Stichwörter in Bridge in Elements 6 / MAC

Wer weiss, wie ich Stichwörter in Bridge/MAC zuordne? Bis Version 5 (Windows) ging dies durch Drag&Drop, was hier nicht zu funktionieren scheint.

Thank you Barbara for your help. I finally got rid of the trial version
and installed the purchased software after running the cleanscript. (I
did not need to create an additional user).

Stichwörter in Bridge CS3 im/exportieren

Guten Tag zusammen
ich habe ein Problem.
Wenn ich im Register "Stichwörter" das Menü aufmache, habe ich nur folgende Einträge: "Neues Stichwort - Neues Stichwortset - Umbenennen - Löschen - Suchen ...".
Die Einträge "Importieren... - Leeren und Importieren - Exportieren ..." fehlen! Ich hatte die aber schon einmal. Ich hatte damit schon einmal gearbeitet.
Was ist passiert. Was muss ich machen, damit ich meine Stichworte wieder im- und exportieren kann?

Allright. I'we installed 4,6 - I reset the camera defaults from the fly out menu, and auto tone is not on. (only the "Apply grey scale mix, when converting to greyscale")
In Bridge "High quality thumnails" is checked.

When I go into the camera calibration tab in the Camer raw panel, I get two options: ACR 2,4 or ACR 4,4.
There is no "Camera Standard profile" to choose.
When I save it, it seems like it only applys this setting to the specific image, that I have open in the camera raw panel.
I dont see how to clear the other option.
I guess, its normal, that you see a difference in jpgs and raw files, since the camera doesnt process the raw-files. I (and also an instructor at a photo workshop I attended) - just think its way too much. The instructor, beeing a professional photographer and a user of PS - couldnt figure out the problem thoug
I uploaded a couple of photos. The one at the top, is the raw file, that I opened in camera raw - did nothing to, and saved as a jpg. (this one is not too bad, but sometimes, it really messes up the colors.)
The one belowe is the jpg-version, that I just saved.

Bridge and Elements / Mac Version Compatability

On a Mac I have Bridge which came with a CS3 suite, and on my pc I have Elements 8
If I were to get Bridge on the pc:
Would it work/imoprt/replace PSE 8 Organizer?
Could I move the inages and catalogs from my Mac to the PC and import/integrate those?

bridge does not use catologs as elements does.
elements for me is a million times quicker at organising and finding pictures.
but if that catalog developes an error then it can be a pain to fix.
Bridge, updates its image database evertime its run, which is why its so so so slow....
yes it has a thumbnail database of the images but not an overal 'catalog' file.
lightroom works similar to elements and again is much better than bridge, but so long as your database in lightroom functions.
thats kind of why i personally use bridge, though i hate it as its basically so full of bugs and as said slow.
but you can drag and drop new folders without too much of a problem.
in answer to your question.
i dont think you can just load bridge.
either way it will not effect your elements catalog, there treated as two seperate programs.
as said on your mac using bridge there is no catalog
so just copy your image directorys other to your PC.
and the next time you run elements it will find the images.
you will lose keyword data, though i think you can export keywords and then import them into elements.

Bridge CS3 und Stichwörter aus CS 2

Hallo Freunde des Fotografie-Forums,
hoffe durch Eure Hilfe schell eine Lösung für mein Problem zu finden.
Habe in der vorigen Woche PS CS3/ Upprade von PS 7/ installiert.
Bis dorthin wurde CS2 genutzt und Bridge als Sortier -und Verschlagwortungstool
genutzt. Vor allem die Stichwortvergabe hat es mir angetan und meine DNG`s waren in kurzer Zeit reif für das Archiv.
Bridge CS3 erkennt zwar meine Stichwortsets und Stichwörter( neu: Stichwort und untergeordnetes Stichwort), möchte ich aber ein Stichwort durch Anklicken zuweisen übernimmt Bridge CS3 für kurze Zeit diese Eingabe und verschiebt dann das Stichwort in sonstige Stichwörter.
Habe darauf CS 2 inclusive Bridge CS2 deaktiviert und händisch vom Rechner gelöscht.
Alle Stichwörter unter Bridge CS 3 sind ebenfalls gelöscht.
Möchte ich nun die Stichwortlisten neu erstellen( alle Listen in Exeltabellen gesichert), z.B. Kategorien als Stichwort und Lebensmittel, Food, als untergeordnetes Stichwort verschwinden diese wie von Geisterhand aus meiner Liste.
Neue Stichwörter die unter CS-2 noch nicht genutzt wurden, verbleiben unter Bridge CS3 und können in gewohnter Weise verwandt werden.
Die Bridge Hilfe hat mich leider nicht schlauer gemacht.

I solved it...
Bridge will not run if there is a partition present that the current logged in user cannot access.
This means hidden, read-only, or unsupported partitions (NTFS for those with bootcamp) will cause this failure. It appears that Bridge MUST be able to read and write to every partition (including completely empty ones) at startup or it will fail without any intelligible error.
Patching only makes the crash report message disappear. Still fails until you change rights.

Wie kann ich meine Stichwörterliste in Bridge CC (Mac) komplett(!) löschen???
Ich möchte eine komplett neue Struktur anlegen.
Habe auch schon Bridge deinstalliert und dann neu installiert.
Die Stichwörter bleiben dabei aber erhalten.

Hm muss ich eine Datei denn nicht erstmal irgendwie öffnen können bevor ich die exportieren kann ?! Oder kann ich dazu ein anderes Programm nutzen bzw einfach die Dateiendung umbenennen?
In der Datei befinden sich bei paar Bilder(verknüpft). Es sind alles JPEG oder TIFF Dateien. Schriften verwende ich in der Regel über TypeKit. Die Wiederherstellungsversuche von InDesign versuchen auch ständig irgendwas mit den Textrahmen zu machen. Was genau kann ich da leider nicht genau sagen =/....

Import Stichwörter Dateibrowser CS in Bridge CS2

auch wenn im englischen FAQ die Anleitung steht, so ist es mir doch nicht gelungen nach dieser Anleitung das Problem in der deutschen Version CS2 zu lösen.
Also, wer kann helfen? Ich möchte die Stichwörter aus der Datei Stichwörter.psp (Dateimanager der CS Version)in Bridge CS2 Version importieren. Die automatische Konvertierung bei Neustart von Bridge (Adobe Bridge Keywords.xml vorher gelöscht) passiert so nicht.

Exportiere doch die Stichwörter, mit den anderen Metadaten als XMP-Sidecar-File im Ordner wo die Dateien gespeichert sind. Soviel ich mich erinnern kann, ist das eine Voreinstellung im Dateibrowser, wo man einstellen kann, ob diese Daten zentral oder verteilt gespeichert werden. Ist halt schon sehr lange her Photoshop CS. Diese Sidecar-Files werden dann auch von Bridge CS2 und CS3, bzw. Lightroom eingelesen.
Noch besser wäre es meiner Ansicht nach, die XMP-Daten in die Dateien hineinzuschreiben. Das geht aber bei PSCS noch nicht bei so vielen Dateiformaten wie das mit der aktuellen Version geht.

No, PSE 8 was the last mac version to include bridge. From 9 on, it's organizer, just like in windows.

Migrating from Windows (Adobe PE + Bridge(?)) to Mac (iPhoto + Adobe PE)

I have a family member who is thinking about switching from Windows to a Mac. She is currenlty using Adobe stuff on Windows (PE 4) where she edits and organizes her photo's.
I've set her up for trial with one of my Macs with PE 4 installed. Now the question is, will she be using iPhoto or Adobe Bridge on the Mac and what is more important, how can she migrate in either situation?
Personally, I think iPhoto/PE is the best solution, but how should she migrate her Windows photo database to het Mac and might migrating to Adobe bridge not be easier?

If Photo Bridge can write the metadata, primarily the keywords, to the files then importing the folders that the file are located in will create rolls in iPhoto with the same title as those folder. Also the keywords should be read by iPhoto and included in its database.
As you know iPhoto is a image management application but one with the additional features of slideshows, books,etc. It can group photos by whatever criteria the user want. Bridge is primarily a browser type application.
To migrate her Windows photos to iPhoto she should first copy the folders of image files to the Mac. Then download and run BatChmod on each folder with the settings shown here, putting your administartive name in the owner and group sections. You can either type in the path to the folder or just drag the folders into that field. This will assure that the permissions/ownership are properly set before importing into iPhoto.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB file backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. The D610 needs ACR 8.3 so you are easily covered there. I am not entirely clear on the process you are using the bring the files onto your hard drive. The safest way is to simply bring all the NEF files into a folder on your hard drive, then find them with bridge and open from there.
If still stuck, open Photoshop, and go Help > About plugins > Camera RAW and check that 8.7 installed OK.

Bridge and Elements 11

Is it possible to buy the last version of bridge having Elements 11? I have an old version that was included in Elements 8.
In Elements 11 is included Organiser tha is very unfrendly and complicate.
Bridge was fantastic to browse, organise and navigating.
The possibility to buy Bridge as an "App" to be added to Elements would be Super!

The option Curt provided would be nice but I'm not sure this would work. However, you can try it yourself because you seem to have both Elements 8 and 11.
Under Bridge preferences is a tab called File Type Associations where you can set the file types to open in using Bridge. If it works Elements 11 should be in the list to choose from.
Photoshop CC is like CS& or not. It's not so clear for me!
Like Elements has a new number after each upgrade so does Photoshop. ONly Adobe chose to put all applications under a collective name Creative Suite or CS. The latest version of this was CS6 and inhere is Photoshop version 13 and Bridge version 5. But as said aka CS6.
Now Adobe changed its policy and now distributes all applications through the Creative Cloud (aka CC).
Inhere is PS version 14 and Bridge version 6 amongst many other applications with each their own version number. I don't know if there will be a CC2 in the future but we will find out eventually..

Could you see whether Firefox will start in its Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
Here's how:
With Firefox closed, hold down the Shift key while starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset).

Hi, I want to know why can't I preview svg files in bridge cs6 on mac 10.6.8. It's really frustrating as an increasing number of Illustrator files are saved in this format and I need to check through a gazillion of them. Help!

That was the reason why the thumbnail icons weren't showing up in Bridge. Saving to include XMP data somehow brings in the previews in Bridge.
I don't really need SVG files for print jobs (prefer .eps or .ai), however this appears to be the preferred file format at the picture library where I bought the vector images.
Darn, I was hoping that was not the solution, as in order to view the images in Bridge, I will first have to open and re-save them.
Seems painful but thanks all the same. Would there be a way in Bridge to batch open and re-save files in another format, say from .svg to .ai ?

Where's Bridge on my Mac?

I can't find Adobe Bridge on my Mac. I'm a subscriber to Creative Cloud (CS6). When you use the Adobe Application Manager to download all of the respective apps from the Cloud, Bridge is not there, although, supposedly, it comes in with either Illustrator or InDesign, I forget which. But, it's not on my Mac anywhere. How can I get it?

Zugewiesene stichwörter in photoshop cs

ich habe nun schon zum wiederhalten mal das problem, das die mühsam aufgebaute stichwortdatei zur becshreibung von fotos plötzlich verschwunden ist und wieder "geleert" wurde. ich muß dann alle stichworte im programm wieder neu anlegen.
ich vermute mal, das diese stichworte (Stichwörter-Palette) in einer bestimmten datei im programm abgelegt werden und die möglichkeit besteht, diese datei regelmäßig einfach zu sichern und im bedarfsfall wieder zu verwenden.
kann mir jemand sagen, in wlecher datei die stichworte abgespeichert werden?

After installing, reboot holding down CMD+s, (+s), then when the DOS like prompt shows, type in...

At least it'll eliminate some questions if it doesn't fix it.
The 6 things it does are...
Correct any Disk problems.
Repair Permissions.
Clear out Cache Files.
Repair/check several plist files.
Dump the VM files for a fresh start.
Trash old Log files.
First reboot will be slower, sometimes 2 or 3 restarts will be required for full benefit... my guess is files relying upon other files relying upon other files! :-)
Disconnect the USB cable from any Uninterruptible Power Supply so the system doesn't shut down in the middle of the process.

Do not store them in the Cloud. It isn't really storage. For iTunes purchases, for example, it is just re-downloading a purchase. If a label decides to no longer make the item available it will disap[pear from the cloud and that will be it for you.
You can't store items on an external drive simply by dragging them there. That's too complicated for iTunes and how it is set up to work. I know I post on this 10x a week and there's many other posts discussing this. I suggest you browse a bit first. Your options are basically to either put your whole library on the eternal drive (which is a nuisance if you don't want to drag it everywhere with you), or to copy individual items to the external drive, delete them from the internal drive, then re-add them as new items (re-adding to playlists, etc.).
