you need to add them to your .plist so that launchd knows when (and when not) to launch/restart your process.

How to use the place call step in the script

I am new to uccx and the document does not explain alot for me related to this step so much.
In the destination field : i use a variable of string that matched before.
The call contol group id : i use the integer of 2 ,the same as configured in the call control group number on UCCXadmin page.
Dialog group: the same as call control group id.
Here is my problem,the call contact field.
If i create a variable of contact with value null and choose it in the contact field of the place a call.
Call is not placed to the extension.
Also with reactive debug : i see that this field should get filled with a value to make the call works,but i don't know how to use it.

1. I'm not sure what you are asking. Do you want to enter in all of the holidays for the next 10 years?

What precise steps do I take to STOP this annoying 'unresponsive script' freezing of computer; error message: "resource://gre/modules/XPCOMUtils.jsm:329"

When computer is first turned on, and after Firefox is launched, the screen freezes. It continues to remain unresponsive to any mouse clicks or keyboard actions. After 10 to 20 minutes error message pops up:
Unresponsive script: resource://gre/modules/XPCOMUtils.jsm:329
followed by 2 choices (buttons): wait for script to finish running or stop the script.
This is an enormous waste of time and highly frustrating.
If you answer this question or provide a solution, kindly do not use technical or vague terms like "check if there's a problem with the hardware accelerator or with add-on or extensions". That's too general and I can't follow up. It's a bit like saying "go cook a meal". Instead, I'd appreciate if you give precise instructions, steps 1, step 2, step 3 and so on. Thank you.

Hello,
I've encountered issue during installation of SP1 to SQL Server 2012. After upgrade I'm getting this error in Event Log:
Script level upgrade for database 'master' failed because upgrade step 'msdb110_upgrade.sql' encountered error 537, state 3, severity 16. This is a serious error condition which might interfere with regular operation and the database will be taken offline.
If the error happened during upgrade of the 'master' database, it will prevent the entire SQL Server instance from starting. Examine the previous errorlog entries for errors, take the appropriate corrective actions and re-start the database so that the script
upgrade steps run to completion.
Can someone point me direction how I can fix it? This is a production server and currently only way to make it working is to use T902 flag in SQL Server startup params. I've found some suggestions to check Data path if it exists but it does so this is not
the issue here. Any ideas?

Before sending my message I've searched update script for "FROM master.sys.master_files" and I found script which you are showing me. I've made some digging and when I runned:

       FROM master.sys.master_files
       WHERE (name = N'master')
it returned also path to one my customers database name which has filename set correctly but it's Logical DB name is master and mastlog. I'm running shared hosting company and I allow my customers to restore their DBs from .bak files but I have no idea why
this customers logical name is set to master and mastlog. Probably when I change this names update script will work as it should. On the other hand in my opinion there should be some kind of fail safe mechanism for situations like this one.
EDIT: After changing logical name for DB and log for mentioned DB your script runned fine so probably now when I remove T902 flag and restart my SQL Server update will run correctly. Big thanks for resolving this issue.

Photographer workflow script - from card to web in 10 steps. Possible?

Photography processing workflow AppleScript
I shoot photos of real estate properties for clients and post them online to a web gallery via a CMS and FTP client. Because many of the steps are consistent, I would really want to have a script created to do the following (mostly automated, but does require some input from me). *Here are the steps:*
1) I start by plugging in my camera's memory card (the one that holds the photos from the shoot) into the computer's USB reader. Drive "EOS_DIGITAL" appears on desktop.
2) Script recognizes that a card has been plugged in and dialogue box asks "Process photos, process panoramas, or quit script." Alternitavely, I can engage a script myself if an auto-recognize function is overly complex/etc. For now, I want the script to process just photos (we can deal with panoramas later). Click "Photos". (of course, if click "Quit", the script ends at that point. I need this option in case I am not yet ready or I don't intend on processing the photos from this card).
3) Next, the application Adobe Bridge CS4 is initiated and the EOS_DIGITAL drive is opened in Adobe Bridge to the directory: computer/EOSDIGITAL/DCIM100EOS5D. It is within this director on the card that the photos sit.
4) At this point, the script pauses with a dialogue box instructing me to "Select photos"… This gives me the opportunity to manually select all the photos I wish to edit and share with the client later on. Once selected, click "Continue" which opens the selected photos in Camara Raw via menu (File>Open in Camera Raw…).
5) Once Camera Raw opens with all photos previously selected, the script pauses with dialogue box asking "Please click continue when finished editing". At this point I edit the photos using Camera Raw.
6) When finished editing, I click to continue on the script's dialogue. The script then selects all (edit>select all) of the photos in the Camera Raw sidebar (those that I just finished editing), and clicks "Save Images…". The Save Options opens and let's me "Select Folder"; then under "File Naming" selects "1 Digit Serial Number" from the first drop-down. For "Format" selects "JPEG" and quality "Maximum" and finally the script clicks "save". When it finishes saving, "Cancel" or ESC from Camera Raw and quit Adobe Bridge.
7) Dialogue box with buttons opens referring to recently saved photos: "Convert and save into MLS size, Web size, both, or quit?" The buttons of course will be MLS, Web, Both, Quit.
- If select the "Both" button: first, two new folders named "web" and "mls" are created in the folder bearing the newly saved photos from step 6. Next, the new photos are saved as copies into the new folders and (via photoshop save for web function) reduced to 550px wide (with constraints on) in the "web" folder and 640px wide (with constraints on) in the "mls" folder.
- if select "MLS size", then similar to the "Both" option but only makes one folder ("mls") and copies and sizes the photos to 640px wide in that folder.
- if "Web size", etc.
- if "quit", then the script is stopped and quit at that point.
8) Once finished converting photos, Safari opens and logs into http://www.stonehomephoto.com/admin.php using login ________ and password _______ (for obvious reasons I will input these into the final script myself--just let me know where). Once logged in, dialogue will ask "Is this an existing client or new?" with buttons Existing and New.
- if New, will go to http://www.stonehomephoto.com/admin.php?pid=administrator&code=edit and here I will fill in info to create a new user login for a new client: user login, user password, then click save. This creates a new client account so my clients can access their individual galleries thru the CMS. At this point I will proceed to the "Examples" tab as per Existing below
- if Existing, go to http://www.stonehomephoto.com/admin.php?pid=example&code=edit and here I will create a new listing for the web gallery. I will fill in the following fields: Title, Html address, Mp3 background (set automatically to /images/upload/music/Beethoven Piano Sonata 12 (Opus 26 1st Movement).mp3), Assign client (select from a drop-down menu), fill in the Meta title and Meta description, and add address in the search/map field and click "search". Once all this is completed, click "save". This will create the new web gallery and appropriate folders will be made (named after the html address) in the server/host.
9) Filezilla opens and logs in with host ________ username ________ password ______ and host ___. (for obvious reasons I will input these into the final script myself--just let me know where). Once logged into the server, will navigate to directory _____________________ and will open the newly created folder as created in step 8. Within this folder will also be an already created folder named MLS. Once within this main folder, the script will move the "Web" photos (created in step 7 above) into the directory. It will also move the "MLS" photos into the "MLS" folder. Once photos have been uploaded, script quits Filezilla.
10) Script opens a specified Numbers spreadsheet /Users/Peter/Documents/MY DOCUMENTS/STONEHOME/*TRACK:CONTACTS:COMPETITION (similar to this script: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2704594&tstart=0) and dialogue asks "Please select relevant row" and click continue. Once the row in the spreadsheet containing the data for the listing (including the client's name, phone, email, the listing address, etc, etc) is selected and the Continue button is clicked, an email is created using a previously saved text template RTF file and specified fields are filled in using the data from the spreadsheet. If you post the link with "client" in the URL to TREB/MLS, the listing will be removed by TREB and you'll get a warning letter from TREB, and potentially a fine (it's happened to past clients). These are TREB rules; not mine. The difference between the MLS version and the CLIENT version of the URLs is that the CLIENT version has contact info, logo, etc, whereas the MLS version doesn't. Install Failed: The following install step failed: run preflight script

I'm trying to reinstall Photoshop CS2 on an intel iMac, OS 10.5.5. I ran the install program, after a few seconds I get the following error message:   "Install Failed: The following install step failed: run preflight script for Adobe Photoshop CS2. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance." (I did contact adobe, but they no longer support CS2) Originally, I had installed PS CS2 when I was using OS 10.4.X, then I upgraded to 10.5.x. PS CS2 was working fine on my system. Then I accidentally deleted the program, now I'm having trouble reinstalling. I'd appreciate any help that you can give me.

I encountered the exact same problem - I had upgraded to CS2 from a previous version of Photoshop, back
when I was using OSX 10.3.9. Later, I upgraded my OS from 10.3.9, to Leopard (10.5.8.)
CS2 always ran flawlessly, through all those systems.
Then I had occasion to reformat my HD and reinstall Leopard 10.5.8.
That's when the CS2 installer failed, with the same message mentioned above.
When I called in, they basically said, buzz off....we won't help you.
First, this shows that their software is flawed.
They managed to allow this problem to occur due to inept programming.
Now they are either incapable, or unwilling, to write a programming fix for this problem.
It reeks olf ineptitude, plus colossal, inexcusable arrogance and disrespect for their customer base.
Just my humble opinion of course...and I've been a Photoshop user since 1990.

Getting error -10011 in filemaker when using AS in script step

I hope someone can help. I have had this script working before but am just making the transition from FM 6 to 7 and have to update the scripts.
I am gathering info using FM script steps and AS scripts from the backdoor of iTunes. When I create a new record i am getting "Data being accessed by another user,script or transaction". (-10011) several times when i attempt to pass the info back into the record in the FM database. I get the error as i attempt to write the data i want back into the current FM db record. Here below is one field being written back and it generates this error once. Other subsequent scripts for other fields generate the same error. I am using this AS at that point:

Try temporarily turning off all your firewall and antivirus software until the download has completed.

Use subflow or redirect step when calling another script

I have a main AA script and it calls another script when caller press option 6. When a caller presss 6 it is only transferring the call to the sub script. it does not return any values to the main script.
In this situation, is it better to use subflow or redirect step. i am think redirect step but just want to check with the user community.

Either will work. Here are a few thoughts to consider in no particular order:
Subflows count toward the originally triggered scripts' maximum step count. If you have a lot of steps, this may result in an exception. Redirecting the call restarts this counter since the newly triggered script will have its own counter.
NOTE: You might think that this is exactly why the Trigger Application step in Synchronous mode was created for. Alas, there is a bug which renders this useless in 7.0(1): CSCtd72562
Redirecting the call will result in the user hearing ringback. This would occur because of the recommended two-second delay step following the Accept step of a step to prevent a race condition. I find this to be irritating enough to shy away from it mid-way through an IVR if possible.
Subflows are more difficult to debug. You need to have sufficient code embedded in them such that you can trigger and reactively debug them.
Be sure that the redirect destination of an actual CCX Trigger (CTI Route Point). Do not set it to a value in UCM that is translated or forwarded back to CCX. This results in a race condition which CCX does not handle well.
If you were asking me as an individual my answer would be this: Is the code small enough and not reused elsewhere? If yes, then put it in the first script and avoid this topic all together. If it's reused in a bunch of places from multiple scripts and does not represent a large quantity of steps: use a subflow. Otherwise use Trigger Application if you're on a new enough version or Call Redirect if you're not.
