Steps to Configure Speed Dial

Hello,
Need steps to configure speed dial.
Thanks
Abhishek

Hello,
Go to the phone / UDP configuration page and check the Phone Button Template and check whether you have enough lines available to configure as speed dials. If not create a new Phone button template with sufficient speed dial lines and assosiate the newlt created Phone Button Template to your phone /  UDP configuration page. Clikc the link Add/Update Speed Dials on the same page and update the speed dial with the requested entries with the Label asthe Speed dial Label and the Number as the number where the speed dial shld reach.
The UDP profiles has to log out and login back for the changes to take effect.
Hope this helps..
Please let me know whether this was infromative or not.
Thanks

I think that eventually these darn things just break - at least that's my experience. Does anyone know of a cool quick fix for a stand that won't stand.

  • Configuring Speed Dials in CUCM

    Hi
One of our secretaries has two 7914 expansion modules on her 7960 desk phone and I'm having some trouble setting the speed dials up on them again after her phone was deleted from CUCM to resolve a problem. I'm using CUCM v8.
Here's what I have managed to do:
    -Create the phone
-Create a unique template and add all the extra speed dials using the 'Modify Button Items' window to add them on one at a time
-Enter the speed dial extension details
It's at this point that I hit probems. The first five speed dials - on the phone itself - appear correctly, but those on the expansion modules do not. As far as I can tell all the information is entered correctly, all the speed dials appear in the Association Information pane in CUCM, number 7 onwards underneath the 'On Addon Module(s)' header:
Unfortunately, while plaing around trying to find a phone configuration that works I now cannot add the speed dials in the 'Modify Button Items' window. I receive the below error:
Can somebody advise how I go about resolving this error and seting up the speed dials correctly?
    Thanks
    Alex

    Hi Alex,
Without seeing the phone configuration screen, I would have to say you are using a template that is not made for a 7960 model phone or the device you have built within Call Manager is possibly not a 7960.  If you can include a screenshot of the phone config that may clear some things up.
    Thanks,
    Tony

  • Speed dials

    Hi all experts.
I have 2 questions kindly take time to answer them
    1) All of you know, how we configure speed dials in mobile phones. We configure them on normal keypad, press the key 2 (for example) for few seconds, and the speed dial number gets dialed. Can we do the same in CUCM7.x or 8.x ?
    2) With reference to the above question, what approach should i take to find the answer on my own ?, i downloaded cucm 7.0 administration guide and feature guide, but it hasnt shown how to configure speed dials :-(, how do you guys search for a specific feature ?
    Thanks

I am going to assume by "mobile phones" you mean the 7921G or 7925G. Speed dials are a feature of that model and a referenced in the phone's documentation, not UCM. Cisco UCM has no feature called speed dials which is why you cannot find documentation on it. The closest that UCM comes is the speed dial line button type. The UCM-level features that are equivalent are :
Abbreviated dialing. You press a one- or two-digit index number representing the number you want to dial and then the AbbrDial soft key. This is a per-device setting (i.e. not global). These are configured by the user on the device using /ccmuser or the adminstrator by assigning a Speed Dial line button type to a device. If assigned to a free button it will act as a one-button speed dial. If you associate it beyond the available buttons, the index number shown to the left becomes its Abbreviated Dialing index.
Fast dials. These are Personal Address Book entries that you have configured as a fast dial through /ccmuser. They are accessed and dialed through the Personal Address Book service. These are per-user settings.
Translation patterns. Many other PBX systems have an explicit concept called Speed Dials that are globally available to all users. UCM doesn't bother with that feature because Translation Patterns can do that instead. Cisco just doesn't point this out very well. You can create a translation pattern that translates FROM anything TO anything. For example: *411 translates to +16085532447.

  • Speed dials for Intercom numbers?

Does anyone know how to set up speed dials for intercom numbers (CUCM 6.0)?
    -Shikamaru

Number of speed dials varies by IP phone model. User-configured speed dial and call forward through Web access
Users can configure their own speed dial numbers and call forwarding targets on a person web page.

  • Just got U-verse today, how do I set up speed dialing on my phone, I had it with the ATT service, but it does not work with the UVerse

OK - I looked at the manual & see they made it major project. Instead of simply assigning tel numbers to each of the dialing digits, you have to build a directory record first, then you can assign the directory record to a dialing digit.
Looks like the simple part is using it  - just press and hold the digit to dial the whole number.
So, it will take 40 minutes or so to break down the steps in understandable prose. It is too late to start now & i have a vet appointment in the am. All day is kind of full. But, I will try to do it tomorrow (thurs the 18th)

Seemed like there should be a speed dial, so I did  a search & found the cure is worse than the disease -
    Dial from your phone
Make calls directly from your existing touch-tone home phone:
Local calls: Dial the 7- or 10-digit phone number.
Long distance calls: Dial 1 + area code + 7-digit phone number.
International calls: Dial 011 + country code + 7-digit phone number.
Dial online from your myAT&T account
Call from your online Address Book or Call History, which shows a list of up to 100 of your most recent call records sorted by date and time:
Log in to myAT&T. Don't have a myAT&T login? Register today!
From the I want to menu, select Manage my plans and services and then Manage my phone features.
Your U-verse portal will open and a Make a Call box will appear on the left side of the page.
Enter a number to dial or select a number from your Call History or Address Book.
Specify whether you'd like to activate/deactivate Caller ID Blocking and Call Waiting for the call.
    Select Place Call.
When your home phone rings, pick it up to place your call.
    Important Note
To find numbers in the Call History, you can also sort numbers by missed, answered, outgoing, name, length of call, or type, or search for a specific call.
    Dial from your U-verse TV
With U-verse TV, you can view a list of up to 100 of your most recent incoming call records by date and time on your TV screen. Use your U-verse TV remote to tune to your Call History and return calls with the press of a button.
Tune to Channel 9900 using your U-verse TV remote.
Select a U-verse Voice phone number on screen.
Press OK to view a log of answered and missed calls. You can sort by name, date, and phone number.
    Scroll using the arrows.
Select a number and press OK to return a call.
    Select Call and press OK.
When your home phone rings, pick it up to place your call.
You can have a call list accesed from a browser.
You can call back a historical call from the browser or TV.

  • Freetalk-1200 Connect.Me speed dial problem

Just received my long awaited Connect.Me and it's been working just as I expected. The only problem I encountered was that I couldn't assing speed dial numbers to 2 of my contacts. Others work perfectly, when I click them, box of information appears to the middle of the screen, but when I click one of the two with the problem, nothing happens.
I have tried everything like resetting from the button and from the web UI, deleting and adding them again to my contacts but nothing helps. Adding new contacts works fine. I would not rather create a new Skype account for my self - nor ask these two friends to make a new account for themselves - just because of this problem. Any kind of advice is welcome
    Cheers from Finland!

Skype hasn't supported speed dials in it's software for some time.  It's considered a legacy feature. The use of speed dials is configured through the Freetalk Connect Me web interface, not the Skype client.  You need to sign into your Connect Me device via your web browser and click on "Contacts and Speed Dials".  Once there all your contacts will be listed on the left pane.  Select any one of those contacts and click "ADD TO SPEED DIAL".  It will assign a speed dial number incrementally on the right pane.  You can change that number to a number of your choosing (0-99) at any time.  That's all it takes to set up.  If you recently add a contact it my not show on that list.  If it doesn't sign off the client in which you added the contact or contact changes, then power cycle the Connect Me box and log back in.  It should update.  If it does not, the only other alternative is to do a factory reset on the unit so that it will purge the list and updated it with the latest copy.  Below I attached an image of the screen, though it may take some time until it gets approved and displayed to the general public.

  • BUG: Speed Dials not functioning correctly when Option button is last used

There is a bug in WebOS where Speed Dials do not work correctly.  Holding down your speed dial favorites button will not place the call. This happens when the option key is used in launcher or card view before attempting speed dial.
For instance if your last character of a search you did 4 hours ago on your phone contained a series of numbers and you locked the option key to do so, (or even if you accidently hit the option key last and then did not need it) then an attempt to use speed dial "G" will not work, as your Pre/Pixi thinks you are holding down the "6" key and not the "G" key.
This needs to be remedied (for instance have the option key press clear out or unlocked as soon as the search is performed or cleared off of the phone) because there is no way to tell what state the option key is in before using a speed dial (not that I want to check and fiddle with it anyway).

The Z and B keys are the * and # keys. That is why they are not in the speed dial list. Hmmm... while it might be a "bug" at this time your the only person having this issue as far as I can tell. Since the issue moved to another phone it could be that  its related to your Palm Profile. I unfortunately cannot replicate this issue but would like to test something. Can you do a Partial erase on your device and create a new Palm profile? This will see if the issue is still on the device.
If it is not then the issue is within your Palm Profile. If that is the case I can help you from there. Please post back when you tried this step.

  • Speed-dials MIA on 7921/UCM6.1

    Hi,
Recently migrated a customer to UCM6.1 from 4.3 and experienced an interesting issue. Speed-dials is no longer showing up on 7921-phones (f/w 1.2.1). The speed-dials and phone-button templates are correctly configured, but they refuse to show up when pressing right on the nav-pad.
7921-phones were running the same f/w when CM was 4.3 and there it worked just fine. As a proof-of-concept, we have attempted to configure additional lines as well as reassigning buttons to BLF SD, which both works fine and shows up as expected on the phone. It seems that it's just regular SD's that won't show up...
Using BLF's instead is not really a possible option, since that would remove the users ability to modify the SD's by themselves.
Anyone with any ideas regarding this issue and how it can be fixed? :-)
    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    /M

Is the user account correctly associated with the MAC address of the phone? It's under the "Device Association" link in the user options setup in CallManager if memory serves.

  • System-wide Speed Dials

Is there a way to set up speed dials system-wide in UCM 5.1? We have about 25 remote locations and we want anybody in the company to be able to use speed dials (or something similar) to dial their main number. We don't want to add them to Active Directory because there are other apps pulling from there.

Depending on configuration, your phone can support several speed-dial features:
    Speed-dial Numbers
    Abbreviated Dialing
    Fast Dials

  • Odd speed dial setup issue

I am getting an odd speed dial setup issue.  Here are the steps:
    1. Open speed dial setup screen
    2. Tap an open slot
    3. Search for a contact using the keyboard
    4. Click on the contact to select it
If I do it that way, I am taken back to the speed dial setup screen, but the contact is NOT added to the slot.
On the other hand, if in step #3, I just scroll down the list of contacts and select a contact, it works just fine.  Seems to be an issue with the search function.  Anyone else have this problem?

The steps that you are taking correct for setting up the speed dial. I have provided a link for additional information.

  • "Temp Fail" with BLF Speed Dial + Call Pickup

    Good day All,
I am running CUCM version 8.6.2 and many IP Phones 7962G.
I have a Manager configured with extension 1001 and his PA with extension 1002. Both extensions are configured in the same Call Pickup Group.
On the PA IP Phone, the second button is configured as a BLF Speed Dial with Call Pickup for the Manager.
When someone calls the Manager, she can see that the Manager Line is ringing but when she press the button in order to pick up that calls, she hear a busy tone and the IP Phone display a message that says "Temp Fail". I have checked every thing on both IP Phones and all seems to be correct. Am I missing something may be?
When I changed the Manager Line from 1001 to 1003, in the same Call Pickup Group, thats works fine. She is able to pick up calls for 1003. But on the CUCM Server, there is no such difference between extension 1001 and 1003.
    Please advise.
    Warm regards,
    J. Kabundi.

Which PickUp group they belong doesn't matter, don't need to be the same for the BLF PickUp Feature.
But if they are in the same group as you mentioned: Can the pickup via the normal PickUp Softkey?
If changing only the Number makes it working i think you may have a problem with the DNs/Partitions. Ever renamed the partition? Try deleting the manager DN, remove the unassigned number from your server, and add it again.
If it still doesn't work... i would restart the whole server if possible.
    Regards,
    Sven

  • How to recover Missing speed dials Assistant Console Lost after DBreplication problems

                       Hi everyone,
Does anybody knows where i can recover lost speeddials (contacts) from Assistant Console (IPMA Solution)  in Call Manager Backups or RTMT files?
I have 1 cluster with 2 call managers 7.1.3  (PUB and SUB) , the phones registered to SUB and the IP of PUB configured in Assistant Console settings.
I had a problem with replication of database  between the 2 cucms ,  after i resolved the problem the IPMA solution start to work but some assistants lost part of their contacts in aplication , seems like they return to an old state , they not lost all , but some contacts (maybe the last added) .
My question is that i want to recover , somehow , the lost contacts , even in the "paper" format , in pub or sub.
I know tht i can restore the old database , but maybe the old database was corrupted because of dbreplication problems.
I read already the "Troubleshoot Missing Speed Dials Issue in IPMA   Document ID: 111006" : http://www.cisco.com/image/gif/paws/111006/ipma_speeddail-00.pdf
and its useful only to backup the actual contacts , not the missing ones.
    Best Regards.

    Hi Robert,
We have exactly the same issue.
We have opened a TAC case and the workaround was to download the new IPMA client from the Cisco website but unfortunatly that haven't solved the issue...
Have you found something on your side ?
    Regards,
    Nicolas
