Steps for Master data upload from ECC6.0 to BI7.0

Hi experts,
I need to load material master and customer master data from ECC6.0 to BI7.0 and i could not see the steps to do so in sdn.
Can anyone please give me the steps from the beging till end usign Business content 0material_attr/text/Hier .

Steps:
1. Go to RSA5 in ECC6 to Install Business Content D.S.
2.If you want do any change then Go to RSA6 in ECC6
3. Replicate DS in BW .
4. Create Transformation (to connect DS to MD).
5 Create Info package ( to load from S/S to PSA ).
6. Create DTP ( to load from PSA to MD Objects ).
Please let me know if i am missing any steps.

Better to serch for the BAPI for uploading the master data.Becuase we have problems with BDC and FM's.
If you use FM's it does n't contain all the fields which you want.IF you go for BDC this is not maintainable for future releaseas.IF you upgrade then screen may change.
IF don' have any BAPI then better go for BDC.

Steps for master data loading by using process chain

I want to load the Master data by using the process chain . Can anyone tell me the step-by-step method for loading the master data .
I means what are the processes should i need to include in the process chain . Pls tell me in sequenece .

Hi,
The process os loading master data is similar to transaction data in terms of using the infopackages.
First you have to load Attr followed by texts and hierarchy.For master data you have to include the process type called as Attribute change run.This can be included as a separate process type or using the AND process.

Steps for loading data into the infocube in BI7, with dso in between

Dear All,
I am loading data into the infocube in BI7, with dso in between. By data flow looks like....
Top to bottom:
InfoCube (Customized)
Transformation
DSO (Customized)
Transformation
DataSource (Customized).
The mapping and everything else looks fine and data is also seen in the cube on the FULL Load.
But due to some minor error (i guess), i am unable to see the DELTA data in DSO, although it is loaded in DataSource through process chains.
Kindly advise me, where did i miss.
OR .. Step by step instructions for loading data into the infocube in BI7, with dso in between would be really helpful.

Hi,
my first impulse would be to check if the DSO is set to "direct update". In this case there is no Delta possible, because the Change log is not maintained.
My second thought would be to check the DTP moving data between the DSO and the target cube. If this is set to full, you will not get a delta. It is only possible to create one DTP. So if you created one in FULL mode you can't switch to Delta. Just create the DTP in Delta mode.

No master data upload from ECC to GTS

today I have opened an OSS Note regarding a problem at our client side.
We implement SAP GTS 7.2 SP08 but I`m not able to upload any master data (customer and/or material) from ECC to GTS. This is my third implementation project. On both projects in the past, I didn`t had such a trouble with this topic in the past.
I searched the whole forum and tried every hint - everything without any success. ;-(
Unfortunately, the OSS Note is in German. But I hope that anyone could help me to find an solution. Thanks to all very much.

1. Kundenstamm im Vorsystem hat keine PLZ in den Stammdaten. Bei Übertragung nach GTS wird im GTS-System ein Überleitungsprotokoll erzeugt, mit dem Hinweis, dass Kunde nicht übertragen werden konnte aufgrund fehlender PLZ. Korrektes Systemverhalten.
2. Kundenstamm wurde entsprechend im Vorsystem gepflegt. Bei erneuter Übertragung wird angezeigt 0 von 1 Partner übertragen. Ein Überleitungsprotokoll in GTS wird nun nicht mehr erzeugt.
Auch unter Transaktion SLG1 wird im Vorsystem kein Anwendungs-Log
geschrieben. Ebenfalls gibt Transaktion SM58 keine Fehlerhinweise.

thanks very much for your instructions. We created the variants and debugged it. Now fe found out, where the error occurs.
The call function for calling GTS "/SAPSLL/API_1006__SYNCH_MASS" gives us following message:
"Not just yet all adress numbers are collected."
Then on the other hand the SAP Basis suppors gaves us a possible solution. They told us:
The problem occurs, because the tables TBD24 and TBD62 are not filled correct.
Please use the following steps to correct this:
- Transaction BD53
- Select Message type (/SAPSLL/CREMAS_SLL, etc.), change mode
- Choose segment (mark an unmarked segemnt)
- save
- Delete the activated segment
- Activate change pointer
- in TA BD60 set up the function module correct (/SAPSLL/DEBMAS_DISTRIBUTE_R3)
The tables should filled correct after these steps. You can check it with report /SAPSLL/PLUGIN_CHECK_R3.
So I we went through these steps - but without any success. I`m getting crazy. ;-(

Master data upload from legacy

Dear All,
We are supposed to upload the master data from legacy system to SAP using LSMW and BDCs.
Is it possible to develop an interface between legacy system and SAP ERP for a direct data transfer? Can this be accomplished using XI?
Is the scenario asked by my team as above recommended by SAP?

Yes I think u can use XI to create an interface to transfer data from legacy system to R/3 also u can use other middle ware like webmethods to do the same. U can use ALE/EDI technology to transfer data as idoc .

Mass Master data Upload from MS Excel and JDE into SAP ( ECC 6.0)

.CSV file for Master data upload in GRC PC

Hi all,
We want to upload some Master Data for GRC Process Controls 3.0. Since we do not have access to MDUG tool yet, and we have a demo planned soon, we decided to go with the approach of uploading some data using the program GRPCB_UPLOAD.
So I uploaded a .csv file with the following structure and was able to create master data. But, the object name was not updated.
Structure
Object Type
Object ID
Infotype
Sub-type
Start
End
Object abbreviation
Object Name
Language
In addition, for some objects, we'd like to update the other attributes with data too.
Would anyone have the .csv format for such a detailed upload for Process / Sub process / Control?

First of all, thanks in advance, but I´ve tried to upload a template similar to Preksha´s template but when I uploaded it through GRPCB_UPLOAD program it doesn´t work properly, because when I execute the background process, I´ll check its status and then it is cancelled .
In addition, I follow the recomendations from the pdf called "Process Control Upload Master Data v1" released by RIG in June 2008, but in contrast I can´t upload the structure correctly.
Do you have any idea? Or could you give me an idea which explains how to create a correct template? Do you have any clue of what I would have done wrong?

Maintain number range interval for master data upload for existing employee

Hi Experts,
1)I have the scenario to upload additional data for existing employees in PA. Employees are already existed in SAP HR , But additional Infotypes are required to maintain for those emploees
2) I have the senario where i have to upload master data for new employees.
Pls give the detailed description of how to maintain number range interval i.e. External or Internal for upload in both the above scenario. Do we have to maintain number range manually in master data record & then upload it Through BDC or LSMW?

Yes Mr. Patil...
For existing employees
you need to execute HIRING ACTION Through BDC with External number range. While recording you have to use atleast three infotype i.e. IT0000,IT0001,IT0002. In addition you can upload other infotype through PA30.
For new employees
While configuration you can create another number range as internal for new hiring. and use NUMKR feature as well.
Here I don't understand that why r u looking for upload process for new hiring, if it is not mass hiring. It should be day to day activities which would be done by user through PA40.

Hierarchy for Master Data Load from BW

Hi All
I'm loading Master data from BW infoobject 0Customer. There is no Hierarchy maintained for it in BW.
Rather than creating hierarchy manually in BPC, I want to include mapping in transformation/conversion file which should roll master data records coming from BW to ALL_CUSTOMERS (member manually maintained in BPC). ALL_CUSTOMERS will be parent node for the hierarchy in BPC. No other levels of hierarchy is required. All the data should have one parent.
Something like PARENT=*STR(ALL_CUSTOMERS)
Please share your ideas? Help is very much appreciated.

If you are laoding master data from BW infoobject, you will not be able to load /specify any value for ParentH1/hierarchy node as BW /BPC does not allow that.
An option would be to
1) load hierarchy from a flat file or
2) to maintain hierarchy in BW amd load into BPC the normal way

You can look into the Standard Business Blueprint Templates - Data Transfer Tool of SAP....and get an idea...
Check this Note 1060029 - SAP Best Practices for HCM US - Variants, Misc, LSMW ...
You will find files for infotypes and you can set up your templates based on these....
Other way is to
Go to SE11 >> Enter the Infotype Number PNNNN (with NNNN being the Infotype)...
It presents you with the structure.......Copy that structure and you can create your excel sheet with that template....

I am not sure if the extractor enhancement methods, setup table initialisation for Master Data different from transaction data.
I am trying to do a delta init with initialisation of Setup table (OLI7BW) for 0CUSTOMER_ATTR. And I am not able to see any records in RSA7. Althought RSA3 shows 10 data packets and 1000 records.
What does that mean.
What I want to achieve is all the records a fresh for a few master data datasources since they were refreshed last month. Since then they were not being used.
Kindly help me as soon as possible.

For your information there is no conecpt of intialisation for master data.

As said there will be no setup tbale concepts for masterdata, the changes for masterdata follows the delta pointer concept(i.e whenever changes to standard masterdata table happens the message class trigger the delta pointer for those changed records and post in RSA7).So always u see in RSA7 the changed records for masterdata tables
