Stereo Recording with SB128 PCI at Line-In Po

Hello everybody,
I connected my stereo amplifier to the line-in port of my sound card SB28 PCI for recording some phono discs. Although I can hear the STEREO sound at the desktop speakers while playing, the wave recorder (NERO wave editor) only produces MONO tracks. The preferences of my wave editor are configured correctly. My operatiing system is WinXP prof.
Does anybody know how to solve the problem? Thank you!

Windows Sound recorder has a number of settings you can change to record in stereo.
From the "File" menu select "Properties" and click on the "Convert Now" button. This should let you change to a stereo format with a higher sampling rate.

  • Stereo recording with MP3 recorder using external stereo

I want to record digital streo sound and wonder if I need to buy a MD recorder or if I could use an MP3 recorder which I'd prefer? Therefore please explain if an external stereo mic. can be connected to any of your MP3 players/recorders. If so, which model. If not, please explain if an external stereo mic. also could be connected to the 'line in', and if so, if it could be connected directly, or if it needs to have a preamp in between. If so, which preamp to use with which MP3 recorder?thank you for any answer.

thank's for your fast answer. Are the two players you mention older models? According to the creative site there are three models offered nowadays with the name 'jukebox7: Jukebox Zen NX, Jukebox Zen Extra and Jukebox Zen USB 2, but as much as I understand their specifications they do not have a 'line in', or do they? If they don't, well, even though this is a creative's forum, are there any MP3 recorders from other manufacturers which would do the job?
Concerning the mic, are there mics offered which include a preamp? If so, which one would you recommend? If not, what kind of preamp with which specifications do I have to get to connect with which kind of mic? Any mic offered for MD recorders? Would my Panasonic mic of my video recorder do the job as well? Could be that this mic for the video recorder already includes a preamp?
    thank's again for any help,

  • Stereo recording with external mic in iMovie

    Hey everybody
So, this question has probably been up before but I cant´t figure it out.
    First:
I want to make a video and live recording of one of my new songs using iMovie.
I use a KM 184 condeser microphone through a duet audio interface. I can see here that there is sound on both output channels (stereo) also in logic pro and garageband.
    Problem:
Choosing microphone input in iMovie I only get left channel signal, that is NO stereo sound.
I want to use one microphone but I can´t figure out how to get a stereo song in iMovie. Any ideas on this matter???

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

  • Why can't I get stereo sound recording to iMovie through audio line in?

I am recording some keyboard music from a digital keyboard (Yamaha pf85) into iMovie HD 6 on my laptop through the audio line in. I have connected Output I from the keyboard to the audio line in using a mini jack adapter. This is supposed to record the music in Mono, but it will only play back on the left side of the spectrum. There is no right side sound at all. The keyboard has twin outputs, so I have also tried connecting Outputs I and II to the laptop's line in, using a twin mini jack adapter, but the music still only plays back on the left side. What's happened to the right side?
I have transferred the movie to my desktop Mac (PowerPC G4 with OS 10.4.11) but I get the same problem.
I've tried exporting the movie to QuickTime, but still the same problem.
What am I doing wrong? How can I record/playback the sound on both sides of the spectrum?

Thanks for these suggestions, which are blinding but have not solved it.
    1) All cables OK and fully inserted.
    2) I tried recording a voice over into iMovie using a USB mic/headset and that was in mono but played back through both channels, so laptop and iMovie are OK recording with USB.
    3) I tried recording from the keyboard into iMovie and QuickTime on the laptop in three different ways through line in: first using both Outputs, then using Output I only and finally using Output II only. On all three occasions, the sound played back on the laptop through the left channel only. The keyboard itself has two inbuilt speakers and a headphone socket and both are providing mono sound through left and right channels, which suggests it's not faulty.
I then tried recording sound only from the keyboard into Quicktime on my desktop Mac, using the same cables and adapter. Left channel only.
I guess this means either the adapter is faulty or it's something to do with the way my keyboard outputs sound. I'll try your other suggestion. Or maybe I just need a hardware interface to route the separate channels. That seems excessive for what I want to achieve.

  • Does Apple make/sell the new "Apple In-Ear Headphones with Remote and Mic" with a one sided configuration? So that a person that is deaf in one can hear both sides of a stereo recording? Also, since the "other" bud is not necessary/useful...it's removed.

Does Apple make/sell the new "Apple In-Ear Headphones with Remote and Mic" with a one sided configuration? So that a person that is deaf in one can hear both sides of a stereo recording? Also, since the "other" bud is not necessary/useful...it's removed.

As far as I know, Apple sells no such configuration.  However, under Settings > General > Accessability, there is an option to play back audio in monoural mode, which would then play both halves of a stereo mix in each earbud.
    Hope that helps.

    No real helpful answer.

If I am not wrong, you need data from SQL tables in form of
XML. Then you can get that straight from SQL by using FOR XML
clause. FOR XML modes can be of 3 types RAW, AUTO or EXPLICIT. You
can use the mode as per your need.

  • Audio line in while recording with ipod touch

Looking at buying a 5th Gen touch to record local basketball games.  Need the ability to record the audio live broadcast into my live video of the game so I am wondering if I can use the video camera of the touch and record a seperate audio track with the video being recorded with a line in option.  I have used a sd camcorder with a line in capability playing the local radio station audio as I record but dont know it this can be done with a ipod touch.  I could use the camera app or imovie app to record but not sure if separate audio track is possible with them or will it just record from the mic of the ipod touch?

You can connect a mic to the iPod via the headphone jack and that mic will be used by the video app you use for the video camera on the iPod. I do not remember if the built-in mic gets cut off when yo do that so you may have to cover the mic hole on the iPod.

  • PCIe-1429 camera files for work with Basler spL4096-70km line camera

Hi, please help with configuring my frame grabber.
Can I find camera files for PCIe-1429, working with Basler spL4096-70km line camera ?
now generating it with NI Camera File Generator, but when checking image with MAX -
getting error if configuring with 4096 pixels,
no error if with 2048, but! I want to get the full resolution (camera
has 2 segments of 2048 pixels, 12 bit pixel depth).
Settings snip attached - please help - what is wrong? (I'm new here )

    Hi Bruce,
This is Amitai from National Instruments Israel,
Allow me to enter this conversation.
Since you have a similar camera and working, I will be happy to get advises from you in order to help Sveta.
I have contacted Sveta today, and used remote desktop connection to try your suggestion and others.
We have used the Basler Vision Technologies spL4096-70km camera file -
    http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/nipc.product?pid=11075&asid=1102
and we have changed the "InterfaceInfo" manualy in the text file, and reciceved the error : #0xBFF60056 Requested attribute is invalid.
We then followed this KB - http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/9757373FEE86D64B862573CA004FD752?OpenDocument
and edited the "Supported Image Acquisition Devices" to PCIe-1429.
    See cameraSettings.jpg file attached.
You can also see in the file, that the "PCIe-1429 Full configuration Camera Link" is grayed out.
I am wondering why  ... is it because this is the only frame grabber that is connected to the PC ? or is it because there is some issue with this frame grabber and this camera attributes ?
Following your advise earlier in the post, we chose the "2 tap interlaced vertically" Orientation.
We had success when setting smaller Acquisition windows (for example 800x1024 or 512x2 see jpeg attachments) and when we tried to reach the camera attributes 4096x2 (http://www.baslerweb.com/products/sprint.html?model=253) we got an acquisition timeout notification.
    see time-out.jpg attached.
    The NI-PCI-1433/5 has a 850 MB/s of bandwidth while the NI-PCIe-1429 has a 680 MB/s of bandwidth.
Sampling 2x4096 (which is the camera attribute that Sveta is trying to achieve) at 12-bit per pixel and with 55 fps equals 680MB/s.
Do you think the bandwidth difference can be the issue ?

  • Line-in recording with microph

    Greetings all
I have MuVo Micro mp3 player with line-in connector.
To use it for recording with microphone you need a pre-amped microphone.
I have one, battery powered electred condensor microphone, which I succesfully used before with MD-player (over line-in too). But it does not go with the Creative mp3 player. I do not know why?
Can you tell me if I need to switch an additionally amplifier between the line-in connector and the microphone or is there any other battery powered microphone to buy which will go with Creative mp3 player?
    Thanks for any apply
    Patrick

And that goes for playback too. No sound through speakers using the Line-in unless the red buttoned mutes are turned of in Audio Creation mode. That doesn't seem right. Playback from the Line-in should work from any mode. Am I doing something wrong?

  • Loading Hex Files with multiple records with each line starting with : record marker, how do I load this hex file into a front panel table ? thanks in advance, Jeff.

I have written a routine that loads a Hex file, checks for record marker, length, address etc then loads the data into a table on front panel. However, my routine only loads single record hex files. I need to be able to load multiple record files, I need to identify the ':' colon record marker start for each record in the hex file, I just can't see how to loop my routine so that all records with ':' prefix marker are loaded.

    Jeff,
I'm not exactly sure of what you are trying to do. Is it possible you could post your code, or a screen shot of the diagram in question, so that I can get a better understanding, and possibly offer some assistance?
I am familiar with hex files, but not with the : marker separating records. This may be able to be solved with simple text parsing, and as I am not familiar with how you are retrieving and/or displaying the files, I require more information.
    Thanks

  • Zen V plus line in recording with 10 minute tra

I just purchased a zen v plus specifically for recording certain programs using the line in recorder. The programs are generally /2 to 3 hours long. The problem I have is that the line in recorder breaks up the recording into 0 minute tracks. Is there a way to program or adjust the setting,so that it's not broken up into tracks?
    Thanks

When you record a track, the recorded track is automatically named LINE followed by the date and time of the recording ( LINE YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS ). For example, if you recorded a track on March 5, 2004 at 2:57 pm, the track is named >LINE 2004-03-5 4:57:00 . You can just extract the recorded track from the player and rename it when you have it connected to your computer.

  • I just want to externally record with my T410, for the love of god.

I record music using a mixer which then has an output line that can be converted into a male connector for a female mic input that pretty much most laptops have. But imagine my anguish when my Thinkpad T410 had a combo jack.
So I read basically every internet post there is and ordered a few splitters (1 male to 2 female, 1 mic and 1 headphones) and I still can't record. I bought the headset buddy, which people in the comments say works for Lenovo:
    http://www.amazon.com/Headset-Buddy-Smartphone-Computer-Blackberry/dp/B002SK66OY/ref=pd_cp_e_0
But even when I plug in my mic and headphones, it still records only from the internal mic. No external mic option exists in the control panel. I reinstalled the drivers for this several times.
I am poor, and those two cables have cost me an additional $40, for nothing. Does anyone know how I can solve this issue?!
PS. The mic male output that I'm sticking in the headset buddy has 2 black rings, I'm not sure if maybe that's the problem or not. But this is crazy, I've had 6 different brands of laptops and only came across this issue when I bought Lenovo. Thanks.

I know I have the same problem but only need audio out through a standard 3.5mm stereo jack with enough drive level for external speakers and such. This is the problem buying online. You don't see what you're getting and much of what you won't like is non disclosed and/or required hands on assessment. Its my first online purchase of a PC. I always stayed away from Dell for that reason but didn't expect to get a number of deal breakers in the T520 that were/are bad. The touch pad is bubbled surface and not smooth as it used to be. No way to know that either. Last time for me buying online and these are not worth the price.
Anyway, this should work for you. Lenovo should have provided one in every machine rather than having to fork out  for something.  The typical 2 port 3.5mm is what should be there. This is not progress or an improvement as a few other things they've done.

  • Multi-track Recording with Audigy (input level adjustment of 6 tracks)

    Hi,
Has anyone used an Audigy (or similar) to record more than 2 channels?
I have an Audigy 4, which I use for 24 bit recordings. Usually I just use 2 channels, and an ASIO4ALL v2 interface which probably uses the "WDM:SB Audigy 4 Audio [D880]" driver.
However, there's another driver I can select which is "SB Audigy 4 ASIO 24/96 [D880]", and this gives me 6 input channels corresponding to the R and L channels of the inputs line , 2 and 3. This is great, and seems to work OK, but whereas I can control the levels of the incoming signals (on line 3 L/R) with the 2 channel driver, the Creative surround mixer doesn't have any control over the input levels in the 6 channel case, so I'm stuck with having to adjust the level of the incoming signal externally.
Has anyone found a solution to this difficulty? I've updated to the latest drivers.
I'm using Windows XP pro. and the recording software is n-Track 5.1.
    Thanks,
    Peter

HI, I dont know if anyone has had this happen to them or not. I Have a MODEL # SB0090 Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy with 394 PCI Sound Card with the front controls. I have used it for years. I just re-loaded it into a new computer and loaded the new driver. When I had the old driver loaded I got a very harsh repeated ......BLAP.....BLAP.......BLAP.......BLAP it was very nasty and sounded like a cd skipping. I loaded the new driver and that got rid of the BLAP skipping thing. Now with the new driver when I bring up the windows play and record controls and when I have the Mutes all off and say for example AUX 2 selected, as soon as I arm the track in Sonar the AUX 2 on the windows play control auto mutes right before my eyes I can then de-select mute and the track stays armed, BUT as soon as I hit record it will auto mute again yet the meters still move and it still records and I am able to de-select mute again while recording and it does not effect the recording. It is a very big hassle during a recording project. ANY IDEAS WOULD BE AWESOME!!!!
Are you using ASIO (or asio4all), WDM/KS or MME32 on Sonar?
Not sure but have you checked how the "Record Without Monitoring" (or similiarly named ) option is set (Start menu, Run..., sndvol32 /r).
On Sonar you may need to enable Input ECHO ( [color="#339966"][)))]? button on track headers).

  • I want to record with X-Fi

I have to say that I am an ignorant person first of all. I discovered that my computer is one of those ghastly things that people like Dell sell with integrated audio which means that I cannot record. I have bought X-Fi to overcome this problem as it an external sound card and then installed Magix to record with but still it doesn't recognize any sound card. I am extremely fed up and wonder if anybody out there is not ignorant like me but a patient expert willing to guide me through the intricacies of soiund board lilfe. thanks very much in advance

Yes, I've tried ASIO w/ bit-matched mode. I think I've tried all combinations. I've tried also on other inputs (Aux, Aux2, Line in) - always the same. Monitoring: There are no master levels shown when I'm playing keyboard. But in Audition I've got "External monitoring" selected - is that OK? Because if I select Audition's monitoring things are OK (chanels at Creative console are muted, but I can hear and see what I'm playing), but there is big sound delay (can you tell me please why are this delays appearing). And the level meters (in Audition)are shown only at track levels, the big master levels are still not showing anything. I've tried mono/stereo recording on all inputs. In the Audition's settings I've got also an option "release ASIO driver in background" - if selected there's an option to select ASIO driver's latency (in ms). This can't be the problem right? 'Couse I've tried to enable it and there's no difference. Could be the problem that I'm using Creative ASIO driver? I've tried with all available (including Asio4all), but neither of them did't even recognize all the inputs. Thanks for your time But the strange thing is that when I press Record and go to Creative's panel and unmute the chanel everything is OK (except the master levels are not showing). But everything is OK just untill I press stop and record again. But that's the proof that it can work properly, just the start of recording is not OK. Just for info: I've told you already that in Reaper everything works - but the first time I press Record the input chanel also go muted. But when I unmute it it never goes to mute again.
