Still Looking for Camera Raw Plug-In for CS4

I have Adobe CS4, and, after extensive searching, cannot find the correct version of the Camera Raw plug-in for my Mac (OS 10.6.8).  I just did successfully download and install the DNG converter 8.1 for Macs.  Today I downloaded version 5.4 for mac then it told me to quit before proceeding with the installation, that there was a newer version available.  Adobe states my camera's minimum requirement for Camera Raw is version 5.4.

Can anyone guide me to the right one?  Camera Raw only been a dream until now.  I finally have a great DSLR that supports raw, I've been playing around with it in iPhoto, but it's now time for me to take this to the next level.
Thanks very much.

Ask such specific questions on the Camera RAW or Photoshop forums and include info about your camera. If it's a newer model, this may ber perfectly normal and the files may require you to upgrade to CS5.1 so you can use the latest versions of Camera RAW or use the standalone DNG converter...

  • How do I access Camera Raw Plug-in for PSE 11?

I can't figure out how to access the Camera Raw plug-in for Photoshop Elements 11 ( on a Macbook Pro OSX.)  I recently installed  PSE 11, and when I select "about plug-in" within the app, it brings up a box that shows version 7.1.0.354.  Does that mean it's already installed?  If so, how do I access it to edit a photo? In past PSE versions I simply chose "Open file / as Camera Raw" but that option doesn't come up.

In the File Open dialog ensure you have All Readable Documents selected for Enable.
Click on the file you want to open
Change the Format to Camera Raw

  • Camera raw plug-in for Photoshop CS

Can I download a camera raw plug-in for Photoshop CS (just CS, the really old one) that is compatible with my Rebel T2i? I can find info on which plug-in I need but when I try to find it they are all for newer versions of photoshop.

    Hi,
What operating system are you using photoshop cs on?
Since photoshop cs (photoshop 8) can't be updated past camera raw 2.4, you would need to use the 8.3 dng converter to convert your files to
dng copies that photoshop cs can open.
You also need to ensure you have updated photoshop cs to camera raw 2.4, so you can open dng files in phpotoshop cs.
The following links are for windows versions:
    8.3 dng converter:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5694
    camera raw 2.4
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=2701
If your using photoshop cs on mac os x, then the particular dng converter you would need differs, depending on what version of os x your using.

  • I have PE11 I try PE12 When update for Camera raw is ok for my Nikon D610 ?

I have PE11 I try PE12 When update for Camera raw is ok for my Nikon D610 ?

Support for Nikon D610 is added is ACR 8.3 only. Hopefully it would be available for PSE12.
If you want to use your Nikon D610 raw files with ACR in PSE11, you can instead use adobe camera raw convertor to convert your raw files to .DNG format.
You can download ACR 8.3 convertor from http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/cameraraw8-3.html?PID=5157839

  • Outdated Camera Raw plug-in for CS5 Extended

As a long time user of ADOBE products, (Flash, Reader, Acrobat, Photodeluxe, and photoshop)  I was first introduced to PHOTODELUXE2 that came with a scanner. Got to like it, then over the years, I've had the opportunity to try out other PS titles like PS7, and the last version I have is the PS CS5 Extended, which I bought at a garage sale a few years ago.  Are these Photoshop programs only for the RICH AND FAMOUS?
I have cancer, and I am on disability, so for obvious reasons, and financially, I can not afford the $700.00 plus price tag for photoshop full licensed program. I have tried to open RAW photos from my Canon G6 Digital camera, but the plug-in needs to be updated. I also have a newer Canon SX50, that does have a RAW plug in, but that only works with this cameras photos, not my old CRW Images.
The G6 Raw plug-in was a 32-bit, that came with the Install Canon disc, but since changing my 32-bit OS to a WIN 7 64-bit, that plug-in no longer works, unless I get a hold of another XP 32Bit computer, and install it on that, which I do not wish to do,
Is there a third party Camera raw plugin that might open these G6 RAW files?  or do I have to buy the expensive full licensed program, which I can not afford? I have taken a photoshop Class at a local School, and received a 'Certificate of Completion", but as a student, I did not know at that time, that I could have got a discouted price for being a student, and looking back, it was still too expensive for me anyway, even at that price.
Since being diagnosed with cancer, I find myself at home all the time and enjoy editing photos for my self and family, I do not use this PS software for any financial gain, just self enjoyment, which takes my thoughts of having cancer away whenever I dabble.
I certainy appreciate the work that the Adobe developers go through, and I certainly do not want to take away from their livlihood buy using a product I bought for $15.00 for at a garage sale last year. But the CS6 Standard costs $700.00, or the CS6 Extended, at $1,000, what are my options?..I haven't won the lottery just yet.
i guess I'm looking for a Camera raw Plug-in to be able to open older CRW RAW Images. OR find a licensed PD CS5 Extended at a nominal price. Thank you for any help!  Sincerely, Jim

I think the G6 should be supported by camera raw in PS CS5.  You can download camera raw 6.7.1 -- the latest camera raw plugin for PS CS5 -- from  http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates.html
Scroll down to Camera Raw, click on Windows then download the 6.7.1 update.  Direct link:  http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=106&platform=Windows
PS CS5 usually installs both a 64-bit version and a 32-bit version on 64-bit systems.  You might look in your Win 7 program listing (Start key, then All Programs) where you should see both Adobe Photoshop CS5 and Adobe Photoshop CS5 (64-bit).  Your older 32-bit plugin that you used before might work with the 32-bit version of PS CS5.  Plugin would need to be installed in the 32-bit version only -- in C:\Program Files (x86).

  • Camera Raw Plug in for CS3

I still use CS3 because I am really fluent in it and can do all the things I need to... scared to upgrade:) My issue is that I just started shooting photos in RAW and cannot open them in Photoshop. I downloaded the camera raw plug in and followed the steps posted on the Adobe site but it still isn't working. Is it impossible for me to open the RAW files in CS3? I have a Canon Rebel T3i. Please help!!! Thank you!

Your version of Photoshop will not open T3i images directly.  Support wasn't added until Photoshop CS5.
Prior to the Creative Cloud Adobe stopped updating older versions to be able to read raw files from newer cameras whenever they released a new major version of Photoshop. The version you have is no longer receiving Camera Raw updates.
    You can check it yourself:
First you need to determine whether Adobe has released support for your new camera in your version of Photoshop. To do that, look at these two pages. You'll want to find out the earliest version of Camera Raw that can support your camera, then what version of Photoshop can run that version of Camera Raw.
Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras
    Camera Raw-compatible Adobe applications
If you were to have found your camera is supported by your version of Photoshop, you would have needed to download the latest update for Camera Raw. There's more information on how to do that here:
    Keeping Photoshop Up-To-Date
However, since your version of Photoshop cannot support your camera, you can download and install the latest version of the free Adobe DNG Converter, which can take your raw files as input and put out DNG format files, which your version of Photoshop can open.
Photoshop Help | Digital Negative (DNG)
The DNG converter DOES work, but if you want maximal quality from your raw files (not to mention the convenience and ease of use of directly opening your raw files) you'll want the latest version of Photoshop. Adobe has made substantial improvements in raw conversion quality in recent years.

  • Camera RAW plug-in for Photoshop 8 Doesn't Work

I downloaded Camera RAW plug-in 5.6 following the instructions, for use with a Canon Rebel EOS xTi.  The file downloaded and was pasted in the proper folder ( C:\Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\Elements 8\File Formats\ ). And when the RAW file still didn't open I downloaded Camera RAW plug-in 6.2 and pasted in the same folder as above. When I couldn't access the plug-in from Photoshop Elements 8.0, I tried Help-Updates. I still can't access or open RAW files. How can I fix this problem?

Make sure you delete all previous versions of the 8bi file from the File Formats folder before you start.
Make sure you use the correct download link:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4810
Extract files from the download folder then drag or copy the new 8bi file into the File Formats folder.
You can confirm successful installation by opening Full Edit and clicking Help >>About Plug-in >>Camera Raw

  • Camera Raw Plug-in for CS2

I have an iMac running OS 10.5 with Photoshop CS2... I am unable to open raw files produced on my Kodak pro14n camera. They are coded as ".DCR"files. I have been searching for days at the various adobe downloads/plug-ins sites and have downloaded several "Camera Raw" plugins, but still I can't open any raw files. I get the error--"Not the right type of document"..Wondering if someone knows of the appropriate plugin.or what I'm doing wrong.
    Thanks..

[EDITED this post. Please see next one.]
    Chris,
Support for that camera was added after CS2 had ceased to be supported by Adobe. That means that you will
never be able to open the raw files from that camera
    directly in CS2.
    You have two options:
    * Either update to Photoshop CS3 so you can run the current version of the Adobe Camera Raw plug-in (ACR 4.4.1 or ACR 4.5beta, neither og which runs under Photoshop CS2); or
    * download the latest free, stand-alone Adobe DNG Converter (version 4.4.1 or 4.5beta), to convert your files to raw DNG files that you can open in ACR 3.7 hosted by Photoshop CS2.

  • Updating Camera Raw plug-in for CS5.1

I have recently updated to Lightroom 5.7 on my PC and also use Phototshop CS5.1. When I use LR and then try to use the Edit in CS5.1 option I get the error message saying I should upgrade to Camera Raw plug-in version 8.7. I cannot find any way of doing this as Photoshop says the plug-in is already up to date. Help!

PS CS5 can only use up to ACR 6.x, its just not possible to upgrade to ACR 8.7.
If you are sending raw files from Lightroom 5 to PS CS5 for further editing when you see the mismatch warning choose "render using Lightroom" if you use the option "open anyway" the ACR version may not be able to process all your Lightroom edits.
The latest version of LR 5.7.1 is the equivalent of ACR 8.7.1

  • Invoking Photoshop CS5 from Lightroom 4 asks for Camera Raw Plug-in 7.0

I have just downloaded and installed Adobe Lightroom 4.0. When I try to invoke "Photo / Edit in Photoshop CS 5.1" I get the warning "This version of Lightroom may require the Photoshop Camera Raw plug-in version 7.0 for full compatibility. Please update the camera raw plug-in using the update tool available in the Photoshop help menu". However, the update function in Photoshop CS5.1 says that there are no updates available and searching adobe.com I can find no references to Camera Raw plug-in 7.0. What is one to do? Thanks.

No, the warning is not the issue.  As I've said, "supported cameras" are not the problem.
I do initial processing on my images, then using Lightroom CMD E push them to Photoshop for further editing.  The message says "7.0 may be required for full compatibility" should I ignore that warning and click "Open Anyway"  because there really aren't any compatibility issues?
LR 4 Develop module is much different than LR 3,  just as CS5 version of ACR is different than what I've seen in the CS6 beta.   My assumption is there would be compatibility issues - as the warning says - when using LR4's develop engine then passing it on to CS5.  I don't use ACR in Photoshop since I use Lightroom, I use Photoshop for detailed image editing in conjunction with the Nik Software selective tool run as a window within Photoshop.
So how about a clear answer:  Just click "Open Anyway" and everything will work great?  When I first work on an image in LR4, then further edit it in Photoshop CS5 with ACR 6.7 installed, Save and Close the image in Photoshop sending it back to Lightroom it will all work just like yesterday when I did all that in Lightroom 3 without any error messages?

  • Reinstalling Camera RAW plug-in for CS4 on my new Mac - help!

    Hi folks,
This is as much a Mac question as a Photoshop question, and I would appreciate any help.
I just got  a new Mac, and when I transferred everything from my old computer to the new one, something didn't move over from CS4, such that whenever I opened a TIF file, it would tell me that there was a missing component, which would then force quit the program. So I reinstalled CS4, but when I re-downloaded the Camera RAW plug-in (5.7), my Mac won't let me install it, saying that it only allows downloads from the App store (referring to the .mpkg file). In the security preferences, it says "download anyway," but then it repeats the message. The option to allow all sorts of downloads remains gray, such that I can't even select it.
Any advice would be very much appreciated, either in terms of the Mac or the Photoshop! Thanks!
    Claudio

This should be an automated installer for camera raw 5.7:
Adobe - Photoshop : For Macintosh : Camera Raw 5.7 update
The camera raw plugin 5.7 for a manual install should go in:
Mac Hard Drive: Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/CS4/File Formats
(click on the image below to enlarge)
Be sure to move the old camera raw plugin to the trash before copying the new one to the File Formats folder
    Also, install the camera profiles.
Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter : For Macintosh : Camera Raw 5.7 update

  • Is there currently a Camera Raw Plug-in for Photoshop CS for the Nikon d-600 ? tryed downloading version 7.3 but did not work

Is there currently a Camera raw plug in that supports the d-600 ? I tried downloading the 7.3 version and it didn't work !

You have photoshop cs (photoshop 8) circa 2003?
If so, which operating system are you using?
In addition to upgrading to photoshop cs6 or subscribing to the creative cloud, you can probably use the Adobe DNG Converter to convert your nikon D600 nefs to dng copies, which should then open in photoshop cs.
You need to have the 2.4 camera raw plugin for dngs to work in photoshop cs.

  • I would like to update my Camera Raw plug in for Photoshop 5 to include the Nikon D810 can someone help me?

I'm on a iMac OS 10.9.2 using ps5 and I'd like to update my Camera Raw plug in to include the Nikon D810.
Anyone have the best way of approaching this,I keep running into problems.

I've got some good news and some bad news.
The bad news is that the D810 didn't get out-of-the-box support until Camera Raw 8.6...which isn't available in your version of Photoshop. To get support, you'll have to upgrade to a newer version of Photoshop.
Otherwise, the good news is that you can download the free DNG Converter, which will allow you to convert those RAW files for use in Adobe apps.

  • Where do I install the Camera Raw plug in for Mac?

I'm not sure my question relates to Elements, but here goes:
I recently installed CS4 for Mac and have Elements as well.  When opening Adobe Acrobat I keep getting a message from Adobe that it has an update for Camera Raw and I choose to install it.  However, I invariably get a message that Camera Raw cannot be found on my computer.  Should it have been part of the CS4 installation I made, part of Elements, and now somehow it's not there?  I have downloaded the 4.6 Camera Raw update and have the plug in on my desktop, but I'm not sure where I should install it? Whether I should or should not install it? Whether there's a Camera Raw application that missed the installation process?
As you see, I'm pretty much in the dark as to this Camera Raw deal.  Any tips from someone out there?

Elements can never, never update ACR automatically the way bridge and PS CS can. You need to download and install the plug-in manually and you need to be sure you have the correct version for PSE. You can find it here:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=40&platform=Macintosh
You don't say which version of PSE you have, but most versions can use a newer plug-in than the list states ( you can use the latest version in PSE 6, for example).
If you have PSE 6 or 8, bridge will autoupdate the plug-in if you go to Help>Updates.
