Still having fan issues and kernel task issues

Hi there, I got a iMac Late 2013 model, 8 GB RAM, 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5, Running Mac OS X 10.10.1. I have had issues in the past with this the Fan running for no reason on this computer. I read numerous articles about this on the web and most said to do a SMC reset and also that certain cables (USB) may cause this. I recently did and SMC, repaired permissions, ran daily/weekly/monthly scripts. Yesterday computer was fine, this morning the fan is going full blast and in activity monitor it says Kernel_task 300+% CPU, CPU time 22:32:14:55. Anyone have any thoughts on this as to why this continues or what I am missing here. Really gets annoying to shut down, SMC restart then good for a day or so. Thanks in advance

Startup and Kernel Task Issues

I am having trouble with startup. The macbook takes 15-20 minutes to startup. I hear a knocking noise in the computer when it startsup and the wheel spins for around 15-20 minutes. The kernel_task takes up a lot of memory and cpu time. Here is my etresoft readout:

You should try reading the report for anything obvious like this:

You need to start by repairing your hard drive to fix these errors. Also, you really don't have enough free space on your hard drive. You are right at the minimal limit.

I think these are related to an external device like a WD external drive. If the box is connected then try disconnecting it.
Note that at the end of the report is a whole litany of diagnostic crash reports. Two identifiable items are Creative Cloud and Quick Look Satellite. I would uninstall these.
Open Activity Monitor in your Utilities folder. Set the Processes listing to All Processes. Look for one or more called "cfprefsd." If you see one in red, then select it, click on the Quit icon in the toolbar, then click on the Force Quit button.
When you are all done restart the computer into Safe Mode, then restart the computer normally.

Anyone else still having iOS 8.1 Bluetooth Connection issues.

Hi there just wanted to see if anyone is still having the Vehicle "Hands Free" Connection issues via Bluetooth on the iPhone 6? I drive a 2009 Acura TL and I am still having the connection issue. Oddly enough before the 8.1 update I was running 8.0.2 and it worked fine. Now when I get in my car and the phone connects it cripples the entire system. It won't allow me to change to the USB mode for my connected iPod and when I try to place a call via the "Hands Free" system it beeps as if it is activating and then does nothing.
I have tried everything that I can think of with no results. I was hoping there was someone out there with the same car or similar having the same problem that might have found a fix. Chime in and let me know.

I am having similar problems with Bluetooth connectivity but not with a car. I use a Planatronics Legend. Everytime that a call comes in, my Legend announces the call then immediately disconnects from my iPhone. All of this started after upgrading to ios 8.1.
Apple should not advertise fixes to problems without truly confirming the repairs.

Is anybody having drop-out and dropped call issues?

i'm on my second 8gig iphone and am still having (after 2days) horrible drop-outs on almost every call and dropped calls. the signal is showing full strenght-4bars while this is happening. any ideas? my previous cell (blackberry on att) had perfect reception at all times at same location. drove through the neighborhood this afternoon and same thing. i areas where i used to get perfect reception i now get drop-outs.

you are correct - hence my previous post that my att reception on my previous phone - a blackberry in exact same locations - was perfect. on the other hand i think this must be an isolated incident of bad luck receiving 2 phones in a row that have bad reception. i met at least 10 people at the apple store on friday night that live in my area (within 1/2 mile) and nobody has complained (so far) about reception issues and dropped calls.

Furious fans and Kernel Tasks

It seems that no-one has the answer to noisy iMac G5 fans - but here goes. My computer is doing nothing - no applications open. Fans start to get ready for take-off for no apparent reason. Start up a browser - broadband internet connection lost! This happens time and time again.
I checked Activity Monitor while the fans were running with no applications. It showed that "Kernel Tasks" was running at 86% CPU usage.
My computer falls under the serial number for free repair, but I don't show any of the symptoms to qualify.
Anyone any ideas?

If your serial falls under the repair numbers, I
would call and explain the fans running unchecked is symptomatic of a failure to control temps, hence a power failure. Talk to them and see what you can work out.

VZW Messaging app continues to crash even after update, and several re-installs. Anyone else still having this problem, and know any fixes?

My messaging app crashes 5+ times each day, or causes my phone to lag until I restart it. Is anyone else still having these problems, even after the update?

the vz messaging app is garbage.Thats probably why no tech support people have replied to your question yet. I had similar issues & decided to disable it. May i suggest you download 'textra' or even hangouts?

TDS Certificate, Challan Payment Issue and BSR Code Issue

I have configured Extended withholding tax as follows and encountered some issues
1. Specify Document Type (Accounts Payable): Here I have given Document type as SA and I am able to Pay the remittance challan through Post Vendor challan transaction.
MY question is How can I update my check no. I tried to update through FCH5 But it is showing no data.
2. Form 16A Certificate: How the field Cheque / DD No (If Any) gets updated?
3. BSR Code in Form 16A: I have maintained Bank branch in FI02. and made the remittance challan through that bank.
but still my BSR Code is not updating in Form 16A.
4. Form 16A Certificate: How does the Quarter Acknowledgement No field gets updated?
Kindly provide me the solutions for the above queries.

Report Builder - Last page issue and Report Footer issue

I am using ColdFusion 9 Report Builder, am new to this product and encountering 2 issues.
Issue 1 - I have a field that I would like to print on the last page of my report. How can I determine the last page? I initially tried using a calculated field set to the 'highest' calc.Page_Number. Then I could compare the current page to the last page in the 'Print When' property. But calc.Page_Number can not be used in a definition of a calculated field.
Issue 2 - Depending on the amount of report detail, sometimes my report footer prints alone, without a page header and page footer. The report includes this page in the total number of pages. For example, if it is a 2 page report, the page header on page 1 will display Page 1 of 2. Then the only data on Page 2 is the Report Footer. No page header or page footer prints.
Any assistance on these issues would be most appreciated. To date, using the Report Builder has not been easy.

To issue 1: The report contains a report band called report footer. thsi is always at the last page. The report footer band initially is collapsed, so you have to expand it by dragging the last band divider.
To issue 2: I guess this is a page break calculating error when detail data reaches really near the page footer area.
Try some experiments with different setting of the following properties/issues:
- in elements, e.g. calculating fields in the bands between report detail and page footer: In Properties / Print Control / Printing Options: Activate the option "Remove line when blank". This will remove the whole report band area if this field is blank. May save some empty space.
- try to remove unused empty space between detail rows.
- try to resize and reposition all detail fields so that they snap to the grid.

Still having navigation problems and need help with how to debug

I've been porting over a servlet project to JSF and I'm still having navigation problems. I thought the problem might have been because the original project used HTML frames and so the "from-view-id" JSP defined the frame/framesets and the specific JSP that does the submit (and so is named in the "from-view-id" is never defined in a "to-view-id" attribute). I've now switched to using an IFRAME, and that resolves that problem. So now the JSP is defined in a "to-view-id" attribute and it includes an named IFRAME that can be used as a target. I press the submit button and I get not the JSP expected butinstead the same JSP displayed inside its own IFRAME.
Here is the code for the submit. I've simplified it as much as possible with a static action (originally it was a call to a method) just to try and get things to work. This is the current version:

Any1 is still having text or other color rendering issues on Win7/Vista FF, Safari, Opera or Chrome?

People have seen many different issues with blank Flash content
or wrong text colors since 10.1 using Windows Vista or Win7 32bit or 64bit FP plugin = still same issue.
No1 knows why but Disabling AERO THEME is the medicine to fix it or just run Internet Explorer
when you encounter bad behaviour on Firefox, Opera or Chrome which use same FlashPlayer.

Because without knowing what GPU - Graphic card people are using and if Disabling Aero Theme helps or not?

The easiest way to fix rendering issues is to disable Hardware Acceleration.

Always having a copy and iDisk sync issue questions...

1. Let's say I have a 50 GB hard drive and I use another internal drive which is 100 GB for Time Machine. I do know that if I run out of space Time Machine deletes older back ups (if I read that correctly). Now I'm assuming that there should ALWAYS be copy of all my files contained on the main drive am I correct? And that Time Machine wouldn't necessarily delete all copies of a file to make room for new back up?
2. Can someone clarify what the issue with iDisk syncing and Time Machine is? I was reading that Time Machine was filing up the startup disk when iDisk syncing was on (whiles they had Time Machine setup on an External). I can't quite see why Time machine would fill up a disk that it isn't assigned to back up too simply because iDisk syncing is on.

You should be using TM to backup to an external HD and not to your internal drive. Not sure what the 50GB drive is for - have you partitioned your internal drive?
Since you can't use TM to backup to iDisk there should be no issues with iDisk syncing and TM.
Briefly, TM backs up your complete system (less exclusions you can set) to an external HD every hour, then daily, then weekly and finally monthly. When your HD is full TM will start to delete the oldest backups to make room for more backups.

Weird color issues and Kernel panic!

Okay, so last night I was running tech tool maintenence, and I had repair on. So, it finished scanning my startup volume (I was on my eDrive) and then I shut down and restarted. Now, it tried to start from my startup volume (tiger 4.7, with latest updates) and it says you need to restart your computer (which means there is a kernel panic, am I right?) I try safe mode to no avail, I even reset the PMU and reset the PRAM (but I didnt hear the starup noise again). So, I put in my backup HD, and it starts up, but wait! Now the video is horribly wrong! It is all in TERRIBLE quality and in mostly only greys, I mean it looks like a 4 mb vram video card, there are very few pixels of color( there are some intermitedly) and there is terrible ghosting, and I can barely read anything. so, I checked my display, and universal access settings, and fooled around with those, and nothing happened. So, now I try and start from my eDriveand it start, but now it has the same horrible color problem as my other drive. Oh boy, this is a new computer, and I already have a kernel pnic, and a video problem, what can I do? Thanks for any help. Matthew. Panic.log and Kernel Panic issues

Can anyone help me out with deciphering this kernel panic log. I've had about 4 KP's in the last couple months. I only have one in my log because I think that is the only one I have had since I did an erase and install. I checked it in for repair at an Apple Store where they ran a high load test on it and found no hardware problems nor could they determine the source of the KP's.
I have plently of disk space and a third party graphics card bought and installed at the Apple Store. The computer was used in a professional creative environment every day, 10 hours a day for a year and a half and was rarely shut down overnight. It was pushed pretty hard, was kept in an area that allowed for dust accumulation and the area below the desk where it was kept had pretty poor air flow. It was probably moved around a bit while running. All a recipe for disaster, but I figure it's better to be up front about it's condition before one were to help me out.
Beside the couple KP's I've had, it will occasionally hang up while switching into a different user while using "Fast User Switching". Aside from distinguishing what this log might mean, I am also curious to what degree a KP can have on further corruption of data. Data corruption concerns me more than the occasional KP that would force me to revert to my last save.

My iPhone 5 has the exact same issue.
Except that in my case, if I take a shot in landscape with the volume button on the top, it's the *left* side of the photo which is completely out of focus (for portrait pictures, that would be the bottom part).

PCIe USB 3.0 - WIFI Reception and Kernel Panic Issues

I have been running Arch as a router on an Asrock E350M1 with shorewall and hostapd. I used to have one USB3 gigabit ethernet adapter plugged into a USB2 port connecting to my modem and the onboard gigabit ethernet connected to an 8 port switch. I bought a 5 port USB3 PCIe card and another 2 adapters and now have everything running off of the E350 with the modem going into the onboard ethernet and the USB adapters going to the LAN. However, I get occasional kernel panics and my WIFI range is now terrible compared to what it was before. The last few lines before the kernel panic line is "kernel panic - not syncing: Fatal exception in interrupt".
- The WIFI adapter is a USB2 802.11n adapter here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6833381004
- The USB adapters are 2x Logitec LAN-GTJU3 and 1x Plugable USB 3.0 Gigabit LAN Adapter
- The PCIe card is a weird one.. http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/B008 … UTF8&psc=1 (in japanese)
On the card are both a VL811-Q8P chip and a FL1100-1Q0 chip. It looks like the top four connectors to go the VL811+ and the bottom one and the header pins go to the FL1100.

So, basically.. does anyone have any ideas? Is there some kernel module somewhere that I have to compile myself? Everything was recognized automatically.
