Steps to add a new RAS server (in addition to already existing one)BO XI R2

Hi,
We are having one single RAS server set up in the BO XI R2 (11.5.11.1470) which is hosted on the SunOS 5.10 operating system which runs on a 2 CPU system.
Now with increased concurent requests , we need to add a new RAS server .
However I cannot find any simple GUI driven menu to add new servers as in Windows instalation of BO.(I am referring to the In CMC and then servers management area which exists in Windows flavour of BO).
Can i get any instructions on how to add a new RAS server in UNIX environmnet .
Also any idea on how the load balancing between multiple RAS servers can be acheived , will do me great help.(whether there is any configuration to be done or is it automatic.)
Sorry , if i already posted a repeat question because i could not find such a simmilar question in this forum. (maybe my search criteria was not strong)

Hi,
you have to add a new RAS Servier viah the ccm.sh command under UNIX. Check the Admin Guide for Rel.2 for more Information.

    Hello
I have moved this thread to the Netweaver Administrator forum (this is not a PI technical issue). You have a better chance of getting a quality answer to your query in the Netweaver Administrator forum.
Take the notes below into consideration after you have added the java node.
    1) #734931   Using a J2EE cluster in the XI 3.0/7.0 environment
    2) #1079478  Using a J2EE Cluster in the PI 7.10 environment
Can anyone assist with how to add a java node?

Thank you for the suggestion - I tried it but still didn't work.  When I click "New Folder" it gives me the pop-up to name the new folder, but doesn't put a new folder anywhere in my Project Library.

  • What issues we may face in installing a new Prod portal with same SID as existing one

    Hello All -
We found some vbs script files in the host of EP Prod system. On confirmation from SAP we deleted those files without any harm to our prod EP system. But customer is still concerned about the security of the system and wanted us build the new EP prod system with same SID.
We approached SAP and they suggested to install a new EP system and do customization rather than performing system copy from existing prod EP system because that may still bring those security threat changes to new EP prod system. (we ll decommission the old EP if everything works fine in new EP)
Now I would like to list all the issues we may face in building a new EP system with same SID as that of already existing one and then doing entire customization again in new EP from Basis team point of view. The following are very few i could think of. Could you please add some other concerns you could think of.
    1) Keeping in mind that this EP system is in use for more than 6 years, some of the customization could have been done on lower versions. So could those changes be again exported from Dev and imported into new version of EP we are building now ?
    2) Can't add two hosts with same name in DNS Server
    3) Can't add two systems with same SID in Solution Manager for calculation of SPS to upgrade new EP

You would have to run ipsinstall and install the new gateway. Make sure to follow the installation instruction for installing a gateway.
After you install the gateway you follow the steps in the link you posted to let the server know there is a new gateway.
Then make sure to restart the gateway and server.

  • Cannot add a New Essbase server into the EAS Console

    Hi can someone assist me...........
I have installed Essbase on a new / additional server (that all went rather well, its not hard just pressing NEXT, NEXT, NEXT).
I then used a essadmin account to configure, i have to say its not the same as the other essbase server (so i am wondering if this was the start of my problems)!!. I did not use the same essadmin as the password is unknown its not known and the orginal installation was not recorded. I do however know and used the admin account for the shared services.
I then logged into EAS Console (single instance of the EAS, with a plan to add 3 new essbase servers to this console over the next couple of days.) i added the new essbase server, then externalised and all was happy with the world. SUCCESS :-)
I closed EAS, and went back in and thats where the fun started, it then stated that it could not connect and i recieved the invalid login message in essbase. I have read some forums and followed the advise of going into Shared Services and manually removing the new essbase server registry under projects, cleared down and replaced the essbase.sec file etc etc to the originals and stop/started the services.
So can anyone help on what my next steps should be?, I don't want to run off and re-register again via the console for shared services if i need to use the original essadmin password in my configuration. Any help will be gratefully recieved.

  • I want to add a new Lion server to my network.

I am at the screen asking me if I I want to setup a new server or Transfer. Right now we have a 10.6 server that is doing the heavy lifting in our network.
My end goal is to use the new lion server to authenticate users, file sharing to osx and ios, vpn and maybe some server apps down the road.
My 10.6 server is now doing all of that. (minus the ios sharing and vpn)
What I like is to make the 10.6 server have some file sharing duties and well and a few other server apps, while the new Lion server authicates users, ect.
Will I be better off using the transfer wizard or just setting up new then configuring the two servers.
    Thanks!
If I have left out any important details please ask me.

You don't need to configure it manually. Just choose
Settings > Mail, Contact, Calendars > Add Account > Google
and enter your Gmail email and password.

  • HT1175 Time Machine wants to start with a new, full backup instead of using the existing one

Hi, my Time Machine wants to start a new, full backup, instead of continuing with the existing one on the time Capsule.
Looking a the Troubleshooting guide, I've found the following piece of info, which is, as 99% of the times with the troubleshooting guides, totally useless to resolve my problem...
Message: Time Machine starts a new, full backup instead of a smaller incremental backup
There are three reasons why this may occur:
    You performed a full restore.
Your Computer Name (in Sharing preferences) was changed--when this happens, Time Machine will perform a full backup on its next scheduled backup time.
If you have had a hardware repair recently, contact the Apple Authorized Service Provider or Apple Retail Store that performed your repair. In the meantime, you can still browse and recover previous backups by right-clicking or Control-clicking the Time Machine Dock icon, and choosing "Browse Other Time Machine disks" from the contextual menu.
It should be noted (hence the uselessness of the guide) that:
-I haven't performed ANY full restore
    - I havent changed my computer name
    - My computer has not had ANY repair, much less a hardware repair. Neither recently, nor in the 9 months I've owned it.
Which puts me back to square one, with the marginal improvement that now I have a way of browsing my old backups.
In the event I decide to start all over again, will there be a way for me to "sew" the two backup files?
Or will I always have to go the silly way around?
    Anybody has any idea?
Thank you for your time (machine/capsule, your choice;-)

    Hi John,
no, that doesn't have anything to do with my problem.
Just look at the image below.
Time Machine thinks that the disk I've always used to do my backups has none of them.
If I open the disk with Finder, obviously they are where they should be.
It is even possible to navigate them as per the instruction reported above, but even following Pondini's advice #s B5 and B6 (which are more applicable to my problem) didn't solve the problem.
Actually, not being a coder, I'm always scared of doing more damage than good when I have a Terminal window open.
My question is: how is it possible that Apple hasn't thought of some kind of user command to tell the idiotic Time Machine software that a hard disk backup is a hard disk backup, no matter what?
Estremely frustrating and annoying: I'm wasting HOURS in trying to find a solution to a problem that should not have arisen in the first place...
    Have a nice weekend
    Antonio

  • EXPDP generates new dmp file and reports "file already exists" error

    Hello everyone,
Hope you all had a wonderful holiday. I got some problems with datapump expdp 10.2.0.4. It would be appreciated if you could provide some advice. Thanks in advance.
I newly created a 10.2.0.4 database. The database can startup and be connected via Toad without problem. I can also use impdp to import some data to the new database. But when I'm trying to use expdp to export a schema from the database, I got the following errors:

    Additional information: 1
Every time I run the expdp, it just creates the dmp file (expdp_scott_mfp1_12262011.dmp) specified in the parfile under the EXPORT directory and reports "file already exists " error.
    Your advice is highly appreciated.
    Thanks.

i thought I found the problem. Used same file name on dump file and log file. How stupid of me. Sorry for bothering. Thanks and happy new year!

  • What are the steps to add a new MDEX host to an Endeca application ?

    Hi,
I have setup endeca CAS, Workbench, ,Auth and Live MDEX all running in the same machine and everything works without any problem. Now I wanted to move the Live MDEX to a new host. I have installed MDEX, PS (as EAC-Agent), updated the LiveDgraphCluster.xml as per the new setup and have run a reinitialize of the application. But when I run baseline update the index is not getting copied over to the MDEX host and I am getting a EacCommunicationControlException while its trying to copyIndex in the DistributeIndexAndApply step. AuthoringMDEX still works fine as its not been moved or reconfigured. Am I missing something here ??? The error message asks me to look into the dgraph log of the MDEX host and I see only missing file message there, the files which are supposed to be copied by the applyIndex process. How can I test EAC communications ? Is it something to do with eaccmd or eac.properties ?? anything to be enabled / disabled ????
    Thanks,
    -Naga
FYI I am using ATG 11.1

Are we talking about the EEW Business objects displayed in the EEWB as there is no business object called 'CRM OPPORTUNITY', but there is one called 'OPPORTUNITY'. Just wanted to make sure I was on the right track.
So, as I need to change the service ticket it would mean that my transaction type will be service request,or whatever the shorted value is, is that correct?.
I can see the transaction types in table CRMC_PROC_TYPE_T, although it looks like I need to pick SRVO (Service order) at a guess, and if this is right I'm looking for the EEW Business object to match. But it feels like guesswork to me. For example, I could choose EEW Business object 'SERVICE_TRANSACTION' which has an Extension type of 'CUSTOMER_H', or I could choose EEW Business object 'SERVICE_CONTRACT' or 'SERVICE_CONFIRMATION', although the last is unlikely. But, my point is there is so much open to interpreatation, and I'm expecting it to be more exact. Perhaps I'm just missing something.
    Jas.

  • I created a new i tunes account and I am trying to add music to my I pod touch but since I had an old account it will not let me add any new songs or let me transfer my existing songs to the new account.  I also purchased one song and it did not download

I just opened a new I tunes account.  The music that I purchased from an old account will not transfer to my new account & the old account email no longer exists it is (djbdeercreek613@com***t.net) and the password would not be accepted when we entered it. I also purchased one song "Country Must Be Country Wide" By Brentley Gilbert and it did not download to my i-pod. please let me know how I can get this problem taken care of.
    Thank you

Apple IDs do not go out of existence.  All purchases are PERMANENTLY associated with whatever ID was used for the purchase.  Go here to investigate.

  • ICloud asks for a new .me account.. but I already have one!

    Hi,
I just updated to iOS 5 on my iPhone 4 and I noticed that, in order to sync notes with iCloud, you need to use a .me account.
iOS prompts me to create a new .me account but what if I already have a .me account? It does not allow me to use the old one.
For the instance, my account @ Apple is with a GMail address and the .me address I have was created more than a year ago in order to test the old mobileMe.
    Any suggestion?
    Thanks in advance,
    M

i am having the same problem.  I already have a .me account and when switching to icloud it keeps asking me to create a new one.
    any suggestions?
    thanks

  • Installation of Database instance on server where database is already exist

    Hi All,
We have a separate oracle database team who have copied one of the database using oracel backup restore procedure. This database is in 10g and it is working fine from oracle perspective.
Now as a basis admin i need to install database instance using the existing database. I should not overwrite this existing database but i should attach this existing database while installation of database instace.
I have done normal installation using sapinst and installation export but not done this type of installation as yet.
I am not aware about which option of sapinst i should use for  installation of  database instance so that it can use the existing database without overwriting it OR if i go with normal way  will it able to catch the existing database and give me the option to attah it instead of overwriting it?
Request you all to let me know how to go about it.
    Thanks & Regards

    All, Thanks for replying
Please find below answer to some of your quries.
    1) Yes, This is ABAP only installation.
    2) The database is oracle and the file systems on database server are as per SAP standard.
    So as per Sunny,
Only way forward is to install the database instance using system copy method of back restore.
I have a mail from my senior, saying
"Normally, sapinst should sense database, SAPERP schema owner and you should be all set.
If that does not happen, as soon as sapinst pauses - so you may continue with Oracle Universal Installer in a different window
,you should STOP (abandon) the Database Instance install phase."
    Here is the query.
    1) "you should STOP (abandon) the Database Instance install phase."
I am not sure how to stop OR abandon the database instnace install phase. Do anyone knows this?
    Thanks fore your reply
