Sticky notes icon position

Is there any way to position sticky notes icon more accurately on the page?
Default anchor point of the note is the center of an icon, not the tip of the arrow below or some corner. Consequently, the icon covers some of the text or small graphics and at low zoom level you can't see exactly which text the note is concerning.
We lose a lot of time zooming in and out on pages with large amount of relatively small text, icons or pictograms and with many comments on it, sent from our customer. Because they have smaller monitors, they see the position of the note a bit different than us and it takes time for us to figure out what they're actually commenting.
This has been a pain in the back for us as far as I can remember.
If there is nothing we can do, let this post be a sort of a feature request. ;)
Thanks,
Tomaz

Thanks. Of course I know the note can be moved.
The problem is, if the icon is on top of a block of small text, the icon can cover 3 or 5 lines of text and you have too zoom in to see which line it belongs to. I can't move it before I see where it belongs.
It becomes annoying if you have 20+ notes on a page and 60 pages of text.
I hope I've explained my problem understandably.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.4.6 Sticky Note Icons are huge and can not resize

My coworker is having a problem with the size of the Sticky Note (comments) Icon.  It is huge and we can not resize.
When you open the icon, it takes up the whole page.  We can change the Font size, but the actual icon will not resize.
The same document opened up from someone else, the icon views normal. We all have Adobe Acrobat Pro V9.4.6.  Any suggestions on a fix?
    Thank You.

    JimJSC,
Your reply also helped fix a problem I had with not being able to resize sticky notes. My original display resolution meant that the resize symbols in the lower corners of the sticky note weren't accessible. In Acrobat X, the setting is under Acrobat, Preferences, Page Display, Resolution.

  • How to move the sticky note in adobe touch reader?

The sticky note in adobe touch reader is automatically places right in the middle of the page. How can i move it ?
If it helps, im using windows surface rt
any help would be appreciated... thank you

When Adobe Reader Touch opens a sticky note, it places the open sticky note right in the middle of the screen like this.
(Click the image above to enlarge.)
But it does NOT mean that the sticky note itself has to be placed in the middle of a page.  You can move it to anywhere within a page.
To move a sticky note, select it with a mouse or your finger and start moving to where you want.  Please note that you cannot move a sticky note outside a page.
Once you select it, the sticky note icon becomes bigger with the blue border to indicate that it's ready to be moved.

  • Desktop icons position not kept

Hi. I'm using 10.6.2 and sometimes (not all) when I start my machine, the desktop icons (which I have arranged by snap to grid) are not where they used to be the last time I was with the cmputer on but they all show up aligned on the right of the screen, next to the hard drive icons in columns. I did not yet find a patteen like "this only happens if I have the computer turned of more than X x or y hours". Sometimes I leave for a couple of days and the icons are good when I come back. Sometimes just a few hours with the computer turned off and the icons position is not kept. Other time is the other way around.
Any ideas? Someone with the same issue?
    Thanks.

I had this problem, too, and brought it up with a "Genius" this morning. His solution -- which seems to have worked -- was first to show hidden files (using a utility or Terminal, as described elsewhere) and then delete the .DS_Store file which now appears on the desktop. The file rebuilt itself, and the icons now stay where I put them after a restart or relaunch of the Finder. You should rehide the hidden files once you've done this.
I had previously tried resetting the PRAM and deleting a couple of plist files from the Preferences Library, which other people had recommended, but those solutions didn't work. This did. Thanks, Geniuses in Emeryville.

  • Icon view, icon position not kept

Most of my files are displayed in icon view. I have group them in positions easy to remember.
Since upgrading to SL every now and then a folder (or two) will have the icons ordered by name and positioned in a grid even if I haven't give that command.
Since this is annoying is there a solution to avoid that finder behavior?

ok, that may be the reason for not keeping the icon positions but who except the finder will be responsible for a corrupt .DS_store file?
There are other Finder problems not only on my MacBook Pro but also on the MacBooks running in our household since we upgraded to SL. These problems usually result in a spinning ball of death and one has to press the ON switch to restart the Mac.
I haven't seen such issues in all previous upgrades from Mac OS X onwards. This is really disappointing since the SL upgrade was announced as a minor one but now it turns out as a nightmare to me.

  • How do I search for sticky notes in a PDF doc?

Several people (at work) have commented on a 440-page document that I created, using sticky notes to write their comments in. When I first open the document, the sticky notes are all closed. The icon for a closed sticky note is pretty small and not brightly colored, so they're easy to miss when scrolling through hundreds of image-heavy pages. I am hoping that it's possible to search for each occurrence of a sticky note.
If there is no way to search for the notes, is there a command I can use to open all the notes in the file (in one action) so that they are larger and easier to spot?
    Platform: Windows 8 PC
    Version: Acrobat 8
If this is not a feature available in Acrobat 8, is it possible to do this in later versions?
Apologies if this is not the right community for this question, but none of the ones listed seemed like the obvious choice, and there is no "miscellaneous" or "general" category. If there is a better community for the question, please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Joyce.

Out the gate you've a problem.
The Acrobat 8 product family passed into "End of Support" many years ago (well before the release of Windows 8).
"End of Support" means -- well, just that eh.
The Acrobat 8 product family is not compatible with Windows 8.1, 8 or 7.
The Acrobat XI product family is compatible with Windows 8 / 8.1.
Regarding Comment and Mark Up Annotations:
With Acrobat 8 Pro use the "Comments List".
Same wit Acrobat 9 Pro, X Pro and XI Pro.
May be available with the various versions' "Standard" release.
The contents of a Comments List can be exported to a PDF report.
The filter an be used to display specific characteristics / attributes which then become the reports content when you output a report.
Having "8" the Help PDF file got loaded with the install of "8".
Use it to review the information provided on the Comments List.

  • Is there a good "Sticky note app that ACTUALLY put a Sticky Note on my iPad ( over my existing wallpaper images) on either the Home or Lock screens like how the Stickies app works on a Mac?

    I have an iPad 3.
I tried two, One was a worthless piece of junk I wasted $2.99 on and the other is pretty good ($1.99) except is does not do a function I would like to use as advertised ( which is to create a sticking note that works like an app by creating an icon sized version of the original created sticky note, then  clicking on an app icon size version of the originally created sticky note that you can tap on like an app and a large sticky note is supposed to appear. This does NOT work with an iPad.
Does anyone use a Stickies app for IOS that works exactly like how the Stickies app works on a Mac?
What good is a Stickies note app on iOS when it cannot put actual virtual stickies notes over the main IOS screens and wallpapers and remain there until they are no longer needed?
Does any one use a good stickies app on iPad? NOT iPhone or iPod Touch.

It really cannot be done in iOS due to the sandboxed security model of the operating system. No app can modify the "desktop" like that - they can only display their own "virtual" desktop when actually actively in use.  so any stickie note app is the same as any simple note app - it must be open and active to display content. It cannot modify any screen but it's own when active.

  • How to find icon position of currently executed VI on caller's block diagram

    Dear forum,
I currently try to use a LabVIEV VI as a simple sequencer: Several (very slow) actions have to execute one after another. Each action is represented by a Sub-VI, some actions are executed several times. My task is to visualize the currently executed Sub-VI somehow.
My first intention (simply manipulate the icon of the currently running VI with "VI Icon.Get as Image Data" / "VI Icon.Set from Image Data" invoke nodes) failed, because this changes the icon of ALL instances of this VI; if you use the same VI several times, the icons of all these VI are changed (see here: http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/How-to-change-animate-icon-of-currently-running-VI/m-p/3120754/highl...
My current approach is to use an image of the block diagram (with "VI: Block Diagram: Get Image Scaled" invoke method) within a picture control of the front panel and to work within this control. But for this I need to know the position of the icon of the currently executed VI. I know that I can evaluate Bounds and Position via the GObj properties, but how do I find the currently running VI (note that a VI may reside several times on the block diagram, so the name of the VI is not unique)? IMHO the simpliest way would be if a VI could find its icon on the caller's block diagram itself when executed...
It's clear that this position is not the position on the picture yet, but this conversion is a small piece of work...

Run it in highlight mode, done.
Sure if you don't mind having functional checks taking hours instead of minutes...okay maybe that is exagerating for a simple VI like this, but it would increase cycle time.  Honestly I think the best solution would be to use the helper VI that was mentiond before, which keeps track of what VI is running.  You can of course use scripting to get the block diagram image, but there isn't a good way to know what exact VI is running using VI server.  Here are a few discussions.

  • How to set Sticky Notes open at all times in PDFs

    XP Acrobat 9 Pro Extended
When I add a sticky note in a PDF, the sticky note always appears as an icon. Can I have sticky notes in a PDF open at all times, meaning when I open the PDF, the sticky notes in the PDF are already open? Can this be done. Thanks.

In Acrobat's Preferences — play with the selections for "Commenting".

  • Can't open sticky notes

I transferd an old Windows XP hard drive into a new Windows 8 pc. I can open the older pdf files in Reader XI, I can see the Icons of the sticky notes made last year, but to scroll or click on them does nothing.
I can make new sticky notes and the new notes will open.
    Any Ideas?

Does anyone, especially tech, have an answer to this?? This seems to have gone unanswered for a long time, it is not answered anywhere else whatsoever, and I have the exact same problem on my Chem notes for university. It is incredibly stressful that I just lost a couple days of notes, especially when I'm already behind.

  • Convert Excel data to Sticky Notes In Adobe?

Is there any way to import fields from an Excel spreadsheet into an Adobe document, and have these imported fields become separate Sticky Notes that can be moved around and placed on the PDF?

In theory yes, but I don't see it being very practicable.
A comment requires a page number, position, author, date and time, and contents, so you'd have to define all those in the spreadsheet or dynamically calculate them within the script. You could write the XLS file to a text file (CSV) and use scripting to import it (a folder-level script can use the new util.readFileIntoStream and util.stringFromStream methods) but the comments would be locked to a particular page.

    Thanks,
    The Tech Nut

    Hi,
Thanks for posting in Microsoft TechNet Forum.
The issue may be related to corrupted application files. To troubleshoot this kind of issue, I would like to propose the following suggestions.
    1. Initialize Sticky Notes from its source folder. Generally, the default location is C:\Windows\System32\StikyNot.exe.
If you can open Sticky Notes from its source folder, the issue is due to corrupted shortcut icon. If it is the case, you need to delete sticky shortcut icon and create a new one from the source folder and pin it to the Start menu.
    Otherwise, please continue the step.
    2. Open a Command Prompt to run the following command to fix corrupted system files.
1)Click the Start button and type "Command Prompt" in the search box.
2)Right click Command Prompt to run as Administrator.
3)Type: sfc /scannow to scan the whole disk.
    3. Copy StikyNot.exe from another available Operating System to the current computer.
    Hope this helps. Thanks.

  • Sticky notes/ access from right click/new on desktop?

Navigating through Metro and (ugh) typing a search to pull up a new sticky note (being the fastest method) is an awful lot of work to put a new stick note on the desktop.   Having it in the right click/new context menu seems a "no brainer".
If this can be added via the registry, please detail.

    Hi,
Here is a simple way to get it. Add the registry below:
    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shell\New
    StickyNote]
    "Icon"="C:\Windows\System32\StikyNot.exe"
    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shell\New
    StickyNote\command]
    @="C:\Windows\System32\StikyNot.exe"
In addition, We recommend you could pin sticky Note to taskbar. Thus we also get it easily.

  • Disappearing Sticky notes

My adobe reader kept crashing, so I thought to reinstall it.  I dragged the adobe reader icon to the trash (I have a mac), & then downloaded adobe reader off the adobe website.  However, when I open up a document, all the text which I had higlighted & all the sticky notes which I had made have all disappeared. Please help me get them back.

Same issue here.  I have sales reps in several states reporting this issue.  Their phone/ipad models differ, but they all report the problem started with IOS 8.  Sadly I'm not able to replicate the issue on my iPhone 6p 8.1.3.  I do not use iCloud, all my reps do... but I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the problem.  We're on Exchange 2007 here.
Multiple reps have contacted Apple support for help, and in all instances Apple has blamed Microsoft even though none of our Android, Outlook, OWA, or even IOS 7 users have any problems.
