Still can't open upgraded iTunes

My problem seems to be a combination of all the problems listed so far.
First, I downloaded the new version 7.1.1 and it said it couldn't find or open iTunes.msi even though the path listed led right to it. I removed the program, downloaded and used Windows Installer Cleanup, restarted a million times, ended any iTunes processes in the Task Manager, etc. But when I tried to manually delete the iTunes folder, it just keeps saying "Access is denied". I tried moving the folder and deleting everything inside the folder it would let me and even renamed the files, but it wouldn't let me delete it.
Eventually, I was able to download the new version without any problem - until it tried to open. Now I'm back to where I started. The shortcuts just bring up an error saying they "Action only valid for progams currently installed" and when I try to open it by opening a music file, it just gives me an option to send an error report.
Can someone please help me out? I miss my iTunes.

Mine is the same size.
... that would seem to rule out the possibility of a stuck registry key leaving an icon in place without a file.
It also won't let me delete iTunesMiniPlayerLocalized.dll in the iTunesMiniPlayer.Resources\en.lproj folder.
actually, it's files in the language resources folders like that (you're having grief with one of the English resource files) that i tend to associate with problems due to disk damage ... but if a chkdsk isn't shifting the little blighters, let's try some sterner measure.
try downloading the Pocket Killbox utility:
Pocket KillBox 2.0.0.648
(not sure if that's the most current version ... it's been a few months since i last had to use that link.)
try using the Delete on Reboot option to see if that will shift the files.
does that finally clear them away? if so, does a reinstall go through properly?

  • I STILL can't open my upgraded itunes!

    Hi,
I've downloaded the new itunes with the quicktime and now my itunes will not open. I have tried everything: reinstalling it all, installing the standalone quicktime and turning off my Norton stuff. I´m in the same situation; I´ve alredy uninstall and re- installed iTunes, the same for Quicktime... I´ve did it with the anti-virus software turned on and off... I´ve already checked all the folders that have somethings related with the program and have turned "off" the "read only" button...
unfortunatelly... nothing had worked... I still can´t open the iTunes... every time I double click the icon on desktop... or the one in the program folder, the "pointer" turns into the sandclock for a couple of seconds and then... nothing, absolutelly NOTHING happens!!! ****!
Is there any way for the people at Mac check the programming or at least that let us (the ones who have an older iPod version) to get again the older iTunes version?
    PLEASE!!!!
    Thnx!

Don't be afraid to bump this topic. There's also an App Store forum where you might repost this question, but give some of these details in your post.  I'd rephrase the topic to something like "Can't use App Store to upgrade." (Instead of can't "open".) Then give the details.

  • I purchased a book through iTunes and it downloaded. I synced with my iPad. It shows the book is downloading but that has been going on for two hours and i still can't open the book.

I purchased a book through iTunes. I then synced my iPad and went to iBooks. I clicked on the book and it shows downloading but that has been going on for almost two hours and i still can't open the book. What gives? I have done this before no problem.

Try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account (Store > View My Apple ID on iTunes 11) and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that book, click the arrow to the left of it, click the 'Report a Problem' button :
and then the 'Report a Problem' link on its line :
and select 'inadvertently purchased' as the problem and fill in the details (iTunes support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours).
Or you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

I assume you are talking about iTunes on your computer, if so, you will have to remove all Apple programs associated with iTunes:
iTunes, QuickTime, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, Bonjour and Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Make sure everything that is by Apple is removed including Safari. You can sort by "Publisher", when you uninstall programs. Make sure you have at least one other web browser (like Firefox or Internet Explorer) before removing Safari. That way you can go back to the Apple web site and redownload iTunes later.
Reboot the computer then reinstall iTunes. Everything should work normally.

  • I'm using Windows XP2. Can't open my "iTunes Store" page. Have to struggle to get to my library. Have uninstalled/reinstalled multiple times. Cleared associate apps in Add/Remove. Re-booted after every operation. No change. Still opens in library.

I'm using a Windows XP (32 Bit).  I can't open my "iTunes Store" page.  I have to struggle just to open the iTunes icon.  When I do, it opens directly to my music library.  When I try to click to the iTunes Store, it opens to a blank page with the words "iTunes Store" embossed in gray in the middle of the page.  That's it!   NO GRAPHICS!  I even tired the "Diagnostics" test.  It shows that there is a disconnect with the internet and the iTunes Store.  When I clicked the "Help" button next to it, it opened to a totally blank page.  Nothing.  I'm trying to sync an iPad 2 to iTunes on that computer.  It shows on the computer that the apps have been synced, but they are not present on the iPad.  Just as a note: the apps and info in the account has been loaded on the computer via 3Gs and then a 4S phone.  Thank you for any and all help in this matter.

I Have the same issue on a brand new iPad mini 2. My battery is only lasting up to 5 hours. I went on chat with Apple last night and they said my battery is fine and its a Safari issue. I'm literally losing 1% every 3-4 minutes. I tried recalibrating my battery, signing out of iCloud, shutting off all locations, turning off background app refresh, restoring network settings, restoring all, and finally restoring from iTunes with no luck. This is just awful. I got this iPad so I could use it on my long flight for a trip I have coming up, and unfortunately, it's not going to last that long, plus I'm concerned about how many times i will be recharging my battery because of this since battery's do have a life cycle dependent on the number of charges. This is frustrating and needs to be fixed ASAP and addressed by Apple.
By the way, Apple told me to bring my device to the Apple Store because it's still under warranty. That's great and all, but I'm going to waste my time if there is no fix for this issue.
Ok so you want Apple to address the problem, but yet you don't want to take it to them just in case they can't fix it? What if they can fix it? Complaining here certainly won't fix it.

  • Downloaded Camera Raw update 6.2 but still can't open raw images

I followed all the steps as indicated on this page: Adobe - Photoshop Elements : For Windows : Camera Raw 6.2 update but for some reason I still can't open .CR2 files . My camera (Canon Rebel T3i) is on the list of supported files. What should I do? I'm using Windows and I have Photoshop elements 8.0.

You need camera raw 6.4 for your camera. It is mot compatible with PSE8. You need to upgrade to PSE13. Alternatively, download and install the free Adobe DNG converter to convert your raw files to the Adobe universal Raw format and the files will open in PSE8 (keep your originals as backups and for use in the camera manufactures software)
Windows download (.exe file) click here DNG Converter 8.6
Mac download (.dmg file) click here DNG Converter 8.6
You can convert a whole folder of raw images in one click. See this quick video tutorial:
You Tube click here for DNG Converter tutorial

  • In Photoshop CS5 I have updated my raw-update that was suggested by my updatebutton in my photoshop. But I still can not open my new camera srw-files from my samsung nx300.

In Photoshop CS5 I have updated my raw-update that was suggested by my updatebutton in my photoshop. But I still can not open my new camera srw-files from my samsung nx300.

You cannot open Raw files from the Samsung NX300 in CS5.
Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras
    Camera Raw-compatible Adobe applications
You need Adobe Camera Raw 7.4 or later which is only compatible with CS6 or later.
    Some choices:
    Upgrade to CS6
    Join the Cloud
    Join the CCPP
Free option: download the free Adobe DNG converter, convert all Raw files from the NX300 to DNGs then edit the DNGs in CS5

  • I can not open my itunes folder!!

I can not open my itunes folder. An error message pops up saying: The folder "itunes" is on a locked disk or you do not have write permissions for this folder... How can i open itunes?! ive tried reinstalling and repair but its still not working

Let's try this first. Hold down the Shift key while you try to launch iTunes. You should eventually see the following dialog:
Click "Choose library". Browse to inside the following location (depending on what operating system you're running):
    Operating System
    Default location of iTunes library
    Microsoft Windows XP
    \Documents and Settings\[your username]\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\
    Microsoft Windows Vista
    \Users\[your username]\Music\iTunes\
    Microsoft Windows 7
    \Users\[your username]\My Music\iTunes\
... and open the iTunes library you find in there.

  • TS1424 I can't open the iTune store after I updated my iphone to iOS 7.

Hi there, could someone help me here please - I can't open the iTune store after I updated my iphone 4 to iOS 7. The problem occurred about 5 days later after the upgrade. There are no error messages. As I tap on the icon it opens just for a fraction of a moment and then goes off and back to the main screen. Other apps are working just fine. I tried following the troubleshooting steps as suggested by apple support, but that didn't help unfortunately...
    Thank you
