Stereo 3D output solution?

Greetings,
I'm interested in stereo 3D content production via Adobe After Effects, but would like to be able to preview on the same computer/monitor. I'm working in OSX, but am not opposed to rebooting to Win 7 when I need to preview in 3D, if need be.
Has anyone been successful with using any 3rd party "middleware" to allow stereo 3D output to a 3D-ready monitor using the Radeon 5870 in either OSX or Bootcamp?
I'm also holding off on buying a new monitor for this system until I can find a solution, since they 3D-ready monitor may need to be specific to the solution.
Any info would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Brian

the high end nVidia Quadro 4000 card has 3D stereo output support. You may want to check the nVidia web site (things like the Quadro product pages or the developer/community web boards) for more info. The card is just starting to ship this week, but there may be feedback from testers, nVidia staffers, and others more familiar with the process.
Good luck!

Does anyone know what the analogue stereo audio output from the new Mac Pro is? From the specification, there appears to be a stereo output for headphones, but it is unclear what other audio outputs are available and whether a stand-alone amplifier is required to drive small stereo speakers. It is line-level. You will need powered speakers or an amplifier.

  • K7N2 Delta ILSR - PCM Stereo Digital output - How ?

    Hello Folks,
Can any of you give me some advice on how to get a Linear PCM, straight Stereo Digital output from my ILSR via the 'S' Bracket.
I would like to link my Computer with my Hi-Fi via a Rotel Hi-Fi Stereo DAC. I've tried both DVD-V's, and normal CD's but my Hi-Fi DAC doesn't see a signal from the computer. I know that the DAC works fine, and also that my Cable is OK  as I've tested both using my Sony DVD player. I can see red light out the Toslink port , whether this is a coded digital signal or just always there though i don't know , ( I'm still waiting for an Optical cble of the correct length to be delivered).
Does the nVIDIA software/chipset only put out dolby digital or surround sound outputs via the 2 'S'Bracket digital outs??
nVIDIA website seemed to offer no tech support of this nature and the MSI e-mail support directed me here first...
    Many thanks if anybody knows.

  • Split Stereo Channel Output into Left & Right

Is there a way to split the output of stereo channel strip (in this case, consisting of an EXS24 sampler, with some samples panned hard left) into two mono channels strips, auxes, or outputs (left and right)? For example, in Pro Tools you can select "Track > Split into Mono" to split a stereo track into two mono tracks, and control each resulting track independently. I'm talking about signal path, not splitting a saved AIFF or sound file. Is there a way to do this within Logic?

Route the output to a bus, then create two new aux channels and assign their inputs to that bus. At that point, you'll be getting the full stereo output routed to each of your two new channels. To split left and right, click-hold on the mono/stereo button at the bottom of the aux channels, and select "left" on one and "right" on the other.
    That should do it!

  • After OS Upgrade, System Preferences won't recognize stereo jack output.

When I got an iPhone, I had to upgrade to OS 10.5.8, as well as upgrade Safari (to 4.0.3) and iTunes (to 9.0.1).
Since I went though the motions last week with these upgrades, System Preferences doesn't want to recognize when I plug in the output jack for my stereo.
I hook up my computer to my stereo all the time to listen to music in the living areas of my apartment, and now I can't because it isn't reading the jack.
Any suggestions? How can I get the system to fix this problem?

Obviously, I know it has to do with my computer.
The reason I posted in the iPhone forum is because I am sure there are many other people who have had to upgrade software on their iMac to support the iPhone, and have subsequently had the same audio loss I have.
Apparently, such relevance is lost on you, although I'm not sure how it could be;-)
Thanks for your concern, in any case.

  • How can I get Audition 3 to record my Stereo Mix output in Vista?

Under the Control Panel Ive set the Stereo Mix as the default recording selection, and can record my sound output in Sound Recorder. However, these are bad quality WMA files at 96khz.

Is there a way to fix it? Would an uninstall/reinstall work?

  • Stereo Video Output! possible?

    Hi,
I have been asked to look into the possibility of producing a dual video display. Mounted opposite each other each screen is to depict a person that converses with the person on the opposite screen. Effectively showing both sides of the same conversation and allowing users who move through the space between the screens to "overhear" the conversation.
Now as I see it there are a couple of ways of doing this... two players each running a screen would be the simplest... but the possibility for going out of sync with each other makes me think that this is not the best option.
So what I want to do is run both the screens from a single source (a PC) and provide 2 video streams... similar in principle to right and left stereo audio but with video.
The question is... has this been done before? Is there a piece of software (Final Cut Pro?) that will let me build the program I want to 'dual broadcast'.
Any advice would be gratefully received.
    Cheers

    Cheers guys
Extra wide movie would seem the easiest option...
But if I wanted to go down the other road, could you suggest a dual signage tool?
Are such things commercially available? And how would that affect the editing of video for the end product presentation.
At the moment I'm working with Adobe Premier Pro making short films / digital stories in a health / social care context... I'm not really a "full-time" film maker and I appreciate a little hand holding to get me moving in the right direction
Cheers for your input so far

  • Mono and stereo audio output

I had to do a recovery on my HP Pavilion A6603w.  I set up my HP supplied RealTek HD Audio manager for a four speaker system, as before and did the Realtek tests which went fine.  It sounds great just as before the recovery when I am playing stereo music.  The odd thing is, when I am listening to something over the web which isn't stereo, or anything generated by the computer in mono, it now only comes out of the front speakers (located in the monitor) whereas before the recovery, even mono came out of all four speakers.  Is this really how the machine is supposed to work or is there a way to make mono audio come out of all four speakers?
    Chris

The key here is telling "Windows" that you are have a 5.1 speaker setup. If you are getting 5.1 sound from your DVD software player or games, etc... but Windows sounds are only coming from the front two speakers, then you have to Windows that you want to use 5.1. For the encorporated Realtek driver, you should be able to select the Speakers icon in Sound Properties and then click the configuration button to get to a Speaker setup screen.
To get the Configure button to be active, the speakers icon has to be selected (in blue) - not just set to default.
What you are talking about is the Realtek HD Sound Manager software. You should leave all the speaker selections checked on the left. But these settings are treated as separate and enable sound throughput at a lower (?) level. The Vista configuration setting simply tells Windows to send Windows Audio through 5.1 channels instead of stereo (default).
... an HP employee expressing his own opinion.
Please post rather than send me a Message. It's good for the community and I might not be able to get back quickly. - Thank you.

  • What audio interfaces for iPad are there that give stereo outputs?

I've had persons tell me that an iPad is not good to use as you would a computer in DJing because it can't do split stereo outputs. I was thinking that perhaps an audio interface that connects through the dock might fix that. Can anyone give me a list of such interfaces?

    DJ Arctic wrote:
From what I understand, most headphone splitters (like the Griffin DJ Cable) split the stereo track into two mono tracksone for pre-cueing, one for what the audience hears.
Note that the Griffin DJ Cable does not fall into the same category as "most headphone splitters". It is made specifically with a stereo/mono output for the algoriddim djay app.
This is one of the mono output cables you would need to specifically hunt down.
    DJ Arctic wrote:
If you know of a headphone splitter that doesn't do that, but gives two stereo channels, I'd be glad to take a look at it.
All of these are single stereo to double stereo outputs -> Headphone splitters
Ask for a headphone splitter in just about any store (Walmart, Best Buy, Target, 7-11) and you'll get what you want.

  • Iphone output to home stereo

I am not able to output from my iphone to my home stereo via output jack, but was able to do so with a Sony mp3 player. Does Iphone require apple products to output to, such as ipod stuff?

Hi...I am new to this whole posting thing, but have been an avid reader for awhile. I too am having difficulties with the whole iphone to stereo concept. I bought the Belkin cord from the Apple store, but still seem to be unable to get any music to come out of my stereo. So, what could I be doing wrong? I have connected cord from both the iphone and from cradle's line out jack, and then connect the other end to stereo through the headphone jack. The headphone jack is the ONLY port on the stereo that seems to fit the belkin. No input jacks to be found. Do I need to do like iTrip radio stations in the iPhone, or did I just waste money on this cord? Please help. I am so frustrated. All I want to do is enjoy my music OUT LOUD! Thanks.

  • Using all 3 analog jacks for stereo output on xfi extreme aud

Hi guys, hoping you can help. I know that you can hook up two devices and use a 4. configuration with stereo surround but is it possible to have 3 devices hooked up (sixphonic instead of quadraphonic...does that make sense?). I have jack to my headphone amp, jack 2 going to my computer speakers and was hoping that jack 3 could be used for speakers in another room.
    cheers,?

I don't know the card you have there but normally by setting
    - speaker mode to 6. and
    - CMSS to stereo surround
should do the job --> all stereo pairs outputs the same audio as stereo then. Check from the User's Guide of your card, if you need some special jackplugs there.
It's even possible to stream audio from two or three separate playback software to separate output channels by using ASIO and WDM/KS capable playback software in combination + above mentioned settings.
AFAIK, your card does not supportASIO nati'vely so your only choice is to use WDM/KS but, as there aren't audio player that suppors WDM/KS as needed (Foobar, Winamp, MediaMonkey as for an example supports WDM/KS through output plugins but there's no channel mapping available). By using ASIO4ALL, you might want to try this but unfortunately, you need to find two or three nati'vely ASIO capable software for playback (some players may allow you to run multiple copies as separate players.
Nati've Instruments BeatPort Player (maybe not available anymore) and SYNC can be used,
Foobar 0.9.x -> supports ASIO channel mapping but, I don't know if this mapping works just as neded like it does on those nativly ASIO capable software.

  • In Logic Pro, how do I record a stereo mix of my project?

I want to have a tape delay plug-in kick in on the last beat of the song, with a high feedback setting so that last note repeats synced to the beat, and fades out slowly. I have everything tweaked so it sounds just like I want it to if I manually turn on the delay one beat before the last note. Obviously, if i bounce down to  stereo mix normally the effect won't turn on. So the first question is:
    1. How can I automate this process so it shows up in the bounce?
If there's no way to do that, then:
    2. How do I take the stereo mix  output of my project and record it in real time?
    Thanks for your time.
    Larry

Hey, Pancenter and Ahrensof, thanks for your help. I briefly tried what you suggested, and probably it would have worked with a different delay. Being  a well-modeled tape delay, suddenly changing the parameters produces artifacts. Then, before I had really spent much time with your ideas, I realized there was a hardware solution. The interface I use, an RME Fireface UFX, has a secondary recording system that records to a Fat 32 USB stick or drive. So I played back the project using the main interface system, clicked the delay on/off switch at the right point manually, and recorded it on the USB system. It worked perfectly.
I suspect that both your solutions would have worked had I spent enough time with them, so I'm going to try to click "solve" on both. I hope the forum software lets me do that. (It didn't. Sorrry Ahrensof, but I gave you a "This helped" and a "like.")
    Thanks again.

  • Audio sync problem - simultaneous HDMI and analog output

I'm currently running my audio out through my Geforce 460 via HDMI to my A/V receiver. I have a simultaneous stereo analog output running through my ASUS Xonar D2, using Pulseaudio & Amarok as the player (VLC-gstreamer backend).
I use the HDMI and A/V receiver to power my main stereo in my living room, but on occasion when I want music around the house, I use the analog line out to send audio to an FM transmitter.
The problem is, I'm running into audio sync problems. The audio starts out synchronised (at least to the naked ear) but within 20-30 seconds it is noticeably out of sync, with the analog audio (form my FM radio) running around a half second ahead of the HDMI output (my main speakers).
So - where to begin finding where the sync problem is? The receiver? Conversions between 44Khz and 48Khz?
Any help much appreciated - google-foo hasn't turned up anything obvious so far.

Yeah - that was my thought - a very difficult, and probably insoluble problem as it stands. I can't just mute one of the devices as that would defeat the purpose of having multi-room music! Fortunately it's not too noticeable usually, as you can't usually hear the main stereo and the FM radios at the same time, unless you're standing in the right part of the house
The analog splitter cable not really a goer, since running clean, crisp multi-channel HDMI with pass through when needed is the essential goal of the HTPC. So unless I was to switch inputs and or unplug cables...
What I will end out doing, in the absence of a software solution, is hooking the FM transmitter directly to my receiver. I was going to just use the headphone-out jack of the receiver to feed audio to the FM transmitter, but the stoopid receiver can't output audio to external speakers at the same time as the headphone is plugged. To overcome this, I'll probably run a headphone amp off the receiver's RCA outputs, into the FM transmitter. Like this one: http://headamp.com/portable_amps/ae2/, or this one: http://www.amazon.com/Rolls-HA43-Headph … B00102ZOQC

  • Pulseaudio rapidly automatically switches output ports

I have been having this issue for quite a long time now. When louder sound plays I hear choppy output. When that happens, I can see that in pavucontrol -> Output devices -> "Built-in Audio Analog Stereo" -> "Port:" selection rapidly switches between Headphones and Analog output. When output is loud, it selects Analog output and when it's more silent, it switches to Headphones. Since happens very fast and because "Analog output" and "Headphones" have different output levels, I get choppy sound. So how do I make pulseaudio not switch between ports? I am thankful that pulseaudio cares about my ears, but I'd prefer if it didn't.
One solution is to set both "Headphones" and "Analog Stereo" to same level, but I don't think it's an elegant solution. Another way to stop this is to set output less than ~80%, but this isn't acceptable either.
I use headphones btw, and default output device Port is "Headphones" in pavucontrol.
    P.S. Issue also described here.

OK I got this problem back, it happens with rear port as well.
In pavucontrol -> Configuration tab I have 2 controllers:
"High Definition Audio Controller", which I guess is my nvidia card output which I don't use anyways, and It doesn't do anything when select it
"Built-in Audio", which I guess is motherboard's ports, and it has the following profiles:
    Analog Stereo Duplex
    Analog Stereo Output
    Analog Stereo Input
    Off
With these profiles happens exactly what I have described in original post.
Digital Stereo (IEC958) Output + Analog Stereo Input
    Digital Stereo (IEC958) Output
With these profiles, I still get exact same cracking audio, however in "Output Devices" tab a new "Built-in Audio Digital Stereo (IEC958)" appears, below normal "Built-in Audio Analog Stereo", AND the "Port" Selection does NOT change.
chancho wrote:instead of muting a port, can you disable the port in the pavucontrol->configuration->profile ?
You mean set "Profile" to Off? I tried that, same result.
eeg wrote:Under pavucontrol->configuration->profile, instead of selecting Analog Stereo Output, use Analog Surround 4.0 Output.
I have no Surround 4.0 Ouptput in the menu.
Any direction what to try next would be appreciated.

  • Playing itunes on home stereo (wired)?

setup: recently moved and now have a room as a dedicated office; however this poses a new problem as my airport express is in there to print wirelessly but my stereo is in the main room. one of these days when i have a little expendable cash i guess i will buy another one, but in the mean time i'd like to be able to at least plug my macbook into the stereo as temporary solution. i tried plugging a headphone sized audio cable into the line out that splits to red/white on the receiver end, but it is not playing. when i go to the sound tab in system preferences, the audio output says headphones.
question: what am i doing wrong. does my macbook's line out only recognize digital audio cables? is it something im not setting up properly in itunes?

Plug headphones into it and see if it works. If it does, you are plugged into the wrong input on the stereo or something not set correctly.
