Steps to setup duplex for a pdf
Hi,
I have tried to make LC Output create a pdf with duplex active, but I cannot make it work. I hope you can help me, as it is a demand by the customer.
My Process:
LC Output create pdf, watermark can be put on with Assembler, will be printed to a PS printer (use OutputService > sendToPrinter)
I have tried:
- set up in LC designer under PDF Print option => I then check pdf in Acrobat > properties but says simplex
- set up an XCI with
<pagination>duplexLongEdge</pagination>
<paginationOverride>none</paginationOverride>
=> I then check pdf in Acrobat > properties but says simplex
- I have read about XDC files, but want to know for sure before I go that way because time is limited and seem complex. We use Lexmark printer c782.
I hope you clever LC user og Adobe specialist can give me help to the steps to solve this hurdle. I want my customer to be happy and to save trees
Look forward hearing you ideas for an solution

Hello Amit,
You should be able to maintain Embargo block for a country in transaction /n/SAPSLL/CNTRY. You can also set the validity period of the embargo in the transaction.
The customising steps and processes are outlined in the GTS configuration guide and also in the IMG documentation specifically under the Embargo customising: SPRO > IMG>SAP Global Trade Services > SAP Compliance Management "Embargo Check" Service ...
Hope this helps,
Kind Regards
Ann Marie

iCloud: Set up iCloud Mail on your devices and computers
http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2621
Make sure that you're setting the account up through System Preferances:
"2. Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click iCloud and sign in with either your Apple ID (the one you use with iCloud) or your @icloud.com email address."
That should get you up and running.

Install 3rd party PDF iFilter for index PDF file as attachment in e-mail (msg)
I have called Microsoft Permium Support, base on the reply, SharePoint 2013 does not support to index a PDF file attachment in E-mail (msg) except 3rd party iFilter installed. And they finally told me how to edit Windows Registry for install the Adobe iFilter.
But, the Adobe iFilter is too weak to call large PDF files. So, I would like to install and try the Foxit PDF iFilter, but I cannot find an installation guide for this 3rd party ifilter with SharePoint 2013.
Does anyone here have the experience for Foxit PDF iFilter with SharePoint 2013 can help me?
I am not sure it is bug or feature in SharePoint 2013, but in case I still have to install 3rd party iFilter for index PDF file. I have no idea what is the out of box pdf file indexing support for.You ca plan to use Foxit.
steps are nearly the same which we use in sharepoint 2013
1. We need to update registry for pdf . Registry value is {987f8d1a-26e6-4554-b007-6b20e2680632}
2. we need to install the foxit ifilter
Here are steps for same
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2293357
3. run below command:
net stop spsearch4
net start spsearch4
net stop osearch14
net start osearch14

My iPod is not being read by iTunes. What do I do to be able to sync my iPod if iTunes is not starting the setup wizard for the iPod when it is connected to a Dell PC? I am new the iTunes and iPods.
Hello, BAHannebaum.
The article below should resolve any device not being recognized in iTunes issue that you are experiencing. The most common issues are the Apple Mobile Device Support driver or iTunes is outdated. Start with the first step and test the results after each step processed.

How to setup a four page PDF in Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro to print only one of four pages?
Hello,
I have a request from a end-user to setup a four page PDF in Adobe Acroat 9 PDF to only allow printing of one specific page of the four page PDF.
The end-user will abe able to view the four pages in the PDF - however - the PDF would only allow printing of one page. The PDF would need to be pre-set for the end-user. Is there a setting Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro to allow this type of specific pre-set printing.
I appreciate your help. I hope to hear from you soon. No, Acrobat can't do that.

Reductions in InDesign for a pdf using decimals?
Is there a way to achieve a percentage for a reduction using the print screen in InDesign so we can make a 93.5% reduction for a pdf? It will only let me use whole numbers. I know we can use Prinergy software to run the pdf thru to achieve this, but can this be done another way using Indesign?
Print > Setup > Options > Scale lets me input two digits after the decimal point (like 93.38%). What version of Indesign are you using?

Setup tables for invoices header data (2LIS_13_VDHDR)
Hi experts,
I am using 2LIS_13_VAHDR and 2LIS_13_VAITM to transfer data to SAP BW. Through the t-code SBIW, I I run the job to fill setup tables with invoices data. the job is completed succefully. when I check the extractors in RSA3, the extractor 2LIS_13_VAHDR doesn't bring any data while 2LIS_13_VAITM bring a set of items !!
I m wondering why I dont get invoices header data!
Thank's a lot for your help.
Abdess,Hi,
Did you delete the old initialization request from BW and also delete old setup table.
Because the issue is strange, If you are able to see entries in item then header should also fetch data.
Repeat the steps again if you have time.
Use T-Code LBWG to delete setup table.
Delete MCXE13 entries in LBWQ.
Use T-Code OLI9BW to fillup setup table for 2lis_13.
Thanks,
Shakthi Raj Natarajan. -
Gif or tiff files recommended for a PDF for publication?
Hello,
I recently lost all the source files (InDesign of course) for a PDF that I created, but I still have the PDF itself. I bought some software (recosoft) that allows
me to open the PDF in InDesign, but I am given the choice of opening the images in the PDF as either gif or tiff files. Since the PDF needs to be edited more and will eventually be sent out to for publication, can anyone tell me which would be better, to have the images converted into gif or tiff? There are hundreds of images and they are integral to the (black and white) book.
Thanks in advance!
JamesProperly speaking, the question is underspecified.
GIF is a file format that supports 8-bit color and no dpi specification, and is generally assumed to be 72dpi but the user can always indicate the image should be scaled appropriately, and supports limited transparency. It uses lossless compression, which means it is a very good file format indeed when compared to JPEG, if you are dealing with line art, text, or hard edges.
TIFF is a container file format. It has hundreds of different options (which is to say, millions of combinations of options), can be compressed lossily or losslessly (but is usually lossless), and supports a wide array of bit depths and color spaces, as well as metainformation including the resolution/dpi. It's easy to produce TIFF files with options that are wrong for any particular purpose.
Most of the time, if you are forced to choose between GIF and TIFF, you should choose TIFF. But if your images meet GIF's somewhat narrow constraints, you are probably better off choosing GIF. Certainly with GIF you know what you're getting. A lot depends on what the software is actually doing, which can be unknowable.
(A more common and frequently confused dilemma is JPEG versus GIF, and many people mistakenly choose JPEG when the image is not suitable for JPEG compression, and this can be a horrible horrible mistake that continues to make me feel sick every time I see the results, which is all-too-frequently.)
In this case, though, one has to wonder what the software developers were thinking. I'm not familiar with recosoft, but PDFs store images in only a small number of ways. They can be compressed lossily with JPEG compression, and they can be stored losslessly with a few other choices (the specifics of which don't matter too much because they are lossless!) like Flate (aka Zip), CCITT/Fax, LZW, and no compression at all.
When you're extracting an image from a PDF, what should be important is that you don't transcode the image through a lossy compression step. That is, if it was saved in the PDF with JPEG compression, you want to extract it with JPEG compression. If it was saved in the PDF without JPEG compression, you want to extract it without JPEG compression. Any time you change lossy compresson formats, you introduce artifacts, which are usually undesirable. There's no way to tell from looking at the PDF what non-lossy format the image originally was (e.g. to distinguish a PNG from GIF), but JPEGs are clearly identifable.
I usually use the free command-line tool pdfimages to extract images from PDFs, using the -j option to preserve JPEG compression where appropriate. pdfimages is part of xpdf. You can also do it with Acrobat Professional, though offhand I forget if it has a setting that is smart enough to extract JPEGs automatically where appropriate. -
Cocoon - Tomcat - APEX for FOP PDF printing
I'm trying to setup Cocoon & Tomcat with APEX 4.1 for doing PDF printing of some reports.
I'm using Linux 64bit, Tomcat 7.0.22, Cocoon 2.1.11, and JDK (build 1.6.0_24-b07).
I followed Carl Backstrom's very helpful [blog entry|http://carlback.blogspot.com/2007/03/apex-cocoon-pdf-and-more.html] about using cocoon and tomcat to produce PDF reports through APEX. However, I must just be missing something, because it's not working at all for me.
Does anyone have any suggestions about getting this to work? Whenever, I attempt to hit the cocoon site (localhost:8080/cocoon/), I receive the following error:
"org.apache.cocoon.ResourceNotFoundException: No pipeline matched request: index.html"
Whenever I attempt to download a PDF report, I receive this error:
"Adobe reader cannot open 'reportname.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged."
If you have this configuration (cocoon, tomcat, APEX, PDF printing) working, I'd greatly appreciate it if you shared any URLs or tips you have in getting this setup. I understand why folks fork out the big $ for BI Publisher, but that's not an option for me.
Many thanks,
ReidIn the Tomcat Manager app, it shows that cocoon is deployed and running.
I was able to reload it as well:
"OK - Reloaded application at context path /cocoon"
I see this in the Tomcat log:
"SEVERE: The web application [cocoon] appears to have started a thread named [HSQLDB Timer @6b033450] but has failed to stop it. This is very likely to create a memory leak." -
How to setup variants for webdynpro report in ABAP? Help!
Hi Experts,
I have a webdynpro for ABAP report with selection screen.
How to setup variants for webdynpro report in ABAP?
Thanks
GopalHi Gopal,
There is no concept of Variant in Webdynpro ABAP. But in our project we have some tool to do that. Its not release to the client I think. In my scenarieo, We create the Screen variant and program name will be supplied to the tool that will generate the ouput in PDF and Selection screen in One view. But the same is not avilable .
If you want the same concept in Webdynpro ABAP, you need to go for Dynamic programming only. This is the only option is avilable.
Warm Regards,

What are the steps to setup an HTTP Session replication clustering in oc4j9
what are the steps to setup an HTTP Session replication clustering in oc4j9.0.5
Are you sure you have the correct version number for OC4J? Is this a standalone OC4J instance, if it then the steps involved are different from the full stack. Please check the Higher Availibility guide in the documentation on OTN.

Steps to setup JDeveloper 9i to modify and test the iPayment servlets
Hi,
I am working on modification to iPayments module of EBS Release 11.5.9. We need to modfiy part of code in Paymentech BEP (Back End Payment) servlet.
Could anyone please let me know the steps to setup JDeveloper 9i to modify the servlet code, test and debug the changes from JDeveloper. It would be really helpful if you could point me to some document which has the details of the process.
Appreciate your help.
Thanks,
NavadeepNavadeep,
Short answer: I don't have such a document, nor do I know where to find one.
Since most of the people who regularly monitor and post to this forum don't work with the E-Business suite (at least not iPayment) - I don't feel you'll get a good response here. I hope someone can prove me wrong. The best place to find this information is the E-Business Suite forums or perhaps Metalink.
Furthermore, I don't believe that Oracle supports modifying the supplied iPayment servlets. So, I think Metalink is the right place for you to start.
