Still happening

Question

Regarding MAIL, my number one problem area within Snow Leopard and none of the below happened with 10.5
Passwords are required at each startup (Even with bemember box checked). Andit happens periodically though out the day. This happens only with my Comcast e-mail accts. I hate mentioning that because it points to them but if that be the case what has it taken so long for them to fix the problem or Apple for a fix. After all it didn't happen with 10.5.
Videos: I have every media player and every plug in. Still videos wont play within MAIL until the video is loaded completely BUT the sound plays!. To speed things along I simply drag it to the desk top and to quicktime. I thought by now there would be a fix for this too. I suspect it's a quicktime thing within mail.

With regard to the password problem, how have you set the Authentication, if any, of the Comcast SMTP? With some email providers there is a sequence of status checking that will involve both the Incoming and Outgoing servers, which sometimes will fail is using the default ports. Let me suggest you determine the correct Port for the SMTP, and then change to Use Custom Port rather than Use Default Ports, and directly entering the proper port. I solved a similar issue in this manner, recently.
