Hi,
If we changing the ip address of db & admin server (bascially moving to a new server with higher solaris patch update). What are the steps required from db & applicaitons ?
1. would we need to run adgentns.pl to remove the server from fnd_nodes and then regenerate using autoconfig ? As EBS is based on hostname, xml file, tns entries, is this really required ?

Would certainly check the /etc/hosts entries too.Yes, you need to fix the entries in this file before running AutoConfig.

Please make it happen.I worked out the answer to my own question.
1. Logged into my Apple ID
2. Editited my Apple ID email address (old) and changed it to my @me.com address (ignored the red warning about Apple ID must not use a domain owned by Apple) and pressed the blue Save Changes button anyway at the bottom of the page.
This created a new Primary Email Address with the @me.com (which needed to be verified etc.)
The Primary Email Address can now also be changed to my @icloud.com address if I wish (which also needs to be verified.
I would now like to be able to use the option to 'Make my Apple ID and Prmary email address one and the same'. So I can finally get rid of my old e-mail address as my Apple ID. It can give me the option to change it to my @icloud.com address, but when I press submit, it does not do anything. This feature does not seem to work yet. I suppose that is another question / request. -
What if you followed your steps for changing the language on your Apple id but it doesn't work on your App Store?

Order of steps to change IP segment address and it's resources - Windows 2008 R2
I have a 2 node cluster in windows 2008 R2 AD on an HP Proliant DL380 G6 server with an attached MSA2012sa DAS storage where the resources recite. Resources are mainly data, no apps.
I need to change the IP segment/address of the cluster & storage to a new DS3 circuit. I've tried to follow some of the discussion threads on this topic, but i'm confused.
Please advice the order I should do things:
1. in cluster manager, take resources offline, then change the cluster IP and the resources IP
--is it possible to change ips when it's offline?
--or should I shut down the cluster? is it possible to change when cluster is shut down?
--where does the ip of cluster itself get changed? I rt clicked on the cluster object and there is no option to change it
(in AD or in cluster manager).
2. in network properties of each physical node, change the public IP address
--Should I change one at a time, reboot, then do the other?
--Should changing node ip be done before changing cluster & resources ip?
--anything needs to be done to the quorum disk?
Advice will be very much appreciated. I've read thru a bunch of threads on changing ip but I need to brake it down in order. Thank you.

HRWell, I gave it a try. Only this was on a 2012 R2 cluster, so I cannot vouch for 2008 R2. (But I have extreme faith in the cluster engineers that it most likely works the same there. Again, prove it in a lab.)
Here is what I did. I had a cluster with a single network and everything was configured on that network - let's call it old-NIC. I added another network by adding a new NIC to each node - let-s call it new-NIC. I configured that new-NIC
on a different subnet.
OLD CONFIGURATION: Cluster IP - 192.168.1.30; Cluster Access Point for clustered service 192.168.1.33; Node1 IP - 192.168.1.31; Node2 IP - 192.168.1.32
NEW, DESIRED CONFIGURATION: Cluster IP - 192.168.2.30; Cluster Access Point for clustered service 192.168.2.33; Node1 IP - 192.168.2.31; Node2 IP - 192.168.2.32
The old-NIC on node1 was configured with gateway and DNS registration. I removed the gateway and DNS registration from this NIC.
I configured new-NIC on node1 with gateway and DNS. I then issued an ipconfig /registerdns to get the new name for the node into DNS.
Repeat above steps for node2.
I went into Cluster Manager and configured both old-NIC and new-NIC to be available for both Cluster and Client access.
I selected the properties of the CAP for the service and changed the IP address to new-NIC cluster IP. When accepted, I executed another ipconfig /registerdns.
I then selected the cluster core resource IP and did the same thing - changed the IP to the new-NIC address. When accepted, I executed another ipconfig /registerdns.
Obviously during the change in the IP addresses on the cluster, services became unavailable while the services were stopped/started to reconfigure with the addresses. Once the change was made and the services back up and running, the services were
available via the new-NIC IP addresses.
There should be NO connections to the cluster during this change. After updating the IP addresses on the cluster, you might have to issue an ipconfig /flushdns from the clients so they are forced to re-query DNS to be able to find things under the
new IP addresses.
All tests were performed in lab VMs.

I need confirmation of the highlevel steps required for changing to a new R/3 backend system in a SRM 7.0 server?
Our scenario is that we want to switch from an old R/3 backend to a new R/3 backend (both ECC 6.0). From what I can read from SAP Note 995771 the following steps would have to be conducted, only I don't know if all are valid or complete for SRM 7.0 as well?
1. Create new RFC connection for new R/3 backend system in SM59 ( in SRM system.)
2. Create new RFC connection for SRM system in SM59 (in new R/3 backend system).
3. Define Logical System for the new R/3 backend system (in SRM system).

When you create a custom task, you should add the task ID to the UWL configuration.
Portal, Administration -> System configuration -> UWL Administration -> Click to Manage Item Types and View Definitions. Select Configuration "com.sap.pct.srm.core"; and download the configuration. Edit the configuration copy the task block and add new task ID. Upload the configuration.

The steps on the page that you posted from should work, but you can only change your rescue email address if you remember your answers to your security questions :
- log into the account via the 'manage your apple id' button on http://appleid.apple.com
- select the Password & Security section on the left-hand side of your account's screen
- answer the account's security questions
- you will then get a screen where you can change the address (and/or the questions)
If you can't remember your answers, and you aren't receiving the reset email to your current rescue email account (and you've checked the spam folder as well as the inbox on it, and tried clicking the reset link again) then you will have to contact Support in your country to get the questions reset.

I need to change the MAC Address for Airport on MacBook
I have a specific need to change my son's Airport MAC address as his school requires the use of USB network cards that aren't compatible with MACs. These cards are needed because the school's router uses MAC address filtering.
Before we upgraded his Mac to Snow Leopard, we were able to change the MAC address to the MAC address of the useless dongal the school supplied. We basically created an AppleScript program that ran the "sudo ifconfig en1 ether xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx" and all was good.
This command no longer works for changing the MAC address. We tried it as root user as well and by typing it into the terminal window as root. After running the command, we can run "ifconfig en1" and it does display the new mac address but when we turn the airport on and try to connect, it just hangs and won't connect.
Our other non-Snow Leopard still works fine after running the commands so I'm guessing Apple disabled this functionality. It's hardly a security issue by being able to change your mac addres.
Is there a new way to accomplish this? I've searched everywhere.
Thanks!Would an easier solution be to provide the school's IT admin with your mac address and have it added? If they can add a block of mac addresses for the usb dongles, they can add more for machines that cannot use the dongle.

While it may not be a security issue for your machine, it is a security for the school network who is using mac address filtering as hopefully only one part of their wireless security.

Changing my email address leaves my Adobe ID unchanged
As reported in another thread, I think that the reason for being logged out every time I close my browser is a problem with my Adobe ID. My current ID is NOT my email address, but when I try to log in, I am prompted with my address, not with my ID. And I cannot log in using my address, because this is not paired with my password, while my ID is.
In an attempt to solve this problem, I decided changing my email address to a new one. I went to Your account in the top line, and followed all the steps to change my email address -which I was warned would change my Adobe ID, just what I wanted. I even checked the box indicating that I wanted to use my email address as my ID.
Well, my email address was duly changed, but my Adobe ID was not: I still had to log in using my non email address Adobe ID. I then logged out completely using the button in the index page, changed to a non Adobe site, removed all Adobe related cookies, restarted my browser, went again to Your account, where I changed my email address to the same I was using before. Again, the change of address was accepted, but this produced no effect whatsoever on my Adobe ID.
I would welcome constructive suggestions.Now that, hopefully, JC is back, I'll recapitulate and provide some additional information.
I am being logged out of these forums every time I restart my browser, and this seems to be related to the fact that my Adobe ID is not an email address. This happens using different browsers, in Mac and Win machines, and with three different ISPs. For changing the MAC address for Windows 7 is designed with some limitation, we cannot get over it. Thanks for your understanding.
Under Windows 7, the possible range of spoofed addresses for wireless adapters that can be set is limited. To be used by Windows 7, a spoofed MAC address should have 0 as a least significant bit (unicast) and 1 as a second least significant
bit (locally administered) in the second nibble. Thus possible values for the second nibble are limited to 2, 6, A and E.
In other words
MAC address: “XY-XX-XX-XX-XX-XX” “X” can be anything hexadecimal. The hexadecimal “Y”, written in binary format, is Y: “kmnp”, where “p” is the least significant bit;
p=0 --> unicast;
p=1 --> multicast;
n=0 --> globally assigned MAC;
n=1 --> locally administered;
So, actually MAC can be changed to any combination in which p=0 and n=1;
“Y” can be 2, 6, A or E.
So the possible MAC addresses in Windows 7 for wireless adapters:

Document for Out of Place Upgrade of ebs database
Hi,
Can someone point out to me a document which gives steps for out of place upgrade of ebs 12.1.3 database from 11.1.0 to 11.2.0.3 ? I tried it myself and it went well but I am still not sure whether something is still missing because there are still 346 invalid objects in the db. Here are the steps I have followed:
On the source:
Run adpreclone
2. Run utlu112i.sql (copy it from the 11.2.0 home)
Act on the recommendations of utlu112i.sql.
Backup the source db and the apps folder
Copy the backup to the target server.
6. Copy pfile.
7.
On the target:
install the 11.2.0.3 software
apply required patches
Restore and recover the database.
run catupgrd.sql
run catuppst.sql;
run utlrp.sql;
run dbupgdiag.sql
run adconfig.sh contextfile=<contextfile> at db tier.
Shut down listener and database and restart to load the new env.
restored apps folder (backup of source)
run adcfgclone.pl appsTier
run autoconfig.

1. adadmin > Compile apps schema

You can use this user exit to control whether an address that was entered manually and has already been used in other documents (referenced), should be referenced again if it changes or whether a new address should be created (duplicated).
