Stereo Bluetooth - no support for controls and other issues

I have tried 2 stereo headsets now and both have the same issue. No controls other than Vol +/- are supported. Pause/Play doesn't work and >| and |< don't work. It's pretty clear that the 3.0 software doesn't support these functions.
One Headset is the new Sony BT100CX. The other is Insignia.
Are others getting the same results?
I also get some bizarre results with the Stereo Headset, like no audio in one direction on a phone call. Then when I switched to iPhone from Bluetooth and hung up, the call actually stayed open! Another time I connected to the Sony BT and got constant static.
I spent a long time talking to a nice but not very knowledgeable gentleman at Apple Support who consulted an "specialist." The specialist did not seem to know whether these controls are supported or not. It is bizarre that Apple is paying so little attention to bluetooth. Having waited years for decent bluetooth support, you would would think they would want to get it right when they finally put it in, but they leave out VERY valuable features. And they don't even seem to know that they left out these features. A simple pause in the iPhone in Ipod mode is a PITA. With the Bluetooth stereo profile it should be easy.

Thanks. That page says the 3G supports the AVRCP profile, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetoothprofile#Audio.2FVideo_Remote_Control_Profile.28AVRCP.29. Version 1.0 of the profile includes pause/play etc. It is clear that although they claim support, it does not work.
Are others not having this issue?

Windows Media Player for MAc and other issues

I just bought a mac a week ago.
Decided to do the switch since the person at the store told me I could use the win XP interface. Anyway after installing the win xp, i realised my laptop doesnt not recognise the drivers.I got no sound, no airport. I am not too sure if the service pack is the issue. I am using service pack one.
Since I need to listen to some online lecture recordings and my xp doesnt have sound, i have to use it on MAC OS. But as the problem is the site kept telling me to install Internet explorer 5.5 and above and after install IE for MAc 5.1, it ask for Windows Media player. I installed flip4mac and media player for mac ..it still doesnt work...
I am truly sad to see the difficult in using a macbook and i kinda regretted getting it. It just getting on my nerves....
can someone please guide me or do you have any similar problem?

Yes the service pack is an issue if you're using Boot Camp to run XP. If you don't have SP2, you can try running Parallels Desktop (http://www.Parallels.com) which doesn't require SP2.

Some streaming media sites are not compatible with Mac OS X. Are these online lectures for school? I would simply ask the person running the class to help you get support. They can tell you pretty quickly if it's possible to listen with a Mac. If it's not, you should be able to do it from XP with either Parallels or Boot Camp (provided you have an SP2 version of XP).

If the web designers blow it off and only support Windows, 95% of the users are still happy and don't complain. That's lazy and infuriating but it happens quite a lot. There's even a name for it: Mac Marginalization.
So you will run into this from time to time. The best solution on the Macbook is to get one of the Windows environments up and running properly. But you should still complain LOUDLY to the people who set up the bad website. The only way this will change is if users let lazy site administrators know that they are MAD about it.

Using USB_CAN for CCP and other issues

Hello.
I want to generate an application which reads values from CAN. I'm able to read CAN messages and show them on the screen. Now I want to add the CCP functions into the same software but I cannot read the rest of CAN messages. What I have is:
Three CAN messages: 0x100;0x200;0x300
CCP messages: 0x5;0x6
When I read all the messages I'm able to read 0x100;0x200 and 0x300, but when I start the CCP functionallity it works but I stop reading the first three mesages. I suppose that the CCP API "discards" the non CCP messages. Where can I find these messages?
Maybe I cannot use CCP funcionallity on a port used for other purposes...

BT Mail is Poor/Unfit for purpose and other issues

Having been migrated to BT Mail I was dismayed at the considerable increase in spam received in my account. Taken a while but I now realise why.............BT Mail has not been adding to my blocked sender list. It says it does, but it does not add the addresses or domains. So I tried doinf it manually, in 'settings' nope no joy there either.
So on to help.............
What a farce. The nice lady listened to what I told her was happening and what I had done...........
then promptly got me to do it all again.........................twice, with the inevitable result. I have been moved to the next level..... wow.
The second part of the rant. They managed to 'lose' one of my email addresses in the migration from BTYahoo. I had what seemed like half of India looking for a solution all through October, November and december. I think they have now given up.
I am paying for this 'service'.
Does anyone have a contact in UK where i can get common sense and knowledge to resolve this issue. India is poor on tech but JUST acceptable if it is a web chat. On the phone, I am sorry, but the language barrier is huge. I am embarrassed having to ask for everything to be repeated as I cant understand.
Suggestions, on a postcard please, as email probably will have issues..................

Just out of interest, I tried to log into BT Yahoo (cos its still available) with my 'missing' supplementary email. Gosh it wanted me to change my password so.......
i tried and it let me and I can now log into Yahoo mail with my 'missing' supplementary email address.
Yet, BT India were unable to; a) find it. b) transfer it/migrate it to BT Mail. c) phoned me twice and told me it would happen over time if they could find it. d) Appear to have given up doing anything since November.
So, now I appear to have a YaHoo mail account with an @btinternet.com address, which I cannot access through BT Mail.

Skype for 8520 and other BB version's / Question needed to be answered by Blackberry support for everyone!

This is a question that seriously needs answering for myself and other BB customer's.
Personally the only reason I have a BB is because I can have window's live messenger on it, But WLM is closing in April and updating to skype, Meaning everyone who use's WLM that their contact's will be going there and not to any other network!
Now I've read from what I've researched that BB maybe will be joining with oovoo something like that, Why when that is not where people's MSN/Hotmail contact's will be going ?
BB paying customer's to BB product's want access to there MSN/Hotmail contact's not to be diverted to another service that does not have their MSN/Hotmail contact's.
Also I have seen that skype or something along those line's will be available for the new BB 10, So what about earlier product's such as BB curve 8520 that I personally own myself that has nothing wrong with it?
So us paying BB customer's are going to be excluded because we don't have a brand new version of BB due to there being nothing wrong with the BB's we have? Which so were going to be penalized?
I would like these question's answered please because I am not happy about this and I'm sure a lot of other BB customer's are not too, It's not anyone's fault that WLM is going to be taken away but atleast make sure that BB customer's have a skype app to access their MSN/Hotmail contact's and can conversant with them directly like WLM.
Honestly I love my BB and wouldn't be without it purely because I'm able to log in WLM when I like, Where ever I am and talk to my contact's directly, Not all people have BB's and can not be added to BB messenger which is why WLM is a priority on BB app's for BB customer's, Is something going to be done about this? Because if not then that is just wrong which will result in many valued BB customer's changing to other phone's purely because out of being penalized of not having the newer version of BB 10 or not having skype at all regardless of IM+, We should have a direct Skype app and be able to have direct gain to our MSN/Hotmail contact's like we did on WLM.
So can someone answer this please and give us BB customer's confirmation on what is going to happen, Thank you.

The answer is actually simple...example...6.0.0.415 for a 9860 is very different from 6.0.0.415 for a 9670. Hence, the app developers must port their apps to every combination of (usually) major OS level (e.g., 6.0, 7.0, 7.1) and specific device model number. That's a lot of combinations to which they must port their app...and many choose to not do them all. But the choice is the app developers.

I am trying to detect signal peaks (derivatives of the peaks both +ve and -ve peaks). simultaneously 2 peaks detectors are running, 1 for +ve and other for -ve peaks.

i am trying to detect signal peaks (derivatives of the peaks both +ve and -ve peaks). simultaneously 2 peaks detectors are running, 1 for +ve and other for -ve peaks. when a peaks get detected it would trigger a pulse of approx 1 sec duration and at the same time it would disable the other peak detector for 1 sec time duration. after the time period, again both the peak detectors would be enabled. i have been able to detect both peaks but still not able to control the detectors block the way mentioned before.

I'm not suggesting any of this as a model, and your needs are different than mine.
1) Go to Preferences -> Audio. Under "Default Audio Tracks", Set "Mono Media: Mono". Set "Stereo Media: Mono" (Choices from the pull-down for both are Use File, Mono, Stereo, 5.1, Adaptive)
You can change these, but I don't. I am using both mono and stereo tracks. I set up a custom sequence with the particular combination of stereo and mono tracks I want.
2) Set audio for clips by selecting all clips and going to Modify Clip -> Audio Channels Tab. Under "Number of Audio Tracks" there should be a "1". Under Channel Format it should read "Stereo".
I am not sending the audio to anyone else to edit further. I am doing a final stereo mix. If camera one is set up to record 2 mikes as a stereo track, then I leave that unchanged and put it onto a stereo track. If camera two is set up to record one mike onto channel 1 as ambient sound and channel 2 is a mono feed from a sound board, then I modify those clips as Preset Mono, 2 audio tracks, Channel format Mono, and that puts the left source channel (or whichever I choose) onto Audio track 1, channel 1 (of one), and right source channel onto audio track 2, channel 1.
4) Delete all the existing audio tracks in the sequence and replace them all with mono tracks, so all tracks in the sequence are mono.
I modify the tracks while creating the sequence, and ultimately use a custom sequence.
Under my Effects Controls panel there is only Channel Volume, and nowhere to adjust the pan.
I'm using the mixer, not the effects control panel.

No. There is no way to upgrade any Mac Pro older then the cylindrical 2013 Mac Pro to ThunderBolt.
The requirements of Thunderbolt require a totally redesigned motherboard and chip set rather any plugin cards. These motherboard were never developed for older Mac Pros.

When i try to open photoshop this shows up Please uninstall and reinstall the product. If this problem still occurs, please contact Adobe technical support for help, and mention the error code shown at the bottom of this screen. Error: 16

i had to take my photoshop file into a hardrive because my dad was going to give me a new Mac and when things didn't work out and went back to my old one i use the time capsule thing to save everything before but didn't give me photoshop so i physically moved the file and tried to open it but then this error shows up

ZAM support for Debian and CentOS

I'm planning to install Zenworks Asset Management and I would like to know if it would release a support for Debian and CentOS. We have a heterogenous network environment and there are servers that are running Debian and CentOS. Is it possible for ZAM to release a support for these operating systems?

top of windows only. ZLM (7.3) only supports SLES and RedHat.

Feature Request: Support for .idea and .psdx extensions

I've noticed that Adobe Bridge does not have any support for .idea and .psdx files. The .idea files will show a idea file icon but the .psdx will be a blank, unknown file icon. Both do not show any preview in Bridge. I do not know why this is as previews for these files can be seen when they are uploaded to creative cloud or the new creative cloud mobile app.

You need to take the phone to a nokia care point and ask them to install it for you.
Language packs are not available for self install.

No, we have consolidated on the Apache XML/XSL stuff. You are free to use
whatever other parser you would like however. The Sun XML pkg should work
fine.

Hi,
You can configure a Windows server 2008 NLB cluster with up to 32 nodes. However,
scaling beyond 8 nodes will cause a slight performance hit because the network traffic is broadcasted to every node and only one NLB node accepts the connection.

Virtual environment license for sql and other dependencies of sharepoint in Azure

We have Microsoft ActionPack. And we use Sharepoit 2013 from ActionPack , which is installed on our server.
But our on premise server doesn't satisfy the hardware requirement for sharepoint, and thus it is too slow to use.
So we decided to move sharepoint 2013 to Microsoft azure.
But we don't have any idea of virtual environment license for sql and other dependencies of sharepoint in Azure.
Do we have to purchase separate license for sql server and other dependencies.?

Before you deploy SharePoint 2013 on the Azure platform, you must ensure that your Azure virtualization solution meets all the licensing requirements.
Every element of a SharePoint 2013 farm that is installed on Azure virtual machines must comply with the licensing requirements for SharePoint 2013 and related and supporting technologies.
SharePoint 2010 and SQL Server licenses should be purchased separately.
