Still having trouble syncing apps to my touch

2nd generation touch. Tried deleting free app and then reinstalling. It shows it's syncing on touch and then an error message pops up and it says unknown error has occurred -53 Has anyone had this problem and was able to fix it? Thanks for your help.

you could try this:
1) shut down iTunes.
2) shut down your iPod Touch normally and disconnect from your computer.
3) launch on iTunes.
4) with the iPod Touch still off, reconnect it to your computer.
a sync should happen now.

No problem. Glad to have helped. There was an issue with iTunes version 10.6 freezing while trying to sync an iPod Nano 6G.

STILL Having Trouble Syncing Contacts and Calendar

My iphone sync is freezing up on either the contacts sync or calendar sync. I have read about all of the other people having problems and have already tried reseting sync history as well as syncing without ical and contacts checked. Resetting sync history made no difference and of course it syncs with ical and contacts unchecked but that does not really solve the problem as I need to have those items sync also. Are there any other things I can try, this is a huge disappointment!!

... got exactly the same problems.
The iPhone starts to write the backup while syncing contacts and calenders but then it crashes and nothing has changed in the entries.
The only way to get the contact and calender entries is to overwrite the iPhone entries, so I only can sync content from my Mac to the iPhone, not the other way around.
Apple, please solve this problem!

Having trouble syncing apps

I have had an iTouch for quite a while. Just bought an iPad. The apps will not auto sync to new iPad. All apps are checked but will not sync.

Try this...
1. Open and update iTunes.
2. Go to iTunes>Preferences: 'check' the 'Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically."
3. Then go to FILE>Transfer purchases from "so-and-so's iPad"
You should now be able to get all the iPad apps into iTunes and manage them manually. You will have to re-sync, but at least you're re-syncing with the apps you want and not just your old apps. Also, do not fear, a back-up will be made of your current iPad setup in case something should go wrong.

I have had an iPhone 3G for almost a year now and have downloaded numerous Apps. Some that I have purchased and other that were free. I want to download the new iPhone update and restore my phone but don't want to lose the Apps I purchased. I switched apple accounts about 1/2 a year ago because it was linked to an email that I used in high school and created a professional one for college. Is their any way on identify the account used to download certain Apps and if the email address it may be linked to no longer exists is there anyway to download the App without being charged a second time? The main reason I would like to do this is my HDD crashed and after installing a new one my iPhone no longer recognizes it.

Otherwise there could be a thousand different things going on!
In the meantime try the reset if you haven't done that yet (maybe it helps, at least it's quick): press and hold the sleep/wake and home buttons and releasing them, when the Apple logo appears on the display.

The only way I have been able to work around is to delete the app and download it again. If I don't do this the app says waiting on my iPhone.

There is a whole lot of bad going on there.
There are problems both drive errors and USB errors. I don't believe it.
I have a hunch the drive is starving for power.
USB devices are supposed to function all the way down to 4.25V. Not all do.
USB ports are supposed to be able to deliver 4.25V at the end of the cable at 500mA. Not all do.
USB 2.0 devices are not supposed to draw more than 100mA unless they negotiate for more. Some violate that.
USB 2.0 devices are never supposed to draw more than 500mA. Some violate that. Especially disk drives.
My guess is that your drive is drawing excess current and the voltage drop through the port and cable are dropping you below 4.25; or at least below the voltage that your drive goes "Tango Uniform"[1]. Does your drive have the option for external power? If so try it. Following up on wtx's comment; USB 3.0 is capable of delivering more power. Also, some drives have used a cable that violates just about every aspect of the USB specification: A "Y" cable that plugs into two host ports to provide more power to the guest. I despise this solution with every fiber of my electrical engineering existence; never-the-less, you might try one.

Try a reset, press and hold both the home and power buttons for 10-15 seconds till the Apple logo appears. Release both buttons. Wait 15-20 seconds till your iPad starts on it's own.

There are only11 pages available to show apps. The apps are on there, they just cannot just be displayed on the page, unless you put them in folders.

I am having trouble with app updates on my iOS 5 iPhone never getting beyond the "waiting" state. I have tried signing out/in of my account, rebooting and removing/re-installing the apps. This started shortly after going to iOS 5 but I am not certain if that is related. All updates that I try now are stuck in "waiting". I also tried removing the apps and then installing via iTunes desktop sync with no improvement. The only thing that I have not tried so far is a restore to a prior iPhone backup. I have not been able to find anything to indciate what the updates on waiting on. There is plenty of space on the iPhone (16gb available). Any suggestions on what to try next?

First thing I would recommend is to check your downloads queue to make sure there is not an interrupted download per the following Knowledge Base article:

If your download was interrupted using your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
1. From the Home screen, tap the iTunes app.
2. For iPhone or iPod touch, tap More > Downloads. For iPad, tap Downloads.
3. Enter your account name and password if prompted.
4. Tap the blue download arrow to resume.
If you can't complete the download on your iOS device, you can download it in iTunes on your Mac or PC and then sync it to your iOS device. You can also transfer purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer.
For Apps, you can also try tapping on the application icon to resume the download, as outline in this featured discussion:

Try tapping the App, so that it changes to Paused instead of Waiting, then tap it again to resume the install.
Make sure you don't have any paused downloads in other apps either, like the App Store or iTunes Store.
If that doesn't do it, try resetting or restoring the iPhone.

Since I've had my Envy I've had no end of trouble with getting it and the iPhone to play nice. Any my search continues. So far, I have updated every bios, reinstalled Windows 7/iTunes many times, have restored the iPhone far more times than I care to remember and I am STILL having troubles with this thing. Having got through the Syncing issues with the PM55 chipset and iPhone I can now sync with my laptop. However all is not well as it would seem that I cannot sync my photo's. It doesn't matter if I have 0gb, 15gb or 30gb free, iTunes is telling me that there is not enough memory available. This error seems like an old one and there is even some info in the Apple KB but after following all that I still can't get it to sync my photo's.
Some info on my setup:
HP Envy 15 (all the latest drivers installed, bios F.24) Core i7-820, 8gb ram etc.
iPhone 32gb, ver 3.1.3
iTunes (whatever the latest one is)
I should add that I can sync my iPhone with an identical install of intunes on my vintage Quad core desktop PC, but as I use my Laptop a lot more (and have all my media, email, and contacts etc on it) I would prefer to sync to it.
Is there anything that I can do? Its very frustrating to have blown $4k on this equipment and it doesn't work...

Well I tried deleting the photocache but alas, no luck. I also tried syncing with just the photo's enabled, and it worked! So then I enabled my other media and that copied across too! I thought I was on a bit of a roll here, but now whenever I try and sync it will do one of 3 things:
iTunes will crash.
iTunes will indicate that there is not enough memory on the device (+9GB free)
iTunes will remove the iPhone from the sidebar (and my computer/disk management) even though it will continue to charge.
Interesting point to note is that it works fine (cable/iphone/itunes/media library) on my desktop and macbook. Still really disappointed that I cannot get these two to cooperate. Also still haven't got any contacts from outlook but that may not be related?

From the time I have upgraded to Mavericks, I am having trouble syncing my gmail emails. After the mail update my personal mail accounts from gmail are working fine but I am still having trouble with my office gmail account. I am receving new emails in my web browser inbox but not in the mail application. Also, I could only see the new messages if I quit the mail application and relauch it. Please suggest any remedy?
