Hi mapexvenus, I'm the owner of the company behind Nuevasync and I'm glad
the service is working for you. As an engineer, the whole 'these must be
bad guys selling our calendar data' thing has been both an education and
slightly perplexing. It hadn't even occurred to me that a) someone might
actually make a service like this with the intention of misusing folk's
data and b) that people would suspect that we would do so.
Anyway, the shiny new privacy policy has now been written, is in review
(e-mail our support alias if you'd like to review it) and should be posted
on the site real soon. We could have a debate about whether a privacy
policy gives you more privacy or less (from my perspective, reviewing
other sites' privacy policies in the process of writing ours, I really
wasn't sure about that), but quite a few people do seem to equate the
existence of said policy with enhanced privacy and we will shortly have
one.
We are a small company but our staff have a long history working for
well known and less well known 'real' Internet companies. I worked for
Netscape for example.
The last week and a half have been 'interesting' for us as we worked
to keep up with the load on the service and the large number of edge
case bugs that showed up once we had thousands of users' data syncing.
Things like privacy policy, terms of service, cool marketing material
on the site and a long list of other stuff have taken a lower priority
over ensuring reliable and correct sync service for our users.
This is something of an 'accidental empire' that we have here right now.
We started the service as a way to prove and test our sync protocol
software, which we expected to market to OEMs. We had no idea that the
iPhone 2.0 would ship with no good way to sync with Google, and that
as a result we would acquire thousands of users overnight. Hopefully
this explains some of the lack of the typical startup sparkle and pop.
Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

  • Ical not properly syncing with android device google calendar?

I have my iCal and my gmail account linked with for the calendars and address book. When I create an event with a specific time of day I can log on to google calendar from the internet and see the event exactly as I created it. When I look on my android phone which is also synced with google calendar it shows the event as all day no matter what I do in iCal. Any suggestions on what to do/ideas on why this is happening?

Thanks for posting this, JW --- I was about to post something similar because I'd entered some events for 11/7 last week in Entourage 2008 and noticed they were syncing an hour later on the iPhone and it was driving me crazy as I was thinking they would correct themselves (in iCal) once the time changed.
They didn't so I ended up deleting them off the phone and they managed to sync correctly from Entourage. Then I made some mods and noticed they had advanced up one hour again.
Maybe some DST patch is needed because technology probably still thinks time changes the last Saturday in October as I'm sure no one has thought to adjust this in programming?
I guess we have to wait and see....

  • Suddenly ICal & Address Book stopped syncing with Outlook for Mac

2 days ago, ICal and Address Book stopped syncing with Outlook for Mac 2011.  I still have full functionality of Email in Outlook.
What is wrong and how can I fix it?

Any solution here yet? I have the same issue. After upgrading to Yosemite Outlook for mac kept requiring me to "rebuild identity database"
I did this many times so there were many new identities.
Finally I researched and found out that after the Yosemite update outlook would rebuild identity and once you do that there is a mismatch of your email account in outlook which just needs to be deleted and re-added to fix.
Now since then my outlook contacts and apple address book do not speak to each other.
If I make a new contact on my iphone and sync with my mac it will appear in apple address book.
If I make a new contact in outlook it will not appear on the iPhone.
So the phone is communicating and syncing with apple address book but wherever the apple address book goes to find the outlook contacts it must be using one of the older "identities"
Also now when I am in outlook and go from email to contacts it takes about 20 seconds to open the 5,300 contacts and it used to be instant.
Is there a way to view where outlook is getting the data? When I go into Outlook Preferences, Sync Services, "On My Computer:" is the one that is chosen so that should be good.
    Any help?

  • No sync with audio for input files AVI MPEG4 23.976 fps

No sync with audio for input files AVI MPEG4 23.976 fps.
If i open in Premiere Pro CC any file AVI MPEG4 23.976 fps (with internal audio MP3 or AC3) i got growing out of sync from start to end of file, even while play it at internal media player of Premiere Pro CC for source file.
Using external audio files AC3 or MP3 not help.
In properties of source file i see 23.97 fps instead of 23.976 fps, and time of internal file is wrong.
If i try Clip > Modify > Interpreter Footage > custom settings to 23.976 time i see right time, but when i click "OK", custom fps saved as 23.98 fps instead of 23.976 fps and time of source goes wrong again.
So i always get bad sync such files in Premiere Pro CC while play or export them.
But in all media players, other editors, and in PluralEyes sync OK with all such files.
If i open M2TS or MP4 (H264 23.976 fps) source file, all OK, it it shows as 23.976 fps, time is right, and sync OK.
So i want to add automatic detection 23.976 fps instead of 23.97 fps for source AVI files with 23.976 fps.
    Is it possible?

Yes, i know what XviD and DivX does not edit well in Premiere Pro. And because of that i create this topic "No sync with audio for input files AVI MPEG4 23.976 fps" and was hoping to get help in solving the problem, rather than stating that the problem really is.
XviD and DivX it is MPEG4.
Xvid (formerly "XviD") is a video codec library following the MPEG-4 standard, specifically MPEG-4 Part 2 Advanced Simple Profile (ASP).
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xvid
I have many old useful materials in XviD and DivX formats, and have no other formats versions for that material.
XviD and DivX are very compact formats to store video at acceptable quality and it is fully compatible with all players and editors for PC except Premiere Pro.
You suggest to convert them to another format (DV) to make compatible with Premiere Pro... It is not what i want.
    Let me explaine:
    1) Size of files
uploaded AVI XviD 1280x720 file with very good quality have size 1.9Gb (with audio AC3 2.0). If i convert it via VirtualDub from "AVI XviD" to AVI DVCPRO HD 1280x720 (without audio) it have size 35Gb, and quality is worst than at XviD-HD, and also converting take much time.
    2) Compatibility with AC3 and MP3 audio inside AVI
AVI DV / AVI DVCPRO not compatible with AC3 and MP3 audio inside, only with PCM
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DV
AVI XviD and DivX can use AC3, MP3, OGG audio without any problems.
    Size of 1Hour 30Min "AC3 Stereo 48kHz 16bit 384Kbps" file is 257Mb
    Size of 1Hour 30Min "PCM Stereo 48kHz 16bit" file is 1030Mb
    3) I have and use hardware H264 encoder card "Matrox CompressHD" for export my material
    http://www.matrox.com/video/en/products/compresshd/specs/
This card works only from Adobe Premiere Pro, so i can not use it from VirtualDub or other editing software.
So i need a full compatibility Adobe Premiere Pro with all popular standard formats of input files.
    Here we see:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere/extend.html#Supportedvideoformats
    Supported video formats:
"Adobe Premiere Pro CC leads the industry with incredible, thorough native media support, meaning you can edit virtually all of the major video, image, and audio formats natively without waiting."
As most PC users knows, AVI XviD it is a very popular free video format, and would be very useful if Adobe will make normal compatibility with that format in Premiere Pro.

  • How can I sync "On My Mac" iCal calendars on Snow Leopard with iPhone and Google Calendar?

    Hi,
(I've done a lot of searching for a clear answer but without success.)
Can someone please advise how I can get the "On My Mac" calendars on iCal v4.0.4 (running under Snow Leopard 10.6.8) to sync with an iPhone and Google Calendars,  'over the air' (i.e. not via iTunes) and both ways (two-way syncing).
There was a great bit of software called Spanning Sync which did it all but it's now discontinued. I'm running Snow Leopard and do NOT want to upgrade to OS Lion.
I've tried the iCloud route but it just creates an extra set of "@me.com" calendars under the "On My Mac" calendars - it is not syncing the "On My Mac" calendars themselves (and I want to use the "On My MAc" calendars as the master dataset (the 'Truth database' to use an Apple term!).
... And the same happens when I try to sync my Google Calendars: another set of "@google.com" calendars appear.
Now instead of 2 calendars in iCal I have 6: 2 On My Mac calendars, 2 iCloud ones, and 2 Google ones. (This is not progress Apple!)
    Hope someone can advise.
    Many thanks.

Thanks Winston.  I'm aware that the 'on my mac' calendar doesn't get picked up by iCloud.  I'm wondering whether anyone can help with the best alternative solution for synchronisation of phone and Outlook.

  • Syncing more than one Google Calendar with BB?

Now that Google Sync for BB has been discontinued is there a way to sync my 'Other calendars' from Google Calendar to my BB 9900? It will only sync the main calendar (i.e. the one directly linked with my Gmail address).

Do you mean a change to the mail box settings or a change to an e-mail? If the former, it won't change in Outlook if you change it on the iPhone. Whether a change to an e-mail (e.g. a deletion or a move to a folder) also changes in Outlook depends on whether you are using IMAP or POP to connect to your mailbox server. IMAP will keep the mailboxes synchronised all all times. POP will not. If you use POP for multiple mail clients (e.g. Outlook and your iPhone) make sure you choose to leave a copy of e-mails on the server or each message will only transfer to the first client to connect to your mail provider's server. IMAP is much better for the sort of set up you plan to have.

  • How can I map the category in Outlook to ICal for Google Calendar Syncing

I have the syncing working between Outlook 2011 and iCal and Google Calendar; however all my events come in with a category of "No Category" into iCal.  Unless I open iCal and manually change "No Category" to my google calendar it will not sync with Google Calendar.  Does anyone know how I can have the category come from Outlook to iCal and default it to my Google Calendar?

  • I'm having problems with syncing my iphone 4s calendar with google calendar.  google calendar will sync with phone but phone calendar won't sync with google calendar.

I can't get my iphone 4s calendar to sync with google calendar.  I can sync the other way i.e from google to iphone.  Does anyone know how to fix this?

You need to transfer your iTunes library from your old computer to your new computer per the instructions included with this link.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1751
If you don't do this per the instructions included with the link, all iTunes content on your iPhone will be erased with the first sync. If you haven't transferred photos from your old computer to your new, any photos on your iPhone that were transferred from your previous computer will be erased when selecting to transfer any photos from your new computer.
Not sure how cancelling a sync with iTunes and importing photos/videos from the Camera Roll with iPhoto could have an effect on your GPS reception and location services.

  • I've only used my calendar on my Iphone 4. today i selected to sync with icloud for a back up and all my calendar appointments are gone. Help please.

I had a ton of appointments on my calendar well into next year. I thought a back up would be nice so I elected to turn on my icloud for my calendar and everything is gone.. i then turned it off but no luck.. it's all gone.. then i checked my icloud on pc and its blank too...  did i just lose everything??? so not happy right now

    Hello Ronbon13,
Thank you for the details of the calendar issue you are experiencing on your iPhone 4S.  On an iOS device, you can configure previous events to sync to your device in the Calendar settings.
If you go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars, you can set your calendars to sync "All Events" or events ranging from 2 weeks back to 6 months back.
Several settings in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars affect Calendar and your calendar accounts. These include:
Syncing of past events (future events are always synced)
    iPhone - Calendar settings

  • Calendar, notes, reminders no longer syncing with iCloud or Google

24 hours ago for an unknown reason the content of contacts, calender, notes and reminders disappeared.
The contact is still on my ipad and macbook air and in the icloud - just not on my phone.
Not sure why the sync has stopped for just one device.
Any ideas on how I can fix this?

I use gmail for my calender so I sync calender to gmail and icloud. Right now, neither are showing up in calender on iphone.
I did have gmail notes syncing as well as Icloud notes, but turned that off last night in case that was causing the confusion. It hasn't resolved the notes problem.
Any ideas? It does seem a bit odd.

  • Sharing an iCal Calendar with friend's Google Calendar

I have an iCal calendar that I would like to share with my girlfriend who uses Google Calendar and Android :-(
How do I do this ? It looks really complicated.
(I have OS.10.9 on my desktop).
    Thanks for your help.
    Puzzled78

No, unfortunately it does not work this way. The easiest way would be (because she has an Android device and could not access iCloud calendar), if you would also set up a Google account on your devices (iOS and Mac) and then share a calendar via Google. Please see also: http://www.google.com/sync/index.html

  • Sync from ical to Google calendar

Oddly I found this info nowhere on the net. There's lots of advice to sync Google to iCal, but getting the iCal calendars already on your mac synced to Google ? Things become hugely complicated and mostly require 3rd party apps. When in fact it's relatively simple.
    1) Sync Google to iCal. Google based calendars will appear underneath your desktop based calendars in the left hand bar of iCal. Google calendars are synced fine, but your desktop calendars are not, and that is the problem (for the moment).
    2) Select (highlight) one of your desktop calendars. File - Export and save the file somewhere on your Mac.
    3) In Google Calendar (on the internet, not in iCal), create a new calendar and give it the name of the desktop calendar you just exported.
    4) In Google Calendar, choose Import and select the file you created on your Mac. Assign it to the new calendar you created in Google.
Bingo, the calendar now appears in Google under the same name as your desktop. It also reappears a few moments later in iCal (when iCal resyncs with Google) under the Google section in the left hand bar of iCal. BUT all the entries for that calendar now appear double in iCal, once for the desktop version and once for the Google version. So :
    5) Deselect the desktop version (or remove it - you can always reimport the exported file if necessary)
    6) Proceed the same way for the rest of your desktop based calendars.
You now have all your calendars both on Google and iCal (including all past events) and they will remain synced from now on. No third party app required. The only limitation I've seen so far is that you can't create calendar groups (to archive the calendars you no longer need, for example) in Google.
    Hope this helps.

I thought the answer would be CalDav. Publishing your calendars to your server or mobileme. But when I did this nothing showed up in Gcal.

  • Official support for Google Calendar or at least o...

    Hello
I am using the _very_ useful program GCalSync (www.gcalsync.com). It is in early development, but works fine for synchronizing Google calendar with the built-in Nokia Calendar.
I know there are programs for synchronizing with Microsoft Outlook, but not everyone likes or uses that program, so a program that supports open standards would be very nice.
I would like Nokia to support the subscription of XMl/iCal feeds so I at least got one way syncronization.
Is there anyone else out there who needs this?

This sounds like a good idea to me, I've only recently started using Outlook - and only because I wanted to sync the calendar.
You should suggest it to Nokia directly, though this isn't the place to do it oddly enough lol, use the Contact Us link up there ^ or email the idea to [email protected]
I'm sure if enough people here agree with it, and suggest it too, they'll take notice if they haven't already
