It's a shame that this is already more then 5 mounths !!!!
no possibilaty to downgrade the firmware..;(
1 not one note on Belkin.com site (they still sell it !!)
    or
    2 on Apple update site
NOTE here on the discussion from januari 2007 !!!
When I record in stereo, it skips through out the recording. I'll be listening to what I have recorded, and I'll notice that chunks of about 3 seconds are missing from the recording
      Mac OS X (10.4.9)   G5

actually a very similar problem here. the recording was 35 min and it jumps and skips down to about 7 min. I thought it was a problem with the wav file that was recorded so I converted it to mp3 to and the same problem.
i do have firmware 1.2.1 but had never successfully used it before this attempt. did you ever get any resolution on this?

  • Why no stereo recording for Lumia 920 ?

i have read at Nokia developers website that Lumia 920 have 3 High Dynamic Range Microphones. But during video recording , it does only mono recording despite of having 3 microphones (all knows stereo recording is better than mono) whereas the newly launched Lumia1020 does stereo recording and have only 2 High Dynamic Range Microphones...
My question is : Why no stereo recording in Lumia 92x pureview devices ? or is it coming in future updates(or amber update have it?) .
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The notion stereo recording is better is a false one. As the spacing for mics on the 920 is limited resoring in stereo is more a gimmick really. You would probably get similar results if you ran your recordings through a decent audio editor with a plugin creating a stereo illusion with reverb processing.

  • Does Apple make/sell the new "Apple In-Ear Headphones with Remote and Mic" with a one sided configuration? So that a person that is deaf in one can hear both sides of a stereo recording? Also, since the "other" bud is not necessary/useful...it's removed.

Does Apple make/sell the new "Apple In-Ear Headphones with Remote and Mic" with a one sided configuration? So that a person that is deaf in one can hear both sides of a stereo recording? Also, since the "other" bud is not necessary/useful...it's removed.

As far as I know, Apple sells no such configuration.  However, under Settings > General > Accessability, there is an option to play back audio in monoural mode, which would then play both halves of a stereo mix in each earbud.
    Hope that helps.

  • Please help! how to delete stereo recording pre final cut express edit

ok I have recorded over 10 hours of (voiceovers) intstructional material on ishowu HD.. When i started i used my built in mic and everything was good. I could place it in FCE edit in viewer before placing in my sequence. These recording on recording mono (a1) and mono (a2) and i had no problems.
Somewhere along the way (i believe when i changed from built in mic to plug in usb mic) ishowu began recording mono (a1), mono(a2), and also stereo (a3a4).. With the additional stereo audio folder being recorded it gives me a general error (not enough memory)when i try to put these clips into my viewer and i can't edit or play the clips in FCE. So I have a ton of clips i can not edit in FCE and the general error is killing me.. So basically i have a ton of quicktime files and need to know if it is possible to delete the stereo recording from my voiceover and somehow change it back to just mono a1 and mono a2. Please somebody help!

    I know nothing about iShowU.
I can say that VO in FCE are always going to be a mono clip entered into only one audio track.
Why it's arriving as a stereo pair is a mystery to me at the minute.
Have you trashed your FCE Preferences?
If you want to make a stereo pair into two mono tracks they can be.
Are there inward facing little green triangles on the stereo pairs?

  • Stereo Record, Mono output

I have been recording voices through a Samson microphone on my pc (using Soundbooth CS4) and thought that I was recording in a stereo format, however I seem to be getting mono output.  The only way that I can tell is by putting on headphones and hearing the recording (finished .wav) on one side only (the left).
What am I doing wrong and is there a way to correct what has already been recorded without re-recording it?  I would like the stereo like render with sound coming from both headphones, etc..
    Thanks

Sounds like you had a similar problem to one I just solved for myself. Your recording is coming out of only one speaker because it was recorded using only one channel in a stereo recording format. You have to change it to a mono recording. Here's how...
Under the "file" drop down, choose "Export" and then choose "Channels to Mono". It will save both channels of a stereo recording as single, individual Mono .wav files with a "L" or "R" designation for right or left channel. Simply keep the one with your recording on it and discard the other that will be blank. You can then keep the file as a .wav file or as I did, do a "save as" to create my desired .mp3 file (or whatever format you require).
This new file will now play as a mono recording through both speakers.  Worked like a charm for me - hope this helps!

  • Desktop recording using flex

    Hi,
I am new to flex. I want to know that is it possible to record remote user desktop screen using flex and to save the recorded video to flash media server?

Wow, thanks so much Bob - that is some absolutely fantastic information.
I converted one of my Presenter courses to a fully functional EXE file in about 5 minutes with the SWF Maestro Exe trial!  I have been trying for years to find a solution to turn my Presenter files into single, flat file and that seems to do exactly what I need.
Your sample training course is really nice - you did a great job with it!  I know how much work it can be to get the PPT file, transitions and audio to work just right like you have.  I have 15 eLearning files that have hundreds of hours of work on each one!

  • Changing Stereo Recorded tracks to Mono - PLEASE HELP !

I have just spent the whole weekending using my friend’s equipment to record a selection of songs on Garage band 3.
I had the input set to Stereo 1 & 2.
This has only recorded my voice in the right speaker and added the effects in the left. I did not realize this at the time and now have a some great recordings which are useless as the lead vocal is not in both speakers.
Is there any way I can get the vocal in both speakers such as converting the vocal lines to mono or duplicating the tracks and swapping the pan? Any help or advice would be useful - thanks in advance
    Ross

    how simple !
    thanks !!

  • No stereo recording

After weeks of futility with everyone blaming everyone I finally got hold of someone through the Toshiba Depot number who would admit that there is nothing that can be done to make my M305 record a stereo wave file. Its monaural recording from external sources or nothing.
Below is the response to Toshiba's request for a rating on their support effort.
It was not the fault of your support staff. When you manufacture a product that will not do one of the basic functions of most every other computer then you or those you authorize to sell your product should advise customers of this shortcomming.
It appears that the Toshiba will not record a stereo signal (separate right and left channels) from an external source. It has no stereo line in although it does play back stereo from CD or DVD being run on the computer.
The Toshiba will be on E Bay tomorrow at a several 100 dollar loss; and a new Dell should be in my hands in a week or so.
You lost me as a customer.

The mic in is only mono.  You need a stereo in, which some units do have.  You don't say which unit you have...
You can record stereo from sources like the CD though... just not using the mic in.  If you need that and yourn unit doesn't have that I would get a USB sound device that offers it.  They make them and they cost less then the $100 loss you say you will be taking.
If you want to give feedback to Toshiba you need to call them 800-457-7777.
Just users in this forum, no Toshiba presense.
    This signature left intentionally blank.

  • Problem trying to stereo record

In spite of track being armed, double-circle for stereo, software monitoring pref selected, my live instrument (Native American woodwind flute) will only either monitor or record in one of the two stereo channels as displayed in the Track Mixer. Input 1-2 and Output 1-2 are selected.
Also actual recording results in a 'mono' one-sided wave form.
I am recording into LE7.1 via an M-Audio Ozone Instrument In.
    Any help/suggestions would be appreciated....Thanks.

Hi Phil....Yes, I'm recording using either a small condenser instrument mounted 'bug' mic or LD condenser mic - both being mono. Following your post I have now changed I/O from Input 1-2 to Input 1 and the levels are displaying as two parallel bars rather than one....The sound being through both headphone speakers now.
As it's late I'll record in the morning. I'll also email you re seminars later tomorrow....Thanks!

  • ADAT stereo recorded as split mono: best way to convert to stereo?

    Hello everyone,
I have session material on an ADAT that have stereo files split on two mono tracks (e.g. channels 1 & 2) and thus were recorded in logic on mono audio tracks (e.g.1 & 2). What is the next step to insure easy editing abilities?
For example, is there a “link” button similar to FCP that will allow edits to effect both tracks? If not, should bounce the two audio tracks into one stereo track? “Convert to Stereo” does not work in the audio window, as Logic does not recognize these as split stereo files. Same seems to apply for "convert regions to new audio files" in the arrange window.
Thanks in advance for your help! Sorry for the newbe question, I dont work with audio that often, especially coming from DAT.

Is it really worth it/necessary? I will in the future make sure to record them as stereo tracks. I guess experience is the best teacher

  • Stereo recording with external mic in iMovie

    Hey everybody
So, this question has probably been up before but I cant´t figure it out.
    First:
I want to make a video and live recording of one of my new songs using iMovie.
I use a KM 184 condeser microphone through a duet audio interface. I can see here that there is sound on both output channels (stereo) also in logic pro and garageband.
    Problem:
Choosing microphone input in iMovie I only get left channel signal, that is NO stereo sound.
I want to use one microphone but I can´t figure out how to get a stereo song in iMovie. Any ideas on this matter???

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
     Cheers, Tom

  • Stereo recording with MP3 recorder using external stereo

I want to record digital streo sound and wonder if I need to buy a MD recorder or if I could use an MP3 recorder which I'd prefer? Therefore please explain if an external stereo mic. can be connected to any of your MP3 players/recorders. If so, which model. If not, please explain if an external stereo mic. also could be connected to the 'line in', and if so, if it could be connected directly, or if it needs to have a preamp in between. If so, which preamp to use with which MP3 recorder?thank you for any answer.
    kuuan

thank's for your fast answer. Are the two players you mention older models? According to the creative site there are three models offered nowadays with the name 'jukebox7: Jukebox Zen NX, Jukebox Zen Extra and Jukebox Zen USB 2, but as much as I understand their specifications they do not have a 'line in', or do they? If they don't, well, even though this is a creative's forum, are there any MP3 recorders from other manufacturers which would do the job?
Concerning the mic, are there mics offered which include a preamp? If so, which one would you recommend? If not, what kind of preamp with which specifications do I have to get to connect with which kind of mic? Any mic offered for MD recorders? Would my Panasonic mic of my video recorder do the job as well? Could be that this mic for the video recorder already includes a preamp?
    thank's again for any help,
    kuuan

  • Screen recording in flex

    Hi,
I am developing a whiteboard application in Flex and Action Script3. I have the following-
There is a canvas on which the publisher can draw and that will be published to the subscribers
The publisher can also give the webcam input and microphone input
I have been able to do these via shared objects and net stream publish().
Now  I want that these things are recorded in an FLV file on the server -  that is, the drawing activity on the canvas, the webcam input and the  audio on one single file which can be viewed later.
Can someone suggest me how can I go about this?
I  came across Screen recording VH Driver - which will emulate a webcam  and that can be use to publish to the netstream and record. But this way  I will lose my physical webcam.
Also. I want a solution on Ubuntu as I am using the Red5 Server.
    Please suggest.
