Steps to take the certification

Hi, I am angolan and now living in portugal.
Does anyone out there knows where can I take my oracle certification?
I want certification for web and I saw from oracle that I have to take first one
of those pertaining to java se versions.
Do I have to buy it, where?

You could start with the certification tab on http://certview.oracle.com That will help you identify the available certifications and the exams for each certification.

I want to take the Mac Integration Basics 10.8 Exam ( 9L0-408)

Here is the question:
I have created an account with Pearson VUE, but I have no idea where to take it, or what to fill in for the "proctor username and password".
On Apple's site, it states that this exam can be taken with a computer online... without a proctor.
Anyone who had taken this exam... please respond!

This took me a few very frustrating minutes to figure out. If you to go to http://training.apple.com/itpro/macinteg/exam, look at #2 under "Taking your Exam":
"Enter MacIntML in the Private Access code field and then complete the remaining steps to take the exam."
I had to cancel the online exam I had paid for to get a refund, and then go to the home page of your Pearson Vue account. Bottom says "Do you have a Private Access code?" click the + and enter MacIntML. This will take you to the page to purchase the 9L0-408NP - No Proctor version of the exam.
Once paid for I clicked "Begin Exam" and voila, no proctor log in required.

Advice me regarding the certification path for 10g database certification.

I am planning to take the certification for Oracle 10g database Associate, and am confused about the codes of the tests I need to take.
I have following queries:-
1) Is it enough to take 1Z0-042, to take Oracle Certified Associate, certification?
2) Is it necessary to take 1Z0-047 as a support for this certification?
3) Would I be considered for job openings if I get certified? (I mean the frequency of jobs). I know it is hard to answer this question, however I want an idea of applying for certified related jobs that accept OCA.
Please advice me in this regard.

To become OCA you need to do the 1z0-042 exam and one of the following exams: 1z0-007, 1z0-051, 1z0-047.
Becoming certified will put you in front of many people, but what employers are mostly looking for is experience. Many companies require a certification for the person to be even eligible for the interview, others use it as a differential.

Why was the certification exams so restricted at TechEd Bangalore?

I have a question around the eligibility to sit the certification exams in Bangalore. The criteria was:
A fully paid SAP TechEd '06 Bangalore conference registrant as on October 20, 2006; AND
A registered SAP consultant (SAP employee, partner, or independent) in India; OR
An SAP Customer Core Competency Center team member in India; OR
An employee of an SAP partner or customer in India.
As an Australian, visiting from IBM Australia - I met only the first of the eligibility criteria - I was a fully paid registrant. Does this mean the level of certification is different country by country? Did the Las Vegas and Amsterdam Tech Ed's have the same level of restriction?
Any thoughts/insight is greatly appreciated.

As we are discussing SAP certifications, I just thought I'd share a few more rules ( Bizarre rules I must say) of the tech ED B'lore Certifications.
" Every aspirant of the tech ED certification should have had one Year of employment with his current employer and should have atleast 2 years of SAP implementation experience"
In my case, as I joined the SAP world directly after university, I could not meet the rule of "2 years of SAP implementation experience" and was not allowed to take up my XI certification
I guess experience does matter , but what is most surprising is if you take the SAP training on XI, you are allowed to take the certification along with it and in such cases experience doesnt matter!
When Netweaver is a fusion of both the Java and ABAP worlds ( with Webdynpro , EP and even in XI ) the fact that people are still required to have 2 years of SAP experience is not fair.
What this rule implies for all the people who move in from the J2EE world into SAP Netweaver is that you got to work in the technology for 2 years before you qualify for the certification or you attended the training SAP provides and you can take it immediately.
Maybe someone can explain this double standards or the reasoning behind the same?

HT1414 IPHONE 3GS Problems. Updated to IOS6 then says There are just a few more steps to take. Press Continue. Once pressed it says connect to itunes. So plugged the cable in and it does nothing and stays on that screen. How can he fix it?

Hi, My friend has just updated there 3GS to IOS6 and once it's done, 2 screens appear. first one says, Update complete, there are just a few more steps to take. Press continue and another screen comes up with the itunes symbol and the cable and says connect to itunes. Once plugged in, on itunes it reconises the phone and has the loading symbol up, but it doesn't loads anything and can't press anything. Anyone know why and how to resolve this?

The IDE interface that the iBook and your desktop use are the same, just a different plug size. So with the rite adapter you could put the iBooks drive in your desktop, you could even boot off it too.
If you want to install the laptops HD in your desktop this will do it for you. Or you can use the iBooks HD as an external hard drive with this

iMac G5 - you are at the end of the line, though you may be able to upgrade your RAM, or hard drive.
iMac CoreSolo, CoreDuo - you can upgrade to 1 GB of RAM or 2 GB of RAM and get up to 10.6.8.
iMac Core2Duo - you can upgrade to 2 GB of RAM or more and get up to 10.7.2.
Go to Apple menu -> About This Mac to determine which Mac model you have.
Here's what you have to watch out for on 10.6 to 10.6.8.
Here's what you need to watch out for on 10.7 to 10.7.2.
Some stores may not have 10.6 installer CD available, or may not have 10.7 Flash drive available. For those you have to make the purchase from elsewhere,

If it happens again and the reset (home + power buttons) doesn't work, just let the battery drain; you'll know when the screen shuts off. Charge it back up and it should be fine. Frankly, I'm surprised this worked for you. Usually I hear people with this problem say that holding both buttons doesn't work, and they have to do the battery drain.
If the issue is incurable next time, you have a one-year warranty from the date of purchase.

Simple answer is YES.
The only caviat is for instance in the UK some iPads are locked to a specific network provider and therefore if the new iPad is locked then it will only work on the specific network it is locked to.

Shouldn't take more than a few seconds to a minute. If it's stuck, you might want to give Apple support a call to see if they are experiencing unreported server issues. Since your device is new, you are within the 90-day free call support period. You can set up the call here: http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/. You will need your serial number, which is on the box and (I believe) the back of your iPad.

New PC and diff. Drive letter for iTunes (Steps to take, please comment)

I have bought a new PC, and I want to transfer my library to my new pc but the problem is that the Driveletter will be different
(On my Old PC, Music is located on then E: Drive and on New Computer the music will be located on the D Drive)
Now I have the following Idea and I would like to know what the experts here think of it.
(First of course make backups copies of Music and .XML and .ITL files)
On Old PC in iTunes,
- Change Media Folder Location to External Drive (For example Drive Letter G:\)
(Note: "Copy files to itunes media folder ... " is already selected)
- Deauthorize PC
On New PC
- install itunes.
- after installing shutdown iTunes
- Copy Library (.XML & .ITL) from old pc to new pc
- connect External Drive (Make it again Driveletter G:\)
- startup iTunes
- If everything is oke, Change Media Folder Location from External Drive G:\ to Local Drive D:\
- Authorize PC
Am I missing something ?

Sounds like you currently have a split library where the library files are at their default location in your user profile, but the the media folder is on an external/secondary drive. While it is possible to move such a library in the way you describe it may be easier if you can make the library "portable" before you start.
Here are typical layouts for the iTunes folders:
In the layout above, with the media folder (everything in the red box) inside the library folder, the library is considered to be portable. You can rearrange things to make a split library portable by taking a number of small steps which don't break the library.
The basic non-fatal manipulations are:
-> You can connect to an alternate set of library files by holding down Shift (Win) or Option (Mac) when starting iTunes.
-> You can move the library files to a new location as long as the media stays out.
-> You can move the library files and the media together if the media folder is a direct subfolder of the library folder.
-> If you have already moved/copied the media content to a different location then you only need to copy the library files for it to appear as if you have moved the entire library in the way allowed above. I.e. just copy the library files into the parent folder of the media folder.
-> You can rename the media folder to *iTunes Media* (if it isn't already) if the media folder is inside the library folder.
-> iTunes uses the name of the folder holding the library files as the window title. Having made a library "portable" you may need to take a final step of renaming the library folder to iTunes or, if the library files have ended up at the root of a drive, moving all of the library files and content folders into a new folder called iTunes.
After each change you need to open, test and close the relevant library before attempting another change. If a change broke the library, undo it or revert to using the previous set of library files.
In essence all you need to do to make your library portable is copy the library files into the parent folder of the media folder on the external/secondary drive and use the hold-down-option-when-starting-iTunes method to connect to it. Other manipulations may be required to normalize the library so that the library and media folders have standard names.
Once you've made you current library portable you can take a complete clone of the iTunes folder onto your external drive, and then copy that folder into your new computer. Rather than looking at this as a one time proposition you should aim to keep the copy of the library on your external drive as a backup.
*Fast backup for iTunes library (Windows Only)*
Grab SyncToy 2.1, a free tool from MS. This can be used to copy your entire iTunes library (& other important data folders) onto another hard drive or network share. You can then use SyncToy periodically to synchronise or echo your library to the backup. A preview will show which files need to be updated giving you a chance to spot unexpected changes and during the run only the new or updated files will be copied saving lots of time. And if your media is all organised below the main iTunes folder then you should also be able to open the backup library on any system running the same version of iTunes.
Don't forget to deauthorise the old computer if you're not planning to use iTunes on it again.
