STERAM I MOVIE TO XBOX 360

If i had a 1080p camcorder either dv or sd
could i create a file in imovie09 or quicktime that i could stream to the xbox
i imagine it would have to be m4v or mp4
whats the best quality file i could get from the imac-xbox-hdtv

The Apple 23" is 1920 x 1200. You are sending it only 1920 x 1080, so there are 120 lines missing. 1920 x 1080 is not a supported resolution, so you are lucky that it worked at all. The supported resolutions (1920 x 1200, 1280 x 800, and 1024 x 640) are 16:10 ratios. 1920 x 1080 is 16:9. To fill the screen it would have to crop the sides of the image or distort the image by stretching it vertically. The other options are to leave a blank stripe at the top, leave a blank stripe at the bottom, or leave smaller blank stripes at the top and bottom.
You seem to be getting the best you can without distortion, or losing part of the image.

  • Can't get Xbox 360 Media Center Extender to work

I am using Windows 7 Ultimate x64.  This is a retail copy.  I had previously set up Windows Media Center and successfully set up my Xbox 360 as a Media Center Extender.
After a long hiatus of using Windows Media Center, I went to watch a movie in my media library through my Xbox 360.  It would appear to initially connect and then show the Windows Media Center loading screen and say "Contacting..."  After about 30 seconds, it would display an error asking me to make sure my Windows Media Center PC is turned on (it is).  I ran the Windows Media Center network test in the Xbox 360 and it tested fine.
I attempted to delete the Media Center Extender in WMC and set it up again, but it always fails with an error "An error was encountered while configuring your computer for use with this Extender" at the part where it says "Configuring your Extender".
I looked in the Event Viewer under the Media Center section and found event ID 543:

I also tried turning off the Windows firewall on the Windows Media Center PC, but this had no effect on the outcome.  I also tried deleting the Microsoft Windows Media Center Extender Host certificate and restarting the Network List Service, but these steps to did nothing to fix the issue.
I am using the same computer with the same NIC with the same Ethernet cable with the same SOHO router (Linksys WRT54GL) with the same Xbox 360.  Any advice would be welcome at this point.

  • I would like to know how to take the music I have ripped from my cd collection , on to my xbox 360 hard drive, and put it on my ipad

I have quite a few CDs that I have ripped to the hard drive of my xbox 360, and I would like to figure out how to load them on my ipad. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

iTunes: How to move [or copy] your music to a new computer [or another drive] - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527
Quick answer if you let iTunes manage your music:  Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive.  Start iTunes with the option (shift on Windows) key held down and guide it to the new location of the library.

  • What do I need to make my iMac + xbox 360 hook up to my current router

I need to find a way to make my iMac wireless and don't know what would be best for my set up. I have cable broadband through a rca router, which then hooks up to my vonage phone device, which then connects to my linksys WRT150N which has an emachines pc through ethernet and a sony laptop wireless connected to it. I want the iMac, which is downstairs to be hooked up to the internet wirelessly if possible and my son also has a wireless adapter for his XBOX 360 that he wants to use as well. I know this sounds tres' complicated and I have given lots of information here but if anyone knows what I should get for this situation, I would be most appreciative! Airport of some sort? Third party stuff that's compatible? I am so confused!

Achieving data rates of 54 Mbps requires that all users have an AirPort Extreme Card and connect to an AirPort Extreme Base Station. If a user of a Wi-Fi Certified 802.11b product joins the network, that user will get up to 11 Mbps and AirPort Extreme users will get less than 54 Mbps. Actual speed will vary based on range, connection rate, site conditions, size of network and other factors.
imac specification I am guessing your imac g4 is usb 2 and requires an airport extreme wireless card.
The xbox360 wireless adaptor should be able to connect to your router.
To enable the imac to stream photos, movies, music to xbox360 you'll need a piece of software called Connect360. you get that here: http://www.nullriver.com/products/connect360
I'll give you my network setup if yours fails.
Two Apple Extreme N routers, First router hardwired to cable modem and the "bridged" second apple router. The first router also has a HP laserjet 24/7 connected to its usb port and one more hardwire to a pc laptor downstairs(no wireless card in the piece of crap windows machine). Second router hard waired to Vonage and an Apple Express router which I set up to create its own network. The xbox360 upstairs wirelessly connects to the Apple Express. I also have apple TV wireless to first apple Extreme router. Everything works fine and network is extremely fast.

  • Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro + Xbox 360

    #Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro + Xbox 360? My xbox360 audio setup:
Xbox360 - Optical audio out - Dolby Digital 5. / Dolby Digital with WMA / Digital Stereo
Cable - Meter Fiber Optic cable audio Cable
Input - SPDIF/Optical-IN on Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro External Dri've
    Decoder - Creative Built-in Dolby Digital/DTS SPDIF-In Decode @ 48/96KHz
    Speakers - Creative Inspire T7700 7.
OS: Windows XP/Vista with Latest Creative drivers.
    Concern:
1 - Whenever Xbox starts up - i have to remove the cable and replug it in for the sound to start coming.
2 - If i play any video or movie - there is no audio heard and after the movie ends - i have to reconnect the audio cable for the system sounds to return. (this does not apply to in-game FMV)
3 - Sound breaks and cracks in some games during multiple loud audio scenes. Such as in Forza3 - a car crash would cause cracking/breaking sound.
Overall most games run fine - I just dont know why no audio is heard when a movie is played! I've tried all different audio setups on the 360 but nothing works (WMA makes cracking worse)
    Whats the cause and cure?

    Problem solved.
    Uninstall/Reinstall SP3 did the job

  • Xbox 360 and nas storage for streaming media

    Hi there,
I have an xbox 360 and watch movies on it through my network that are stored on my home PC, this means that I have to have my home PC on whenever I want to watch a movie. What I would like to do is have a NAS storage device that I can store all my movies on that is on the same notwork so that I can then watch the movies on my xbox without the need for the PC being on. Obviously I would want the NAS to be seen by the computer's I have on my network also.
I way thinking about getting this item Western Digital - My Book Live 1TB External Home Network Drive - Black but am not sure if the xbox will see it? or is there a better solution for around the same price which is expandable?
    Thanks.

You'd have to get a real home or business NAS product to stream to the 360 and those are not in the same price range as the product you are looking at.

  • XBox 360 HD-DVD with iMac

I'm using my HD-DVD drive from my XBox 360 to watch movies on my iMac when booting into Windows. I use Cyberlink's PowerDVD (only player I know that supports Blu-Ray and HDDVD)
It works fine, except for 2 things...
1.) When I was running Windows Vista Ultimate, the movie Beowulf would cause the system to crash when I would play the movie (the menu would play perfectly, but once I chose to play the movie, I get a blue screen with driver problems with my video driver)
2.) Since I couldn't run the movie with Windows Vista, I installed Windows XP Pro... the movie plays perfectly now (video resolution asks you to switch to 1920x1080, from 1920x1200. BUT!!! I cannot have my HD-DVD drive plugged into the USB port when starting the iMAC because the system gets stuck on the gray screen. If I remove the USB connection and turn on the iMac, it boots up fine.
So does anyone know any fixes or workarounds between these 2 issues?
P.S. HD movies look AWESOME on this 24" iMac.

According to a report posted here, someone connected an XBox 360's HD-DVD drive to a Mac's USB port and it was recognized. If you're intending to connect it to a Mac with PCI slots and running OS 10.2.8 or newer, you can and should install a USB 2.0 card. A card having an NEC controller chip will be more Mac-compatible than others. If you plan to connect it to a Mac without USB 2.0 upgrade capability, using the onboard USB 1.1 bus will be limiting. I've got an external Pioneer DVD±RW USB drive, but I've never tried connecting it to my B&W G3's onboard USB 1.1 port to read DVD data disks (I connect it to the USB 2.0 PCI card). Try it and see what happens - you can't damage anything. In addition to the Mac's CPU speed and graphics capabilities, playing a DVD game would require a faster bus than USB 1.1. Hopefully, you can install a USB 2.0 PCI card and enjoy optimal performance.

  • Is there a way to hook up a xbox 360 to a macbook pro?

Is there a way to hook up a xbox 360 to a macbook pro? I'm about to move to college and I don't have a tv but I want to play my xbox if its possible.

I have an E-Bay Cheap mouse (Speedlink) and a PCWorld cheap keyboard (Advent) both connected at the same time.
These both connected at the same time when first installed - but on subsequent connections one is required to be deleted and re-added.
Have you tried connecting one, deleting the other and then re-pairing?

  • Connecting to xbox 360

Hi. When connecting my 3rd gen nano to my xbox 360 I am able to access my music but not any downloaded movies. Upon reaching the tab to select movies from an external device, the option is not highlighted thus preventing me from doing anything. I have fished around in the music menu but have found nothing. Any help would be appreciated. Btw, I have the most current update on Apple software etc. Thx

But using it for music should work, right? That's my main concern.
My entire music library is in iTunes, where it's going to stay because I find it's superior (in my opinion) to the WMP system...plus I'll be getting a Mac someday soon, so I want to be prepared.

  • Replacing Apple TV with Xbox 360, Video Questions

I have had an ATV for a little over a year and thanks to Handbrake I now have an incredible Movie Library over 600 flicks ripped for ATV with the .m4v extension. This month I am getting an Xbox 360 and would like to use it in place of my ATV and move the ATV to another room. I have been doing my research and everything says I should use Connect 360 or Rivet to make contact between my iMac and Xbox 360. Though I have read that movies with the extension .m4v will not read. I have read on various sites that I could just change the extension to .mp4 or .avi and it will work fine. Though alot of the data out there on connect 360 and Xbox 360 streaming seems to be outdated and I can't tell what has been fixed by updates. so... my questions are,
    1. Will my movies stream to xbox 360 via connect 360 in the .m4v format?
2.If no, can I just change the extension to .mp4 or .AVI? (I changed the extension from .MP4 to .m4v on some movies when I got the ATV due to some recognition issues in itunes last year and had no problem)
    3. If I change the extensions will my ATV still be able to play these videos from elsewhere in the house?
    4. Will it all just work flawlessly with no problems thanks to amazing updates from all parties?

I wanted a next gen game system. Part of the way I could convince my wife to let me get an xbox (Im whipped) was to offer to move the ATV to the bedroom so she could view our media in there. Since the Xbox has media center qualities I figured I would take atvantage of them. Now I trying to figure out the best way to get both working.

  • Ps3 and Xbox 360 already asked many times but no solution works

    Hi,
first of all I'd like to share with all of you my real disappoint for having bought this Airport Extreme Base Station. I really hope that someone at Apple will read my post and come to my house because I would have just a few words to tell them.
After 4 years of proficuous cooperation my Netgear WI-Fi router left me and I immediately thought to replace it with an Apple product just to be sure that it would have been easy to install and on top of performances.
I chose the Airport Extreme which is much more expensive than quite all the other same product but I didn't care about it because I would have brang home an excellent product.....or...at least I thought it !
Once in my room the soap opera began. I'm not a genius but I consider myself a medium skilled user and, in any case, even it is not my real job, I configured many bigger LANs than my personal ones and I never had such kidn of problem.
I read many posts where people were asking for information because they couldn't connect their Airport Extreme to their PS3 or Xbox 360 but I never had such kind of problem. It really worked immediately and both consoles worked in few moments.
My REAL problem is that both of them are terribly slow and I can't do anything online. I can't see streming videos, I can't play online and I can't neither play videos that are on a LAN DLNA server !!!!! It takes about 35 seconds to play a video and some times it has to stop for empty buffering reason. This is really unacceptable.
I tried so many configurations and nothing changed and I also took a look at some guides but they had been written with old firmwares so they are quite unuseful for me.
After having asked a friend of mine to give me his router (a Netgear ones) for some days I finally made myself sure that the problem is the Airport Extreme.
It also has a very poor signal because my iPhone has difficulties to keep the connection in areas where my old router worked fully.
If only I could turn back time I'd never buy it again but now, having spent to useless my money, could you please let me know a working configuration for the latest firmware 7.4.2 ? I tried to use the previous firmware but I have the same problems.
There is only a wall separating the Airport Extreme from the PS3 and Xbox and both of them get a 100% of signal but I really don't know what to do.
Thanks for all the help you could provide me.
    Bye.
    Christian

Sorry but I have no way to measure the actual throughput for any of my devices (I have 2 Xboxes which have the same problem and even my iPhone suffer of a bad connection).
In any case I really can't understand why the connection is so bad. I can even get in touch with my ISP to ask them if there is some problem with the connection (maybe a coincidence and the Airport Extreme has nothing to do with it ?????) but the facts remain: even my DLNA server and PS3 connection is slow and I can't clearly see the movies I have in my intenal LAN and also the iPhone show a poor connection to the Airport Extreme and it is because of the Extreme for sure.
I really don't know what to do.

  • Xbox 360 Wireless Control not working in W7 x64

    Hey all,
I have read some topics in here about issues on a Xbox 360 Wireless Control connection in Windows 7 x64 (I'm on a Dell Inspiron n5110, 6gb ram, intel core i5). Thing is, in difference to all those threads, in my devices list there ain't any "unrecognized
devices" nor anything, so all the solutions listed don't work for me.
    What I have done:
    1) Installed the Accesories 1.2 for Windows 7 x64
    2) Plugged the receiver to my usb (it got detected by windows, recognized and listed properly in the devices and printers, as a wireless receiver)
    3) Turned the controller on, hitted the sync button on the receiver, then on the control... and I get a eternal green blink around the Xbox button, which never ends nor stays in one of the quadrants.
As I don't see nothing like "unidentified device" in the device admin, I simply can't use the "update drivers" stuff. What can I do, what am I doing wrong?
    Thanks in advance...

    Hi,
I would suggest you to follow these steps and check if the issue is resolved:
    1. Verify that the accessory is an officially licensed Xbox 360 wireless accessory.
    2. Examine or replace the batteries to make sure that you have fully charged the  batteries in the Xbox 360 wireless accessory.
    3. Move the receiver away from other devices that could interfere with the wireless communication between the receiver and the Xbox 360 wireless accessory.
Note: Devices such as wireless routers, cordless telephones, and microwave ovens can generate wireless interference.
    4. If you are using a wireless keyboard or mouse, disconnect the keyboard or mouse and reconnect the the wireless gaming receiver. Then try reconnecting your Xbox 360 wireless device to the PC.
Also, you may try uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers for controller in device manager and check if this helps.
If the problem persists, then please contact Xbox support for further assistance. Here’s the link:

  • Connecting Xbox 360 to B540 through RF socket?

I am on a mission to connect an Xbox 360 to my B540 which does not have any inputs such as HDMI or even AV.  My options seem to be using a video capture card or a RF Modulator/Adaptor (since the machine does have an aerial socket for the built-in TV Tuner to receive signals).
The video capture card route is a no-go area because of the lag effect in actually playing games, so I have decided upon getting a RF Modulator or RF adaptor to do the job.
My question is has anyone connected an Xbox 360 or other game console to a Lenovo B540 (or similar screen with only RF input) using this method? What was the image quality like? I know the outdated RF signal gives poor image quality on older, non-digital, TVs, but I  wonder if there would be an improvement on this with the B540's HD screen...
Another image quality related question is, are general RF Modulators better for my purpose than the all-in-one RF adaptors sold specifically for converting game console video to RF?
    Thanks.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Thanks again caveman, but I'm not trying to control the game console by connecting its controllers to the B540, I'm trying to output the video image from console onto the B540 screen via a RF modulator (since RF is the only video input connection on my B540). Therefore the game controllers need only be supported by the xbox itself
Anyway I took a chance and got it to work! The resulting video quality is only standard definition and sound is mono, but since I'm an unfussy, occasional gamer with no burning desire to buy a new tv just to play videogames, it is an acceptable fix and the B540 HD screen definitely helps to display the limited RF video signal to best effect. Of course, life would be much easier if my B540 actually had a HDMI in connection, but I digress...
    Here's how I did it...
    1) You can get an RF adaptor specifically made for game consoles, but from what I gather they provide poor image quality, even for RF. So I took a chance and picked up a Programmable Universal Modulator from Maplins (£29.99) which is used more generally to connect video devices to older TV's that only have RF aerial sockets.
    2) The composite lead from the 360 goes into the modulator box, which connects to the B540 screen with a regular coaxial aerial cable. Then I opened the AverMedia TV Player software, went into Analog settings and configured the signal type to cable. Did an analog channel scan and found the xbox picture.
    3) As you can see in the screen grabs*, the fullscreen image needs slight horizontal adjustment but everything is visible and there are no cut offs. The Windows 8 desktop bar also appears across the bottom of the screen. I have yet to figure out how to get rid of it.
You can also resize the game window to have picture-in-picture on the screen if you prefer. Very handy for multi-tasking, haha!
Getting an Xbox 360 to work with my B540 took an evening of trial and error. The results are not without quirks. As mentioned, the picture and sound quality is obviously not as good as HD. Furthermore, if you try removing and replacing the coaxial cable while the xbox and PC are connected it can result in image glitching and a one or two second delay between controller input and on-screen movement. So don't mess with the cable after tuning in.

  • Correct FCE export settings for full HD on XBOX 360?

    Hey everyone! Help!!!
I just bought an excellent Sony HDR-XR500V camera, which has a large sensor and shoots at a marvelous full 1080 resolution. Directly from my camera into the Bravia TV, it looks amazing.
I want to be able to watch the video file through my Xbox 360, but have no idea what export settings to use in FCE. I've been experimenting with Mpeg4 settings, but am fuzzy on the kbps.... I think my camera is capable of shooting 6.2 mbps... so what should I put?
I also thought of just exporting to Quicktime Movie and then converting to WMV on my PC, but Quicktime on my PC is unable to play the Quicktime Exported Movie that FCE produced. Does that make sense? I don't see a way to convert it.
Anyway, any thoughts would be helpful!
    Thanks!
    Marcus

The Easy Setup should always match the format of the footage you shot, as should the Sequence setting. The Canon shoots HDV, so [you need to read this first|http://documentation.apple.com/en/finalcutpro/professionalformatsandworkf lows/#chapter=2%26section=0].
With the correct settings make the best quality master file that the material will allow. This file can then be used for a variety of delivery formats, should you choose to show it in places other than on the web.
To make your web video, use a H264 web preset in Compressor. If you need to deliver a Flash file for the web, rename the H264 movie's file extension to .flv -in most cases it will work fine.
