Sticking objects to a background

I posted this message sometimes ogo to another newsgroup but
is was probably to a right place.
I am working on an application, in which some cities are
placed on a map (background). These cities and their coordinates
shall come from a data base.
Everything works except that the cities move from their
postion when the map is enlarged.
The map is done for me by my friend, who does not have now
too much time to study deeply the problem. He has probably a
trouble to find some solution for it. Therefore I am searching for
the way to help him.
Which function or command shall be used to to assure right
city position?
There is also some strange effect with lines (connections),
when the map is enlarged. These lines sometimes move strange way.
The map you can see on a page:
http://faw0r.livenet.pl/p/mapa
Any idea how to solve the problem?
regards
Marek

if your map has a center registration point, scaling the map
will maintain the relative positions of objects attached to the
map.

  • How do I cut out imported objects and make background transparent?

    Illustrator CS3.
    I have embedded a jpeg picture which I need to cut out and make the background transparent. How do I do this? An opacity mask? How do I create a mask the same shape as the object I need to cut out? The object needs central pieces cut out too. Please help!

    Opacity mask of clipping path are the two ways to do this in Illustrator. Photoshop is the ideal program for this task.

  • How to create a live trace object with transparent background?

    Hi, I am trying to create a live trace object of my logo in ai. The logo is coming from photoshop on a transperent background, and it is all black. What I want to do is to bring it into ai and make it an object for obvious reasons. The problem I have had is that when I live trace it, the live trace leaves a white background which then overlaps with other objects in my ai file. Is there a way to live trace while preserving the transparent area or possibly better, to not include white space in the live trace? Thanks in advance!

    Yep open the properties for live trace (Object>Live Trace>Tracing options). You will find a checkbox for ignore white.

  • Detect the centerpoint of an object on grey background

    I have many photos I want to center my crop script.
    It is done already, but now I want to more:
    Is it possible to detect the top right down left sides of the object in the grey background and give me the x,y center of this object?
    The object is always surrounded by grey background.
    The grey background is almost allways similar and with no dust (almost...).
    I can imagine that I could create a rough tile selection (larger or smaller), move it on all the image to read the colour and leave what is similar with the first lefttop reading. Then select al the remains: my object.
    But something tells me that there is an easy and smart way of doing this with not much processor saturation.

    Doesn't work. I only do this when the backgroung is flat color.
    My grey background has smooth variations and it trims the image on all of it, not only the object.
    It should be helpful if the trim dialogue could have a fuzziness % to tell what I want to really select.

  • Graphics object with transparent background

    Ive been trying to create an image using a graphics object, which i want to have a transparent background. I have been researching on the net and have come up with something like this, but its not really getting the job done. Im still getting an image with a black background. The image will always be 200 by 100 pixels.
    public void drawGraph(Graphics2D g,int a,int b, int d)
             Composite oldComp = g.getComposite();
             Composite alphaComp = AlphaComposite.getInstance( AlphaComposite.CLEAR);
             g.setComposite(alphaComp);
             g.fillRect(0,0,200,100);
             g.setComposite(oldComp);
    <<OTHER STUFF DRAWN HERE>>
          }Any tips would be greatly appreciated thanks.

    Create a BufferedImage like this:
    int width = 200;
    int height = 200;
    BufferedImage yourImage = new BufferedImage(width, height, BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_ARGB);

  • Blue object on green background for green screen effect?

    Hi. I am inserting an image into my video and need the background to be invisible. I use the green screen/blue screen feature, but it doesn't work because the picture I am using is of a blue object. A blue object on a green background. The green background disappears but the blue object turns brown. Is there any way I can exclude my blue object from the green screen/blue screen effect? Thank you.

    Trying to reenact your problem .... no luck, green screen works :
    ok, my 'green screen' is a graphic, offering the perfect green-bg
    can you apply a screen-shot of your green-screen recording in your next post?
    maybe, your blue is too greenish… ?
    Play with the color-correction tool (red arrows)… maybe you can fix it that way....

  • Deleting an object in the background

    Looking on the internet it seems I should use a tool called content aware to remove this object; however, I am unable to find that tool in Photoshop Elements 10. How do I remove an object from a picture in this program?

    Generally speaking, there are three ways:
    1. Open a blank layer at the top in your stack of layers in the layers palette, then use the clone tool to cover the object that you wish to hide from view.
    2. Make a selection from an adjacent area with one of the selection tools, place the selection on a new layer, then with the move tool slide the "patch" over the object in order to hide it
    3. Use the recompose tool.
    If you are so inclined, post the picture here for targeted guidance. You can do that via the camera icon at the top of the reply box. You can not do it in an e-mail reply, however.

  • I want to color the serround of an object to green background so i can put the objecto from thr movie in any background that i want. is there an easy way to do that?

    hi.
    i have an existing video of my baby, and i want to change the background, as if she were really in front of a green screen.
    i tried in it adobe after effects but i had to walk through all the frames and color the background to green (and it worked just fine).
    but, as you can imagine it tool alon long long time.
    is there any optio doing it in motion 5 or final cut?

    that is the only way to accomplish that (rotoscoping).
    for a (color)key you need a solid colored background, black, white or any color.
    I'm using here a 4€ fleece blanket and it (mostly…) works like charme - FCXP/M5 color-keying is very convenient to use.

  • Removing objects in the background of imovie

    After a nights worth of filming, i realised that in one of my scenes, you can see the tripod in the background and i was just wondering if there was anyway i could remove it. I don't want to crop the scene because its right in the middle of the frame and i need the surroundings of it. Is it possible to just like colour it out or something?
    Any suggestions?

    You'll probably get more knowledgeable answers in one of the iMovie forums. But, I would guess that you would need more powerful editing software such as Final Cut Express or Pro or similar to do such a thing.

  • Question about cutting out an object/removing white background

    Hello,  I will start this by saying that I am very new to photoshop.  Any input will be appreciated.
    What I am having trouble with is cutting a part of a picture out and the resulting white box that comes with the picture cutout.  Here is what I mean.
    I make a selection out of a picture and cut it out from the backround, like for example cutting a person out of a photo.  I cut the person out with the magic wand and what remains is the transparent background.  I then save as psd.  I then place the image in INDesign into a publication with a background color of say blue and have no problems there with the cutout of the person blending into the blue background.  Once the psd image is placed in INDesign I can move the image around anywhere in the publication and it blends in perfectly.  So all is good up until this point.  Here is where my problem is.
    Say I want to paste this image into a website, like a dreamweaver page and say the website page has a blue background.  I go to insert, image, and select the image psd to insert to the page.  What happens now is that the image inserts cutout person with a white background box and does not blend in with the blue background like I want.  The same thing happens if I insert as a gif or jpeg.
    What am I missing here to paste the photo in and NOT have this annoying white background?
    Thank you in advance for help!

    In Photoshop use File > Save for Web & Devices and choose the GIF or the PNG format.
    Note that the PNG has two versions, 8 bit  or 24 bit.
    Check the tranparency checkbox.
    PNG (24 bit) provides the best result but also the largest file size.

  • How to remove an object from its background with mocha

    Hello,
    I have th Mocha version that comes along with Adobe After Effects CS5.5. Does this cersion has the remove tool?
    Thank you..

    You can track things, create masks, export the masks, remove backgrounds, and do a bunch of really amazing things with the version of Mocha that comes with AE, you just can't drop a clip into the included version of Mocha and render out a composite. There are also other goodies in Mocha Pro.
    I'd suggest that you go through a fist full of Mocha tutorials. There are a bunch of good ones on the Imagineer Systems site. Try filtering the results by Mocha AE.

  • Removing an object from a background

    Hi all need some help. Creating a digital mood board for my homework. Need to cut out and display items on the mood board. When I try and remove for example a couch from its surroundings it works but then I try and move it over to Microsoft works and the white background comes back. How do I keep it so that the image of only the couch comes over and not the background!
    Help it's driving me crazy
    Stephanie

    Are you using masks to cut out the couch or actually deleting pixels? If you are using a mask, you will need to apply the layer mask.
    Here I have an image that has a mask over it—imagine that the circle is your couch that you have "cut out" using a layer mask. The rest of the image is still there, but is blocked from view by the mask. When you apply the layer mask, it merges the mask with your image and gets rid of all of the parts of the image blocked out by the mask.
    Control click on the layer in your layers panel to open a flyout. Choose apply layer mask.
    Result:
    So, at this point you will then be in the same part of the process as if you can deleted all of the image surrounding the "couch." Now you save the image as a .png.
    Please let me know if this works for you!

  • Extracting an object from a background to discard

    Hi , I have an image and in the background there is a person who is blocking something which I want to be visible
    Which tool would be the best to use.
    I dont think the magic extractor will do the job as that will highlight the person I'm trying to get rid of ?
    Thanks for your help
    Dennett1953

    You really need a second photo which has the item being blocked, otherwise it's impossible.

  • Moving foreground objects separated from background ones in still photos?

    I want to take some photos into PS and extract the foreground objects onto new layers so I can bring them into PP and animate the foreground objects (scale/pan).
    1. What is this technique called?
    2. Anyone know any good tutorials on this?
    Thanks.

    Hi SW Form,
    Point your favorite search engine to the following phrase, "the kid stays in the picture effect." That should work for you. BTW, much better to do this work in After Effects so that you can simulate the 3D space.
    Thanks,
