Steps to factory setting ??

I'm trying to recovery my girl friends Laptop model L355-S7817.  I'm holding the zero key down when pressing the power button to turn the PC on.  It starts up normally and goes to desk  top.  Are these the correct steps to set back to factory settings, or do I need do it another way.  The hidden partition is still, I can see it in Disk Management program.
Thanks

It appears that model does not contain a recovery partition. The small (probably 1.46 GB) partition you see contains the recovery environment.
Recovery discs accompanied the computer. If they are no longer available, obtain them from Toshiba.

    Hi iPheariPhoPad,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like there’s an issue with Settings, the Notes app entry isn’t showing up as expected. Take a look at the article linked below and try restarting your iPhone 3GS.
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
If that doesn’t do it, try restoring your iPhone as shown in this article:

How to reset my macbook pro to factory setting?

Click here and follow the instructions. If the computer originally shipped with Mac OS X 10.6.8 or earlier, when you reach step 5, insert its original disk, restart with the C key held down, use the Disk Utility to erase the internal drive, and install a fresh OS.

  • HT5654 Tried to restore my ipod to factory setting and now it erased everything and says their is an error (1) and the apple logo is stuck on the ipod.  EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED!!!! Would have never done this if I knew this was going to happen! itunes is upda

Tried to restore my ipod I just wanted to back to factory setting and delete everything on it.  I did it and NOW everything is erased, gone, and stuck on the apple logo.  Populated that it is in recovery mode and needs to be restored.  Clicked on restored and error (1) came up.  So now I have a useless iPod that I purchased.  Big apple user minus my laptop.  2 iPod, 2 iShuffles, iPad, 4 iPhones, iMac 27 inch.  If this isn't rectified I will never buy and continue to push my consumers, family, and friends on my bad experience with apple.  iTunes is up to date and now I am concerned that if do anything to my phone this same problem will happen.

    Hello, Marc.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Error 1 or -1 can be very tricky to resolve and sometimes leads to a device needing service.  That being said, here are the steps I would go through first for this specific error.
    Check for hardware issues
Try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good. Also, confirm your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers. If you still see the alert when you update or restore, contact Apple support.
    Common errors: 1, 10-47, 1002, 1011, 1012, 1014, 1000-1020.

If the iPod is still unable to be restored it may needs to be serviced. The following link should help you get started with the process and has links with additional information on topics such as warranty and service pricing, battery replacement, and express replacement service.  This link will also allow give you the option to contact Apple Support for possible additional troubleshooting steps and options.

    Hello Partii,
It sounds like you may use a POP account for your email.  With a POP account, email applications like Mail and Outlook can remove emails from the server, so when another device tries to check the server for new emails, it doesn't see any.
You may need to adjust settings in Outlook so that the emails are not removed from the server when downloaded.  I found an article with more information:
When using a POP email account with multiple devices, email messages may only appear on the first device that receives them. This occurs when an email client is configured to automatically remove email from the server once an email client has received it. You can configure your email client (or clients) either to keep a copy of the email on the server, remove it after a certain number of days have passed, or keep it until you move it from your Inbox.
I recommend reviewing the full article for steps on adjusting these settings; you can find the full article here:
Using a POP account with multiple devices

  • If restoring factory setting didn't work for my Ipad. What next?

Here are the things my Ipad did before dying:
    - Flashing keyboard and other random parts of the screen.
    - Apps wouldn't open
    - Apps wouldn't download
    - Would randomly restart
Then it died: Would only show the apple symbol until it ran out of battery and again once it was charged.
I plugged it into iTunes and got it restored to factory settings.
I went through the set up process on the iPad and restored the last back up.....within ten minutes of set up it the above started again. Within twenty minutes it was back to the apple symbol.
    What is my next step??
    Thanks

restore to factory setting mean getting it back to how it was at first
if you after you do that restore your backup then the restore to factory settings was pointless
everything it did was reverted when you restored to your last backup

  • Ipad 2 still crashes after restoring to factory setting after upgrade to IOS 7.0.6

After recent upgrade to IOS 7.0.6, my ipad 2 started playing up.  Lost the use of camera like many others.  Followed advice to restore to factory setting after connecting to Itunes.  Took several attempts to do so as it wasn't able to locate my ipad in itunes and kept saying it couldn't find my iphone? Not sure why it was looking for iphone.  Anyway, I disconnected and turned off the ipad holding on to the Sleep button and home together and left it off overnight.  Next morning, I found I could turn my ipad on.  Feeling relieved, I started to input my details, etc, and in the middle of doing so, it just went blank and the apple logo came on.  It kept going off and coming back again.  I just turned it off again using the sleep and home button together and left it for a day. The next day I was able to get into my home screen but after using it to log into my emails, etc, it just went off with the apple logo appearing again.  I really regretted upgrading to IOS 7.0.6.  Nothing works properly anymore, ie my camera, the sleep button.....  Wish I could restore back the older version.  Is there any hope/cure for my sick ipad?  Hate to spend lots of money on repair.  Please help..

    FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
    1. Turn off iPad
    2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
    3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
    4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
    5. Release Home button.
    ON COMPUTER
    6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
    7. Select "Restore iPad"...
    Note:
    1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
    2. If you did not do step 4 properly, start all over again.

  • Satellite L650 - cannot restart to factory setting pressing '0'

I press down the 'zero key', then, while pressing, turn on my L650. I want to restore it to factory setting. It starts to make a noise (3 to 5min). When I release the '0' key, windows starts and Desktp appears as always!
Ive tried several times and it does nothing! I also have tried with F8, but it is the same...
Why I cannot acces to the restore menu???!!!
    Thanks!

    Hi
If you have an Toshiba European notebook model, you have to follow this steps:
Press F8 -> choose Repair my Computer > HDD recovery
Then follow the steps on the screen
The 0 button works for Toshiba Australian models and i guess for US notebook models

  • Macbook Air Factory setting

I have got my Brand new Macbook air in late 2011(running OS X 10.72), wondering how to restore back to factory setting (oneday when I wanna upgrade to Macbook 13 or Macbook Pro and sell this MBA 11") ? Since we dont have the USB key, like previous version MBA
I have searched on this forum, and got following ans.--> SHOULD I do A, B, C all of these "3" steps?  Appreciated everyone of you! I am very new to Mac, but I am really loving this system , that's why I am thinking to upgrade to a much more powerful Mac right now.
    ================================================================================ ===============
    A. Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    B. Erase the hard drive:
Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continuebutton.
After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area.  If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing.  SMART info will not be reported  on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on theErase button and wait until the process has completed.
Quit DU and return to the main menu.
    C. Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion and click on the Install button.

Don't know if the following is true, but I read it somewhere and then did when I recently "zeroed" my MBP.
It suggested before doing anything, to sign into iTunes and deauthorize the computer.  The reasoning as I understood it was that you could ONLY deauthorize a computer while on that computer.  Since according to the present rules, you can only have 5 computers signed into an iTunes account, if you don't do this, you will be restricted to 4 computers in the future.
Five devices sound like a lot, but a couple of IPs, a MBA, a iMac and a iPad puts me upto 5 devices. Ops, I also have 2 ATVs.  Maybe some of these devices don't count toward the 5 devices allowed, but why take a chance?

  • What is the factory setting pin code for my ipod touch?

im looking to make a purchase in app on my ipod touch and i need to switch off the restrictions under general settings. in order to this i need the pin code which is 4 digits. this must be factory set as ive not set it previously.
    thanks

A: what is the factory setting pin code for my ipod touch?

There is no default setting. You have to set the passcodes. If you cannot remember them, then see:
If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.
Try restoring the iOS device if backing up and erasing all content and settings doesn't resolve the issue. Using iTunes to restore iOS devices is part of standard isolation troubleshooting. Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition.
Before restoring your iOS device, Apple recommends that you either sync with iTunes to transfer any purchases you have made, or back up new data (data acquired after your last sync). If you have movie rentals on the device, see iTunes Store movie rental usage rights in the United States before restoring.
Follow these steps to restore your device:
Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes before attempting to update.
Connect your device to your computer.
Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
    Select the Summary tab.
    Select the Restore option.
When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the Back Up option (see in the image below). If you have just backed up the device, it is not necessary to create another.
Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (as long as you've backed up, you should not have to worry about restoring your iOS device).
When the restore process has completed, the device restarts and displays the Apple logo while starting up:

  • Unable to reset hp monitor to factory setting

I was setting up a brand new monitor, Pavilion 22 forbw and our brand new laptop, Pavilion x2 detouchable 10.  When we were  trying to solve black band around window, we adjusted the monitor setting.  Since we are new to both devices and Win 8 or 8.1 we must have done something we didn't meant to.  As you may have guessed, we are not really proficient in PC set ups.
Please help us with these problems.

2: The factory reset on the monitor doesn't work as if the purple tint is the factory setting.
3: The original problem of the black band is still there.  We got 22" monitor but it displays only the size of 15" or so.
