Still Can't Change Profile Photo

I have Skype on Mac OSX and I can't add a profile picture. Every time I go to my profile and click on the picture, there is no option to add a picture. I looked on your forum and community and the instructions for how to add a picture on Skype for Mac OSX are wrong. The descriptions of the options and links are all inaccurate and don't describe what I see on my screen. I didn't have this problem on my PC. Please help!

This is a common bug in past versions of Skype, please update your Skype to the latest version.
Go to www.skype.com and download the last version for your Mac.

Alright, so I've had the same profile picture on Skype for a while now, and I'd like to change. First I tried to change it through the Skype desktop client. I went to Home, then clicked Profile. Under my picture, I clicked on Change picture. Then a window opens giving me the choice to either take a picture using my webcam or to browse for a picture on my computer. When I click Browse and select a picture, the little pop-up window closes and nothing changes. I've tried multiple pictures of multiple file formats and nothing works. So then I tried to change my avatar through the Skype website. I log in then go to my profile, and it shows information about me (name, state, email, etc). Well I click the Edit button next to Personal Information, and it gives me the choice to edit everything as I please... except for my profile picture! I'm not sure if the fact that I merged my Live account with my Skype account has anything to do with it; all I know is that I can't change my avatar and it's really starting to get on my nerves. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

We had the same problem. In the end when I tried a smaller picture (reduced pixel quality under 1 meg) it worked. To get a lower density picture I just went into picasa and emailed the 7 meg picture to myself and used the diminished jpg file. Hope it works for you. Nathan_4129 wrote:

Upgraded to MAC OS 10.8.3 and now can't change desktop photo (not responding).

I installed the update, rebooted and now can't change my desktop in System Preferrences (spinning wheel of death/ not responding when I try to search for pictures). Anybody else have this issue?

Try deleting the Desktop settings file. First, open Finder, select Go menu (on the menu bar) > Go to Folder, and type ~/Library/Preferences. Then, delete "com.apple.desktop.plist" and "com.apple.systempreferences.plist", and restart, so you should be able to change the desktop

Can't crop profile photo on Facebook app

I cannot crop a new profile photo on Facebook app on ipad2. It just keeps enlarging it. Any help?

This has happened to me too! It won't let me put up a status, put a profile picture up and its not showing any friend requests!

Cannot change profile photo

The instructions for changing my profile pic do not work. They don't coincide with what I actually see. When I go into my profile settings there is no option for changing my picture.

The options are more restricted in Mavericks:
To change a profile picture in Contacts double-click the "edit" button on the Card.
Now you should be able to use either the Faces or the Photo Stream from your iPhoto Library.
Only, when I am testing, these options always are showing empty since Mavericks. Is that what you are seeing too? As a work-around, you can still drag and drop directly from the open iPhoto window directly to the contacts photo well on the card.

Primary e-mail is wrong, can't change profile, can...

I signed up for Skype yesterday using my Microsoft account. The primary e-mail Skype has on file for me is not correct, it is an old e-mail. I have double-checked my Microsoft account and sure enough my current e-mail is the correct and primary e-mail on the MS account.
In addition to this, I cannot change my Skype profile to update the primary e-mail (my current e-mail is there it's just not listed as primary) because every time I do it Skype asks me for a password. I enter my Microsoft password but it keeps telling me it's not correct. I am absolutely 100% sure I am entering the correct password. I can login to Skype successfully with this password but I cannot edit my profile. The password does not have special characters.
Earlier today I contacted a Skype representative via live chat, but it was just horrendous. I was on the chat for almost an hour and during this time the chat window made that pencil movement repeatedly as if the rep were typing and about to say something but nothing was said. I think this was done purposely to game the system. Every 5 or 10 minutes I got an answer but it was as if they had no idea what was going on, even though I explained it clearly.
And in addition to all this your Skype will not let me fill out an e-mail ticket. First of all it requires the name of 5 Skype contacts to open an e-mail ticket. Why it does that I have no idea but it's ABSURD. I put none, none, none, none, none since I just created my account yesterday and don't have any Skype contacts. Second when I actually submitted the form (I tried multiple times) it says this:

What a pain in the ass this is, I tell you. Does anyone that works at Skype actually read this board, can you file 4 bugs based on above:
    Skype retrieved outdated information from my Microsoft account. It did not retrieve the correct primary e-mail.
    Skype will not let me change my profile to correct an incorrect primary e-mail without a password, and when I try my Microsoft password which I use to login to Skype it keeps telling me it's incorrect for the profile change.
    Your live chat needs improvement it's like the rep was powerless and didn't understand what I was talking about.
    I can't file an e-mail ticket, either because I don't have 5 Skype contacts (ridiculous rule) or maybe for some other reason it says "we’re having some problems at the moment"

for some reason microsoft won't regard this as a solution, but it is. I spent 1.5 hours on line with skype support, 1hr to try to get them to help me .5 hrs to try to explain to an utterly uninterested support person how to do what they told me I can't do I even got a bashing here from one of the mods, and he didnät even bother to say "sorry" ;-(

Still can't change the font in Indesign CC forms?

We have just upgraded and it seems that Indesign CC still does not have the capability to change the font when creating interactive forms.... correct me if I'm wrong, but if I'm right Adobe can you please implement this for the next version – very frustrating :-/

Can I change my photo stream login

HI all,
i set up my cloud photo stream a while ago using a (now) old email address. This email was hacked and I had to change it. Is it possible for me to change the login email address to my current one without losing all photos etc....

Can't change profile pic for iMessage

Swapped out my original iPad for new Mini yesterday. When sending iMessages the profile picture is my husband, not me. I can't figure out how to change it. I've tried in iTunes thinking perhaps b/c we share an account but the iTunes is all my info. Thank you for any assistance.

When you send something in I message, it is associated with a particular e mail adress. In settings/messages it will tell you what e mail address that is ( if you do not know). Then in contacts look for your husbands contact info, and then yours. It is probably grabbing the first contact that has that e mail address and grabbing that image.
When you pick a contact it will show you the e mail address and any picture that is associated with it. If you don't see a picture and e mail address, look for a second entry in the contact list. ( I am listed in my contact app 4 times.... Need to do some clean up.).

I've upgraded to OSX 10.8.2 and Iphoto 9.4 but I still can not access shared photo stream???

I've looked at all of my settings on my macbook pro 13" and everything is setup correctly and the software version of my iphoto and upgraded to OSX and it still prompts me the screen that says I need to upgrade when I try to access a shared photo stream....help please.

The most recent iPhoto is 9.4.2, so open Apple menu > Software Update and install the most recent iPhoto. Also, check if you have another iPhoto copy of an older version on your Mac

Can I Change the photo name generated by iPhone?

When I copy my iPhone (4S) photos to my Windows PC they are named IMG_nnnn.jpg. This is also the kind of name my Canon camera generates. Messy!
Is there a way to get the iPhone to use some name that does not start with "IMG_" ? Or maybe get it to start using a number series starting at a much higher number?

Metallic looks can be achieved by using radical curves. By way of demonstration, make a new document and make a coloured square and apply a Bevel & Emboss layer style. Copy that layer, and change the Gloss Contor to the 'W' shape curve. This step suddenly makes the block appear to be made of shiny metal. As below
So add a curves layer and experiment with similar shaped curves. Be guided by the histogram at the bottom of the curves layer.

I'm trying to upload photos into facebook from my iMac. I've clicked on the upload to facebook icon in iphoto but just get an error message saying 'error occurred with iPhoto - try again later. I've also had problems lately when I click on a photo to open it I just get a grey screen with an exclamation mark. I've downloaded the latest software but nothing seems to work.
