Still can't run CS6 on Mavericks

After uninstalling and reinstalling CS6, updating to versions 11.0.3 & 11.0.4 and doing several other actions suggested throughout different forums (including Adobe), I just cannot get CS6 (the whole suite) to run on Mavericks.
What can I do?
Cheers

I'm also getting this message which isn't the case, QuickTime is very much installed.

    Hi,
first, I'm not Adobe's "slave" as you might to accuse me. Most of the posters here are users like me.
I only can repeat that what I found in Adobe's help sites, as I wrote above. You are free to figure out the "real" truth and - the best would be - you may contact Adobe directly, here are - I'm sure you know them -  the links I would use: http://helpx.adobe.com/support.html  and http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html.

  • I've tried to download flash player several times onto my iMac, but still can't run any videos.

I have tried downloading and installing Flash Player on my iMac several times.  It goes all the way through the finish screen, but I still can't view videos.  I still get a flyout that says I need Flash Player.  I cannot find Flah Player anywhere on my iMac.  I have looked under Applications, Devices, Documents, and even Utilities.  Nothing.  I do find the installer program, but it only wants to uninstall a Flash Player program that doesn't exist.  Any ideas as to what is going on?

You can check here:  http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/  to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS.
(If you are running Mavericks: After years of fighting malware and exploits facilitated through Adobe's Flash Player, the company is taking advantage of Apple's new App Sandbox feature to restrict malicious code from running outside of Safari in OS X Mavericks.)
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90906.html
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications (including Safari) first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.
After installing, reboot your Mac and relaunch Safari, then in Safari Preferences/Security enable ‘Allow Plugins’. If you are running 10.6.8 or later:
When you have installed the latest version of Flash, relaunch Safari and test.
If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then in System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser.
You can also try these illustrated instructions from C F McBlob to perform a full "clean install", which will resolve the "Blocked Plug-in" message when trying to update via the GUI updater from Adobe.
Use the FULL installer for 12.0.0.44:  Flash Player 12 (Mac OS X)
And the instructons are here: Snow Leopard Clean Install.pdf

  • HT6114 I am currently runny 10.6.8 on an almost 5 yr old laptop. Can I run the new maverick ugrade v 10.9.2?

I am using an almost 5 yr old macbook. Operating system is 10.6.8 I received an offer to upgrade to mavericks v10.9.2. Can my current system run/support this new upgrade? Would I leave myself at risk of to the performance of my laptop?

Upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion or Mavericks
To upgrade to Mavericks you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8, Lion, or Mountain Lion installed. Purchase and download Mavericks (Free) from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
         OS X Mavericks- System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mavericks
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) —
                 Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
    Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table — RoaringApps.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion at the Online Apple Store. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.

  • Still can't install CS6

I have tried since day 1 to install CS6 and I have had no luck, and I don't understand why. I have looked at all the other posts concerning this issue and have tried what everyone has suggested and still have had no luck. I have a MBP late 2010, currently running Lion. I get to 2% then get and error message. I am this close to just giving up. Can anyone help?

    Try the following in order:
1.) Unmount all the other DMGs (if any) and then try with only Adobe PS CS6 DMG mounted.
2.) Reboot the system and then try.
3.) Copy the PS CS6 installer files to a folder on desktop from DMG and then try to launch the installer from the locally copied installer.
Let us know if any of these works. Do you have any other adobe products installed as well?
    Regards,
    Ashutosh

  • Error message - can't run CS6 After Effects

Installed on my macbook pro with OSX 10.9.5 is the CS6 student edition master collection and for the past year I've been able to use all programs I've tried to use, however, when I went to use After Effects yesterday for the first time, I was unable to. I received the following error message: "You can't use this version of the application 'Adobe After effects CS6 with this version of OSX. You have Adobe After Effects CS6 11.0." So, I went to adobe.com and tried to download the upgrades 11.0.1, 11.0.2, 11.0.3, and 11.0.4. After downloading 11.0.4 and clicking on the red folder, I received the following error message for 'After Effects Trial - 11.0.4-mul-AdobeUpdater: "Update Failed. Could not be applied. Contact customer service." Tried this multiple times, no luck. So then I read more on the adobe site and ended up registering for Creative Cloud to obtain the updates for CS6. Adobe recognized that my computer had CS6, provided me with a list of updates, I chose to update all (which took an hour), then, according to the creative cloud, all of my software has been updated. Then I restarted my computer. However, when I clicked in finder/applications on AfterEffectsCS6, I received the same error message. Creative Cloud still says all of my apps were updated. However, After Effects still won't work and looking at the application on my computer, it still says version 11.0 and the date is last year. Why does Creative Cloud show that my programs have been updated and yet my applications don't reflect that? What do I need to do to get CS6 After Effects working? I have a school project due and I've already spent way too much time trying to figure out this problem at the expense of my project. Please help!

Chocchocm have you removed and reinstall Adobe After Effects CS6?  I would recommend using the uninstallers available in the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder to remove your installed Adobe Creative software.  You can then reinstall Master Collection CS6 utilizing the retail installation files available at Download CS6 products.
If you need to locate your registered serial number it is available under you account at http://www.adobe.com/.  You can find additional details on how to locate the registered serial number at Find your serial number quickly.

  • Can I run CS6 on Desktop and CS5 on Laptop at the same time?

First off, let me start by saying I am a small business owner. I am at work between 10 to 16 hours per day, every day. I have very little time in my life that I am not sitting at my main desktop macintosh, unless I am sleeping.
All of my my work files are on my desktop computer in CS5. I plan to keep using CS5 for all working files for now. I only purchased CS6 to backsave.
But I want to LEARN CS6, and slowly work into it before I make a sudden, or dramatic, change.
I want to do turtorials and go through the CS6 learning curve on my laptop. It sits peacfully at my side, all day every day. Any downtime I can be playing, learning and experimenting. Without fear of doing any damage to my CS5 files or my main production mac.
If I try to run CS5 on the desktop and CS6 on the laptop, at the same time -- will they CALL HOME, STOP, FREEZE, LOCK UP, or and send me, in any form, to ADOBE JAIL or ABUSE CENTER?
Does anyone have an answer for this?

Thank you both -- you have made my entire day. I thought I could, but was worried that something terrible would happen. Which I am worried about to begin with. It will be great to be able to learn all of the componets of the full Desging and Web upgrade, at my own pace, in my down time.
Truly appreciate your time and your replies

  • Can I run CS6 under Creative Cloud with CS6 Perpetual installed?

    Hi Folks
I've finally got the latest AAM to launch and would like to try Creative Cloud.
But I have a registered copy of CS6 Perpetual already installed.
What's the recommended way to try out Creative Cloud in this case?
I'm time sensitive, as CS6 is mission critical for me. Can't have any down time.
    Thanks!

    Hi Jeff
I have CS6 Premium installed (the upgrade from CS5 Design Premium)
Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Bridge, Acrobat X, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash, Media Encoder, Extenson Manager
So, there's only  Lightroom and Muse left. I dont use either much.
I'd really like to see it work in my normal work scenario with the above apps.
Do I need to download separate copies of the CS apps to run under Creative Cloud?
Or can I temporarily deactivate the CS6 apps' perpetual serial and run under Creative Cloud?
    Thanks for your time.
    Tom

  • Can you run Livetype on Mavericks?

Yes, I know it's old but the animated LiveFonts are still useful and I don't see anything similar in Motion (please correct me if I'm wrong). Thanks.

So here's my issue, todays date May 26 of 2014.
I am getting a new MacBook Pro
    13" 2.6 Ghz 512 Gb
my last setp up from 2006 was on a dual 2.7 Ghz Power PC
running FInal Cut Pro, Motion and LiveType.
Sellers are convincing me that Avid Media Composer will be better given the mobility and up to date media editing system.
I loved LiveType (and to some degree Motion) as it was great, fast.
Is there any way to just load the LiveType (Motion if needed) onto the new MacBook Pro so that it runs, with or stand alone without Avid Media Composer?  Or is the new OS for the new MacBookPro just worlds away from what LiveType ran on? Is it possible to install some shell of a sub OS that will otherwise trick it, just to get the old software program to run on the new MacBook Pro? Thanks.

  • How many machines can i run cs6 on?

thanks for any help - its so frustrating not being able to just ask Adobe direct!

    Hi Allthebees,
You may install software on up to two computers. If you install on a third computer, It will request you to De-activate on the other two computers. You can then reactivate one of the previous two computers, and use Creative Suite apps on it.
Here is the link for Adobe Support : Adobe - Contact Support – Download and Installation
Let me know if you need more info.
    Thanks!
