First step of lsmw

hi friends,
in the first step of lsmw,
i selected batch input recording, gave name ' ytrial01' and when i pressed overview,
it says please enter valid name
so i went to tcode, shdb and then created a recording with name 'ytrial02' and saved it,
came back and gave this name ' ytrial02' , it still says, please enter valid name.
can some one help.

Please follow below steps :
1. When you select batch input recording ,here do not enter name first time.
First click on overview -> Now click on create button -> you get pop up window ->
give the recording name ,Description -> enter -> enter transaction code ->enter all required fields when you go for other transaction.
Once you completed recording -> here you will see new screen -> please click on default all,click on save -> go back -> go back,now enter recording name
You will not get any error message.

Problem at the last step in LSMW Direct I/P Method

Hi all ,
I am trying to create the ROUTING using LSMW direct input method .
After executing the last step (Start Direct Input ) .. I am getting the Following Information as errors .

go to CA01 and try loading one routing manually and you will understand whats the error.
discuss activity type restrictuing to be laoded with Functional consultent.

Problem on last step of LSMW

Hi all,
i am new to LSMW, when i am transferring data from a notepad file through LSMW, in the last step i got the error that "Maintenance at plant level' and something '000000000000000' after that it close automatically,
plz forward me step by step lsmw.

Error in saving of 'Assign File' step in LSMW

Hi all,
I am preparing LSMW to load material master data for multiple sources, there are 4 flat files. In step 'Assign File', I created source structures as follows:.
1. Structure 1
2. Structure 2
    below Structure 2, we have children root
    2.1. Structure 2A
    2.2. Structure 2B
but when I tried to save,it pops up with message : Using different sequential files is not allowed.
Whats the problem ?

I too faced the same situation,but i solved it.
In specify files select "Data for one source sturcture (Table)".

Problem in lsmw. step: display field mapping and conversion rule

hi,
The IDOC structure to be mapped is missing in step 5[lsmw using IDOC]. Hence target structures are missing in auto gnerated conversion program.
As a result the the step Convert Data step is failing.[Converted data cant be generated]
I am using standard BAPI charcteristics as my Basic Type.
Anyone having idea why the target structure is missing??..

The problem is solved....The field mapping was missing coz i didnt assign the target structure properly....

Error in 14th step LSMW

I have done all the steps in LSMW.I can display the converted data in 12th step.but in 13 th step create batch input session I am getting error.In 14 step I have run the process in front end,its go to MM01 screen and ask to type the value.
it not automaticly picking the value.kindly guide me...

this error will be coming becasue of mismtch structure fields in Flat file. Check the sequence of data u specified in flat file is according to the fields u specified in LSMW or not?

Hi,
If you have knowledge of IDoc you can easily perform the following steps for LSMW through Inbound Idoc
To use IDoc inbound processing, you must first perform the following steps:
Step 1.Define or select a file port for transporting the file. Optionally, you can also create a tRFC port.
Step 2.     The partner type has to be defined or selected.
( WE20 to Maintain Partner Profiles )
For example-
Partner type:US
Report name:/SAPDMC/SAP_LSMW_PARTNERTYPES
Form routine:READ_USER
Short text:     Testing
Step 3.     The partner number has to be defined or selected.
For example
Partner number:LSMW
Partner type:US
Partner status:A (active)
Type:US
Language:     EN or DE
ID:Your user ID
Step 4.     IDoc inbound processing must be activated, and the workflow customizing must be checked. Both of these tasks are performed once in each system.
For this Step 4you need to doi the following things
I) Choose Workflow customizing.
   The Workflow Customizing screen appears.
II)Choose Perform Automatic Workflow Customizing.
   The auto customizing log for the runtime system is displayed.
III)Check the entries.
The following entries of the workflow runtime system must have a green checkmark assigned to them:
Maintain System Administrator for Workflow.
Configure RFC Destination.
Classify Decision Task as General.
Activate Send to Objects

Problem in LSMW using IDOC in convert data step

Hi,
I am getting a Run-time error in CONVERT DATA step of LSMW using IDOC. The error diplayed is a syntax error. I am not able to figure out the error. Anybody having idea about this, please help me...
The data is read successfully.

Error in the ABAP Application Program
The current ABAP program "/SAPDMC/SAPLLSMW_OBJ_070" had to be terminated
because it has
come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.
The following syntax error occurred in program "/1CADMC/SAP_LSMW_CONV_00000051
" in include "/1CADMC/SAP_LSMW_CONV_00000051 " in
line 25:

I think the pgm is standard ABAP program.....

Lsmw..........Step 5: Maintain Field Mapping and Conversion Rules

Hi All,
After maintaining all the four steps in LSMW, when I goto Step 5, I cannot see any fields which I have created in recording to map the fields to source fields. If i remember correctly there is a button to click to see all the fields under "Fields" after TCODE. Can anyone explain how to see all the fields which I have created using the recording session.
Any inputs will be highly appreciated. I can explain the issue if some one didnt get this?

Background job terminated in LSMW last step

Experts:
When I run the last step in LSMW: 13 Start Direct Input Program,
I set a background job for Trans:BMV0,
But it goes an error:
"Job started
Step 001 started (program RMDATIND, variant....)
Could not open file xxxx.lsmw.conv
Job cancelled after system exception ERROR_MESSAGE"
could you tell me possible reasons for this error?thank you!

Ichecked the file assignment in step seven.
what file path and name did you define for the converted file? is this located on your PC or on the application server?
did you execute step 11?
did step 11 tell you that SAP had written xxx records to the conv-file?
The file path is on the application server

How to translate LSMW steps

Hi,
I would like to translate the steps in LSMW in my local language.
Steps are:
"Maintain Object Attributes"
"Maintain Source Structures"
"Maintain Source Fields"
....etc.
It seems se38, se71, se51 don't work, and I cannot understand where to click in se63.
I could not find any information in SCN.
Please help me to translate the steps.

Runtime error in LSMW to create Material Master

Hi all,
I am trying to create Material No. using direct input method in lsmw. The program name is RMDATIND. But while executing the last step i.e Start Direct input program I am getting a runtime error
"A RAISE statement in the program "SAPLMG25" raised the exception
condition "NOT_FOUND".
Since the exception was not intercepted by a superior
program, processing was terminated."
I have checked all the steps of lsmw. Any idea why this specific error is coming?

Are you able to create the material manually with the data. If you have checked the basic data view then i would check to see if base unit of measure is mandatory and if its being passed/mapped properly for the material you are creating.

How to call LSMW from a Report program

Hi,
I have a requirment of extending vendor master data (Companycode data and Purchasing Organization data ) through Tcode XK02 using LSMW.Also I need to generate an error log file for validating the data from flat file and must have an export option of the error log file.
Can you help me how to proceed on this in steps.
Also pls let me know how to call LSMW transaction through a Report.
Based on the selection criteria I need to maintain two source structues,one for companycode data and the other for Purchasing Orgnization data for uploading data thru LSMW.How to do this?

create 2 LSMW object (under same project and subproject)..
one for extended vendor master data for company code data and other for extended purchase organization data for company code data.
Now check the radio buttons and based on that populate ur LSMW object.
Store project
project = < >.
Store subproject
subproj = < >.
Store object
object = '6GSC022_TS3'.
if r_ccode = 'X'.
Store object
object = < >.
else.
Store object
object = < >.
endif.
Call the function module to display object (LSMW) maintenance screen
CALL FUNCTION '/SAPDMC/LSM_OBJ_STARTER'
    EXPORTING
      project        = project
      subproj        = subproj
      object         = object
    EXCEPTIONS
      no_such_object = 1
      OTHERS         = 2.
Generating error log:
After the checking the field if u think for this u need to generate error message then In the Maintain Field Mapping and Conversion Rules option under the required field write the following code:
data: v_msgtxt(100) type c.
message <msg ID>    <message type>   <message no>
                 with   <var1> <var2>
                 into v_msgtxt.
write v_msgtxt.
Follow the next step in LSMW object till you reach the option Convert Data.
After you execute this option you will get the desired message here.
