Steps to create an error DTP

Hello,
What are the precise steps to create an error DTP?
I tried this by going to my DTP > Update tab > click on button "Creating Error DTPs" > provide package and transport number
BUT, I get error:
"Invalid call sequence for interfaces when recording changes"
Message no. TK425
Diagnosis
The function you selected uses interfaces to record changes made to your objects in requests and tasks.
Before you save the changes, a check needs to be carried out to establish whether the objects may be changed. This check must be performed before you begin to make changes.
System Response
The function terminates.
Procedure
The function you have used must correct the two Transport Organizer interfaces required. Contact your system administrator

I have erronious data on PSA, now i am correcting data in PSA and loading to ODS and activating.As it is a full load, I want to keep these records in an another table like error PSA in 3.x. How it is possible in BI. I have created Error DTP which will post error records in Error stack and dont let the load fail. But it is not working.

HI,
On the Update tab page in the data transfer process (DTP), the error handling settings allow you to control how the system responds if errors occur in the data records when data is transferred from a DTP source to a DTP target.
These settings were previously made in the Info Package. When using data transfer processes, Info Packages only write to the PSA. Therefore, error handling settings are no longer made in the Info Package but in the data transfer process.
Settings for Error Handling
For a data transfer process (DTP), you can specify how you want the system to respond when data records contain errors. If you activate error handling, the records with errors are written to a request-based database table (PSA table). This is the error stack. You can use a special data transfer process, the error DTP, to update the records to the target.
Temporary storage is available after each processing step of the DTP request. This allows you to determine the processing step in which the error occurred.
"Repairing" with Error DTP
You create an error DTP for an active data transfer process on the Update tab page. You run it directly in the background or include it in a process chain so that you can schedule it regularly in the context of your process chain. The error DTP uses the full update mode to extract data from the error stack (in this case, the source of the DTP) and transfer it to the target that you have already defined in the data transfer process.

Error DTP

Dear All,
I am using DTP to push data from DSO to cube. I get a red status in monitor for the request in cube manage.
I go into monitor and hit error stack and message is "Request DTPR is not available". The error in data package says error in 0unit value. I have to change the value from UN to EA.
First how to get error values in that Error stack?
Second , how to create an error stack and an error DTP for DSO to cube?

Hi,
You can access the error stack from DTP monitor. Once you enter the aforementioned screen (via EKG icon), in the toolbar, you will find another icon with the image of a silo. That takes you to PSA maintenance screen, where erroneous records can be seen and edited.
To create an error DTP, the necessary steps include:
1) On the "Extraction" tab of your DTP, set the corresponding Semantic Groups (combination of fields whose values make a record unique).
2) On the Update tab page, specify how you want the system to respond to data records with errors: No update, no reporting (default); Update valid records, no reporting (request red); Update valid records, reporting possible.
3) Specify the maximum number of incorrect data records before terminating the load.
4) Under "No Aggregation", select how you want the system to respond if the number of data records received differs from the number of data records updated.
5) Make the settings for the temporary storage by choosing Goto / Settings for DTP Temporary Storage.
6) Once the data transfer process has been activated, create an error DTP on the "Update" tab page.

Error DTP Urgent

Hi Gurus,
This proplem is on production system so, any help is appreciated.
One error appeared while executing the DTP. The error handling for the dtp is Valid Records Update, No Reporting (Request Red).
I corrected the error in the error stack and I created an error DTP. I executed the DTP and it has status green.
The problem is that the status of the previous DTP (the normal delta one) remaines RED. therefore, when I try to run it again, I get the well known error message:
"Data has to be updated to the data target of
this DTP in serialPrevious request has status
''Red''This request must be deleted or repaired
before a new request can be started "
Is there any other action that I should take? I have read KJ's blog and I cannot find anything else.

HI Roberto,
Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately I am loading Master data so I don't believe deleting the request is an option. The red status DTP has loaded all the records in the PSA minus one (the errore). I was able to load the corrected record but the status of the previous DTP is still red.
I wouldn't like to change the update mode because the DTP was created by another colleague and i don't know what might have been the reasons for his choice.
Is there any other way to slve this problem?

Changing update mode in Error DTP

Hi Gurus,
I have some issues with data in PSA. I am trying to solve it using Error DTP.
While Executing DTP one record failed to load giving bad request. Now i created an error DTP. By default the extraction mode is Delta.
DTP extraction Mode->Full
Error DTP Extraction Mode -> Delta; How can i make it full. If i amm trying to change it, The option is disabled.

In my system original DTP is full and when i create error DTP, i got error DTP extraction mode is full.
Yes you are right, it is disabled.can you check the update mode of your original DTP once.
once the error DTP is created, we can not change the update of it.

How to handle the error stag(error DTP)

Hi Friends, i got some records in the error stag while loading data from Dayta source to Master data target and this is in the production. we didn't created the Error DTP in the production. How to delete the error reocrds from the error stag if we dont want to update it to the target.And the request is showing in yellow due to that iam not able to delete the dtp request from the target.
any help...to proceed with this error.

You are not able to delete the DTP from target?
Change the request to RED
Double clicking on theTrafic signal... then manually change the request to RED and Then you will be able to delete it.

Difference between petition red and no U no R in ERROR DTP

Hi experts,
I have created some ERROR DTP in some DTP that I execute in a process chain.
I Have a doubt now. I don't know exactly the difference between Valid records update, no reporting (Petition RED), and No update, no recording Options for "Update".
Wich do you reccomend to me? My goal is to save the correct ones and let the errors there to be manually revised, so I have set the DTP as Valid records update, reporting possible (Petition Green),

On the Update tab page, specify how you want the system to respond to data records with errors:
     a.      No update, no reporting (default)
If errors occur, the system terminates the update of the entire data package. The request is not released for reporting. However, the system continues to check the records.
This means the data inside this request will not be visible in reports.
     b.      Update valid records, no reporting (request red)
This option allows you to update valid data. This data is only released for reporting after the administrator checks the incorrect records that have not been updated and manually releases the request by setting the overall status on the Status tab page in the monitor (QM action).
      c.      Update valid records, reporting possible
Valid records can be reported immediately. Automatic follow-up actions, such as adjusting the aggregates, are also carried out.

How to create an error message which doesn't allow submitting form ?

Hi,
is there a way to create an error message so that the user can't submit the form until the error is solved?
On my form I am doing some validation checks when the user hits the button to submit the form via e-mail.
So if something on the form isn't filleld out correctly the user gets an error message. But after the user has clicked ok on the error message he can still send the form.
So I am searching for a way that he can only submit the form if he has resolved the problems.
I tried with
xfa.host.messageBox("material is not valid!" , "error", 0);
but this only shows the error messagen and doesn't prevent the next step.
Can I solve this with using a different type of error message, or user different parameters at the messageBox?

     First log on to SAP R/3 server connections Go to SCC4 in R/3 & in Scc4 BW server. A screen opens in that logical name of the system would be opened in both (R/3 & BW).
     Take notepad in it save .R/3 & BW logical names go to R/3 & click SM59 to create R/3 connections click then a screen opens gives BW logical name in RFC Destination option & give connection. type 3 & give some description & then press enter.
     You will get another screen under it then at target host gives BW server name we will get it from BW logon change ID, IP address option & give the system no. The system no go to logon pad just drag it then you will see the name.
     Then click on log on securities go to log on give BW server details like No, client user Password. Then save it then click test connection tab if there are errors then it gives yellow color if they are no error the whole thing come as white.
     Then click on the Remote Logon then we go to BW server give RFC SM59 & click create. Then give the server name which is at the bottom right corner give it then give the no, name, password in logon Security save it & test connection & then remote logon.
     R/3 - B W - R/3
     Logical connection source system connection is used to transfer the data from R/3 to BW. Go to BW system& click RSA1 go to source system option go to top to the source systems right click on it. Then click create then a screens opens then.
     PC Flat file , DB  Database
     Select the option manual then a screen appears RFC Destination, Logical source name then click OK then it goes to opens other screen save it test connection then remote login then it go back to the then a screen opens then click only activate.
     BW  RS1  SOURCE SYSTEM  CREATE MANUAL AUTOMATIC CELL
     R/3  Test connections login  back  replicate method  active data R/3 Source system you will able to.

Conversion of Logical System name for "Error DTP" is not working

Hi All,
I have created a DTP and corresponding "Error DTP" for handling the Error records in development.
But when i move the both the DTP's to Consilidation systems,
DTP is getting converted to the consolidation R/3 systems (Example: TQS).
But the "Error DTP" is not getting converted with the source systems as R/3 cosolidation systems (TQS) and remains as source systems as Development R/3 system(TDS).
We are in BI 7.0 version with SP level of 13.Can anyone help how to resolve this issue? or any OSS note available to resolve this issue.

Steps to create Generic data source:
If you want to extract the data from MM table in BI Please follow the below steps.
1) Create a view on that table By going in to se11( Do this for future purpose, no need of joining conditon as of now why because view is containing only one table at this juncture)
2) Go to RSO2, create generic data source based on view and designate this datasource under mm application component, it helps to replicate easily from the source system in BI side.
3) While Creating datasource make sure that field selections and selection criteria for fields.
4)Assign it to a package(specified by the team) for transportation purpose. Make sure the dependencies also will be going through request other wise the request may fail.
5) Replicate the generic datasource in BI System(by going in to the mm appln comp under r/3 source system)
6) After replication do create info package, transformations and dtp also.
7) Trigger the Info package and then DTP.
now data will be there in your data target in BI system
Steps to create standard data source
1> Go to RSA5 ,Select what data source u want , CLICK Transferstructure.
2> After dooing this u can see the structure in RSA6 , if u want to do any customozation by adding extra fields u can do it her , if not no need.
3> go to RSA3 and check if the structure is pulling data or not .
BW SIDE
4> Select Source system ->Replicate data source
5> create Transfer rules , update rules and cube and u are done
6> u can create a infopackage and schedule ur data load into the cube or ods.

Main diffrence is BW works on multidimentional model or using OLAP for data stagging
and r3 works on OLTP.
BW reports seams like R3 ALV reports but BW reports are advance and used by higher management persons who want there data suddenly .
BW reports took data from diffrent diffrent tools and generate very user friendly reports such as DB connect UD connect and Flat file .
basically BW reports used for alalysis purpose for quick dission in R3 report u cannot see past data but in bw report u can easly pull data from r3 and stored it into cube for future use its main point .
Aggrigate : Thes are used for performance after using aggrigate your query performance incress there are 3 thyes of aggrigate and those aggrigate play main role in performance issues,
DTP are used for data stagging in BW3.5 its done by PSA ..

I have few questions while creating the application.
1. Do I need to create a blank application or follow the steps
2. Folow the steps means with out selecting blank application click next and define all new dimensions that are there in .ads file
