Still missing a weekly view on iPhone....

...why is it so complicated?
I am using my iPhone calendar also to arrange appointments and just missing a weekly view. What is the reason for this simply function not delivered?

This is what I did:
- (void)viewDidLoad {
[super viewDidLoad];
[NSThread detachNewThreadSelector:@selector(updaterThread) toTarget:self withObject:nil];
- (void)updaterThread {
while(YES) {
NSAutoreleasePool *pool = [[NSAutoreleasePool alloc] init];
[self performSelectorOnMainThread:@selector(updateCounters) withObject:nil waitUntilDone:NO];
[NSThread sleepForTimeInterval:0.1];
[pool release];
In updateCounters I do what I used to do in the timer.

    ios 5 Update New Features says that calendar now has a week view but after updating my iPhone 4 last weekend, I don't see any week view for iCal--just List, Day and Month as in the past. Is the weekly view available for iCal and if so, how do I access it?

  • No week view in iphone 4 after ios5

    Hi, I thought the calendar should have new features after ios5 upgrade - in iphone the week view and in ipad the year view. However, I cannot see the week view in my iphone calendar. How do I turn on this feature?

    That gives you Apples very ordinary 3 1/3 day view - if you want to see a whole week at a time you'll need something like the "week calendar" app

  • Multiple All Day Events Missing in Week View

    Hello,
    I just got my first BB a Curve 8900 and am very impressed.
    The only thing I don't like is that if I have more than one all day event on a particular day, in Week View I can't see them.
    (I've used a variety of other phones/PDAs over the years and this is not normally an issue)
    I've googled this and haven't found much relating to it, other than people not seeing all day events on the home screen or something.
    Is this a BB 'feature'? Is there a work around?
    I'd like to be able to see my week ahead at a glance and don't seem to be able to.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello RobertBL,
    I have the same problem. In week view i only see 1 event on days with multiple day events. I use firmware version 4.6.1.152 (platform 4.2.0.91). My Curve 8900 is T-Mobile branded (Netherlands). Until now i haven't found a work around. In other calendars (pocket informant and Agendus) i don't have this problem in weekview, so it must be a BB firmware bug.

  • Stop with the right-click answers. Reload is still missing from my View menu.

    Please stop with the "right-click" solutions. I don't have a mouse that does a "right-click."
    Also, this forum is so hard to use I can't even find my original post so I am starting another one.
    How do I get the "reload" function back into my View menu? Please do NOT tell me to "right-click," that is of no use to me.

    Hi again pvitari, <br />Sorry you still have problems. Possibly you do not have the option as previously, but you do have workable options to reload webpages using mouse clicks.
    *Please confirm or explain ?

    *Do you not have a curved blue arrow on the end of the address bar as shown in the above image ?
    Your icons may not look exactly like that and will possibly depend on any customising you may have done. The arrow is only available when appropriate and could be: a cross to stop loading, or an arrow to navigate to a site.

  • Weekly view missing!!!

    Alright… i am really happy with my iphone, BUT there is a major function missing in the calendar function. There is no weekly view! I hope the smart people at apple will soon come up with an update...

    I don't know if this will ever carry over to the iPhone Calendar, but the iPad Calendar seems to have a week view mode:
    "Calendar
    +iPad makes it easy to stay on schedule by displaying day, week, month, or list views of your calendar. You can see an overview of a whole month or the details of a single day. iPad even shows multiple calendars at once, so you can manage work and family schedules at the same time."+

  • One Week at a time View on iPhone

    I am a longtime Palm OS guy, now ready to get a new iPhone. I was puzzled to see only daily and monthly views of calendar/events on the iPhone. I use the weekly view a great deal especially to drag and drop events from one day to another. iCal has a weekly view but not the iPhone. Could be its there via set up utilities and I just don't know about it. Also shopped the app store for a utility that would correct this and found none. Any help y'all can offer is appreciated!

    Trojfn,
    For gathering the data and inserting the same in to a table, why can't you use the scheduled tasks?.

  • Weekly View within ical on the iPhone

    Please let Apple know that a weekly view on the calendar for the iPhone would be something you would desire.
    The below link will help to inform the people at Apple about who is interested so that they can justify making the effort for this to be updated.
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
    Thanks!

    I also travel white a bit with my iphone. The situation, as I understand it, is that you can enter events on the mac with the time zone specified (i.e., I can enter a conference call at 2 PM CST regardless of my current time zone) and the mac and the iphone will both set the correct event time based on my local time. With time zone support turned on, both the mac and iphone will adjust the event time based my actual time zone so I will call at the correct time (that part works perfectly).
    The challenging part is that the iphone will not let me enter events in other time zones. If I happen to be in EST and want to enter an event for 2 PM CST, I have to enter it for 3 PM on the iphone. If I travel to CST, the event will move to 2 PM; if I travel to MST, the event will move to 1 PM so that part also words correctly. The only real problem is the inability of the iphone to schedule events in other time zones without them being manually adjusted, the addition of a time zone field in the event edit screen (just like ical on the mac) would make it much easier to use.

  • How can you view iCal Calendar in week view on iTouch/iPhone

    If the option is simply unavailable i suggest Apple makes an update for it?
    Another question i have up is: "Why can't i see my deligates' Calanders(subscribed calanders on google calanders which is linked to iCal) on "itouch/iphone iCal"

    In a way there is an week view, showing only events, but it is the continuous List option.
    I understand what you are looking for, more of a grid, which would require Calendar to work in landscape more. I would like that too at times. You can make the suggestion to Apple at http://www.apple.com/feedback/.
    As for the 2nd part: I don't know that you can since they are appearing on your calendar as pulled data supplied from Google and not truly part of your own.

  • IPhone calendar / weekly view and yearly view

    Good afternoon,
    I am supporting business users on different models of iPhones. The calendar function can display days and months but not weeks and years. Is there any way that this function can be enabled or is that not part of the software? A lot of business customers would like to have a weekly view or e.g. jump a year ahead to see, if there is a day available (without clicking 12 times on "next month).
    Thanks in advance for your help and responses.

    In a word, no.
    What you see or what is available is what you get.

  • The calendar  - weekly view for the iPhone

    Doesn't really have a question but rather a wish for Apple. I'm using my iPhone 4S for everything but find the calendar a but unsatisfying. Please give me the option to see the calendar on a weekly view and not only daily/monthly/list.

    Oh ****! Do I feel stupid now or what
    Thanx man!

    The calendar week view on my iphone 4s starts on a Sunday.  I am synching with outlook on my computer (pc)  which starts the week view on a Monday which I prefer.  How do I change my iphone calendar view to start the week on a Monday?  I am in Australia.
    I have just noticed the other discussion points - mine is set to Australia.
    Dear Apple - as the day that the week starts on can depend on country and religion - how about making it an option that the user can change????

    I believe the week view on the iPhone is handled by the Region settings in the phone. I am not aware of any other manner to change it, as you can with Outlook.

  • ICal Date Headings Missing from Day and Week Views

    Good morning,
    A few days ago, the date headings disappeared from the Day and Week views in iCal. I can see the date heading in Month view, but when I switch back, the dates are missing. All of my events are there, and correct.
    I have resolved font duplications and restarted iCal, to no avail.
    Thanks for your help.
    W

    Still no date headings when my calendar is views in the Day and Week views. All of my appointments are there. The days of the month appear in Month view. But when I change to week or day, I don't know what day I'm looking at because there are no dates. Only "2010" appears in the upper left.
    Any ideas? I couldn't be the only one this has happened to!
    Thanks, Wendy
