Steps to upgrade my Oracle version from 11.1.0.6 to 11.2.0.1 in windows.

Can anyone help me with the steps to upgrade my Oracle version from 11.1.0.6 to 11.2.0.1 in windows.
Thanks in advance.

If you are going to upgrade, you should upgrade to the latest 11gR2 patchset (currently 11.2.0.4). At a high level -
1. Install 11.2.0.4 into a new separate ORACLE_HOME - see MOS Doc 1562139.1 and Contents
2. Apply the latest 11.2.0.4 PSU bundle available for Windows - see MOS Doc 1454618.1
3. Use DBUA to perform the upgrade - MOS Doc 870814.1 and Contents

    Hi Frnz,
We are planning to upgrade the Oracle application from 11.5.10.2 from windows 32 bit to Oracle apps R12 OEL 64 bit.
As I go through the Metalink documents and came to know the below Path to proceed with the R12 upgrade for our scenario (2 phase process).
Phase1 - Upgrade in the source windows OS Machine :
    1)Upgrade the Database to latest version of 11G R2 (11.2.0.1/11.2.0.2) [if 9.2.0.8 to 11gR2, refer metalink note 881505.1 & 1265268.1]
2)Upgrade Application from 11.5.10.2 to R12.1.1 in windows Machine
3)Upgrade Application from R12.1.1 to R12.1.3 in windows Machine
Phase2 - Migration Process from windows to Linux:
1)Migrate R12.1.3 Application from *32bit windows to OEL 64bit*. (I could not found the exact document for this Cross Platform Migration)
    Note:
As per the metalink note, we identified that, Oracle 11.5.10.2 Application will not support for the 64bit Linux.
    Reference:
Migrating to Linux with Oracle Applications Release 11i [ID 238276.1]
Migrating Oracle E-Business Suite R12 from Linux 32-bit to Linux 64-bit [ID 471566.1]
Kindly suggest the upgradation Path to upgrade the Oracle application from 11.5.10.2 from windows 32 bit to Oracle apps R12 OEL 64 bit.

My moto is to install Oracle DB 10.2.0.4 but i didn't find that vesion of DB. so i installed 10.2.0.3 and now wanted to upgrade it to 10.2.0.4. Please redirect me to proper documentation or patch that will help me.
Is there 10.2.0.4 setup directly insted of upgrading from previous version??

    Hi,
Case 1) On top of Oracle Database 10.2.0.3 directly install and apply the patch for Oracle database 10.2.0.4 provided with Database ORACLE_HOME and SYS password parameters at the patch installation time.
Case 2) If you installed only Database software from 10.2.0.3 to 10.2.0.4, using dbua utility you can upgrade the database version.

  • Upgrade NI Configurator version from 3.2 to 3.2.3

Hello, I upgrated my NI Configurator version from 3.2 to 3.2.3. Now , when a FF device is coming through the bus which is imported per EDD the Configurator crashes. When the device is imported per a simple DD everything works fine. In Version 3.2 also EDD based devices work also fine. What is to do?How can I go back to version 3.2 because of the licensenumber?

    Hello Peter,
Could you let me know the device model? NI-FBUS 3.2 and 3.2.3 use different DDS version. 3.2 support DDS 5.0 and 3.2.3 supports DDS 5.0.5.
It seems that the problem is on the different DDS version.
You can go back to 3.2 by simply removing 3.2.3 and install 3.2 again. 3.2.3 is a free upgrade, so these two version use the same license.

  • Upgrade to Oracle 9i from Oracle 8.1.6 database

I suppose you have read this question many times, but I can't find the correct answer.
Is there some document or URL address to upgrade a Oracle Database 8.1.6 to Oracle 9i?
Where can I read about this topic?
    Thanks in advance,
    Patty

    Raghvendra,
If you are still trying on this one, and haven't yet been successful, try out this. Get your 9i database exactly as how it was before you began any of the imports. I mean keeping the SYSTEM tablespace and the other defaults like USERS, TOOLS, TEMP, etc drop all others if they weren't there originally. Next take a good report of the DBA_TABLESPACES table with all vital information like TABLESPACE_NAME, INITIAL_EXTENT, NEXT_EXTENT, MAX_EXTENTS, etc and on the 9i database create the extra ones just as in 8 version. As for the ones already there in 9i like the SYSTEM, change its parameters to facilitate bigger values if required as in 8 version or maybe go with the recommendations as in Oracle documentation for the 9i migration.
Once this is done, why don't you post your import script here so that we can look at it and suggest you furthermore, perhaps?

  • Upgrade to Oracle 10gR2 from 8i

Hello, i'm going to install Oracle 10gR2 on Sun Solaris SPARC64 and i have to migrate user schema and related application software in Pro*C language.
Which are the issues to consider in order to avoid compilation errors and/or run time errors.
    Thanks for your help.

Direct upgrade to 10g is possible from the latest 8i version (8.1.7.4). In case you are below this patch level, first you must upgrade to this and then upgrade to 10g.
In case 32 bit conversions are involved, you must consider the utlip.sql script which must be run during the upgrade phase.
I suggest you to read Metalink Note 316889.1 where a Complete checklist for manual upgrades to 10gR2 is detailed.

From the trace files, we see that the issue is with the seeded view, mrp_item_sourcing_levels_v.
Need pointers for fixing the performance.

The ETRM says this about the view:
***** Warning: Oracle Internal Use Only *****
Oracle Corporation does not support access to Oracle
applications data using this object, except from standard Oracle Applications programs.
which is a powerful suggestion that you should not be addressing this view directly. Looking at the source code for the view, it has a bunch of UNIONs that may prevent view merging, and all the queries have loads of hints coded within them. So really, there is little you can do about this.
It looks pretty simple to re-write your query to avoid addressing this view, you are using it only to retrieve a couple of columns. If you look at the source code for the view you'll see that you can get them easily without going through the view.
