Stereo Headset for iPhone 3G

I am on my second iPhone 3G (the first one had to be exchanged due to many, many glitches), and I am wondering why in the heck both of my iPhones stereo headsets won't work? It is super frustrating! I am using the headset that came with the phone, and in both instances it seems like the set never plugs in properly to the jack. Is anyone else having this problem? What is the deal? I am so frustrated with this phone!

I just purchased these and although the Sony site says they are perfect for use with the iPhone, there is a major inconvenience: the iPhone apparently doesn't support the skip forward or back or fast forward or review keys. Basically you can only start and stop the audio (and control its volume) from the headset. I contacted Sony and they said that this is a problem with iPhones implementation of the AVRCP Bluetooth protocol (funny that they say the unit works perfectly with the iPhone). I'm using the 3GS, by the way.
On the plus side, the sound is excellent, the telephone controls work just fine, pairing was very easy, and they are quite comfortable. I've decided not to return the headphones and I'm hoping that a future OS release for the iPhone will solve the AVRCP problem (wishful thinking, I guess).

I am trying to find a compatible wired stereo headset for the droid which has volume/call control buttons. I am considering the Plantronics BackBeat 216 but I am not able find out if it is compatible with the Droid X. Any know of compatible headsets.
That model was made for the Iphone so I am going to imagine it is not compatible.
I know of some wired that have play/pause button on them, however if you are looking for play, pause, vol and call answer you might be better served with a bluetooth headphone.
http://www.motorola.com/staticfiles/Consumers/global/flash_content/microsites/s9hd/index.html    This one runs about $50 at places like Amazon.
I already have a bluetooth headset. The problem is when I am in our data center floor I get too much interference over bluetooth and it becomes basically unsuable. The reason why I am looking for a wired stereo headset.
You can try checkingout the V-moda Vibe duo, or take a look at this list of headsets that have all been tested with the DX.  I don't think you will find one that covers all the features you want though, might have to compromise on one of them.

  • Stereo Bluetooth for Iphone

Do anybody know if Apple is working on coming up with Stereo Bluetooth for Iphone?

Here is how I am able to listen to audio thru my bluetooth earpiece from my iPhone's iPod content including video. It works with Apple's bluetooth and Motorola's H5 bluetooth. It's only one ear hence mono sound I believe. I don't have a stereo bluetooth headset to listen to to hear otherwise.
First make sure the bluetooth is paired and active. Touch phone from home screen< then touch voice mail < then in the upper right hand corner touch audio < your bluetooth device should be visible < touch it.
Now you should be able to listen to your iPod thru your headset. The only drawback is that the audio is also going thru the iPhone speaker too.
It works on my iPhone running latest update. Good luck.

  • What is the best bluetooth headset for iPhone 5?

What is the best Bluetooth headset for iPhone 5 for talking no music?

I've tried all the majors:  Bose (1 model twice), Motorola (2 models), Jawbone (5 models) in almost every model.
Bose is good but such an odd nub just sitting there on your ear - bad athestics.  Device is fine but not right for me.
Motorola seem to have troublie with iPhone specifically.   They don't stay paired and noise-cancelling has been bad.  I tried 3 pairs of the Elite Silver with no luck.  Great concept to have a case that charges the device but bad device.  Same issue with the Oasis.
Jawbones are good and I've had 5 of them.   They seem to degrade in voice cancelling quality over time based on feedback of people I talk to but they are solid.   I'm sure I just beat them up but they do seem to go bad.
My best experience have been BLUEANT, both the Q2 (bought 2) and teh Q3 (own 1).   Q2 are solid but they have this issue with a metal screen that inevitable breaks off, not affecting call quality but a pain.   Q3 have fixed that but they are just a bit bulkier.   Good features (voice answer & address book) and solid.  These are just awesome and good instant on that simply isn't true of all of the devices.  Only downside has been no battery meter on the Q2 for the iphone but a solid workhorse.
I just got a new Motorola Whisper and so far I'm impressed.   First motorola that has solid noise reduction and doesn't seem to have the random unpairing issue with the iphone.   It's early yet but great design and comes with a case.
    I hope this helps.

  • Wireless headset for iPhone

    Hi !
I´ve just converted from a ordinary SoneEricsson-user to now a iPhone 3GS-user. I´ve now concluded my new step and found out that I´m satisfied with everything beside that I´m missing my bluetooth headset from SonyEricsson - a headset with earplugs like the one you use for iPod but without wire connection to the phone. Up to now I´ve only found wireless headsets for the iPhone you must put on the ear all the time - you look like you are working with telephone support or CSI-gards
I´d be greatful if someone could recommend me a website where I can order my typ of headset for my new iPhone.
    /Marlene

The BT profile that might accomplish this is not on the iPhone, but even if it were you would not be happy with the results. Go for a good wireless microphone.

  • Bluetooth stereo headsets for E61i?

As E61i does not support A2DP there are no Nokia bluetooth stereo headsets available. But are they totally incompatible or just working mono then? Asking because my notebook supports A2DP and I just need ONE headset for both...

    Hi,
I think that the adapters are the same. You just need to check that both support stereo sound and look about the same.
And of course, you can always go to a shop and test them. (Which is probably best in any case, since what might be the best for someone might not be best for everyone else.)

  • Non Bluetooth headsets for iphone?

    Hello all,
I'm looking for non bluetooth (aka ones with a wire) headsets with little luck. I've tried using a belkin iphone adapter for my Bang and Olufsen Earset 1 but it does not fit (which shocked the apple store people who had no alternative suggestions). I've been looking and all I've seen are bluetooth sets. Anyone have any suggestions for a good wired headset for use with iphone?

For alot of standard headphones to work you will need one of the 2 adaptors below

  • Bluetooth Stereo Headsets for MacBook Pro.

Hi guys, months ago I purchased a Jabra bluetooth headset (Jabra BT135). It works for Skype and iChat but not exactly up to my expectations. Later on I learned that some mobile phones can stream wirelessly music to bluetooth headsets. The new technology that allows that is called (at least by Sony Ericsson) A2DP. My mobile (SE W810i) doesn't have that feature but it's okay, I don't think I need that, especially if it's my plan to upgrade to an iPhone asap.
The question is (excuse me if I took too long), are the current MBP able to transmit "high quality stereo music" just like those mobiles are? I just got my MBP, I'd hate to think that it's behind in that sense.
I was thinking of a headset such as the model DR-BT30Q from Sony because it has a microphone built-in.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Which is the best stereo bluetooth for iPhone 4 on the lines of Sony Ericsson MW600?

Can anyone who has had 1st hand experience with stereo bluetooth that they have used.. come forward with their reviews on them..?  I had a Sony Ericsson MW600 which i have now misplaced... overall they do their job pretty well.. you can use the play, forward and rewind buttons.. and yes of course pick up calls to.. it has multipoint allowing you to connect upto 3 devices at once, although you cannot use all the devices at once, you need to change your device from the bluetooth inbult led menu which can get frustrating at times... but its an option nonetheless.. Also it has radio, which your iPhone does not have.. not that i use it anyways but an added feature for radio enthusiast.. They have a great battery Life too and also you can put in your own in ear headphones which i really apprecaite.. The only downside of these bluetooth are that.. they are not as loud as i would like them to be... but opinions can differ in that area...  So thats my reveiw on the Sony Ericsson MW 600.. Now can anyone suggest me something similar to buy? preferebally a bluetooth which can support other in ear headphones and are nice and loud..

  • Help me find a new headset for iPhone!

Apple sure can design some awesome products, but sometimes they think a little too different or not different enough on the simplest things. Like their mice. The Mighty Mouse has some awesome functionality, but I never owned one whose scrollball lasted more than a few months. Their earbuds suck too. The problem is so simple: the speaker on each earbud is placed so that your ear canal never receives the full sound. It almost seems deliberate. Why, even after a redesign, are the centers of the speakers placed in the middle of each bud, even though the wire coming out of each bud is off center so that it can slide into your ear and rest on your tragus. How can they not see the problem? The sound quality is actually not that bad, but you never get to hear it all without shoving the buds farther in with your fingers.
    That's what I like about Sony's earbuds.
    http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=1055 1&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=11038782
You can't see it there, but the speakers are placed closest to where the bud meets the ear canal. You get more sound. And they're also really affordable.
It's just too bad that Apple doesn't want you using any earbuds other than their own on iPhone! The headphone jack is under that friggin' opening that just so happens to allow the supplied headset to fit perfectly snug in it. My L-shaped Sony connector doesn't fit. But even if I could get it to fit, it would be hard to give up that little remote/mic combo that Apple's supplied headset has. It's a headset that's cool and crappy at the same time.
So what would you recommend? I listen to music a lot on my iPhone, so I want better sound than Apple's willing to offer. However, I also want to be able to pause and skip music and answer calls without showing the world I own a hot new iPhone. What solution offers the best of both of those worlds as well as comfort? Bluetooth, wired... it's all good.

Keep in mind, they do not (yet) have the button
included with the mic, the next version will. From
    v-moda:
"The first generation VIBE DUOs do not have the
control button. This keeps them lightweight for an
active lifestyle and universally compatible with all
cell phones with the use of an adaptor. The next
generation of the DUO, set to come out next month,
will come equipped with the answer/play/pause/skip
control! This handy feature will provide the
convenience you are accustomed to, but it will only
be compatible with the iPhone. Keep checking our
website at www.shop.v-moda.com for updates and
    release dates.
    Rock on,
Thanks for the heads up. I knew there was a reason I had not ordered them yet. I guess I can wait a little bit.
What I would REALLY like to have is a set of Bluetooth headphones! I've seen a pair for iPod but not specifically iPhone. They do use a little adaptor but I'm hoping someone will come up with a more elegant design. I really wish they had just built in A2DP in the first place.

Any tips on what would be a good headset to use with iPhone 5with good bag round noise cancelation and good compatibility with Siri.

  • Sidetone headset for iPhone

    Greetings-
I am looking for a replacement of the Apple earbuds with mic that came with the phone. I tried a Klipsch headset, but it is a sound isolating headset that sounds great for music, but it is impossible to participate on a phone call with it, as you cannot hear yourself talking through the headset. It sounds just like putting your fingers in your ear and talking out loud. The original headset does not really have this problem because the headset was not really sound isolating, the earbuds do not block all the noise around you from entering your ear. I am interested in a third party headset as the earbuds from apple tend to hurt my ears after extended use.
I asked a genius at the store on Mich ave in Chicago and he said that the iphone does not support any sidetone (piping your voice when you talk through the headset back to you so you can hear yourself talk). My question is does anyone have / use a headset that has some sort of device inline that pumps your voice back through the headset (or any other suggestions about a good headset I can use with the phone that does not create a super awkward experience when trying to use the phone as a phone)?

I was hoping that some aftermarket product may be available that is an in-line device that will loop back the spoken sound from the mic back into the headset. This would not require the phone to support sidetone (no idea why Apple would not include sidetone in the device in the first place), but would be handled by another device.
I would have thought that Apple may have desired to include features that people who use the device for business need if they want to try to dislodge blackberry at all, but I guess I am wrong. Many people spend a great deal of time on the phone with a headset each and every day.

  • Recommedation for on the ear headset for iphone 3

I don't find any of the in ear sets to be very comfortable for any length of time so am looking for a "on ear" style (a padded styles) headset that is comfortable but not too bulky. I would prefer the mic be the wand style as I use my phone frequently while walking the dog or riding my bike and the in-line mics pic up too much other noise. The headset brands and styles vary so much I'm not even sure where to start.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
