I have read accounts of the same problem that I see to have missing years of bookmarks. The forum responses seem to indicate there is not solution to restoring them. Not an acceptable answer. I need to have all of my bookmarks restored since I started using Firefox some years ago. I need an explanation on how to do it. Surely the Firefox team has a solution. Expecting me to just accept there are gone and irretrievable will not work. I await a solution to the problem.

After you locate your profile folder, inside there is a '''bookmarkbackups''' folder. Open this folder and see if there are any files here. If you do, move on to the next step below.

Uninstall the other AV software. They are not needed. All they do is cause trouble like you are having now.
If you have been forcing the Mac to shut down with the power switch you may nave corrupted your disk. You should repair it with disk Utilty to remove any corruption the shutdwons may have cased.

Went through this step-by-step, but alas it did not solve the problem. For some reason I can download mail on my Macbook Pro and iPhone, but no my iMac. Connection Doctor shows all green lights. This started today when I was prompted to re-enter incoming mail server passwords. I re-entered passowrds yet again to make sure they were correct. Rebuilt the inBox. Connection Doctor continues to show all green lights, but am still unable to download mail to the inbox. Has anyone else ever run into this problem?
I have the exact same problem trying to use the Remote app on both my iPhone 3gs and iPad 2 with either my Mac or ATV2. My Remote app used to work on my phone - I can't recall if I ever actually used it with my iPad, but when I tried today, I got all the same results as you did (on both iPad, and then iPhone). I was using my ATV2 to play music from iTunes on my Mac and wanted to use the Remote app, but it would not connect to either device no matter what I did.

I can't access half of my downladed music. I get a message, "can't locate file." I dauthorized my computer and reloaded itunes, but it did not help. Any suggestions? Thank you.
This happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout,or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes .

a message of 500 internal error comes up when I open up Firefox and I cannot do anything. How can this problem be solved? I cannot use Firefox, so I have uninstalled it because it does in work on my computer, but it does work on my desktop and other laptop. This is a new computer, so I am not understanding why this problem is occurring. When I first installed Firefox on my new laptop it worked just fine, but for about a week now it will not work.
Which security software (firewall) do you have?
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

I only edit videos every few months and the last time I edited a video was around 6-9 months ago. At that time, I noticed AME was only using a single core of the CPU and contacted Adobe who instructed me to disable core parking, which worked. After disabling core parking AME used 100% of all 12 logical cores to process the video and all was good. Then last week, I decided to edit another video and noticed AME was very slow and checked and it was again only using a single core to process the video, but core parking is still turned off. By slow I mean that a 10 minute video with the lens distortion correction preset and one video transition effect is estimated to take nearly 3 hours to complete. For comparison, the GoPro software processed the same clip with the same effects in 20 minutes. Also, through troubleshooting with Adobe over the last few days, I have also tried downloading previous versions of the software but the prior versions have the same issue.
The video I'm trying to edit was shot on a GoPro Hero 4 Black with 1080p Wide at 60 frames per second. The default video format for GoPro is .mp4. The output settings I'm using when I export from Premiere Pro to AME are H.264 with the YouTube 1080p HD.

The problem is that Adobe Creative Cloud is NOT "Processor Group Aware". Windows parses any more than 36 cores into "Processor Groups" and while the Pro version of Windows 7 & 8 can handle 256 threads they have to spread them across multiple processor groups.

Starting in safe mode did not solve the problem
The problem of web sites failing to open by using links in e mail for LA Times and Coldwater Creek was not resolved by starting in safe mode.
Is this with clicking a link in an external program?

Are you using SMB compatible names for wireless.. ie short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric.

After I upgraded to Mavericks, all of my "Notes" data was gone. The Note ap is still available but the notes themselves are no longer in Mail as they used to be.They are still on my iPhone, but I want them on my computer, too.

A little background - in early January, with a thesis presentation due, I delayed upgrading to Quicktime 7.0.4 until after the thesis - this was a good idea, because now after upgrading and downgrading again, I've got problems.
I made a video with Final Cut Pro - (assume I can no longer go back and output it again) and have the file as a .mov. Before upgrading, thesis era, I threw it into iDVD and got a DVD.
NOW I need to make more copies of the DVD so I go about re-creating the dvd in iDVD with the exact same files... and the video comes up blank. both in quicktime AND in iDVD.
I downgraded from 7.0.4 to 7.0.1 - but that did not solve the problem completely... sure, I get my audio back now, but the film is entirely white-screen...
I'm under a massive time deadline to make more copies of the DVD and I'm at a loss os what to do! Please help!!
I'm already deleted the receipts, downgraded from 7.0.4 -> 7.0.1... no fix.
tried going back to 7.0.3 from 7.0.1... no fix.
went BACK to 7.0.1 again.... no fix...

10.5.3 did NOT solve the Bluetooth smartphone incompatibility
I'm sad to report that the 10.5.3 update did not solve the problem of getting certain smartphones, such as the Nokia N73, to pair up with a Mac and be able to sync the Addressbook and iCal. For that phone (and probably others), this is quite awkward, since it is the only way to sync data from those two applications; you can't do it via the phone's USB cable.
10.5.4, maybe? Or is this some dark plot to get everyone to purchase an iPhone?Could you elaborate on the specific settings and actions for this? I've never been able to do this successfully via de USB cable and I was under the impression of having read somewhere that iSync did not support this mode for the N73.
You are right, it seems to be directly related to the latest firmware from Nokia. According to what I've seen, the problem lies in getting the two devices to pair, which never concludes correctly, so I will try one last and desperate measure: pair it up with my old PBG4 that has the latest flavor of Tiger, then migrate everything with Migration Assistant to a testbench Leopard system I have on an external FW drive. If the pairing gets migrated over and continues to work, I'll only have to figure out which specific files contain the pairing info. -
I recently switched from an iPhone to an Android phone. I cannot receive text messages because Apple will not "release" my number from iMessage. I see others have had the same issue. How did you solve the problem, if you did?
