Sticky Layer?

Hi,
I design a lot of digital products with fixed positioned objects.
Is there a way of simulating for example a sticky navigation in Photoshop? That would be awesome.
Just a checkbox saying "Fixed" on each layer or group to make it stick when scrolling thru the design.
Then everyone would get out of the hassle to build html mockups all the time.

Yes, there are many examples out there. The first that came to mind was vogue.com.
To simulate that navigation bar sticking to the top when you scroll, inside the psd as a layer or a group.

  • Sticky Layer Move Redraw

    New computer, same software (AE CS6).   This laptop has an Nvidia GeForce GT 750M in it, running Windows 8.1.  Nvidia driver 9.18.13.3221.
    If I start to move a layer it won't move for a brief moment - but then then layer "catches up" to where I've dragged it to/where the cursor is.  Then, with the mouse button pressed, the redraw is zippy speedy so long as the layer is moving, but if I pause and stop moving the layer - mouse button still pressed - it sticks again when I restart moving the layer.     It's like 1 thru 10 but instead of 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10     the layer goes  1........6 7 8 9 10, skipping 2 3 4 and 5, which is terrible when you're making small adjustments.
    Suspecting switchable graphics I disabled the onboard Intel graphics in the Device Manager.
    I went to the Nvidia settings and manually set it to always use the Nvidia card.  No luck.
    Anyone else experience this?  My old laptop / Nvidia combination didn't have this problem.  Everything else on the laptop is zoomzoom with the 16GB RAM, SSD drive etc.
    Thought there might be a "how After Effects uses OpenGL" etc etc etc setting in AE I'm missing.

    And this happens with the slider scrubbers too - not just the move "tool" in the Comp viewer.
    For instance, I just went to scrub spin dial in a Rotation value and as I rotated the layer, same thing - sticky stuck at the start and then fine fine fine so long as I kept dragging but then as soon as I slowed down enough or paused, the layer stuck again as it rotated in the viewport.   It's like it's quantum jumping - it's just popping to a position / rotation instead of travelling there...

    Hi,
    A new requirement with our client to run Instant Messaging (chat) servers behind CSS. Need to load balance between pool of "Microsoft Live Communications Server 2005 with SP1 Enterprise Edition".
    Have anyone tried these servers behind a CSS?
    What adv-bal sticky would you recommend. MS recommends a TCP-level affinity. I could not find anything other that src-ip-dest-port. Any help much appreciated.

    I would use layer 4 sticky.
    Using Layer 4 Sticky
    Layer 4 sticky functions identically to Layer 3 sticky, except that it sticks based on a combination of source IP address, protocol, and destination port. Layer 4 sticky also uses a sticky table and has the same limitations as Layer 3 sticky.
    If the CSS sees the same IP address with two different destination ports, it will use two entries. You can also apply sticky mask to Layer 4 sticky.
    If you are concerned about whether your site can handle all of the simultaneous sessions, then consider using the Layer 5 advanced-balanced methods of arrowpoint-cookie, cookie, cookieurl, or url.

  • ACE: Can I loadbalance based on client Source IP/and client tcp source port?

    We recently migrated serving a client from being thick client at the desktop to being served via a citrix farm.  Prior to the migration the clients came from about 5000 unique source IP's to their VIP, now they come from only 31 unique source IP's from the citrix servers in the farm. A citrix server can host 400 client sessions, since the default action of the ACE is to loadbalance based on source IP's, the ACE is sending up to 400 sessions from one citrix server to 1 real server in the farm.  Is there anyway I can loadbalance based on client source IP and tcp source port so the ACE views the 400 sessions from one citrix server as unique sessions?  The application does not require persistence.

    Unfrotunately I do not have any working example. You must calculate the right values for the Offset and the Length to configure.

  • DPS: pinch and zoom function not working on all pages within folio (v30 tools using the pdf setting). What would cause some pages to pinch and zoom fluidly, while other pages appear a bit sticky? Could it be a button on the wrong layer?

    If I configure layer 3 sticky and specify the inactivity timeout as below, how does the CSS
    handle subsequent needed sticky requests ?

    If you use the sticky-inact-timeout command to specify the inactivity timeout

    My question is what is the next reaction by doing the CSS if the CSS is in the
    following condition:
    when the sticky table becomes full and none of the entries have expired from
    the sticky table, the CSS rejects subsequent needed sticky requests
    Does CSS just rejects/drops subsequent needed sticky requests ?
    or
    Does CSS does not stick subsequence requests to particular service but CSS forward
    subsequence requests with round-robin basis ? which means if the sticky table is full,
    the CSS just works round-robin load balancing fashion for subsequence requests ?

    It depends if the sticky-inact-timeout is used or not. If not, it's FIFO (the oldest entry in the sticky table is removed). If yes, the CSS will reject the next sticky request.

  • Trying to understand SSL sticky with CSS 11506 / ssl-l4-fallback behavior

    Dear experts
    I have a CSS 11506 (v7.50) which is used to load balance several SSL-based sites. We use the following textbook content rule:

    If I read the manual correctly, SSL L3 session IDs are going to be used till a flow is set up. Then the ssl-l4-fallback (it is enabled) directive kicks in and load balancing is done based on the source IP, destination port.
    However, my stats show:
    Sticky Statistics - SFM Slot 1, Subslot 1:
    Total number of new sticky entries is 4937735
    Total number of sticky table hits is 33476045
    Total number of sticky rejects (no entry) is 0
    Total number of sticky collision is 0
    Total number of available sticky entries is 0
    Total number of used sticky entries is 131071
    Total L3 sticky entries are 131
    Total L4 sticky entries are 0
    Total SSL sticky entries are 130940
    Total WAP sticky entries are 0
    Total number of SIPCID sticky entries is 0
    So, why don't I see anything in the L4 sticky entries?
    Also, I would expect that once the ssl-l4-fallback kicks in, a client will be always directed to the same server (since the CSS uses now source IP, dest port for load balancing). However, if I close and start again my browser I hit a different server.
    Your thoughts and suggestions are highly appreciated.

    Thank you for your response. If I may ask the group for a final further clarification, so as to put this matter to rest. Since there are a lot of frames transmitted in either direction, I would expect the following to be happening and overriding the use of SSLv3 session IDs. Following is the section of the manual that seems to contradict what you say (and I see on the stats). Am I reading the manual wrong?

  • Question about when L3 sticky information is removed on CSS

    I have a question about L3 sticky on CSS.
    I understand L3 sticky takes effect on the following situations,
    1: until expiring inactive timer
    2: until sticty table full
    and
    3: until the connection disconnect by receiving RST or FIN from client or real server
    The "3:" means that CSS maintains sticky connection between specific client IP address
    to real server (L3 stickty) when CSS has its information on sticky table.
    And CSS has removed it from sticky table if CSS receive RST or FIN even if the inactive timer
    abot its connection has not expired.
    That is, CSS removed L3 sticky information from sticky table when CSS receive
    RST or FIN from client or real server even if inactive timer has not expired and
    in this situation, the next new connection from same client IP address is processed with
    normal load balancing, in the result, the new connection from same client IP address
    forwards other real server.
    Is my understanding correct ?
    Or CSS maintains L3 sticky information on the sticky table until the situation meets
    "1:" or "2:" even if CSS receive RST or FIN ?

    What point number 3 means is the layer 3 sticky will take effect when a connection disconnect message is received from a client or a real server. This connection disconnect is received in the form of RST or FIN messages from the real server or the client.

  • Muse - need to force a graphic sticky to stay with moving navigation...

    I just created this Muse website:

    The logo in the upper left hand corner (WE - Change the Game) wont stay inside of the header navigation and leaves when the user scrolls down - it doesnt stay sticky with the rest of the menu as the user scrolls down and around the site.  How do I force this image to stay inside of the header so that it scrolls all the way through the website?

    Make sure that your logo is in the same layer as your header content in your layers panel.
    Then either group the logo with your header content or use the scroll motion on the logo with the exact same settings at the rest of the header.

  • CSS restore sticky ssl

    Hi everyone,
    I am facing a strange issue. I have a SSLv3 service running on two servers behind a pair of(active-standby) CSS 11501, wich do advance-balance ssl. Few days ago I noticed that the CSS stopped the LB and start sending he request to only one server( both alive). I think that is hapening due to the SSL-layer 4 fallback. How do I verify it , and restore stickyness with session ID?

    Further observations:
    issueing the commnd ssl-l4-fallback disable, restores the load balance. This means, I think, that the l4-fallback was activated. The questions remaiins, why, if we are using ssl v3? why the l4 sticky table has no entries. Here is a ssldump example:

  • Problem: curve adjustment layer in cs4

    Ive upgraded to CS4 and I have found that the curves Adjustment layer runs slow and sticky and Its difficult to make fine adjustments. (the regular curves window works fine but you cant save it as an adjustment layer) I am running 10.5.6 on a 2x3 GHz Dual-core intel with 9gb of ram, a scratch disk of raid 0 with 500gb of freespace. This should not be a problem for my machine. is there a setting I am missing or is CS4 no good?

    I understand your annoyance about this. I didn't say it doesn't work, it does.
    "fine, critical moves that are intuitive and subtle" that's the problem with the new adjustments panel, it is more difficult to make these fine adjustments, still possible just less responsive. You can still bring up the old dialog.
    Did you do a search to find my explanation of how to use CS3 to create Actions that will bring up the modal dialog? I'm not going to take the time to explain it again, if you haven't done this. There is also a Configurator panel that John Knack posted has two buttons 'create new curve' and 'edit existing curve'. Configurator is a new app that Adobe have introduced. Read all the discussions so far on the forum.

    Could you please advice the CSS content configured with stickiness SSL ID and balance method round robin is recommended configuration or not.Are there are any issues with SSL stickiness with the browsers i.e IE .

    There are two issues
    Some versions of IE (5.0, 5.5 --check http://support.microsoft.com/directory/article.asp?ID=KB;EN-US;Q265369) will
    cause the client to change its SSL ID every 2 minutes and this will break
    stickyness with application ssl and advanced balance SSL as this is layer 5
    stickyness based on SSL session ID. A sniffer trace from the client will
    show the ID field change.
    You have to be aware that SSL stickiness will only work with SSL v3,
    because it comes with the session ID not encrypted. SSL v2 comes with the session ID encrypted and you can't do stickyness
    based on that version.So your appliaction servers must be using SSL v3, if you want to use SSL ID based stickiness.

  • CSS Sticky-table analysis

    We have a CSS 11503 at 7.4.2.02.
    It has a number of L3 Sticky rules.
    The users or rather their workstations are working 24 x 7.
    We would like to work out what is the best sticky-inact-timeout value to use so that we can gracefully close a server (weight = 0) and drain the sticky entries for that backend server.
    It would be good to have more information about the life of the sticky-entry in the table. For example when it was first loaded and perhaps the maximum elapsed time value.
    Are there any debug commands that can get more information on the sticky-table entries?
    Or has anyone got any other ideas on how to find out how long it would take to drain a server without actually setting the weight to zero and seeing what happens?
    My last thought is to change the sticky-inact-timeout value on the rule. As I understand it this change, which appears to be dynamic will only impact new sticky sessions. So a show sticky-table should show the new value for new entries where previous sessions elapsed time has exceeded the old value. Measuring the time taken from the change to the rule to the time that the majority of sessions have shifted to the new timeout value should give an indication of the time it would take to drain the majority of users off the server to be closed.
    If this is true then the only problem is how to interrogate the sticky-table which can only be paged at 100 entries a time and does not seem to be filterable in normal CLI. Hence the request for more info on Debug mode.

    thanks for the response.
    However, what I am trying to acheive is a little more than see the sticky-entries as they are displayed using the standard show sticky-table command.
    For Layer three sticky entries even if you filter on IP address, you get a single entry in the standard 1 line format. I actually would like to see all entries with a given set of characteristics.
    Also for SSL sticky entries there is a Hash argument that allows the ability to see much more information for an individual entry. I cannot find an equivalent for Layer 3 sticky entries.
    The inability to search the whole table for certain characteristics without devizing a script with a loop on page count is giving us some interesting challenges. The abscence of information about statistics/timers on each flow is also a bit of a barrier for diagnosis.
    Hence the request for more information about the sticky-table debug facilities.

  • ACE Stickiness Question

    Hi Folks,
    First of all I am new the job and have very little ACE expierence. I work on a large campus. We have to 6513's with an ACE blade in each. A few contexts configured for different applications. Basically the server guys have come to me and asked me to enabled stickiness on one of there contexts.
    Now I am sure this is basic stuff to ye guys but I am just wondering what I need to do? Can I implement this on the fly without causing an outage? I have cut and paste  the relevant context below. And added the changes I think that need to be made. Do you guys think this will work and will it cause any outage?

    I am really lost on this and only getting this from looking at stickiness on other configs. Can you guys advise will this work.

    Autogenerating a MAC Address for a VLAN Interface
    By default, the ACE does not allow traffic from one context to another  context over a transparent firewall. The ACE assumes that VLANs in  different contexts are in different Layer 2 domains, unless it is a  shared VLAN. The ACE allocates the same MAC address to the VLANs.
    When you are using a firewall service module (FWSM) to bridge traffic  between two contexts on the ACE, you must assign two Layer 3 VLANs to  the same bridge domain. To support this configuration, these VLAN  interfaces require different MAC addresses.
    To enable the autogeneration of a MAC address on a VLAN interface, use the mac address autogenerate command in interface configuration mode. The syntax of this command is as follows:
    mac address autogenerate
    For example, enter:
    host1/Admin(config-if)# mac address autogenerate
    To disable MAC address autogeneration on the VLAN, use the no mac address autogenerate command. For example, enter:
    host1/Admin(config-if)# no mac address autogenerate
